Dannii Minogue, Kylie’s little sister and sort-of a star in her own right, (I haven’t heard much about her but I guess she’s bigger in the UK and her native Australian) has a new biography out, uncreatively titled My Story. At 38 she’s been married and divorced and had her first baby, a little boy, this summer. Minogue worked as a judge on British TV competition show The X Factor from 2007-2010 when she took time off for her pregnancy. She worked alongside Sharon Osbourne her first year, and in her new book she tells stories about how Sharon bullied and cursed her out regularly, which is not surprising given all the other people Sharon has been in feuds with, many of whom have not personally provoked her at all. News of The World has excerpts from Kylie’s book and I’ll just include a segment here where Minogue explains how Sharon laid into her just 20 minutes before she was due to go on for the first time. It was Dannii’s 36th birthday and she was running late for her first live X Factor show due to an impromptu celebration thrown by her friends and crew.
Rumours had been rife in the press that the two women on the judging panel didn’t get on, and Sharon sent an assistant to Dannii’s room saying she wanted to see her. But the Aussie singer didn’t have time before the show.
Then, just as Dannii was having her make-up finished, Sharon burst in, wearing just a dressing gown. Dannii recalls: “Sharon snapped, ‘All this b****cks in the press is ruining my life. You could be telling them I’m a nice person but instead you’re adding fuel to the fire by saying nothing.’
“I told her: ‘Sharon, I’ve never said anything bad about you, and I wouldn’t say anything bad about you.’
“But she didn’t seem interested. ‘I don’t need this!’ she squeaked. ‘I’m a mother, for f***’s sake, do you think I need all this s*** in my life?’
“I tried reasoning with her. ‘Sharon, they are just stupid press stories about a non-existent feud. All I’ve ever done is tell people how much I admire you but they don’t want to print it.’
“‘Oh, don’t play the innocent,’ Sharon spat. ‘Cos if you wanna play games, Missy, I’ll play… don’t you worry, I’ll play!’
I froze in my chair as furious Sharon came towards me
“I turned to look at my friends Terry and Mark, whose mouths had fallen open in horror. Then I caught a glimpse of my make-up girl Karen, who was frozen, holding a mascara wand in mid-air.
“By now Sharon – the 2006 Celebrity Mother of the Year – was screaming at me, furiously.
“My palms were clammy and my chest was tight. I noticed Terry had disappeared, then seconds later he reappeared with two producers, Claire Horton and Mark Sidaway. ‘This is not the time or place for this – 20 minutes before we go on air, Sharon,’ Claire said firmly. ‘Let’s talk about this later, shall we?’ But Sharon wouldn’t leave, and finally, with about 10 minutes to go before the broadcast, the producers had to remove her from my dressing room, ranting as she went.
“The minute she left, I burst into tears. Someone I admired greatly had relentlessly bawled in my face for 20 minutes and ruined not only what should have been one of the best nights of my life but my birthday as well.
“It was now five minutes before I was due to go on live television in front of 12 million people, and I had make-up streaming down my face.
“‘What the f*** am I supposed to have done?’ I said. ‘It’s not you, Babe,’ Terry said. ‘I think she knew exactly what she wanted to do, which was screw with your head five minutes before your first show.’
“My fabulous make-up girl Karen took charge and cleared the room. Then she sat me back in the chair and turned me around to face her. ‘Right, Dannii,’ she said. ‘You’ve got to go on in five minutes. Whatever happened just then was bulls***, so you’re not going to let someone who isn’t making any sense ruin your big night, right?’
“She literally threw some more make-up on my face, fixed my hair and ushered me to the door.
“When we reached the backstage area, I joined Simon Cowell, Louis and Sharon, ready for our first grand entrance.
“The sliding screen opened and I put my hand out to Sharon, and she took it. I wanted to show her we could be friends.
“As we moved down towards the front of the stage, Sharon lifted up our joined hands in front of the cheering crowd, and I felt relieved. Maybe that’s the end of it, I thought.”
But later that night, when two of Sharon’s acts got the least votes, she stormed off the show, swearing.
Dannii said: “I had a feeling then that it was just the beginning.”
That series proved to be a “rollercoaster of great highs and rotten lows” for Dannii.

Sharon is a nasty piece of work and she’ll pick fights with people and bully them. We don’t need Dannii Minogue to tell us that. Apparently her daughter Kelly blames Dannii for lying or somehow setting her mom off, though. She fired off a bunch of tweets personally attacking Dannii, which is typical of the Osbournes. Here’s what she wrote [via Radar]
Kelly is no stranger to feuds herself and once slapped a reporter for writing negative stories about her then-boyfriend. I guess we know where she learned her conflict resolution skills.

I understand it is Twitter, but it would be nice if Kelly would learn how to spell, even the most remedial of words, such a VICTIM!
I used to like the Osbournes, their show was hilarious, but I think over the years they have really become fond of themselves, and think that they are better than everyone else. Sharon tries to act so upper crust, but when she opens her foul mouth, she quickly proves she is lower than low.

Both Kelly and Sharon are bullies that hide behind the “I am only sticking up for my family” facade.
I don’t exactly love Dannii Minogue but Sharon needs to get over herself.
The tweet that makes me laugh is Kelly saying she’s had 4 years of it. Sharon has done nothing but slam Danni in the crudest way to anyone who will listen, she’s a bitter old hag. As far as I’m aware this is the first time Dannii has put her side of things.

Ha! I remember all the positive posts about Kelly that have gone up in the last few months. Everytime someone praises her I simply wonder if we’re thinking of the same person. You know, the trashy reality tv star who will pick a fight with anyone? The one who’s had the money and time to become a rehab housed addict several times before even turning 25? Yeah, that’s the Kelly Osbourne I remember. She’s no less trashy than a Lohan, in my opinion. I don’t care how much weight she’s lost, or how many people liked her on dancing with the stars. She’s still the same brat we saw on MTV years ago, with the same crass, mean family. Team Danni.

All you have to do is watch some reruns of the Osborn’s to see how Sharon treats people. It is so obvious she did this to
Danni. And Danni did right by putting it out there. Kelly and her mom are so co dependent in a very unhealthy way. Kelly treated people badly just like her mom. Sharon has a little problem called narcissism. Her husband was drugged up and sick on the show and she kept making him do gigs. She likes money. I don’t think the absence of the other daughter from the show was just about her wanting her privacy. I think she had no desire to be exploited by her mother. She seems much closer to Ozzie.
Dannii was always the poor man’s Kylie. Having a baby was the best thing to ever happen to her career.
Kelly’s a brat but she’s actually looking pretty here for once. That hairstyle makes her face look less short and wide.
Sharon and the entire Osbourne clan are reality show scum. Ozzy lost all street cred when he married this money hungry fame whore!

I somehow had forgotten how much of low rent bogan Kelly Osbourne is. It doesn’t take a genius to see how awful and nasty Sharon was to Dannii and Kelly is just making the whole situation worse by adding her 10 cents. Defending your mother is one thing but Kelly is just inflaming the situation. I think the Osbournes need to grow up and start taking responsibility for their actions. I know people who have met the Minogue sisters and they have nothing but wonderful things to say about them
Dannii is as much of a nobody here in Aus, as she is in the US. She is vile and annoying, forever trying to hitch herself to sister Kylie.
Not to mention the writing style of this book seems to be reeeaaallly shoddy. Get a better ghostwriter, eh!

I read an interview once with both Minogue sisters where Kylie described herself as a “kitten” and Dannii described herself as more of a “bull dog.”

If you’re going to write a book like this, prepare for backlash. The Osbornes aren’t society role models, but Kelly was only defending her mother – albeit in a very immature way.

Kelly Osbourne is famous for nothing and is as much of a ‘famous relative coat tail rider’ as Dannii Minogue.
The proper response to this doesn’t require an illiterate and foully worded tweet. If Kelly had wanted to defend her mother a well worded press release would have been far more effective in proving her point, however it would have been far less effective at drawing attention to her which is, of course, what she really wanted.
Also, most people don’t have to tweet in defense of their mothers because most mother’s aren’t overly entitled battle axes who treat everyone like scum.
kelly looks amazing. so proud of her for shedding all that weight naturally.
