LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet are officially divorced. It was finalized this weekend, I think, so LeAnn is officially single and ready to fulfill her dream of marrying someone not afraid of vaginas. That’s mean, I’m sorry. Dean Sheremet seems like a nice guy, and he must be feeling a little raw and vulnerable right now. Either that, or he’s drinking Mojitos in his fabulous New York apartment (that LeAnn paid for), thinking about which one of the party boys he’s going to call for a quickie. So that just leaves LeAnn – and her dream. Unfortunately, E! News is reporting that Eddie Cibrian’s divorce from Brandi is probably going to drag on even longer now that Eddie has been fired from CSI: Miami. You see, they now have to renegotiate their settlement. Plus, Eddie blames Brandi for losing the gig.
LeAnn Rimes is so over Dean Sheremet. But don’t hold your breath on her being the new Mrs. Eddie Cibrian anytime soon.
The 27-year-old country songbird’s divorce was finalized on Friday, six months after she and Sheremet, 29, reached a settlement and about a year since her torrid on-set affair with Cibrian doomed her marriage to her former backup dancer.
However, while Cibrian and his estranged wife, Brandi Glanville, had been close to ending their own marriage, his recent unemployment situation has thrown a monkeywrench in their settlement plans.
Cibrian was dumped from CSI: Miami after producers declined to pick up his contract.
“He blames bad press from his ex for losing his job,” a source close to the couple tells E! News. “Now they are at ground zero with negotiations. He is trying to pay her nothing.”
Glanville is now worried about keeping up her lifestyle in the wake of his loss of income.
“He reneged on everything and now she doesn’t know how she is going to pay for everything,” says the insider. “She just leased a car and a new house, and with the potential of losing Eddie’s support, she’s freaking out.”
On the bright side, Cibrian can always mooch off Rimes, whom he stuck close to during a weekend performance in Orange County. He had no immediate comment on his looming divorce, but Rimes was far from reticent.
“It makes me sad that the media once again can take something as personal as a divorce and make it a top news story. It’s hard enough dealing with it on our own. Sucks to see it in your face at all times,” she tweeted on Sunday.
“Well, maybe now we can move on. Thx to all my friends and fans for their unwavering support of both Deane and me. We’ve both needed it! Your love means a lot.”

Us Weekly had it first on their news feed over the weekend, meaning there wasn’t a lot of celebrity news – but it didn’t crack the top five of the most read. It didn’t crack the top five on People Magazine either. So what is LeAnn sanctimoniously bitching about? She thinks everyone cares so much about her, and she’s begging us not to make it a “top news story.” Mission accomplished, dumbass.
As far as Eddie’s CSI: Miami firing and how it affects his divorce – eh. Eddie will get another gig. And he’ll pay child support and whatever else. The only thing Brandi should worry about is LeAnn figuring out that she should be playing hardball, you know? As soon as LeAnn realizes that this whole process might speed up if she gets herself and her money out of it, Brandi is going to get financially screwed.
I just realized who Eddie looks like when he wears sunglasses. Doesn’t he look like Scott Peterson? Ugh.
LeAnn is loving every moment of this. For the first time in her life, a guy wants to touch her AND she’s kind of in the news.
It wasn’t bad press that got Cibrian shit canned – CBS is cutting actors wherever they can these days. In the long run, someone has to pay for Charlie Sheen.

Eddie is still working and being paid until the network figures out how they’ll finish off his character.
The California courts (esp. LA county) deal with an actor’s up-and-down source of employment often enough that I’m certain they know how to handle such cases. If something doesn’t manifest for him and the support payments were set too high, he goes back for a revision or support modification hearing.
Yeah, it sucks to be cheated on, but the rest of the women in this world, who are not married to actors, get jobs and change their life style in the wake of a divorce. I had to. Boo hoo.

Brandi should explore her talents and figure out what kind of work(even only part-time) would be fulfilling. It would help her to distance herself from the open wound she still suffers from.

I had a friend (female) in a long term unmarried relationship and they took her life style into account & raised her child support payments – (her boyfriend did very well financially) she thought she was safe if they did not marry. They married not long after.
I don’t know why people automatically think a divorce is finalised from 6 months of the date of filing.
I’m not famous, and my divorce wasn’t finalised until AFTER my (now) ex had:
Fathered a child with his side-dish;
Replace the cat I’d taken w/ me & the kids when we left;
Asked her to marry him;
Had a wedding date, venue, outfits, rings, etc…scheduled for within 3 weeks.
THEN he decided (after over 3 years!) he was in a hurry to sign the divorce papers he never even acknowledged receiving. (They were always conveniently “lost in the mail.”)
Brandi gladly bad-mouthed Eddie to anyone who would listen – surely she can’t be shocked he’s now unemployed! What did she think would happen? When children are involved, you never, EVER, take for granted you’re in a “set” situation – even when all is said and done, you can always end up in court for an “adjustment.”
Don’t believe Ca. divorce law counts LeAnn’s income or savings towards the childrens’ spt. payments.
Eddie is a good actor..tons of charisma. He was the only reason I watched Third Watch. He is so hot that women are always throwing themselves at him..he won’t stay faithful to Leeann either. Eddie does not look like Scott Petersen…Scott is a flabby mommy’s boy..Eddie is a buff Adonis!

It’s cool. It’s beyond over now, it’s just something that sticks in the memory (unfortunately!) long-term. Luckily I met a good guy (while I was actually out celebrating the finalisation of my divorce!), and we’ve been married almost 9 years.

Hm. So far I did not perceive Brandi’s comments to the press as ‘shooting off her mouth'(and herself in the foot). She went on record what 3 – 5 times? And always after being either severely provoked (Leann’s moving next to her children’s school, sending Brandi a cease and desist from her lawyers, etc).
Considering the way Leann is heaping insults onto injuries, Brandi’s responses were very mature and classy in my eyes.
And while I agree with @ Liana, that Eddie simply became superfluous on his show, it’s way more fun to pretend that CBS has realized that this whole sordid affair made Eddie persona non grata in the public and thus unsustainable.
Eddie Cibrian was all over the tabloids before Brandi Glanville said anything. He has been complicit in the regular paparazzi photo ops with Leann Rimes. Glanville may not have made his employment situation better but I really don’t think she made it much worse.
Don’t get me wrong: I support the idea of Glanville finding employment on her own instead of relying on child support. But I don’t buy into the idea that she had an impact on Eddie Cibrian’s employment status. If CBS was really looking at his reputation (which I’m not convinced it was judging from the Charlie Sheen situation) then Eddie Cibrian did 99% of the damage all by himself.

I think a few people said it for me but I just don’t understand how a woman expects an ex-husband to pay for her to live for the rest of her life. When you get a divorce it’s time for plan B. I have to laugh at LeAnn tweeting about how personal her divorce is. On the day of her divorce she was at the beach having sex with another woman’s husband. I doubt very much she even knew her divorce was finally final. There are absolutely no limits to LeAnn’s sense of entitlement.

I have such an issue with spousal support. Child support – yeah. You pay to help care for the children that YOU fathered. You gave them a certain lifestyle and that shouldn’t be changing drastically because you no longer want to be with their mother. But really – women who demand thousands a month in spousal support – get a job. The gravy train should end after a specified amount of time. Get divorced, get a settlement that is fair (and learn to invest and budget it wisely), get a house in the settlement (for the children’s sake), and spousal support for a specified amount of time (6 months, a year…) get a job, get child support, and get over it. Stop trying to live completely on someone else’s dime.

Now, you do not think she is deserving of Eddie support her until she can go back to school and get a professional job? She devoted the best young years of her life to Eddie and his children and the requires that Eddie compensate her. It’s the law. When LeAnn throws Eddie to the curb, he’ll get his bone with a tell all book.

Rita is right. Courts do take into account women raising children, which is a job. If a woman leaves a career to raise kids and then the guy decides to find a side piece and leave, he has a responsibility to the wife and the children, sorry but it is true.

In CA, you get spousal support for a length of time HALF the duration of the marriage…UNLESS you hit the magical 10 year anniversary PRIOR to separation/divorce filing (see Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman). Once that magical number is achieved, spousal MAY be ordered to continue until remarriage or however long the judge decides.
HOWEVER, if the other person is physically and mentally able to work, but unwilling to do so, they may be COMPELLED by the judge to find employment. TRUTH.

There’s speculation that LeAnn had Eddie leave CSI so he could claim he can’t afford Brandi’s support. This makes sense to me. LeAnn wants to get married before her album is released so now they may be trying to bully Brandi with the threat of giving her nothing unless she signs the settlement papers. With Eddie out of work for the summer he can follow LeAnn on tour and she’ll get him a job in the fall. I think LeAnn got him the job in the first place and this type of behavior fits Rimes to a T. LeAnn has a whole crew of attorneys, advisers, PR staff, hatchetmen, and web posters working on this and the only thing standing in her way is Brandi’s signature. What sort of a man or woman would threaten a single mother with poverty if she does not comply? Those people would have to be selfish, greedy, manipulative, liars who care only about themselves.
