Bad Bunny walked the red carpet of the Met Gala in one of the more interesting looks of the night. He was dressed up as an old man in prosthetics created by SFX designer Mike Marino. Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend, Kendall Jenner, was also at the gala in a GapStudio gown.
Kendall and Benito dated for around ten months back in 2023. It was never very serious and it reportedly didn’t work out because they both had busy schedules. After they broke up, a source said that Benito was still on good terms with Kendall and her family. While there was no Bad Bunny/Kendall red carpet reunion, he did encounter Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. Both Kim and Kris greeted him warmly, and he even stopped to give Kris a side hug. The singer, 32, walked the red carpet on Monday, May 4, while dressed as an elderly man to represent the event’s “Costume Art” theme. In a video shared via social media, he stopped to chat with Kris Jenner, giving her a one-armed hug before leaning over to acknowledge Kim Kardashian as well.
Kendall, 30, for her part, walked the red carpet separate from her family, looking like a work of art in a nude custom Gap Studio by Zac Posen dress. Her sister Kylie Jenner was also in attendance on fashion’s biggest night, wearing Schiaparelli.
While Bad Bunny’s run-in with the Kardashian-Jenner family was brief, they’ve seemed to remain on good terms since his split from Kendall. Earlier this year, Kendall was seen cheering on the musician from the stands as he performed during the Super Bowl halftime show.
Kendall started dating Bad Bunny in 2023 during one of her breaks from Devin Booker.
“It’s not super serious, but she likes him and is open to seeing where things go with him. Kendall appreciates how he treats her with respect and he makes her laugh,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “He’s very charming and she thinks he’s a great guy. Although things are still fairly new, she definitely sees potential.”
Later that year, Bad Bunny made it clear in a Vanity Fair interview that he was “not interested” in speaking publicly about his love life. The duo broke up later that year but briefly got back together before parting ways in 2024.
I believe that Bad Bunny and Kendall’s breakup was just as amicable as sources claimed, but it’s nice to see that there really is no bad blood between Benito and the Kardashians. Do you think Kris even recognized him though? I totally didn’t recognize him the first time I saw him dressed up like that! I bet he chatted with Kris, Kendall, and the rest of the family after they all went inside.
As for Kendall’s dress, it was inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a Greek statue of Nike, the goddess of victory, and designed by Zac Posen. I thought it was boring until I saw pictures of it with the wings attached. They had such gorgeous detail and made the dress look absolutely stunning.

I still remember seeing the winged victory of Samothrace for the first time about 30 years ago and it blew me away. I miss being able to go the Louvre semi regularly (yay free entry on the first Sunday of the month and my cousin studying history of art in Paris so we could also go in free). Now it seems to be heaving ALL the time.
