People Magazine has posted the cover of their upcoming issue with the super expensive photos of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s “Fantasy Wedding!” and it’s not the interesting. Ashlee and Pete have their fringed-banged heads together and are smiling like any pose you would see of the two of them on the red carpet. Ashlee wears a simple white veil and pearl drop earrings and Pete has on a tux with a white bow tie and a black rose corsage.
The best part of the photo isn’t newlyweds Ashlee and Pete, but the embarrassed-looking bulldog wearing a flouncy neck piece adorned with black beads. Jessica Simpson and her maybe ex-boyfriend, Tony Romo, are shown in an inset photo dancing at the reception, with Jessica pulling a wide-mouthed face while Tony laughs.
People reports that the reception was “the ultimate rocker event” and included 10,000 “black magic” roses, chandeliers and red and black decorations.
Ashlee wore “an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier gown and a cathedral-length veil” and People notes that the “nondenominational ceremony [was] officiated by her father, Joe Simpson.”
The event was attended by 150 guests, but you get to see it in People for the price of the magazine. It’s doubtful this issue will sell well enough to justify the reported $1 million that the photos were said to have cost. There’s not a lot of interest in these two, but we’re sure to see more of them as Ashlee’s pregnancy starts to show and they sell the inevitable first baby photos for an even steeper price.

that picture of Jessica is slightly disturbing -
Ashlee has to have her wedding cover of People ruined with a huge picture of her sister freak dancing on it. It looks like Tony got coerced/strong-armed into going to the wedding, and once he was there was like “eff it, she’s throwing herself at me so I’ll go with it”.
That dog is hella cute. Everything else is not.

I think it’s a great picture of both of them. They both look truly happy and that’s the point of wedding pictures.

Upstaged by an unimpressed doggie - oh dear!!!
Although not quite as unimpressed as Mimi la Rue at Tori Spelling’s book launch - classic.I know. That cover is just. Unimpressive. It could be any red carpet event or wedding-theme party. There’s no real sense of occassion to it.
I heard Ashlee’s new single today - I actually thought it was allright. A little bit wannabe-Stefani, but not a bad effort.

The was the ultimate douchey tool poser wedding. For people who are do eager to die, Emo sure as hell as some serious staying power.

A lot of the problem with that cover is not the photo, but the way People laid out the cover itself. It’s probably not an amazing photo, but we can’t see enough of it to know for sure. They do look happy, though!

Now, the picture of Titica and Tony is priceless. Nothing says wedding like a shot of drunken guests grooving to the classy tunes of Sir Mixalot. But then again, the girl’s desperate. -
that photo looks like ANY other photo pete and ashley have ever taken. she always has that SAME EXACT turn of the face. ugh. it must be her only good side and she knows it, so she turns her head just slightly like that EVERY TIME.

All the pictures of them remind me of the scene in “Ice Castles” (am I remembering the right movie?) where the mom is insisting that the girl always be in a particular location in the picture, facing a certain way.

It was quite awhile after that I realized that there was actually a bulldog on the cover.

Such a posed practised smile, not saying they are not happily and completely in love, but those smiles, especially Pete is so practised. What happened to capturing the moment, i.e. the spontaneous smile of pure joy rather than the rehearsed ‘must smile like I really mean it for this photo’ one???? This is why most wedding photography is really cheesy and not a memento of the emotions and expressions as they happen.

Shotgun weddings rarely give you the time to get a serious gorgeous thing going on. Also, why does Pete look like the feminine one in the relationship? I realize he’s nearly legless, but I had no idea he was so estrogen enhanced.
