Kim Cattrall is going to appear nude in the upcoming Sex and the City feature film – Sarah Jessica Parker has a ‘no nudity’ clause in her contract, and Kristen Davis refused, so it will be interesting to see just how much sex and nudity will appear. It was a pretty controversial thing for prime time television show to feature, and a big part of the success of the series.
Kim Cattrall, who has written two books about sex where she posed nude on the cover, will be featured in all her 51-year-old glory, and her mother Shane is proud.
She (Shane) says, “Kim is a role model for 50-something women. Much has been made about her nudity in the film, but I think she looks fabulous.”
And proud mum Shane, 79, insists people who criticise Cattrall’s on-screen antics are just jealous of her well-preserved body.
She adds, “Anyone who knocks that is jealous. All this fuss about a bit of nudity is ridiculous.”
I am really looking forward to this film. Like the original series, I think it is going to push boundaries. It isn’t often that older women get shown sexually, and rarely are they shown nude. Probably because even the most confident of us doesn’t want the world to judge their body, even when it is appropriately lighted and digitally enhanced.
The Sex and the City movie will also be premiering in London two days before the ‘official’ world premiere in New York, and the four leading ladies will be asking the audience to please not give the plot away. Like the trailer hasn’t already.

As much as I have no interest in seeing Kim Cattrall naked - looking at the rest of the cast, I think they made the best choice.

she should be compensated more for having to shoot nude scenes. SJP has always had a no-nudity clause in her contract with SATC. Both Charlotte and Miranda have done nudity in the series.
had they agreed in the film they would have been compensated at the same rate as Kim Catrall.

I fail to see the interesting point here. She’s appeared nude in the series (lots of bare cleavage scenes and at least two full frontals that I remember). And Snappyfish is right, Davis and Nixon have also shown their boobs (if not their vava, like Catrall) on the show, whereas Ms Prude Parker has always had her no-nudity clause and even in sex scenes, was shown wearing a bra. They just did the same in the movie as in the series. God, I used to be such a SATC fan, now that new movie is ruining the magic of the series for me. That idea was even worse than “let’s do a new Indiana Jones, geriatric style!”. I wish they hadn’t gone through with it.

That’s good that she’ll be nude! She has a fantastic body, why not show it off? I’ve seen it enough times in the series anyway, I’m sure she’ll look great!

Well, the ladies are getting older and probably a bit saggier and more wrinkly. I think most people are afraid to show perceived imperfections in their body, especially if it’s going to be dissected and critiqued all America. Nudity for them now isn’t the same as nudity for them ten years ago. It’s nice to see confidence in an actress.
It was mind-blowing when they convinced Diane Keaton to show up nude in Something’s Gotta Give. It’s hard to even get her out of her turtlenecks.
SJP is a prude, certainly. She’s not even keen on bikinis or sex talk; nudity would be really pushing it for her.

I don’t get it, they showed miranda and charlotte’s boobs a couple times on the show too. I saw them on my 18in. tv, why are they afraid to bare them on the 50 ft tall screen?

Well - as she was often unclothed in the series - I do suppose it would stand to reason Ms, Cattrall would also appear in the nude in the movie. She seems quite fit and also quite level headed about her body. I have the feeling that when she reaches her Mom’s age .. she will also feel free to be nude - in public or on the big/small screen. Good for her. I wish more people would have the same openness about sex and body as Ms. Cattrall. We would all be much better off.

Film reads veeeery different on a huge screen..they set up the lighting for hours! She looks fab for any age….probably helps that she never had kids.

I’m not prude, but Kim Cattrall as an actress comes off as little more than a horny slut. She enjoys her sex scenes a little too much–I doubt if they’re even simulated. I wouldn’t put it past her to have actual intercourse on camera. I can’t stand her.

Cattrall is that “grape”. Sweet, sublime,
and ripe for the pickings. Without Kim, the SATC franchise would be a yawn, sure-
we all “love” the other women, they all compliment each other, and Sara Jessica
Parker is fascinating as Carrie Bradshaw.
Kim Cattrall is however, inspiring to all
of her fans, because she is phenomenal & “fabulous”!
