Lindsay Lohan’s friends helped write her “sorry” tweet while she drank Jack & Cokes

A lot of people suspected that Lindsay Lohan’s tweet in which she took responsibility for her failed drug tests (despite denying it hours earlier) was surely written by someone else. It was too well worded and didn’t sound at all like something Lindsay would say. In Lindsay’s world, nothing is ever her fault and if she thinks she can get away with it she’ll claim that someone else did it, not her. US Weekly has the insider story on how that tweet came about, and it involves multiple edits and suggestions from friends as she sat around drinking Jack and Cokes. Alcohol is among the substances that she’s not allowed to use and is randomly tested for, which makes her tweet all the more ironic. Remember that she wrote:

Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.

Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future.

This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.

I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful….Thank you all!!!

It all sounds so mature and unlike her, and it was. Here’s US’ story on how that came about:

Her new management team – Lou Taylor and Larry Rudolph, the same duo who helped Britney Spears clean up – stepped in, telling her to write a statement.

That didn’t mean Lohan had to take admission seriously. As she composed her draft at [LA restaurant] Magnolia, her pal gave suggestions on what words to use. “They kept reading it over; they were clearly architecting it to make it more personal,” says the onlooker. “Her friend would say, ‘No, use “setback,” don’t say “mistake.” They’ll say you make mistakes all the time!” Continued the friend: “It’s better to say you’re responsible. Denying it will just get everyone mad per usual.” Lohan’s response: “She giggled!” says the source, then motioned for her assistant to order another Jack and Coke.

After they sent the final missive to Rudolph for approval, Lohan’s pal rubbed her shoulders supportively. “But Lindsay wasn’t emotional,” says the witness. “She shrugged and said, ‘This is how it is in this industry – you fail, you get up.” The four-time rehab attendee even joked about drinking that night, telling her friends, “What are you gonna do? I’m ill” – making air quotes with her fingers.

Lohan’s not the only one brushing off her addiction. Mom Dina told guests at her September 17 birthday dinner at Matteo’s restaurant in Roslyn Heights, NY, her daughter would get off scot-free. Recounts an insider, “She said, ‘Who cares if it’s true? Our new team is like a machine. They’ll squash this.'”

At least her management told her to write something and didn’t just write it for her, but her friends ended up doing that. What will it take for Lindsay and her mom to get a ticket out of denial town? Lindsay has already been in jail, and she could get at least 30 days with no chance of early release for this latest series of failed tests. She is such an unlikable arrogant person and I hope they put her away for a few months. She’s not going to change even after jail, though, and will get out and continue to blame other people and circumstances for her personal failings. In her mind, she’s still relevant and she can still behave however she wants. We’ll see what kind of consequences she faces at her hearing on Friday.

If I lived in California, I would want my tax dollars to go towards KEEPING THIS LIL BITTY LOCKED UP.

  2. bizzy says:

As she composed her draft at [LA restaurant] Magnolia, her pal gave suggestions on what words to use

color me stunned that lindsay has even one ‘pal’ who can construct a complete sentence. unless, y’know, ‘pal’ is a synonym for ‘paid script-writer’.

  3. Marjalane says:

TMZ seems to indicate that nothing will happen to her. I haz sads.

  4. Hannah says:

Jack and coke? Wouldn’t that mean a third failed drug test? So I can’t believe this story, still think her team wrote that for her

  5. Maria says:

    All together now:

    LOSER!

  6. lilred says:

Go directly to jail! Do not pass Go!

  7. logan says:

SHE HAS NO FRIENDS, only fellow party people.

  8. Eileen says:

Make this trick go away. Please.

  9. bellaluna says:

So, would that be Jack & Coke, or Jack and cocaine? 😛

  10. chasingadalia says:

    @ Hannah:

After the first two, you might as well go for broke, I guess… they might have stopped testing her at that point.

  11. Kitten says:

I can totally see her saying these things. I am 100% sure that she thinks that she’s just a “kid” who likes to “go out and have fun” like every other “kid” her age. News flash, Lindsay: not every 24-year-old woman is partying till 4AM every night, snorting blow and collecting DUIs. Most 24-year-olds have a 40+ hrs/week job and responsibilities and keep their partying to a minimum.

  12. lucy2 says:

I know it will never happen, but I’d love for everyone to just flat out ignore her and her family. I think that would be a far worse punishment for them than jail, rehab, etc.

  13. Innocent says:

Does anyone think that even if she is remanded without bail for 30 days that it will stick?
It is very clear that Lynwood don’t want her for 30 days.
She was there for less than 14 days the last time and they were glad to get rid of her.
She should just be be treated the same as everyone else and get sentenced tomorrow when the violation was clear.
Either way tomorrow’s hearing wont’t go as badly as it would have if Lindsay had to face Judge Revel.

  14. alejandro says:

I don’t believe this. I think Larry Rudolph and the rest of her team took control and wrote 100 percent of it and also instructed her not to tweet anymore after that.
I do however believe the part about White Oprah still being in denial.

  15. Roma says:

Jack and diet coke, obviously. No way this girl is wasting calories on the real thing.

  16. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

She’s going to jail, because if she didn’t, public outrage would be so bad, that come election time people would be voting to outst those in office.

  17. dread pirate cuervo says:

I would have used “relapse” over “mishap”. Mishap is spilling AA coffee on your probation booklet just before you go to get it signed. Relapse is your desire to get high being greater than your desire to stay out of jail.

  18. BethL says:

I can’t believe that Us is so stupid to write this story. Lindsay obviously didn’t write the statement since it was too mature and professional. But to think that her “friends” are articulate enough to write it? Come on.

CA prisons are so overcrowded that people are barely doing a third of their sentences. A non-celebrity would have had served 14 days too. Lindsay didn’t get special treatment. A lot of people are saying that the judge would revoke her probation and send Lindsay to jail until the next hearing. That way she would have to do 30 days. If she’s sentenced on Friday, she would be released in a few hours because of overcrowding. This option seems unlikely based on the judge’s history.

  19. life is full of haters

  20. Johnny'sGirl says:

Wow.. What a winner.. Can we move past the Lindsay B.S. and hurry up and get to HGF? One more day ladies!!!

  21. Sassy says:

No way Lindsay’s friends are any smarter than she is – her shiny new PR team wrote the Twiiter-shit.

I hope crackie mccracken spends at least 30 days in jail but I’m not holding my breath.

And can’t wait for White Oprah’s next interview where she once again tells the world how unfair life is to her “child.”

Why can’t these assholes GO AWAY?

  22. K says:

PAL = Paid Agent of Locution/Language/Literacy

  23. MarenGermany says:

Remember when @Innocent was always on Lindsays side, being constantly ripped apart by everyone here?
Well, Innocent´s tune has changed a lot of lately.
Congrats Linds, for even pissing away your obviously most restistant fan of all-time.

  24. Mandy says:

I think I’ll go as Lindsay Lohan for Halloween. I’ll just wear something tacky and walk around all night with a Jack & Coke in one hand and my Blackberry in the other, with handcuffs hanging from my wrist and a little white powder under my nose. Am I missing anything?

  25. Poopie says:

@Mandy – don’t forget your leggins and aviator sunglasses

  26. Lem says:

that is the biggest tampon I have ever seen!

  27. Ruby Red Lips says:

She’ll be sentenced to 30 days but due to overcrowding will be instantly released and will go back and drink & drug again (along with mummy dearest)

Lindsay is right about 1 thing tho, she can keep playing this game w/o serious legal consequence… tho I think the real consequence may be one of her life prematurely ending or prematurely ending someone else’s life

There are no words strong enough to describe Dina…

  28. Ruby Red Lips says:

Mandy – you’ll also need a sign around your neck that says ‘I’m a celebrity, I can say f*ck u to judges, lie, behave like a sociopath and party all the time…what excatly ru going to do about it???!!!’

  29. Ruby Red Lips says:

Sorry, me again – must go and get a life in a mo…but first,

I bet the white package is stuffed full of cocaine, sounds like something she the entitled brat would do in front of the media and in broad day light – she def is that cocky!

  30. cantbelievethis says:

I hope the judge throws her butt in jail for the FULL 30 days. She has already had too many chances and is a danger to herself and babies crossing the street.

  31. original kate says:

and by “friends” i’m assuming they mean agent, publicist or some other literate person.

  32. Jeri says:

Maybe when all the credit cards are cancelled, when they have nothing left and absolutely no-one will speak to them and no-one will write about any of them.

Maybe then it will seem a little real.

  33. Katija says:

    @ Kitten

    I totally agree. She’s delusional.

  34. Madisyn says:

When Blohan, this self entitled brat gets sentenced, please, please, pan to a double screen of Blohan and White Oprah. I want to see that smirk smacked right off their faces!

  35. sara says:

I think I remember reading that she told the kidnapped captives on her wild ride that “I’m a f—ing celebrity; they can’t touch me.” Says it all.

  36. GT says:

Guess what people, she is an addict! You can call her a brat, spoiled, etc.. but no matter if you have money or you don’t, once you are an addict you have no control over yourself. You should maybe try feeling sorry for her and hope that she gets the help she needs instead of slamming her. Most addicts don’t believe they have a problem and if they do they think they can fix it themselves. She is no different than any other addict other than she is famous. I hope she comes through this better than before as she is so talented and gorgeous and it would be a shame to waste it all.

  37. d says:

I can see Lohan and her friends getting a real kick out of making stuff up and sending it to the tabloids — just to get a laugh to see how it’s reported in the tabs and blogs and to poke fun at how people comment on it all. Even if Rudolph’s team shut her down, they’d still have fun “leaking” these stories and laughing at all the “haters,” because you know they feel they’re superior and better than anyone else because they’re in Hollywood, and they’re in the papers and they’re famous. That’s how they think. I also believe Rudolph wrote her tweet, told her to shut it down, but this little story is Lohan and her friends’ way of still being in control, doing what THEY want, staying in the spotlight, getting attention, and so on. That’s how they roll, that’s been her pattern, that’s her attitude, that’s how they behave, and that’s how it’ll continue for years to come because Lohan still has no real incentive to change and grow up. She still doesn’t think she needs to change, she still thinks she’s a victim, she still thinks there’s nothing wrong with her or her life, and she still thinks she’s got IT, so why should she change? It’ll be when NO ONE pays attention to her, when the money runs out, the sycophants disappear, and she no longer gets a free pass from her family, “friends”, and industry. But as long as the paps follow her, as long as that doofus Mike from TMZ keeps saying she can make a comeback and get an Oscar, and as long as she gets attention for what she does, all these stories will keep repeating themselves. IMO.

  38. skeptical says:

@ sara I remember that too.
And awwww GT is such a devoted lindsay fan… or is stan the better word? I’m always behind on the terms.
I still don’t care what lindsay does.. so long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else.
And I can’t look away.. got a very uncomfortable feeling she is gonna hurt someone else.
Also wondering why they specified what lindsay was drinking. Just calling it alcohol wasn’t enough? Had to be jack and coke?

  39. Lita says:

@Mandy: don’t for get the “fuck you” on your fingernail! Judges might be present, you never know!

  40. Lita says:

@GT I’m guessing you’ve never been an addict. Or for that matter affected deeply by one (no, Lindsay doesn’t count for you).

With (absolutely no) respect, your modes are all off. Also please delineate said lindsay “talent” credentials. After hearing of how talented our Lindsay is I wasted – what – 90 min watching ‘Mean Girls.’ I’ll never get that time back.

    **90 minutes**

    **never back**

Do you understand how many other things I could have done in 90 minutes?? I could have waxed my legs, played wii, or even damnit done some housework. 90 minutes, you hear me???!!!!?
