Paris Hilton got special treatment in Las Vegas jail, police chief explains

Paris Hilton is in Hawaii, on vacation. You know, because it’s just so grueling being such a dumbass cokehead. There are photos of her here – she’s posing in a bikini, absolutely thrilled that she’s getting attention again. Anyway, regarding her arrest in Las Vegas a few weeks ago – apparently, Paris got special treatment. Shocking, I know. The police chief of Las Vegas just gave an interview where he tried to explain why Paris got “special treatment” when she was booked for possession – basically, he says that she would have caused major hassles for the other inmates, etc:

When Paris Hilton was busted in Las Vegas last week for alleged cocaine possession, she went straight to the express line at the Clark County Detention Center — where she was processed in half the time (three hours versus six) it normally takes for charged criminals. But it wasn’t V.I.P. treatment, authorities insisted.

“She was treated differently,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon told The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “So I don’t have a disruption of my process here at the county jail.”

Dixon continued: “When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I’d have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I’d have disruptions.”

Dixon insisted that the heiress was still subjected to normal booking procedures despite the speedy entrance and exit.

After cops found cocaine in her purse two weekends ago, Hilton, 29, was charged with felony cocaine possession and faces up to four years behind bars.

The “matter will be dealt with in the courts, not in the media” her attorney said August 28. “I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law.”

“I’m so thankful to all my fans for all the love and support you are giving me,” Hilton Tweeted to fans shortly after being released.

Eh. I mean, I can understand his argument, I suppose. And if she was still booked the same way as everyone else, what does it matter if she didn’t get the same treatment in the jail cell as everyone else…? But I still think that everything should have happened according to how they treat everyone else. Would a normal, everyday, non-famous hooker have to sit in a jail cell, waiting to be booked, for half the night? If the answer is “yes” than why is THIS hooker getting special treatment? It’s not like Paris is even some award-winning artist or something, you know? If this was about Meryl Streep getting special treatment for cocaine possession (perish the thought), I would say “Yes, she deserves some leeway, she’s fabulous.” But it’s Paris. Eh.

I suppose it’s too much to hope that the special treatment she received involved a good slap upside the head?

I am stunned that it requires 6 HOURS to book anyone.

Even the 3 hours seems ridiculously long.

I would think that Vegas has the very best system to get people booked. And tied directly into NCIC, so running for priors and outstanding warrants should only take seconds.

And I completely buy his reason for getting her booked and kicking her out of his jail. ASAP.

Who wants to deal with her calling the paps to come photograph her leaving the jail again?

I’m certain people from the court system and the police are easily bought out. I mean, all those rich owners of casinos and other rich people in Vegas have dealt with the police there and the court system, so I’m sure the Hilton’s will find a way to get favored by the police or courts in Vegas. I won’t be shocked if she just gets a slap on the wrist at the end of the day.

To be honest I can imagine having Paris in custody is a pain. Not just for the distraction but listening to her complain and whine.

She is so gross with her poses. And what is up with her lips? And hasn’t her shelf life expired already? I’d be happy if I never saw another picture of her ever again.

I can understand wanting her out as soon as possible, who would want to have to look at or talk to her? Yuck.

Someone should let her know she doesn’t really have “fans”.

You know – i just don’t care at anything regarding Paris Hilton. She is just boring and not interesting. Whatever. If she will go to jail – let it be. If not – i don’t care. I don’t even read the news about her. I only opened this one to write comment.

And do you see that Lindsay Lonah after her jail time become just as boring as Paris? The only reason she was so high in media was because everyone wanted her to go to jail. Now that she went – people lost interest. She goes around every night – but who cares?

I think part of why you are willing to give Merle Streep a pass is because she WOULDN’T do anything like that. If she did get busted for something, she wouldn’t go all stupid.

The Chief has a point, she needs to be sped trough the process to avoid for the whole facility to get STDs.

I hate her smug camera poses. She is a prime example of a person with narcissistic personality disorder

If she was stripped of all her wealth and fortune – her special treatment would be turning tricks in a street alley.

I sign on to that Kiska; anyone catch the juxtaposition of her with Angelina Jolie trying to do some good in flood-ravaged Pakistan in the below pic; why can’t some natural disaster wash away the useless emptiness of Paris Hilton permanently.
