Donald Trump laments the fact that Melania didn’t get any fashion magazine covers

Trumps Depart to Spend the Christmas Holiday in Florida

Last week, just before Christmas, Donald and Melania Trump flew to Mar-a-Lago. As they left the White House, Melania seemed to have a special strut to her walk, perhaps because (hopefully) she was walking away from the White House for the last time. Or perhaps it was the $2,195 Christian Louboutin thigh-high boots. Melania definitely “served” a pre-Christmas look, which inspired Breitbart to post this:

Donald Trump actually agreed:

The thing is, all of the fashion magazines did decide, en masse, to reject Melania. Perhaps they were led by Anna Wintour at Vogue, who basically used her platform to quietly agitate against the Trump administration. I tend to believe that most American fashion editors simply wanted nothing to do with Mel, but it’s surprising that there wasn’t at least one contrarian, one Marie Claire or Glamour or InStyle editor who was like “okay, maybe we should at least offer Melania a cover?” But here’s the thing: there probably were a few fashion magazine offers… and Melania rejected them:

Yep! That sounds about right. To be fair to Mel – I hate myself for this – I bet she was offered some lower-tier fashion cover and she rejected it because SHE thinks she should only be on Vogue or Vanity Fair. And she didn’t want to do any interviews as well. She had too many secrets, including the fact that she had a Fauxlania body double, and the fact that she didn’t even live in the White House most of the time.

    bahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha

    yeah right.

  2. Miranda says:

Eva Braun didn’t make the cover of Das Vogue, either. SAD!

    • Trillion says:

      LOLZ!!!

    • MM2 says:

Shocking that we learn about that era & don’t lament about how awesome the SS outfits were (they actually took their fashion as seriously as these fellow tyrants- it’s all about show).

This is like a scene taken straight from The Producers.

      • Miranda says:

And look at the Nazis we have now: fat, inbred slobs in made in China MAGA hats, with maybe 6 teeth among the whole lot of them, carrying the flag of defeated traitors and tiki torches they stole from their nana’s backyard. “Look out, here comes the Master Race,” indeed.

    • Eleonor says:

      AHAAHAHHAAHAH!!!!!

  3. Scarlett says:

I really don’t care, do you?

    • Harla says:

      Good one Scarlett!!!

    • Mads says:

Exactly. The only fashion statement this witch will ever be remembered for. Infamously cruel.

      • YeahNo says:

Melanoma had great hair wig or whatever, but she’s not “fashion”. Hate to hate, but she’s the classic wolf in sheep’s clothing. Those giant bolt ons need camouflage in every garment. Otherwise she’s famous for cruel choices – colonizer chic in Africa, I don’t care coat on her way to child/family separation facility, stilettos whilst touring flood damage. She’s vacant with a clear statement as the Eva braun of her time. Any gold digger can wear designer – she has cheap shot style. Period.

      • Lorelei says:

@Mads you’re absolutely right — that jacket is her legacy, fashion-wise, which is exactly what she deserves.
Can anyone think of anything else she’s worn in four years?
That jacket was the only thing that stood out because of the audacity and cruelty of it.

    • Golly Gee says:

No, but I’m glad they brought attention to it because I was not aware and it gives me an extra helping of Trump schadenfreude for the holidays. Yummy.

    • Sojaschnitzel says:

      👏🏻 Perfect.

  4. ThatsNotOkay says:

Maybe because she spent most of the time ducking her duties and being a racist, homophobia-adjacent POS that the fashion world decided to pass on her being a cover model. She was never even a nudie mag cover model, she sucks that much.

  5. VS says:

To get a fashion cover, you need to be interviewed……..this woman is another uncurious person
    1) We are still waiting for her press conference where she explains how she got her visa
    2) there are plenty of Michelle’s interviews she can copy
    3) maga fans don’t buy magazines and people like myself dislike her just as much as I hate her husband
    4) she is a birther and just as racist as her husband is
    5) I really don’t care, do you?

    • Nev says:

      WORD.
      and if I may…
      6) just because you put on expensive clothes doesn’t make you a cover-girl !!

      • VS says:

I am too biased by my dislike of her, her husband and his entire team of cronies …. some people have said she is beautiful but I cannot see because her inner ugliness is reflected outside as far as I am concerned…….others might feel differently

      • Seraphina says:

@Nev – yes, no matter how well you wrap it up and place a bow on it – it still is crap.
@VS – I agree with you on all your points. Had she some humility her icy aloofness may have come across as class or dignity.

      • Nana says:

Is there any footage of that last pap/chopper walk that shows her sans sunglasses? Because I’m getting Fauxlania vibes from that one… the smile, the affectionate handholding. The expensive clothes in this case appear to be Fauxlania’s anyway… Give Fauxlania the covers!!

    • BayTampaBay says:

I cancelled my subscription to Vogue when Anna Wintour put Kim Kardashian on the cover. I have not purchased a copy of Vogue since. Anna Wintour knows which side the bread has butter on it. Put Melina on the cover and you will more Vogue subscriptions cancelled.

      • YeahNo says:

I cxlld vogue after the healthy glamazon trend and on w “heroin chic”. I’m not paying to see dead eyed anorexics in 5k sweaters. I love fashion but not what editorials do to women’s self esteem. Then into the plastic body part models like kim k. No. I’ll purchase again when natural is “in”.

      • VS says:

We have plenty of magazines & newspapers we almost automatically subscribe to; I still have my US vogue subscription but I remember some in my family be greatly offended by the Kim K cover but I was indifferent to it; the Kim cover was Kanye’s doing; Kanye used to be such a great artist…

      • Lorelei says:

@Bay I wrote something similar before I saw this comment, but you’re right. Idk what Anna was thinking, but she did irreparable damage to both her brand and Vogue’s when she put a Kardashian on the cover.

I’d already canceled my subscription by then, but I remember there being such an outcry and mass cancellations after that.

      • AnneSurely says:

I did the same thing with my vogue subscription. Melania looks like a stripper that some GOP flack pulled off a pole on the way to the inauguration and belted on some Dolce and Gabbana. She looks so out of place and uncomfortable in her expensive clothes. The more expensive they are the trashing she looks.

    • Amy Too says:

The cover is advertising for the interview inside the magazine. It helps to sell the magazine because people want to know what you have to say. If you haven’t said anything in four years and you don’t have any projects to talk about, then what would even be in your interview? If the extent of your collaboration with the magazine is just a cover photo, people can see and digest the whole of your contribution to that month’s issue while standing in the grocery store check out aisle. So why would they need to buy the magazine? Was he thinking she would do like a ten page fashion spread instead of an interview? I also don’t even get his tweet. What is “fake news”? It sounds like he’s calling out the Breitbart tweet as fake news but it’s not. Is he just generally insulting fashion magazines by lobbing “Fake News!” at them?

      • Golly Gee says:

Exactly. I can just imagine her sitting there with a blank look on her face as questions — even fluffy, superficial ones — are being asked, and having nothing to say.

      • Lorelei says:

Her biggest initiative is, correct me if I’m wrong, Be Best? Which consisted of a handful of tweets over four years? Even if she had been given a cover, that poor interviewer wouldn’t have had much to work with…

    • The Recluse says:

And she has zero charisma, especially in public settings. She is always so stiff when she gives speeches, so she would bring nothing to a cover except a frozen smile she thinks is sexy/glamorous.

  6. Noodle says:

Clearly the issue of greatest import to our nation right now. Maybe she can do the photo shoot as she rearranges the deck chairs on the Titan-err-tennis pavilion.

  7. Teresa says:

In the words of Melania, I really don’t care, do you? And let’s be abundantly clear. If Michelle Obama had ever posed naked or even been seen naked accidentally there would never be anyone asking why she wasn’t on the cover of a magazine.
Melania has been featured before, we’ve just seen it all at this point and she has done nothing significant to merit another go.

  8. Juls says:

What exactly is he calling fake news? Fashion magazines? Or Breitbart? What a moron.

  9. Jananell says:

I’ve been watching CNNs specials on First Ladies. Made me wonder how in the world they will tell Melania’s story. Do tell.

    • YeahNo says:

Her gangster husband finagled an “Einstein” visa for his call girl, which brings progressive thinkers into the US. Lied so blatantly about her education, she had to actually remove the claims on a White House website. She used her modelesque stature for cruel fashion statements – colonizer style touring Africa, “I don’t really care” coat whilst visiting orphaned immigrant children…This will be her bio along w soft porn portfolio.

  10. Ft says:

Trump should lament the fact Melania can’t edit any magazines. That’s the problem right there.

  11. chimes@midnight says:

Melania Trump is not ENTITLED to fashion magazine covers. She doesn’t get them just by virtue of being First Lady.

I don’t remember Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, or Nancy Reagan in fashion magazines either. Hillary was pretty roundly mocked for her pantsuit obsession. Barbara Bush wasn’t on the cover of Italian Vogue.

Does Trump just not understand that Barack and Michelle Obama were an incredibly exceptional first couple who were so widely embraced because of their actual accomplishments and the dignity they brought to their offices? Not just because?

The Trumps are *entitled* to two things; Jack and shit. And Jack just left town.

    • Lillyfromlilooet says:

      LOVE.

    • livealot says:

      allll of this !

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

      BRILLIANT, Chimes!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

Hillary got a Vogue cover in December of ’98 & has had other features (not covers) since. Laura & Barbara Bush got features, as did Nancy Reagan. I think there are 2 things at play here. 1) Anna Wintour doesn’t want to feature a fake model who won’t give an interview, even if she is the First Lady. 2) Mel is obsessed with getting a cover because it kills her that Michelle Obama got 3(!) and that Beyonce got the September issue (which Mel has bitched about). It’s her racism rearing its ugly head yet again.

      • Mignionette says:

I mean is Melania really that delusional? She must know how unpopular she is?

So she gets a cover and specifically the sell out cover of the year (September), but what of the women who are turned off by that cover and don’t buy Vogue that month ?

    • Lightpurple says:

Hillary Clinton got the December 1998 cover of Vogue. Laura Bush was featured in Vogue but I think her daughters got the cover.

      • booboocita says:

I remember that cover. Hillary wore a black ball gown, and looked absolutely scrumptious — elegant and happy (big smile!). I also remember the Bush daughters’ cover; they looked quite sweet in their gowns. If I recall correctly, Laura Bush got a cover, but not Vogue. Bazaar, maybe?

      • chimes@midnight says:

I didn’t remember the other first lady covers / stories, so thank you. “Today I learned …” 🙂

I looked up the Clinton Vogue and it is beautiful, classy and tasteful.

    • Mignionette says:

I am on the floor. Jack and shit took me clean out. LMFAO

    • whatWHAT? says:

“Does Trump just not understand that Barack and Michelle Obama were an incredibly exceptional first couple who were so widely embraced because of their actual accomplishments and the dignity they brought to their offices? Not just because?”

no, and that was his problem from the get-go (amongst many others…)

he thought “if the Black guy can do it and people love him, then it’ll be easy for me”…not realizing WHY people loved O. the intelligence, the grace, the compassion…of which 45 has NONE. I loathe him.

  12. Esmom says:

I’m glad she never went through the farce of a cover interview, even if she had been asked, which is unclear. I just am annoyed that the right yet again twists this into yet another example of “conservative voices are suppressed” garbage. Because that’s what the deplorables run with and it keeps perpetuating that myth.

And I’m enraged anew that the right worships this lazy golddigger, while vilifying Dr. Jill Biden for her career in education, serving student populations that are often marginalized. Melania would be so lucky to encounter a teacher like Dr. Biden.

    • Lorelei says:

Truly, what would she have been able to talk about? Be Best? Her upcoming tennis pavilion? Even if they’d wanted her to be a cover model, there’s just not enough there for a story.

The only photos I specifically remember of her are the ones of her pretending to eat diamonds out of a bowl. Those images are so insane they’re seared into my brain.

ETA here’s a link in case someone here doesn’t remember how egregious it was:

      https://news.yahoo.com/melania-trump-eats-jewelry-strange-vanity-fair-mexico-170755084.html

      • Esmom says:

Oh, yikes, I’d forgotten about that. The images of her that I can’t unsee are a lot more explicit. And the right doesn’t seem to have any outrage about them, interestingly.

And I agree, she would have nothing to say, which is why I’m sure no ones likely to have asked. Leave it to Trump to not understand that even something as superficial seeming as a magazine cover comes with a bit of work and isn’t just handed to someone. Most First Ladies and Presidents understand their roles in a way that the Trumps never have.

  13. Mrs. Peel says:

She can barely string a coherent sentence together, also, she’s not attractive or interesting enough to even be considered by a major magazine editor.

  14. Tiffany says:

I can’t wait for that recorded phone conversation when Dr Biden and Doug Emhoff get that Vogue cover though.

She gone be livid and I cannot wait.

And I do not believe that is Melonoma in the pic with the all black gear. Even with those sunglasses on, you can see life in those eyes and Melonoma has none. I call double.

    • msromperstomper says:

How great would it be if Dr. Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff graced the cover of Vogue together? Dying here…

    • Noodle says:

@tiffany, I have come to the conclusion that if she is holding his hand AND smiling, it’s not really her.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

You can also tell by the smile/teeth… and the fact that she’s holding his hand *tightly* AND standing soveryclose. Melanoma was already in FL. with HER parents and kid, away from that rotting, orange shit stain.

    • Mignionette says:

I think Doug will get the cover first.

I also think Vogue will run the following sequence:

      – Doug
      – Jill
      – Kamala

as all three are relevant and momentous for the time, especially post Trump.

    • Didi says:

A former CIA Chief of Disguise confirmed that they have developed the technology to do that and their agents have used it in Russia. She also says that the fact that she was allowed to write about it means that they don’t use it anymore or have something better. Watch the interview below, the bit about the masks starts around minute 33:

      http://youtu.be/C7h0M-imFb8

  15. Esme says:

This is very true to form as the last tweet storm of the Trump presidency: “my wife is HOT and you media should notice, happy new year”
    Did Ivanka get any covers?

    • Coco says:

If only it was the last one! We have to get through three more weeks!

    • Lorelei says:

So on brand for him to be bitching about something this ridiculous in the final days of his presidency. Sigh.

    • booboocita says:

Ivanka’s had a few covers, including a Bazaar cover in 2007. But for the most part, they were in secondary mags like Town and Country or the foreign issues of US magazines, not high fashion mags and not the American issues. And she’s never had a Vogue cover.

      • Lorelei says:

You know Ivanka must have tried HARD for a Vogue cover and was probably so mad that she never got one, lol.

  16. Eleni says:

What magazine wants to risk their reputation by promoting a colonial-cosplaying racist birther and sexual assault apologist whose only notable “achievement” in fifty years on this Earth is schtupping America’s most repulsive man to obtain an Einstein visa she didn’t meet any of the qualifying criteria for?

I mean, I would love to see an interview in which she was actually asked to defend lying about her education, language skills and being a “top model”, when she’s the only top model in the the history of top modelling for whose top modelling career in the field of “having your photo taken” there is precious little photographic evidence (cough); not to mention the mocking jacket slogan, kids in concentration camps, spending $670K of taxpayer money on hairdressing trips to New York during a pandemic in which eight million were driven into poverty, and being so lazy and unaccomplished that picking a Christmas decorating theme was hard for her. But it ain’t gonna happen.

  17. Snuffles says:

The MAGA crowd doesn’t read the likes of Vanity Fair and Vogue. They deem it too elitist. So there is no reason for the editors of these high end magazines to cater to their racist queen.

    • Lorelei says:

@Snuffles this is a bit of a tangent, but I used to be an enormous Kate fan (way back around the time of her wedding), and I still have a bunch of sellers who sold “Replikates” saved in my eBay searches; I haven’t actively paid much attention, just never bothered to delete them. (And yes I am mortified to admit this, in case you’re wondering!)

Anyway— I noticed that a couple of them started selling Meghan’s clothes too, post-2016, which wasn’t surprising, but a couple also started adding tons of Melania’s outfits as well…we already knew there was a lot of crossover between MAGATS and Cambridge stans, but to see Melania popping up alongside photos of Kate was…something else. Clearly they share a lot of the same fan base, and the eBay sellers took advantage of it.

(@Nic919: if you’re reading this, I meant to mention it earlier. I know it’s a small thing, but I feel like it’s just a little more confirmation of what we already know to be true.)

  18. Isa says:

I hate I know this, but Melania has already had a US Vogue cover from the time of her marriage. As for most glamorous, Jackie Kennedy and her immediate predecessor Michelle Obama have already sewn that up and there’s no competition.

    • Anna says:

There were rumours so I was reading that DT paid for that cover. It was when he was doing his reality tv show and the network kind-of told him to get Melania on the front cover.

    • Coco says:

Yeah, I made a comment about this yesterday so I looked it up to check details. February 2005 cover story of “Trump’s New Bride.” Non cover story about Hillary Swank, who had already won an Oscar and was nominated to win her second.
I’m sure there’s lots of behind the scenes negotiations to put different women on magazine covers at different times (Harvey Weinstein must have paid for quite a few), but I can’t think of any more blatant than Melania.

      • Mignionette says:

Melania’s cover was very much paid for. And again she is trolled on that cover a the stylist veiled her thus again making her ‘faceless’.

TBF I do think Anna Wintour is being a bit of a hypocrite bc she invited the Trumps to SEVERAL Met Ball’s (admittedly at a time when also Trump represented himself as a Democrat).

      • Anna says:

That was it. I was trying to remember where I read it. Thanks for the insight. xx

      • Lizzie Bathory says:

It’s hilarious that she was veiled so as to obscure her attempt at blue steel. Also funny that the cover she got was the February issue (they got married in January, but it’s still basically the worst cover of the year). Trump is notoriously cheap, so I don’t think he paid for the cover, nor do I think he shelled out for a $100K Dior wedding gown. My guess is some deal was made between the Trumps, Wintour & the house of Dior to get the dress on the cover, probably with NBC footing some of the bill to promote their star during a slow news time of year.

      • booboocita says:

Dior or not, Melania’s wedding dress was FUGLY.

    • Lorelei says:

I used to have a subscription to Vogue back then and I remember being SO disgusted the day that issue arrived in the mail.
Coming home from a long day of work and seeing “DONALD TRUMP’S BRIDE” or whatever in huge letters on the cover was repulsive, and I don’t remember what her wedding gown looked like, but I do remember thinking it was absolutely hideous.

ETA I just Googled it since I was curious about her dress and it’s as ugly as I remembered. Also, the Telegraph’s headline about it is:

‘Glamorous, pulled together and wedded to a slightly old-fashioned idea of femininity’: what we can learn about Melania Trump’s style from the 2005 Vogue feature on her wedding”

…I do not get “glamorous, pulled together, or old-fashioned” vibes from her dress at all, but I’m no fashionista, so!

@Mignionette: ITA about Wintour being a hypocrite. She showed it then, and the breaking point for a lot of people was when she had Kim Kardashian on the cover a few years ago. I think Vogue has lost a lot of its luster since then.

  19. dwitty says:

Plus she’s too heavy to model now….eventually the menopausal padding got her too bwaaaahaaaahaaahaaa

  20. Amy Bee says:

Melania really wanted that Vogue cover. Plus, usually when a First Lady gets a magazine cover, they usually use it to promote their platform and to speak about their family life in the White House. Melania didn’t have either.

    • equality says:

That’s what I was thinking. If she had settled on an initiative or any type of charity work and stuck with it, she would have gotten the interviews.

      • Mignionette says:

All the previous Republican first ladies either got at least one cover or a feature. And they all used it for a platform. Melania’s lack of platform and the horribly coined ‘be best’ which sounded like it was trolling her English was her waterloo.

She doesn’t deserve a cover and can’t bully her way to one at the 11th hour via woe is me tears. Anyway she got to meet the Queen so she can have a f*cking seat.

      • Amy Too says:

You mean you don’t want to read the ground-breaking interview that might include such fascinating and topical discussion as: her new tennis pavilion, what she told the gardeners to do to the rose garden, and the very difficult inner struggle she faces each year when she has to decide whether she will f*ck Christmas or force herself to come up with a decorating scheme? These topics don’t matter to you?

      • Lorelei says:

She probably just assumed it was a given, once she was First Lady.

What’s hilarious to me is that this is probably the *only* thing she was looking forward to about the position—clearly she’s hated every moment since election night 2016 — and she was denied the one perk she thought would come with the job 😂

  21. Seraphina says:

What would be hilarious is if Dr. Biden gets on Vogue for all her accomplishments. I stopped Vogue ever since Kim K was able to buy her cover. And we should not be surprised, women are only visual objects to The Donald, so it make sense he would think this way. But really, what has Melania done to deserve any recognition while first lady.

  22. Chicken Tetrazzini! says:

I dipped into a conservative reddit thread on this because I’m a moron and essentially they were all saying “why would a left magazine put her on, it wouldn’t sell” and most were kind of mad that Trump was even making a big deal of it. It was actually a reasonable read about how no one cares about this. Left or right or coo-coo nutters; no one cares.

I get a bit of a stink face when I think of what so many other women in her position of power would have done. To have advisors and platforms and all the help you could ever want at your disposal is world and life changing power. She did nothing. Be Best is a joke and one she clearly didn’t care about.

    • Sigmund says:

Side note, but it’s actually kind of fascinating to see the upheaval in conservative subreddits right now. There’s still a lot of crazy, but a lot of people are turning on Donald and the Republican Party, too, especially when it comes to the stimulus package.

      • Noodle says:

@sigmund, if you aren’t subbed to r/leopardsatemyface or r/selfawarewolves, let me suggest them. They are places where you can see the “best” of r/conservative without actually having to go to that sub. I think the tide is turning. Way, way too late, but turning – at least until another autocrat offers them the feel-good racial superiority they crave.

  23. Mignionette says:

I think that a Vogue cover is something that was coveted by both Melania and Ivanka alike.

The fashion community definitely had it in for the Trumps.

I also think there were practical reasons it could not happen i.e. not many designers were willing to collaborate or sponsor Melania and Ivanka.

Essentially the designer is providing the outfits and paying a hefty fee for the advertising. So to put their clothes on Melania would have been high risk for backlash, especially given Trump’s policies.

There is an interview where Anna Wintour flat out makes it clear that Melania will never make a Vogue cover despite Stormi Daniels being in a issue a few months previous.

  24. Lightpurple says:

There is video of Melania getting the heel of those thigh high boots stuck in the grass and stumbling so badly that she needs to grab onto him to remain upright. I confessed I laughed. Every time I watched it.

    • Sigmund says:

I’m not surprised! Those boots do not look practical for walking in the grass. But we all know Melania’s not familiar with the concept of work.

      • Lightpurple says:

I’ve been waiting for 4 years to see her get a heel stuck in that lawn. I shrieked with joy when I saw the video.

  25. Implicit says:

Hey Mel I Don’t really care. Do you?

  26. Babz says:

Oh, I think we’ve seen quite enough of Melania in pictures, don’t you?

  27. josephine says:

I can’t see that picture of him above and not think Teletubby. Or Weeble. His stance is just so odd. His arms are too short maybe?

  28. Digital Unicorn says:

On a superficial note – i stan her coat. Any ID on it?

  29. Golly Gee says:

I would love to see fake Melania on the cover of Vogue. ( I mean the look-like stand-in she uses when she doesn’t want to hold Donald’s hand or is too lazy to attend some event.)
Now that is an interview I would read!

  30. Sunday says:

Wasn’t she featured on the cover of some magazine eating a bowl of diamonds? Or has this administration completely broken my brain?

    • Lorelei says:

@Sunday no you’re right— it was Vanity Fair and I posted a link upthread. Those pictures were OBSCENE

  31. Sophie says:

I’ll never get over the fact that she inquired about what taxpayer-funded support she’s entitled to after her husband leaves office. Uh, zero.

    • vertes says:

Won’t she still get Secret Service protection? I think Barron will until he’s 18.
Her style is crap. She should have figured out years ago that those tight wide belts she so loves just make her boobs look like they hang down to her waist. If she must belt, they should be thin so there’s some space between waist & tits.

vertes, I think that Trump and his spouse and children under 16 years of age will get Secret Service protection once he’s out of office. I think they could ask for an extension for their son. Unfortunately, Trump and wife get protection for life. I actually feel really sorry for the ones who get those assignments. Can you imagine having to spend more time with that family? I hope they rotate that detail often.

Will she still get secret service if they divorce?

He’s doing some real introspection in the waning days of his presidency!

Also, I will NEVER get over that photoshoot in which she’s pretending to eat diamond jewelry out of a bowl as if it’s cereal.

  33. Mina_Esq says:

She wears expensive clothes. That’s not the same thing as being elegant.

  34. Teebee says:

This is just a guess, but halfway through Trump’s term, Mel wore that disgusting jacket to the border, we all remember that, right?

How in the world would she ever be able to dismiss or downplay that action if she granted a magazine access to her? No way she was going to put herself in the hotseat just to get her mug on a magazine cover. And I doubt any magazine was willing to trade her picture for a fluff piece interview.

I have a feeling magazines were clamouring for access to her, if only to get her on record for her opinion of her husband’s presidency. But that is the one thing the Trump White House managed to duck, only to be completely sideswiped by the Stephanie tapes…

At this point, it looks like Trump has no hindsight, no lessons learned. Only grudges, revenge, vengeance. No sense that he reaped what he sowed.

  35. hdsd says:

We’ve seen enough of her, methinks. Only FLOTUS to show us the goods. Pure trash. Also, anyone else thinks she looks so masculine we should check for a bit of a penis?

  36. Jaded says:

I’m sure she could get all the covers she wants PLUS interviews in Hustler, Juggs, Celebrity Skin, etc.

  37. MsIam says:

Melania to me always looks so unapproachable and sinister in her pictures but maybe that’s because she is unhappy at being First Lady. Those secret tapes don’t leave much doubt about that. I remember when she was selling her watch and jewelry line on QVC, she didn’t come off that way then. Anyway, I think that she along with the Trump “presidency “ are best left in the rearview mirror as quickly as possible.

  38. Andrea says:

Those boots certainly don’t scream average American!

  39. Willow says:

Clothes and accessories First Ladies wear sell out. I believe other First Ladies purposely picked clothing made by American designers for that reason. And on foreign trips would wear clothes from designers in those countries as a sign of respect. That would certainly be a good reason for a fashion magazine cover.
Melania never did that. She couldn’t even be bothered to do that little bit. So why would the fashion industry help her ‘modeling’ when she so obviously snubbed them.

  40. Annetommy says:

In my view the most stylish First Lady was Jackie Kennedy. Getting old sucks…

  41. GamerGirl says:

Melanoma got a Vogue cover when she married him. Doesn’t he have that framed next to his 10,000 fake Time covers?

  42. NomNom says:

What the hell would the accompanying interview contain? How much she hates the focking krees-mass season?

  43. Zen says:

The most elegant First Lady in history was, hands down, Jacqueline Kennedy.
