Well, it looks like Radar had better sources than TMZ last night – early Tuesday evening, Radar reported that Lindsay Lohan had already signed her own release forms for UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Lindsay was there for 23 days, and during her court-ordered stay, doctors discovered that she had been “misdiagnosed” with ADHD, and that her years of Adderall usage was just getting her high after all. Still no apologies or compensation though!
The word from various sources surrounding Lindsay legal case and her treatment is that the UCLA doctors were all “she’s not really a crackhead, she just acts that way because she’s an a–hole, personality disorders aren’t our bag, baby.” And the new Judge was all “Sure, whatev.”
TMZ also reports that Lindsay’s rehab stay came at a cost of $40,000 a week, and that Lindsay’s Screen Actors Guild insurance didn’t cover it:

Before continuing … we’ll answer what we know you’re asking. We’re told Lindsay’s insurance (SAG) does not cover treatment at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital.
Sources at UCLA tell us the base rate for treatment at the Hospital is $17,850 a week, which does not include the cost of doctors, testing, medication, or therapists. All tolled, Lindsay’s bill came to $40,000 a week.
Here’s what’s crazy … Judge Marsha Revel ordered 13 weeks of treatment, which would have brought the bill to $520,000. According to the docs, Judge Revel overreacted and Lindsay was released after only 23 days — almost 3 1/2 weeks. That reduces the cost to a very reasonable $130,400.

It’s almost enough to make me feel sorry for her. But then I remember that she’s probably doing lines of coke off of a donkey’s ass in Tijuana right about now. Oh, but she’s going to do “outpatient rehab” now! Riiight.

I actually feel sorry for her, no matter what she does. Seriously, poor LiLo… her life is a mess and there’s nothing she (or anyone else) can do about it, it’s too late; this will NEVER end.

It seems unfair that in the US you can be forcibly sent to rehab and then have to pay for it.
I’m not saying she shouldn’t have been sent because i think she should have stayed the whole time but then making you pay for it too?
She looks so much better with her natural hair colour in the top pic, I hope she’s at least learnt some things about her issues when she was inside :/

Really, $17,500 for a hospital *room* for a week. Plus doctorin’ and nursin’ and pathologistin’ and no doubt laundryin’ too.
Now, one of you funny people that talked about how *death squads* would choose who got treatment and who got TO DIE under the mooted american universal heath system – explain this to me please. Explain how this can be justified. Please quantify how this service fairly may expect this money in recompense. And explain again how the private sector encourages competitivness that drives prices down.
Proviso: must be rational.

@lita. It’s hard to respond to a post that is semi-comprehensible, but I’m surmising you’re not from the U.S.
It’s a simple explanation really, occurs even in countries where health care is socialized. Your answer–as you already stated–is privitazation. Nevertheless, you go to a ‘public’ ER in Canada, that band-aid you got is estimated at $40-$100. Take up the issues with the insurance companies, not with the independent facilities who are merely complying with codes they need to fill out in order to keep them legit. In other news, welcome to the real world Ms. Lohan.

I feel really sorry for this young woman. The judge tried to help her, but somehow Lindsay seems to “luck out” of all her responsibilities. The judge probably should have given her x hours of community service for each week that she ended up out of rehab as part of a probation and insisted that she live in some sort of halfway house.
She may not have been addicted but she clearly has some problems. One of these days she’s going to accidentally “off” herself from some incident related to really bad judgment.

I’m surprised the SAG didn’t cover some of the cost of her rehab. but I’m sure now that she’s out everyone will be at her for the first interview and will pay some sort of outrageous amount of money for it.

yup, basically how i always feel when i read anything about her! and while i have no doubt that her narcissistic personality will land her in legal troubles [again] soon, i just hope she doesnt kill an innocent person before the judicial system catches up with her

@original kate: It’s a blurry nature/culture thing. Her mother, after all–barring her daughter’s successful capitalizing on scandalous public behavior–is approximately a 50-year-old LI housewife. What’s amazing is how that aesthetic, so persistently ugly in context on LI, gets so much love from the cameras. There are thousands of women and their daughters who have looked exactly like that for decades on LI.

Ok I am not sure if anyoneagrees but with the most recent Paris news I feel like it only shows this girl is more worthless. Why doesn’t she do something worthwhile with her daddy’s money? Like donate time, money, or anything to someone who needs help. This would be much better. Don’t you think?
