Widdle Justin Bieber gets a tattoo at 16

KIIS FM's Wango Tango 2010 - Arrivals
Teen sensation Justin Bieber wants us all to know he’s not just the clean living bowl cut little boy who has tweens screaming and stampeding around the world. Bieber, 16, got a tattoo at a parlor in his native Canada. It’s a little bird on his hip, although it’s just a small, barely recognizable outline, and it’s allegedly permanent. Best Week Ever has the news and photos of Beiber getting inked and sporting the tattoo at the beach to prove it. (We don’t have the rights to those photos, but you can see them on Best Week Ever.) Here’s more:

Bestweekever.tv has done the next, most legal thing to laying our hands on Justin Bieber’s tattoo (technically illegal). We’ve got the photos to prove that his tattoo even exists, straight out of the Son of a Gun tattoo parlor in Toronto, Canada, where the 16-year-old Bieber dropped trou to receive his first tattoo, of a small bird on his hip.
Speculation arose alongside teenage shrieks of desire a few days ago when photos of Bieber playing football sans shirt on a Sydney beach surfaced (see gallery below). The small tattoo on his pelvis appears to be … an anvil? No. The Texas Longhorns mascot? OK, what about the plastic bag in American Beauty? Not that either… what’s that? I see.

My sources (internet) have just informed me that the tattoo is of a bird in flight. Turns out it’s a Bieber tradition, as many members of his family sport bird tattoos on their wrist.

Justin’s dad Jeremy Bieber was alongside Justin as the tatt artist went to work, defacing the body of America’s sole angel. And now, that little bird tattoo can spread his little ink wings and fly into the hearts of millions.

We just pray he stops there. Miniature hip tattoos we can cope with, but full sleeves and a dolphin tramp stamp would really ruin kill our hopes of one day birthing a litter of Biebies.

[From Best Week Ever]

Beiber joins Miley Cyrus in getting a tattoo underage, presumably with his parents’ permission. I saw this kid on Oprah last week, and he was nice enough. It’s clear that he’s a whole brand like Miley, though, and that he has an entire team managing his image and career. He told Oprah that his mom will take away his phone to punish him and that if he talks back “she’ll slap me in the face!” I hope he’s kidding. So is this Justin’s way of rebelling against the team of managers and handlers he calls “like a family“? Did his mom sign off on this or did the tattoo studio give him a pass for being underage because he’s famous? This reminds me of another musician who also got started at a young age and favors tiny tattoos – Britney Spears. I’m just saying.

People will probably take this news better than they will with Miley Cyrus even though she was 17 when she got hers and it was done in memory to her friend and grandfathers who died from lung-related injuries.

I wonder if anyone will call him names like they did to her…? Sigh, probably not.

That tattoo is so tiny, looks like someone scribbled a line on his hip.

On his hip? Sounds like a place for a girl to get a tattoo.

I don’t like his music, but I don’t agree on the comment that he is talentless. I heard that he plays instruments and actually writes songs. He is not like all the disney products (MC, JB, SL, DL) that are forced down our throats.

But I definetely agree that this tattoo and its place are very much girlie.

  7. scotchy says:

personally,(just my opinion) i don’t think that because you can play an instrument your are automatically talented.( that’s why i don’t consider him all that talented, but compared to others, sure he has something, i will give him that much), as for writing ones own songs, in major studio settings as long as he contributed one sentence then he is a co-author in his songs. which then enables the record company to say that he “writes” his own songs.
this is one well oiled money making machine, and he is being shoved down our throats and will continue to be until his voice breaks.
    this is just the beginning.

“…defacing the body of America’s sole angel”

    LOL!!!!

Who cares if she got a tattoo. Good for her!

And I don’t think he’s a virtuoso or anything, but he does have a really great voice imho.

Oooookaaaaay…. the boy looks like he’s freaking 12 years old. <_< He needs to cut the dang hair and go through puberty already. And not get tattoos in such a girly place… his hip? Seriously? I laughed. XD I’m ashamed to admit his music is catchy… BUT. It’s not as good as the screaming fans would have you believe.

    @scotchy
I also don’t think that if you play instruments you are very talented. I added that he also writes his songs. That’s what was said about him in Oprah, making it sound that he was more like Hanson in 97, for writing, playing and producing.
If he is co-author, not author, it may be exactly as you said, or not. Anyways, he gets points for not coming from Disney.

No, no, no. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: do not let teenagers get tattoos!

(So sayeth the girl with an elephant tattooed on her as that was an ill-advised teenage whim.)

A tat on his hip?! Let the gay rumors begin!

My bigger problem is this: Why doesn’t he have arm pit hair? I had more hair on my pits when I was 13 than this kid has at 16!

A bird tattoo on his hip? He’s…he’s totally gay, right? I mean, I understand the bird tat is a family tradition, but it said other family members had them like on the wrist or something like that. The hip is a super girly place to get a tat.

Betcha like 10,000 girls went and got that some tat today, though.

Okay Grace he gets a few points for not being part of the Disney machine but he is still part of a well-oiled machine as Scotchy stated. You know his “music” is worthless and lame when the many spoofs of his songs on Youtube are more interesting, better done, and more entertaining than his “music.” Check out the spoofs for his song “One Time.” Some are hilarious. What I find fascinating and laughable is that some of these rappers pose as hardcore and yet they appear in his videos and on his cd. Ludacris for example. Do they know or care that you are not hardcore urban if you are appearing in a video with a girlish white kid that has appeared on the cover of Tiger Beat. This is another example of how the music industry is largely one big fraudalent joke.

Every time I see pictures of this boy I think “Hey its that girl Danny or whatever from the MTV show about trying to date Tila “SKANK” Tequila.” Then someone points out that it is a boy and that it sings.

Anwyay, I know 18 is the legal age limit for getting a tattoo in CA but I think laws vary by state. And being that he’s a Canadian citizen and not American I would think completely different law apply to what age kids can get tattoos.

My nephew had to wait until he turned 18 to get his tattoo here in CA even though two years prior his mom was willing to give consent in person at the tattoo parlor. My sis was told CA state law forbid anyone from getting a non-medicinal tattoo even with parental consent. That was just 4 years ago.

And getting into the wayback machine – I couldn’t get a tattoo here in CA until I turned 18. And by the time I turned 18 I didn’t want one. So I paid for my best friend to get one since she was 18 and knew what design she wanted.

Unfortunately, legal or illegal because he is famous (for what I do not know – too old I guess)and he has money and a desperate tattoo artist will be willing to risk their license and future so that they could say they tattooed little Billy Gilman.

Opps Justin isn’t Billy…or is he?

Where the heck is Billy Gilman anyway?

I’m with other commenters here, this ‘boy’ looks like a 12 year old (lesbian) girl to me. I don’t think ‘he’ looks like a boy at all… Maybe he is younger than they say he is for some reason? Because boy is that kid one late bloomer. Yuck. Oh and thankfully I have not heard any of its songs! =D

I just don’t understand the big hype about teenagers and tattoos, as in, why everyone disapproves?

Both Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber are obviously mature enough to handle something such as a tattoo and, to both, the tattoo had great meaning to them.

It is no different than my having had seven ear piercings by the time I was 15 or from teenage girls with their belly buttons pierced or either gender with their noses or lips or eyebrows, etc. pierced.

The simple fact is, teenagers are evolving into a mature group of people and we are growing up facing, although different from previous generations, even tougher happenings and decisions.

We mature a lot younger and have the mental capacity for the simple decision of a tattoo.

Every teenager I know that has a tattoo has it for a reason, whether it is a memorial piece, a reminder symbol, or a family crest, the reasons matter.

All I can say is: with all due respect, get the heck over it.

20 years from now, it is going to be the people with a tattoo or two and several, what are now considered to be, unconventional piercings that are running big-name companies.

@Jennifer. I think it’s really sweet that you consider having 7 ear piercings or the odd navel or lip ring “unconventional.” Cute! Hot tip – if you can get it done at any local hairdressing salon in the burbs, it ain’t unconventional. Lol.

I got one when I was 15 by lying about my age. Not a biggie at all though and I was a real good girl. Tattoos are definitely not “bad” or “hard core”. I am 32 now and do not regret it cause it is just a little one.
