This Fantasia Barrino keeps getting seedier and grosser. According to this week’s National Enquirer, Fantasia is three months pregnant with her sort-of married lover’s baby. This… ugh.
So… here’s everything that has happened in the past month: Paula Cook filed for divorce from Antwaun Cook, publicly naming Fantasia as “the other woman” and detailing Antwaun and Fantasia’s affair, which has been going on for more than a year. Fantasia comes out and (through her batsh-t crazy manager) denies Paula’s accusations. Fantasia then overdoses on aspirin and sleeping pills, making sure that her manager is right downstairs to save her when she texts him to say goodbye. Tasia is then hospitalized for a few days, then immediately after leaving the hospital she meets with Antwaun and her manager releases another statement where Tasia cops to the affair, but basically says it’s cool because Jesus forgives her. Tasia then goes on a post-suicide attempt promotional tour and resumes filming on her reality show. The whole thing becomes the theatre of the absurd – drama queen narcissism and pity-me self-victimization, mixed with unflattering clothing and really bad peen haircut. And now she’s probably pregnant! UGH:
Fantasia Barrino is telling pals she’s pregnant! She says she’s expecting her boyfriend Antwaun Cook’s baby – and is determined to marry him as soon as his divorce is final, insiders say.
“She’s about three months along, and it’s definitely Antwaun’s baby,” a close family friend revealed. “Right now she can’t show how happy she is in public – but she’s absolutely thrilled. Fantasia got what she wanted. She feels Antwaun will have to marry her now.”

The article goes on to recap the Paula Cook situation, and how Paula is likely going to sue Fantasia under North Carolina’s homewrecking laws. But here’s an interesting quote from the same unnamed friend of Fantasia: “Fantasia took the pills, but she knew what she was doing. Fantasia had no intention of taking her life. I think it was just a plot she cooked up to push Antwaun’s buttons. And it worked… Fantasia is a master manipulator… when Paula finds out Fantasia is pregnant and Antwaun is the father, she’s going to flip… [meanwhile] Fantasia is very pleased with herself.” I believe this. 100%. This is what is at play – a narcissistic drama queen making a public play for attention. What I’m not sure of is whether Tasia is really knocked up – that could totally be another ploy for attention too. Add to that… well, wouldn’t that overdose of sleeping pills affect the baby?

She’s a sad person. I hope her daughter (son?) has some more stable people in her life who are actually giving her the attention and care she deserves. Fantasia seems so messed up that she can’t even take care of herself, let alone have another person depend on her. And trying to do it in the spotlight probably is not helping!

Gross. Can someone enlighten me as to what her “career” consists of these days? Also, I’m pretty sure that if she was in the hospital for her “suicide”, at some point it would have been asked if there was a possibility of pregnancy. Isn’t there some kind of law against trying to kill yourself when you’re pregnant? Should be, if there isn’t.

@SolitaryAngel: Baloney–drugs enter the mother’s blood stream then go straight to the baby nearly immediately. Mother’s blood is like a fast track straight to your baby. Also, if she was unconscious from the drugs, lack of oxygen and a slower heartrate could also negatively affect a baby. The affects are especially magnified in the first trimester, when the baby’s organs are rapidly developing.
IF she was pregnant (which I guess we’ll find out for sure soon), I think she’s a disgusting and selfish human being for pulling a stunt that could kill or seriously harm her baby simply for attention/tv ratings.

But I am very curious about “North Carolina’s homewrecking laws”, mostly the penalty for the homewrecker. Who is it considered to be? The other woman or the cheating husband?

If she is really pregnant, I certainly hope she was not aware of that fact when she did her pseudo-suicide attempt. If she knew, well then, my level of disgust for her just reached genuine pity. She would no longer be human enough to feel disgust towards.

So, is this the first step towards a transition towards Munchausen’s by proxy? I know you’re not encouraged to confirm a pregnancy in the first three months, but unless she’s a candidate for I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant, wouldn’t some indication of her condition have popped up by now? Seeing as how it’s not her first baby, this should kind of be old hat by now–and I’m not talking about her hairdo! I’m here all weekend!

I’m going to go with no on the pregnancy rumor if only for the sake of a second child.
I also don’t want to read how this “miracle” child is helping her over the next six months if it is in fact true. More publicity, more lying, more mess.

not all drugs pass the placenta and babies have survived worse things than their mothers stupidty. Look at Lucy Dahl for instance she was born perfect after her mother academy award winning actress Patricia Neal suffered a series of strokes while pregnant and was in a coma for 3 weeks and later during the rehab from that episode attempted suicide by throwing herself down the stairs because she was scared the baby would be deformed
nor is Fantasia the first star to get pregnant from a relationship with a married man Paul Newman was still married though had filed for divorce from his first wife when Joanne Woodward got pregnant the first time though she miscarried at 4 1/2 months during their honeymoon and was the bigger star at the time as she was nominated for her first oscar and later went on to win it. though they eventually had three daughters plus his two from his first marriage

Yeah, the baby could be ok, if she got her stomach pumped right away. This whole this is just so very sad, though. She is a total mess. When she first won “American Idol,” I was so happy for her…felt she deserved it. She IS very talented…however, she’s squandered that talent for the most part with bad management and some bad songs. She just needs good management and people around her who care baout her. If she’s really pregnant…Man!

I join with others above in sincerely wishing that this chick is not pregnant by her married lover. What is the deal lately with this epidemic of women thinking that the cheating man they are having an affair with is miraculously going to be the perfect faithful man with them? It never plays out like that.
The more I hear about her sordid story, the more it appears Fantasia (is that even her real name? ugh) has severe mental and emotional “challenges.”

Not like either woman is commendable, but at least Alicia Keys didn’t attempt a lame (and dangerous and wreckless) publicity stunt to make people feel sorry for her and boost her career. I just think that if you’re gonna do something so low, the LEAST you can do is own up to it…though maybe not to the extent of A.Keys, who seemed downright proud of herself for snagging Swizz Beatz.
I really hope Fantasia isn’t pregnant, I don’t even know how she is managing to take care of the child she has now! She can barely take care of herself!

Courtney you are correct. The placenta is pretty good and shielding things from the baby. I am not sure what Scarlet Vixen is trying to say but just to clarify, the baby’s blood and mother’s blood do NOT mix. A mother with A+ blood would kill a baby with O- blood if it mixed. No mixing occurs.

Seconding what fwobozo said. Also, teratogens (substances that can harm a fetus and cause birth defects) might be harmful during one trimester, but have no effect during the others. Sometimes this means that ingesting something is safe during the first three months, but not the last six, or safe during the last three, but not the first six. It really depends on the chemicals involved and how likely they are to be absorbed by the placenta and passed on to the fetus. Fantasia’s baby could be fine, or could be damaged.

As for the blogger that posted this fake story, had you been watching fantasia’s television appearances this week, you could have gotten a clear picture of her pregnant-less body. But I get it, bloggers just recycle stories posted on other sites that lists made up inside sources. So when you finally realize she isn’t pregnant afterall, will you retract your statement? Besides she’s still trying to have the baby from the last pregnany rumor when she was doing the color purple. Give her a chance to have that one first.

@ Michelle, I’m sorry but the reputation of a state doesn’t rest on the shoulders of one person just because they happen to be a celebrity. NC isn’t that great of a state anyways.
