Lindsay Lohan goes back on drugs for dental reasons

Lindsay Lohan matches her trademark fake tan to her newly dyed blonde hair!!

Lindsay Lohan is really good at finding excuses for why should be on drugs, legitimately. Her latest excuse is getting her wisdom teeth pulled – a procedure in which I truly do not cast any blame on Lindsay for wanting the hardcore drugs. If she wanted to smoke crack before her dental surgery, I would be like, “Yeah, that makes sense.” What is a little funny is the timing – just a week after Lindsay is supposed to be “on probation” and “clean and sober”. According to TMZ and Lindsay’s lawyer, Lindsay has to submit a list of all of the drugs her dentist put her on for the procedure. Will “crack” make an appearance on the list?!?

It might seem like bad timing — that Lindsay Lohan was ordered last week to submit to random drug testing, just days before she had her wisdom teeth pulled … but we’ve learned Lindsay got a pass from probation.

Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley tells TMZ, “We advised the Probation Department of the dental appointment, which was made well in advance of last week’s court hearing.” Chapman says she assured the probation officer she would provide “documentation about any medications that Lindsay would be taking, which would be administered or prescribed as part of the procedure.”

So whatever sedative Lindsay got in the oral surgeon’s office, and whatever she’s taking for the pain … won’t count on the drug test.

[From TMZ]

Probation is starting to sound pretty cool. You get to take drugs and take care of all of those doctors’ appointments that have been accumulating while you party and sleep until 3 p.m. Still, I would pay to see the list of drugs Lindsay submits to the court. The prosecution should definitely double check with the dentist to make sure he was the one to prescribe “horse tranquilizers” and “heroin”.

  2. Dude she is the ONLY tweeter I have come straight to my phone. A lot of jumble BUT also a lot of fun from like 11pm to 5am!

  3. Kirsten says:

When I got mine out, I had dry socket. They had to keep me on drugs for a month. It hurt so bad. You can’t blame her for getting drugs for this. She is going to hurt afterwords.

  4. YT says:

I think there is currently an investigation in L.A. of doctors who are over-prescribing medications, so Lindsay’s sources for meds may be drying up, especially with her reputation. I bet she didn’t give a full list of doctors to her probation officer, but any who prescribe to her should be wary, even the dentist. Who wants to bet she will manage to be on heavy pain meds until her next hearing?

  5. Bonfire Beach says:

She’s an ass. I got my wisdom teeth out & didn’t take any drugs – just used some ice on the chipmunk cheek swelling. 2 of my teeth had to be cracked while still in my jaw because there was no room for them to be pulled. And still, it didn’t even hurt afterward. Meanwhile, she’ll complain of terrible pain and need to be on pain meds for months but will still be out partying.

  6. Lita says:

Bonfire Beach, that’s great but I’m sure you know that for many it can hurt like a mofo and if we’re in pain the doctor *should* give you pain meds. That’s what they’re for! That abuse by some makes it hard for those legitimately needing pain meds (or makes others deride them) really bugs me.

  7. Jillian says:

My husband’s dentist will not prescribe hardcore pain meds to anyone for wisdon teeth extraction. He told him to take Tylenol and ibuprofen and he got along just fine.

  8. DoMaJoReMc says:

Yup! I agree with YT and Bonfire Beach:

She will milk this for all it’s worth.

  9. Eileen Yover says:

I had my wisdom teeth pulled and had dry socket so I understand the need for meds…but since she failed to mention that to the judge when all this went down and knowing how irritated the judge has been with her, she might just get in more hot water with all this. What’s the point of wearing the SCRAM bracelet if she has been ok’d to take drugs while wearing it? If I was the judge I’d just start the process all over and make her play it straight.

  10. erika says:

I got some pretty hardcore painkillers when my wisdom teeth came out – so much so that I quit taking them after a few days because I’d rather be in pain than feel that loopy 24/7. Granted, I was 17 and I’d never taken painkillers (other than, like, Tylenol) before, so that was a big part of it. I’m sure Lindsay’s tolerance is so high that she’ll need a horse tranq to numb up that mouth … or an 8-ball.

In other news, it’s nice to see her outside in the daytime – with her torso covered up – and a camera.

she is just gross. Ill be so glad when every little thing she does isnt newsworthy any more.
This dental thing is another lame attempt to get drugs. I know ppl need them after some dental surgeries but I cant see the need for any more than a week or two if that and thats only if there was major complications.

  13. meme says:

Well, that didn’t take long, did it Hohan?

  14. bros says:

I had mine out but only used like 2 of the oxy whatevers they gave me-they made me so grumpy and itchy! it was totally pointless and the high dose ibuprofen worked better anyway. I’m not a fan of opiates at all!

  15. Ana says:

I had my wisdom teeth out last year and didn’t get prescribed any pain meds either.
I had shots to numb the area and was told to take OTC pain medicine like tynenol.
The dentist gave a list of things not to do to prevent a dry socket, bascially no sucking like from a straw or a cigarette. I never got one and I’m glad because I hear they hurt like crazy.
Now if my bottom wisdom teeth ever come in I will have to have them cut out, and will get meds for that. So did she just have them pulled or cut out is what I’m wondering? I don’t see the need for meds for just getting them pulled (unless you get a dry socket.)
Then again, I can’t really take pain medication because it knocks me out. When I got the epidural when I was in labor with my first child it knocked me out (not that I minded at the time.) After I had my child I was prescribed some pain medicine and I would cut it into half to take even though the directions said to take a full one. I ended up taking it that way twice before I stopped. I needed to stay away to take care of my newborn.

  16. Icecat says:

    I just cant with her.

The drug part will depend on if her teeth are impacted, or if they can just yank em out. When I had mine pulled they were already in. I think because of Lilo’s age they are probably already in. Most people get their wisdom teeth out in their late teens. Mine where fully in already and I was in my early 20’s. I didn’t have to have them out, but I did it, and am happy I did. It released a lot of pressure in my head. I only had Codine and I don’t even think I took the whole perscription.

God I hope the damn Judge dosen’t give into this BULLSHIT!!

  17. CB Rawks says:

I was put under for my wisdom teeth, and then on pain killers after that. The weirdest thing was I had a reaction to the anaesthesia, and I was puking blue and green for two days. I actually think they tried to impregnate me with an alien spawn, but at least I was asleep at the time.

  18. Miss Bitch says:

You don’t need drugs for dry socket. Just go to the doctor and he packs it with a little medicine ball – pain gone. She shouldn’t be on meds for more than 3 or 4 days.

  19. Snarf says:

    Vicoden or percs?

  20. andrea says:

is having your wisdom teeth out something that needs to be done immediately upon discovery? if not, why can’t she just postpone the damn appointment? the timing is certainly suspect, especially considering i highly doubt this girl’s main concern over the last few weeks has been her dental health, or any other type of health. where did she see this dentist? on a yacht in cannes?

  21. Tia C says:

@ CB Rawks: LOL re the alien impregnation!

I’m 42 and have been told by various dentists for years that I should get my wisdom teeth taken out because they are impacted. I don’t really believe them, so I still haven’t. They aren’t bothering me, so I don’t understand why they need to be removed. Seems silly. Just sayin’…

This does sound like a drug-seeking ploy. Chances are her wisdom teeth removal could wait. Just a hunch.

  22. LindyLou says:

ITA with posters questioning the timing of this procedure. Hohan is the queen of excuses and elaborate stories to explain away what she does.

  23. Poopie says:

call me a hater, but she has AWFUL looking legs !

  24. Peanut says:

I had to be put under for my impacted wisdom teeth to be removed… all I got afterwards were T3’s. And even that was only enough for a couple days.

Seems like a ploy for Hohan to get some drugs, IMHO.

  25. Novaraen says:

When I had my wisdom teeth out, they gave me Vicodin…which I found out quickly I was allergic to. Then they gave me darvocet, which I hated because it made me feel drunk. So I quit all that junk and started taking 800mg of ibuprofen and felt LOADS better.

Although that darvocet stuff would be right up Lindseys alley…since she loves that drunken feeling.

Oh and I hate those dark blue shorts…she’s worn them for years and they are still way too small for her and very unflattering.

  26. bellaluna says:

She seems a little old to be having her wisdom teeth removed. I had my wisdom teeth – impacted, one of which was all the way up in my cheekbone & had to be removed in pieces – removed at 17. I think it’s convenient timing on her part, and I call bullshit. But I’m not surprised. I called it on a previous post, when I read she had to submit to random drug testing.

  27. Scarlet Vixen says:

I had pretty intense oral surgery to get my wisdom teeth out at 14 because they were severely impacted–the roots were so long they were growing down around my jaw bone, and the teeth were attempted to grow forward, screwing up my braces trying to push the rest of my teeth back. So, the dentist went in with a little hammer, broke all four into pieces, and left open wounds because they were too deep to stitch up–it was pretty nasty. 🙂 I had a reaction to the vicodin they gave me (puked everything for 3 days), so I quit taking all pain meds and was totally fine.

But yeah, as a natural redhead (we tend to have lower pain tolerance and higher tolerance to pain meds) & crack ho LiLo will prolly have to take dilaudid or something.

  28. bb says:

24 years old and just now, right at this oh-so convenient time her wisdom teeth suddenly start giving her trouble. I call BULLSHIT. If she really needed her wisdom teeth out, chances are this would have been done before.

Sad that she’s so addicted she has to resort to such desperate measures.

  29. Karen says:

@Bellaluna – At the age of 24, I discovered that I didn’t have a peanut stuck between my back molars, it was my wisdom tooth growing out! So my dentist froze me and used all his might to yank it out. Annoying but not painful. At 30, an x-ray detected the remaining impacted wisdom teeth and I was scheduled for surgery 6 wks later. I followed instructions but still developed dry socket. I’m 37 now but tears spring to my eyes when I recall how painful it was. I used up my Tylenol 3’s and Oxycontin then began popping ibuprofen until I hallucinated before I was able to attend my 1 week check up.

Needless to say, some people need the good shit to recover from dental surgery. I would bet my condo that Hohan is undergoing unnecessary dental surgery to justify her need to get her drugs on. I’m embarassed for her attorney who should be able to retire once she finishes representing Lindsay (that is, if she’s able to collect on the bill!).

  30. Dallas says:

Yes, she was in so much pain and needed pain meds that she was able to smile and go see SATC2 last night! Photos at TMZ!

I just have to laugh at the lengths addicts will go to get what they need…………pathetic!

  31. Karen says:

I forgot to add…other than copious amounts of alcohol when I’m out with my girls on the weekend, I’m not at all a drug user. I had no idea Oxy was a street drug until I saw an episode of Law & Order (RIP!) where some kid was ripping Oxy pills from his parents.

So yeah, Lindsay is absolutely doing this to delay her SCRAM alarm from going off. Can I just say that “scram” is one of my most favourite words? I hate that it is also the acronym for that damn alcohol monitoring device 🙁

  32. YT says:

Maybe the judge should request the dental x-rays.

  33. original kate says:

my granny always kept a bottle of irish whiskey in the house for medicinal purposes. for a toothache she would pack whiskey soaked cotton around the sore tooth and it worked like a charm. now i keep a bottle in the house too -thanks, gran!

  34. Bull says:

This is bullsh*t…someone with a history of abusing drugs should NOT be prescribed heavy painkillers, plain and simple. That’s what pharmacy-grade IB profen is for. Worked for me…

Wisdom teeth suck, but this kid is a straight-up LIAR! She’s not going to rehab, so she’s going through some unpleasant withdrawal right now, from the narcotics that she’s NOT allowed to have. Now she needs something to bring her down from the narcotics that she is allowed to take, her state-sanctioned adderall…

She already lied about working in Texas. Why should this be any different? LIAR!

  35. Karen says:

Quick, everybody head to Original Kate’s house to party!! 😀

  36. bellaluna says:

@ Karen – Yeah, I needed the good shit too. And yeah, she’s totally milking it to get the good shit.

  37. ShaGlitter says:

i’m waiting for her to get special permission to have communion wine at church…

  38. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

    @Scarlet:

Were we separated at birth? I went through the same process when I was fourteen as well. It wasn’t visible to people (praise God), but I had a really, really messed up jaw that kept my butt firmly placed in a dentist’s, orthodontist’s, or a dental surgeon’s chair between the ages of ten and 23.

    @bellaluna:

It might not be common, but I had oral surgery on a wisdom tooth when I was 23. My first three grew in when I was eighteen and nineteen, and because my jaw is tiny, they gave me ever-lovin’ hell. For whatever reason, the last one was curiously underdevelped and the dentist predicted that it wouldn’t start to erupt until I was at least 21. I was 22, and apparently, if one wisdom tooth doesn’t another one to tell it to stop, it’ll over-extend itself and leave no room for the dormant tooth.

I was violently, violently ill not just because of the pain and the liquid diet into which the blasted thing forced my diet, but because the tiniest spot of broken flesh (and mine was far from tiny) will get infected, no matter how dilligent you are. Brush, floss, syringe, saltwater, peroxide, special mouthwash–I did it all, but you can’t fight a hole in your face. Through all of those almost fourteen years, the only thing I had ever been prescribed was Tetracyclene for the infection and it turned out that I was allergic to that. I bring it up because waiting lists are long as fuck in Canada, and even though I was coughing up blood and hallucinating, I would have had to wait five and a half months for my surgery if some guardian angel hadn’t cancelled and I was able to get that spot which was for the next day.

  39. Praise St. Angie! says:

“as a natural redhead (we tend to have lower pain tolerance and higher tolerance to pain meds)”

off-topic, but that was busted on mythbusters. redheads actually have a HIGHER pain tolerance than non-redheads. the redheads tested lasted an average of (almost) twice as long as non redheads.

also proven on that show…women have a higher pain tolerance than men. not surprising since women have to endure childbirth. and men.

  40. Scarlet Vixen says:

@Praise St Angie: While Mythbusters claim briefly makes me feel better about myself (being told by doctors and dentists for years that I’m a baby because stuff hurts more and I need more novocaine, etc. sucks) several medical studies have been done stating that redheads–due to a mutation in a hormone receptor called the MC1R receptor–tend to have a lower level of tolerance to some kinds of pain, have a higher tolerance to pain medication, and some claim we are also more likely to burise or hemorrhage. I’ll trust medical journals over Mythbusters. No offense. 🙂

  41. Sharonkings says:

Everyone has different experiences. I am 24 and had all four of mine removed last week and I am still in pain! My face is still swollen and I am taking Vicoden which helps the pain, and gives me good sleep. (I waited until they started to hurt to have them removed)

So I am not judging Lindsay in this situation because I know what it feels like, but this is happening to her at such a convenient time, if you know what I mean.

  42. gg says:

The SCRAM bracelet only detects alcohol. Lindsay can sneak drugs whenever she wants and it won’t be detected outside of a few hours. She just can’t drink. The dental ruse is only to cover the times when she has unscheduled drug testing.

Ozzie Osbourne, in an interview, said that he would invent ankle injuries, etc. just so he could get the drugs he wanted. I figured all pill junkies did this. He says now that when he sees a new doctor he has to tell them, “I am an ADDICT – do not give me drugs!”

I got all four of my wisdom teeth cut out and stitched up in a hospital while I was out cold. I took the Tylenlol #3 for two days. The rest was just regular tylenol. Drugs are not necessarily needed for all wisdome tooth extractions.

  43. Praise St. Angie! says:

Scarlet Vixen, what you said doesn’t exactly completely discredit what mythbusters did. and no offense taken, but…

“that the variant of MC1R that causes red hair also appears to allow these opiates to work unimpeded. As a result, redheads can withstand up to 25 percent more pain than their blond and brunet peers do before saying “stop.””

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/11/magazine/11ideas_section3-22.html?_r=2

    and…

“But is it really true that redheads feel more pain? The evidence is surprisingly murky. In fact, some studies suggest exactly the opposite result, that redheads have a higher pain threshold because of their variant of exactly the same gene, the melanocortin 1 receptor gene, or MC1R gene.”

    http://wellness.blogs.time.com/2009/08/12/do-redheads-really-feel-more-pain-the-jurys-still-out/

“thermal” pain was the only kind for which redheads showed a lower tolerance (in ONE study). and most of those studies actually showed that redheads have a heightened sensitivity to anesthetics, so opiate painkillers actually have a stronger effect on them.

  44. DSM says:

This walking freckle is awesome at making anyone near her complicit in her little world of Dysfunction Junction. Even the Judge who apparently chose not to hold her accountable for her lying, her disrespect for the court system and now her need for drugs from a dentist. Guess her next move will be. “We were headed home from the dentist after filling all my scrips and we were in a terrible-terrible car accident and my neck and back, yeah thats it, my neck and back were injured and my Doctor prescribed ” Lol.

  45. bellaluna says:

@ Jo ‘Mama’ – Your ordeal sounds awful! I’m suffering a toothache right now, so I sympathise. It has been good for my weight loss, though. 😉
My wisdom teeth never got a chance to come in – when the dentist saw that one was getting close to erupting, I was sent to an oral surgeon because my mouth barely had enough room for the teeth I already had (after 12 years of orthodontia) and the other wisdom teeth were impacted. Whatever drugs they gave me had me flat on my back within 10 minutes of taking them. I wonder what they gave me?

  46. Ruffian9 says:

    Anything for a fix….

  47. MissyA says:

Once or twice a year, I feel my wisdom teeth coming in/receding. Hurts like hell, but I don’t have the means to go in and get those puppies yanked. So I’m going to go with Dr. Original Kate’s prescription. . . 😉

As for Lindsay, let’s all channel Dana Carvey’s “Church Lady” as we collectively groan, “How conveeeeeeenient!”

  48. Ana says:

I never noticed when my top wisdom teeth came in. I just went to the denist for a cleaning and he found them. They were came in sideways, the bottoms were facing my cheek. Didn’t bother me though.
It amazes me, she has a prescription for Adderall as well. It’s people like her that makes it such a bitch to go to the doctor. I went to the doctor the other day for pain in my side, when I told the receptionist what my appointment was for she said, “You know the doctor doesn’t prescribe pain meds.”
Yea, I wasn’t there for pain meds. I wanted an ultrasound to make sure I didn’t need surgery. I got it and will be paying out the ass for it for a long time. But I still felt insulted, even though I can understand where they are coming from.
Thanks for the info about the medicine ball and impacted wisdom teeth! Learn something new everyday 🙂
I’m so confused about the redheads debate. I wanna know which it is, being the mother of a redhead.

  49. Scarlet Vixen says:

@ Ana: While scientific study is apparently very murky and contradictory on the subject of redheads, pain, medicine, hemorrhaging, etc (on what subject isn’t it contradictory tho?), as a 30 yr old full-blown redhead (freckles and all) I can tell you that I have always had a way higher tolerance to any pain medications I’ve ever taken than pretty much anyone else I know. Vicodin (which I was allergic to as a kid but not anymore) does nothing for me. Same with muscle relaxers, codeine, novocaine, etc. If I take over the counter stuff like tylenol or motrin, I have to take 1000-1500mg. Which is alot, so I try to avoid taking anything at all.

As for pain…that’s relative. All my tattoos have hurt like a b*tch. But when I tore my ankle I never cried and thought it was just sprained for over a year. My son is strawberry blonde and fair-skinned and is one tough little cookie–he fractured his leg a month ago (he’s only 2) but has dealt with the whole ordeal like a trooper! Maybe my new theory is it SEEMS like our pain tolerance is lower because we need more pain meds…

The hemorrhaging issue is debatable, too. When I had my son, the hospital insisted I have a shunt (basically a port for potential transfusion), claiming I was more likely to hemorrhage as a redhead. At first I thought, “Well, I bruise like crazy, so I guess that makes sense.” But I haven’t found any conclusive evidence backing up their claim.

Hope that helps, and enjoy your redhead! 🙂

  50. Isa says:

Thanks Scarlet Vixen! Now I am wondering, when I was in labor I had two shots of pain medication (both of which knocked me out) and the epidural that put me to sleep until it was time to push. When my daughter was born she was so aware and not drowsy at all. I have heard a lot of women say their child was affected by the drugs. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with her being a red head.
I do know that she does seem tough. But whenever she falls or hurts herself we don’t make a big deal about it as long as she is okay. (Now last week when she got fragrance oil in her eye was another story. I was so scared!) Most of the time she doesn’t cry, and if she ever does it never lasts long.

  51. Jag says:

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out at around age 22. So yeah, I can see her getting them out. But I’d make a bet that she got it done now to be on drugs, rather than waiting until it was necessary. Even though they aren’t causing obvious symptoms, impacted wisdom teeth can be doing awful things beneath the gumline.
