A couple of days ago, the Daily Mail published their now-regular feature, “the Duchess of Sussex’s As Ever brand is bad, because we say so.” There’s nothing new in any of these articles or analyses, it’s just bitching and moaning from self-styled “brand experts” who sound like absolute morons. “It’s bad to sell candles AND jam!” Jesus. Hilariously, all of that criticism from dishonest brokers has been pushed aside with one single move. You see, Oprah Winfrey added one of As Ever’s holiday collection products to her “Favorite Things” list. Oprah’s Favorite Things lists are infamous – they put all kinds of brands on the map, and Oprah has the power to launch a smaller business into the stratosphere. It’s a huge deal that Oprah added As Ever’s jam trio to her Favorite Things list. From As Ever’s email:

I looked at As Ever’s site, and they even added an “Oprah’s Favorite Things” tag on the jam trio. Smart. I actually ordered that exact trio already, and yes, I was planning on giving it to a friend as a Christmas gift (even though I want to taste the strawberry jam). That particular jam trio really does scream hostess/Christmas gift. Of course, if you’re going somewhere fancy, I’m sure the candles would make nice gifts as well. The candles are still in stock… has anyone gotten theirs yet? I want to know if they smell good.
Going back to Oprah and what it all means… the Derangers quickly forgot that Oprah also supported Clevr Blends, which Meghan invested in five years ago. Meghan sent Oprah a Clevr Blends gift basket and Oprah loved it and posted about it on her social media. The palace was appalled, remember? Anyway, Oprah’s endorsement is worth its weight in gold, so As Ever has officially made it. (I would argue that As Ever already made it when they were selling out right and left, but now it’s super-official.)
Additionally, in the same promo email, Meghan announced that As Ever will be sold at Godmothers bookstore – this is As Ever’s first-ever appearance at a brick-and-mortar store.

I bought the jam trio as a Christmas present for a favorite niece. Now I want to buy one for me!
This news and the movie cameo story coming back to back after the Page Six article about how Hollywood is so over them is pretty hilarious. It was already obvious that those stories from Page Six were self-soothing pacifiers for William, but this has to definitely sting.
And having it added to this list will definitely help. Because there are a lot of people that still follow Oprah and take her recommendations for books and things like this, that may not necessarily overlap with people that are interested in what Meghan’s doing. I’m thinking about my best friend’s mom in particular who is a hard core Oprah fan from back in her talk show days. She never missed an episode, even if she had to tape it on her VCR. She doesn’t pay attention to any ” young” celebrities or royal stuff at all though, so she may not even know As Ever exists.
This is great for As Ever. Last year Oprah included the Tatcha Hinoki bath set on her favorite things list, after Meghan gifted the product to her and she loved. It has completely sold out, not available anywhere for months. I am super bummed because I really, really love it.
Love that she is starting out small and local for her brick and mortar debut.. it looked beautiful when she was finished with the display. Oprah’s endorsement is definitely a win.. love this for Meghan and As Ever.

I got the gift box of jams and it’s absolutely wonderful. I’m breaking up the set as I had to try the raspberry but will give the orange marmalade to a friend for Christmas along with some of Meghan’s teas. Now, I just hope that FedEx delivers my As Ever wines when I’m home today.

The As Ever honeys are going to be part of my annual honey and cheese gifts, which I think is JUST AS PRESTIGIOUS! (OK, not really, obviously. But honey is a family business and I can be a total snob about it, and I’m seriously impressed with the As Ever ones.) Also, the sage honey is going to be glazing my Thanksgiving turkeys.
Miranda, how do you glaze the turkey with honey? Is it straight honey or do you mix it with oil or butter? It sounds like it would taste fabulous and I love the idea and want to try it. Thank you so much.
My usual glaze:
Melt a stick (8Tbs) of butter with 1 cup (12oz) honey, then stir in 1tsp Dijon mustard, 2 cloves of grated garlic, 2Tbs minced fresh sage, 2Tbs minced fresh parsley, and the minced leaves of 2 sprigs of fresh thyme. You can switch up the herbs to taste, of course. Let the turkey roast for 1 hour, then start glazing it every 20 minutes until it’s done.
You definitely want a mild honey, like an everyday wildflower variety, but good quality. Spending $30 on a jar isn’t necessary, but you want something more than a squeezy bear!
Ooh! Maybe I can add sage honey to my herb butter compound.

Got one bottle of the Brut yesterday. Another bottle is scheduled for delivery on 11/7. Think I will order 2 gift trio sets. One for my daughter and one for my nephew. My raspberry drizzle came yesterday and I immediately had one small scoop of vanilla ice cream and covered it with drizzle. Flavor is wonderful but those seeds! They get stuck between my crowns/ caps, but I shall soldier on.
I’m sorry for your dental work. My 15YO son was delighted about the seeds. Something something “not over processed.” These teens are a trip. 😂

Agree with everyone on the strawberry jam! I knew it was going to be good, but it was way better than even I expected. The raspberry was good too, but I really wish they sold strawberry separately because I would buy just that if I could.
I just got my jam trio yesterday and tried both the strawberry and raspberry spread with my English muffin this morning. They were both glorious! If I had to choose between the two, the strawberry would be my favorite… until I try the orange. LOL. They are as good as advertised.

Oprah is a goddess.
I tend to not like New Zealand wine because of the grassy taste, but the Sauvignon Blanc was really good. My husband opened a bottle to cook with (Yes we use good wine to cook with) and ended up finishing the bottle by himself. The Apricot spread is delicious, and I’ll buy it again, I might make the thumb print cookies with the spread this weekend.
So…. after months of crying from pure envy about you all ordering the goodies, I have figured a way to get some As Ever goodies to Ireland!! And I’ve ordered a candle for my favourite niece for a housewarming gift and the gift set of preserves. Will probably take a bit longer to get here but they’ve been shipped and I’m so excited!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

My 519 Moroccan mint candle can be smelled as soon as you open the white delivery box. It smells heavenly. I can’t wait for the other one to arrive.
I got the various honeys and spreads as gifts and for my own use. The fruit spreads haven’t arrived yet, but the honeys and one candle have been delivered. All I need is for As Ever to restock the apricot spread and I will be set!

Thank you — all of you, who have described the candles. I’m tempted to buy the one with cardamom, if I can talk myself over the price point. I’d love to be able to go to Godmothers and inhale. I’m sure that would make the deciding part much easier. lol
So far, my favorite spread is the apricot, followed by the strawberry, so I’m hoping that they’ll be available for individual sale at some point.
Why wouldn’t she enjoy spending the people’s money on herself in her endless array of “forever homes,” which means what? A new forever home every 6 months? All the while keeping all the forever homes they’ve accumulated? I think both she and her husband really think they are all that, doing absolutely nothing to help the citizens of England, and being just fine with it. Pour me another crack baby, please.
I’m happy for As Ever, but the brand and its products stand on their own merits and Oprah’s seal of approval wouldn’t mean anything for sales if the product weren’t a good product.
I heard about a brand that produced a gift set because Oprah approached them to appear on her 2024 list. I only heard about it after the fact, but my opinion in where they went wrong was in choosing basics that people probably have variants of already, instead of special or festive variants that would have more appeal for a gift set. So the gift sets barely sold, and nearly a year later, the brand is at risk of going under because their manufacturers fronted them the costs which they need to repay, and also can’t afford to restock other products in their line up. They’ve been pushing the gift set on their socials for months.
