Cameron Diaz: “I’m always traveling for c-ck”

Finally! Playboy released the extended excerpts from their interview with Cameron Diaz, and I’m happy to say that she no longer sounds Jennifer Aniston-ish and self-helpy. The biggest quote, the one line that everyone is talking about already is Cameron’s description of the many long-distance relationships she’s had over the years. This is how she explains it: “Oh gosh, I can’t even count how many times I’ve gotten on a plane for love. It’s not unusual in this business; my lifestyle demands it. I’m always traveling for [whispers] c-ck. You’ve got to go where it is.” Amen, sister. Right now I’m looking at a big hunk of Scottish mobster beefcake, and I would do countless “lay-overs” for a piece of that. Anyway, the full Playboy piece is here, and her are some of the better excerpts:

On whether or not she’s seen Seth Rogen high: “I might have seen Seth high but didn’t completely know it. I went to a party one night where I think there was some stoneage. People were definitely pretty baked, but I didn’t partake with him at that time. [laughs] He might have been high the entire time for all I know.”

On Snoop Dogg, who attended her high school: “Snoop was a year older than me. He stood out. He was tall and skinny and wore ponytails all over his head. I’m sure I probably bought weed from him.”

On her embarrassing encounter with Jeff Bridges: “I saw Jeff Bridges at this year’s rehearsal for the Oscars ceremony. I didn’t know what to say, but I rushed over and was like, ‘Um, hi. Congratulations on everything. You must be so excited,’ and he gave me this sideways look and smile. We just didn’t connect. There was no response. I was like, Okay. Then I started sweating and thinking, Wait, he’s nominated, right? Or did I just totally make an ass of myself?”

On the types of roles she chooses: “Working with Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York put a lot of things in perspective for me. I saw the way he worked and the outcome of his hard work. I could do exactly what he does and have completely different results. Why would I put myself in the position of trying to do something only Daniel Day-Lewis can do?…I do the roles I do because of the person I am.”

On others’ opinions of her work: “Whether other people consider my accomplishments to be successful or not doesn’t matter to me. I don’t give a f-ck what other people think. I have my own standards I live by.”

On her famous booty: “My booty has been on hiatus from film but certainly not from everyday life, where it doesn’t stop moving. It’s in constant sway and has a mind of its own. On camera, though, there just hasn’t been an opportunity for it to assert itself lately.”

On her primal instincts: “I’m primal on an animalistic level, kind of like, ‘Bonk me over the head, throw me over your shoulder. You man, me woman.’ Not everybody has the right kind of primal thing for me…I love physical contact. I have to be touching my lover, like, always. It’s not optional.”

On the widespread belief that Anna Faris mocked Cameron in Lost in Translation: “She’s lovely, talented, funny, and I love watching her. I have no ill feelings toward her whatsoever. You can’t hurt my feelings. I’m the first to make fun of myself.”

[From Playboy]

Ooooh, I’ve never heard Cameron directly address that Lost In Translation rumor/fact/theory, that the character Anna Faris played was based on the way Cameron Diaz flirted with Sofia Coppola’s then-husband, director Spike Jonze (who directed Cameron in Being John Malkovich). While I’ll buy that Cameron doesn’t have any ill feelings towards Anna Faris, I would love to know how she feels about Sofia. And I would love to know how Sofia feels about Cameron. That would be an awesome bitchfight. Also, I couldn’t help but chuckle at her Jeff Bridges story. He must have been like, “Who is this crackhead?

By the way, these photos are from last night’s Knight and Day premiere in Spain. I don’t hate the dress, but the hair and makeup is totally off. Camy looks hard, you know?

    Love her shoes!!

  2. N.D. says:

now, with all the fillers, botox and facelifts that won over hollywood women who dare to age naturally look way to weird and you can’t help but think that they look older than they should unless you get out and see real unaltered people of the same age.

  3. Granger says:

Cameron’s looked “hard” for a few years. I think she spends a lot of time in the sun, and parties like a champ. Great body, though!

  4. Ogechi says:

Seriously, long distance rltnship isn’t an easy one. Am in one now, squeezing out time & flying almost every 2wks to meet him or him coming over, struggling to keep tab wt our priest for marriage course, talking long on phone, planning wedding when we are far from each other etc. Am really getting tired. It was fun in d beginning and i really don’t know at this point-SAD.

  5. Johnthing says:

    Her Lipstick is garish.

  6. The Truth Fairy says:

I love her! She always rocks out with her c*ck out. She has fun with her life and I think that’s cool.

  7. mln says:

She’s no Jenn… Cam may be a little flaky but she is a confident woman

  8. Riley says:

I agree that Cammy has had some really awful plastic surgery. She looks more waxy and plasticy than Demi Moore. A lot more… Plus, I kinda hate when women think they are cute when they are pushing 40. It is one thing to think you are cute at 25 but at 40 it is hard to get away with it. Kate Hudson is almost reaching this point where the cute act just ain’t cute anymore.

  9. clare says:

She just seems “off” to me. And when asked about her “primal instincts” – all I can think about is Justin Timberlake made her feel this way?

  10. Kitty2000 says:

“I do the roles I do because of the person I am.”

Thank God, finally an actress who doesn’t try to pretend the romcom is serious art for which she has to dig deep and go method.

  11. lucy2 says:

I think she’s looked hard for a while now too. She needs to find a softer look with her makeup, I think.
She’s always seemed a little goofy, but she does sound happy.

  12. just says:

did’nt Jennifer handle you kind of over saturated bloggers people?, who pick on her every second of your life. I mean if i were Jennifer not only Self help, i will need more thing to deal with you kind of bloggers and other media outlet daily ritual of mention her name for every littel thing that does not even relate to her.

  13. Kitty2000 says:

@Riley. I agree about the cute thing, though it is hard to remember how the hell old you are. I’m always looking at little dresses and things like that and saying “Oh that’s adorable” and my inner voice says ‘Catherine, you’re 40, don’t even think about it.’ Damn that inner voice. Just quietly, it sounds a lot like my mother…

  14. Shay says:

It’s not a surprise (her traveling for c_k). She has already ‘conquered’ Hollywood, there’s nothing or no one new left in Hollywood for her.
    (I know…mean…but I couldn’t resist.)

  15. crash2GO2 says:

I think the matte red lipstick is what makes her look hard. She would look so much better in softer, glossy colors. Other than that, I think she looks great. And her story about Jeff Bridges made me LOL

  16. RHONYC says:

    WHOA!

when did her legs take a turn for the ‘katie holmes’ at the knees?!?

    :-O

she’s been thin forever…what happened? sheesh.

    god, i hate aging 🙁

  17. meme says:

she looks hard and she tries even harder. can’t stand her.

  18. Feebee says:

I like the dress and the shoes but the pigeon-toed stance ruins the look. I thought the headline probably sums her up, not necessarily in a bad way and the interview was for Playboy after all.

Aging’s a bitch, even Cameron Diaz has to work a little harder now.

  19. onyx says:

yeah, that’s because C..ck ain’t coming to you, if anything, C..ck is trying to get away from your scary a..

  20. mary jane says:

I don’t see plastic surgery. Only filler.

Everyone LOVES physical contact with their “lover”. It’s called chemistry and we’ve ALL been there Cam. Why does she think she’s special because of that?

  21. Strawberry says:

She still looks awesome.. in the body.

  22. Shawna says:

@MaryJane, I think it would be interesting to find out WHY she thinks it’s exceptional. Apparently she’s come across people who don’t do it as a rule, and wouldn’t you like to know who?

  23. Lulu says:

I had to laugh. I can’t believe that crazy quote and underneath- someone comments, ” Love those shoes!”

She can say anything, apparently, and we are like- “Wow, you could really use some restylane!

  24. d says:

“she looks hard” – it’s the red lipstick.

  25. jzhz says:

Good for her! I’d travel for it, too, if I could afford to diversify! Not everyone wants to settle down.

  26. mary jane says:

@Shawna oooo yes, I see your point…. would love to know who!

  27. normade says:

Amazing what she said about DDL, let me paraphrase: “I saw what it takes to be a real serious actor and knew I could never cut it so I stick to the fluffy stuff now”

  28. normade says:

but it’s nice to know she’s OK with being an airhead and a slut

  29. gg says:

Ew, that is a gross statement (the headline). I don’t want that visual thanks.

Ladies, bright red lipstick always ages you. So does baking in the sun.

  30. original kate says:

cammy looks so leathery from all the suntans. also, her skin is notoriously bad – lots of pockmarks, etc. which i think makes her look older. she should try softer hair and makeup.

  31. alexandra says:

@N.D You totally nailed it. We have become a society of complete contradictions. Your damn if you do, you are damn if you don’t.

  32. Patrice says:

I love what she says about the whole “me man, you woman” thing. It’s fantastic and I couldn’t agree more!

But I don’t understand why the Jeff Bridges encounter is considered embarrasing…he WAS nominated at the time and she only asked him if he was excited. Who wouldn’t have done that? It’s a legitimate thing to ask right?

  33. Patrice says:

Oh, anyone else pick up on the whole “but I didn’t partake with him AT THAT TIME” line? I love it! I really like it when celebs are pot heads : ) It makes them more relateable in a way…lol

  34. Jeri says:

She has been looking “hard” for a while. I’ve noticed it along with garrish make-up Not sure what she did or if she did anything. Guess ARod doesn’t mind.

  35. Camille says:

    The new Leatherface.

  36. Slymm27 says:

She has bad skin. Yeah, she has to travel for c-ck, cause it aint coming to her.

  37. gerray says:

yeah her style is soooo embarrassing too
