WHAT? Art/Artist my ass. I listen to all of his albums and although I found the beats and rhythms of some of the songs quite catchy and enjoyable, his lyrics on the other hand are plain, meaningless and stupid (similar to any other rapper/ artist), there is no substance in his music and I do not know who actually fake praised him that there is.
As I always said before, he is one in a big line of mediocre (and I am being nice) ‘artist’ that think that if they keep telling people how good they are long enough then someone my actually be persuaded.

Doesn’t anyone find it curious that the least talented and capable individuals are always the ones who seem to develop the most pathologically over-magnified egos?
Mr West should fall on his knees and pray in gratitude for the fact that ANYONE cares even remotely about him, given that he has no talent whatsoever. Stealing (oh, sorry, it’s called ’sampling’) other people’s work and creating a looping beat while you talk incoherently in psalmody isn’t talent - it’s called being a cultural embarrassment.
Let’s see how long it takes for this cretin to disappear into obscurity. As all manufactured products, rappers also seem to have an expiration date… thankfully enough.

Might I add two things:
1) The EW writer is the husband of a faithful Celebitchy reader; and
2) Kanye took off the last line of his rant that he had initially posted, which read, “Kill yourself Chris Willman!”You can see the blog with that line on it on TMZ (although I hate to send people from such a quality blog as Celebitchy over to TMZ).

It’s sad people cannot see the greatest of this artist.
He doesn’t have to kowtow to black or white people, and for that he frightens people.
Truly he’s as great as Jim Morrison of the Doors, the deaf, and
dumb people can’t see it.
Greatness is miss understood. -
^ I agree with you Brent. Anyone who actually went to the Glow In The Dark Tour knows that the concert was freakin amazing!!! A+ for sure.

Enonymouse, i agree what everyone is saying, but i must say you’re wrong about Kanye’s music he does have good music with meaning and there is some hip hop that is real and has meaning its just not what you hear everyday.

His arrogance really doesn’t offend me, I see him more as a character and a really good entertainer.
I have to disagree about his lyrics being meaningless, from the stat he’s made it a point to talk about heavy issues, how many rappers take on the Diamond trade?
I’ve read reviews and heard word of mouth about the glow in the dark concert and I’m going when he comes to NYC.
Not everyone can be humble, it’d be boring and I like the fact that he understands what a true entertainer is supposed to do.

jesus brent its because of sheeps like you is the reason why he has an ego like he does. In the end he does aim his music at white and black people since he goes on mtv and bet to promote albums. The only reason Jim Morrison is considered great is that he died before his career took the enevitable dive that all artist go through. If i recall which im not 100% on this but didn’t he liken himself to jesus at one point? Im not a over religous person but he may have a bigger problem on his hands than a ok tour review.

Wow, what a worn-out, stretched-thin attitude to affect. I can name about six other alleged artists who claim the same bullsh*t ideology and not one of them is worth a flying f*ck. How about someone who actually appreciates his audience and is gracious to them for his fame and his wealth FOR ONCE?
No- then he wouldn’t be some spoiled upper-middle-class suburban white boy’s hero anymore.

pop art? andy warhol was pop art. period. not to mention the fact tht pop art is a bit dated venue now. Much more 60’s 70’s. pop culture possibly but then kanye isn’t the jay-z he thinks he is.

Kanye has the same argument that people have on any blog site when you don’t agree with them. It’s the “your just jealous because you’re old and fat,” etc. But “your” is spelled “ur.”
I don’t mind Kanye’s music but him as a person, good God he needs a good punching. Just a good beat down in front of an audience so he’ll humble out a bit.
And just because you like an artist, doesn’t mean you have to love their concert. I love U2 and have seen them in concert a number of times but I wasn’t impressed with their Vertigo tour. Mainly the venue sucked, I think the band felt that too and they decided to suck up Elevation and not play Bad. WTF???
And I agree with D. Jim Morrison was just ridiculously pretentious.
