Paris Hilton denied entry to Japan after cocaine plea

parisnicky

After Paris Hilton plead guilty in Nevada yesterday to two misdemeanors in conjunction with a Vegas arrest for cocaine possession, she boarded a private jet, Louis Vuitton shopping bags in hand, headed for Japan. It was just another day in the life of a woman who makes a living going to events and slapping her name on tacky purses, cheap clothing and fake-looking hair extensions. We thought that might be the last we heard of her unless (until) she violated probation and got sent to jail again. Only Paris wasn’t allowed into Japan following her high profile guilty plea and has been staying at a hotel at the airport while immigration figures out what to do with her. She was in Japan to show her Fall/Winter 2010 clothing collection. I’m sure hoodies and leopard prints are involved.

TMZ has learned Paris Hilton is a captive in a Japanese hotel tonight and can’t enter the country … after being detained at the airport for hours over her guilty plea for cocaine possession.

A source close to Paris tells us she flew to Japan on business and was questioned by immigration authorities as she got off the plane. Immigration authorities are allowing Paris to stay at an airport hotel until the matter is resolved. For her part, Paris hasn’t decided whether to stay or leave.

Paris’ rep tells TMZ, “Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier. Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.”

An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC tells TMZ … Japan is strict about letting people into the country with recent drug convictions but these matters are handled “on a case by case basis.”

Paris’ rep added … she will fulfill her contract but right now things are beyond her control.

We’re told there was a conflict within the ranks of those who questioned Paris — some of whom felt it was for show.

[From TMZ]

Radar has some quotes from an insider in Paris’ camp, and they say “Paris is beyond upset as she was looking forward to this trip for months. Paris doesn’t want to let down her business partners, nor her fans. Paris loves Japan, and Asia and is hoping this can be sorted out so she can proceed with the meetings, store opening, and meet her fans. Paris has the utmost respect for Japan and this mishap has truly devastated her.” Aw, Poor Paris can’t promote her shoddy clothing in Japan because she got busted with cocaine and lied about it.

Oh and remember how Paris bought up all the rabbits at a pet store and set them loose in her backyard? She did it in a misguided attempt to “save” them from potentially becoming reptile food. The rabbits are predictably breeding, and she recently posted a photo of herself on Twitter with a baby rabbit, writing “My Bunnies had Babies! So cute.” That’s just so dumb and irresponsible. She’s letting them run around her backyard and breed and she’s about to have dozens more rabbits in a very short period of time. Incidentally Paris has tweeted absolutely nothing about her court appearance or guilty plea.

I would tell Japan to send her back, but we don’t want her either. Let’s send shots of sake to the officials who denied her. At least now she’ll probably have to come back early and look after her poor animals.

Top and bottom pic below from Paris’ Twitpic account.

Hilton pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors, drug possession and obstructing an officer, as part of a plea deal worked out with prosecutors following her August 27 arrest for cocaine possession on the Las Vegas Strip. As part of the agreement, Hilton will serve a year of probation, pay a USD 2,000 fine, serve 200 hours of community service and must complete a drug abuse program in order to avoid jail time and a felony conviction. I think the key phrase here is “beyond her control”.
what, exactly, was beyond her control? does she not realize that, sans drug conviction, she’d be in Japan promoting her business?
    perhaps not.

Now if only the US could deny all knowledge of her she’d be trapped at Tokyo(?) airport indefinitely – just like Tom Hanks – and we’d be free of her wonk-eye and herp-crotch forever!!

She’s “devastated” by the incident? These celebrities get “devastated” quite easily. I’m sure she’ll be “devastated” when she’s knee deep in bunny poop.

She is SO dumb and irresponsible.

She bought those bunnies in a lame attempt to get some good publicity but now they will breed and poop out of control that she will have to get rid of them.

    No thought to consequences, ever.

I can’t believe i’m going to say it….but…..her court appearance was the best I’ve ever seen her look. Maybe is she dressed like that all the time and stopped being so stupid, we’d be able to stomach her. at least a little bit.

ugh….can’t believe i actually said something nice about her!

@eja102 – Exactly, saying “this is beyond her control” is part of very scary American trend of not taking responsibility for ones actions.

@cedar falls – I busted out laughing at your comment. Yes, let’s leave her in Japan. Too funny.

This isn’t suprising. A lot of countries have laws that prevent entry or kickout foreigners convicted of a crime. Chris Brown couldn’t tour in England because of the Rhianna assault and Russell Brand could be kicked out for the paparazzi “assault”.

she might have been detained because she refused a body search – not necessarily a cavity search though.

also, her entourage probably refused one too, making it look suspicious that one of them could be hiding stuff on them wrapped up so tight even a drug-sniffing dog couldnt smell it.

the last time says some think some of the guards did it just for show. i doubt that. it’s well-known what she was arrested for. how are they going to let her breeze on by then? that would look like they were letting her off easy then.

i think in time they’ll release her from the hotel. i hope she tries to go to singapore next… let’s see what happens to her there.

Wait, when the Hell did she buy those rabbits? I thought it was pretty recently, and as a former (accidental) breeder, that is not a “baby” rabbit. They’re the size of your thumb, have no hair, can’t open their eyes…they’re honestly nothing cute about a baby rabbit. It wouldn’t look like the animal she’s holding for about 2 months.
I’m wondering if she actually is so dumb that she mistook a small rabbit she purchased for a bunny. It wouldn’t surprise me.

So… there she sits in limbo. While it’s certainly true that Paris brought this trouble on herself, how could it not occur to even ONE of her multitude of handlers to… gee, I dunno, make a few calls to INVESTIGATE the matter with Japanese Immigration officials IN ADVANCE of her trip to insure she’d be able to enter the country… regardless of her very recent *GUILTY PLEA* in her cocaine possession case??
Anyone with half a brain would have thought of that prior to leaving the country… especially when planning to travel to Asia!!! They do NOT take drug matters lightly.

What a bunch of numbskulls. She should fire the lot of them. The Hilton’s hot-shot “legal team” should be the first to go.

  46. Shay says:

What I find ironic is the hypocrisy. People outside the US, with any minor drugs charges have issues gaining entry to the US, but every pothead, crackhead from the United States, ranging from Paris to other celebrities with worse addictions, not only leave the US, but are allowed entry to other countries (mainly in Europe though).
It’s about time one country took a stand against the ongoing promotion of Paris Hilton.
