Lindsay Lohan plans to voluntarily check herself into rehab again: yeah, right

I don’t even have words for my disappointment regarding Lindsay Lohan’s crack validation that she really can get away with it, always, every goddamn time. Late Friday/early Saturday, Lindsay was released from Lynwood after spending 15 hours languishing without bail. Shawn Chapman Holley’s appeal worked, though, and Blohan is back on the streets, probably clipping babies as we speak. But there’s a “source” in the Lohan camp who wants us to know that Lindsay really does know she has a problem. According to the this source, who ran to People Magazine, Lindsay is considering voluntarily checking herself into rehab yet again in the coming days. I think this will be, like… the sixth time? Fifth or sixth.

Although she relapsed just weeks after checking out of UCLA inpatient rehab on Aug. 24, Lindsay Lohan is serious about her recovery, a source close to the actress says.

“She will step up her treatment and do more than what she was previously ordered to do,” says the source, adding that Lohan, 24, plans to voluntarily check herself back into rehab in the coming days.

The actress was released from a Lynwood, Calif., jail late Friday night after winning an appeal to be granted bail following a failed drug test.

For now, Lohan has been ordered to wear a SCRAM alcohol-monitoring bracelet and must avoid places “where alcohol is the chief item of sale.”

She faces a probation violation hearing on Oct. 22, where she could potentially face more jail time for the positive drug test in her ongoing DUI case.

Do you believe it? I don’t. Probably because I believe that Lindsay was drinking Jack & cokes when she tweeted her mea culpa crack confession. Probably because all Lindsay ever learns from her f-cked up shenanigans is that she can always get away with it. Probably because Lindsay’s real problem is that she’s an entitled a–hole, not that she’s an addict. Probably because X17 reports that Dina – Mother Crackhead herself – brought liquor over to Lindsay’s place on Thursday night, the night before her hearing, so that they could have one last mother-daughter bender before Lindsay got away with it again.

Speaking of Lindsay’s long history of abuse and Dina’s long history of enabling Lindsay’s crack drama, X17 also published some photos of Lindsay playing with a heroin needle. The photos seem to be from 2007 (you can tell by the normal size of Lindsay’s lips), and in between posing for photos with the needle, she’s making out with Paris Hilton. Which is more dangerous? Eh. News of the World has the story and the photos here.

Like Shelley and others in a previous thread, I agree that the problem is not necessarily with her drinking and drug use itself. The problem is that, unlike her, there are people who work very hard to live clean, upstanding, productive lives. And lots of those people are in the cars around her or walking on the sidewalk when she is driving drunk and high.

If she wants to choose death for herself, I don’t care. But she does not have the right to choose death for random, innocent people. If she knows she’s going to drug it up, she should find someone BEFORE she’s wasted to stay with her and drive her home – even if she has to pay that person. Or better yet, drink and snort coke at home, for God’s sake! Just thinking about this p!$$es me off to no end. Only A$$#oles drive under the influence.

  2. Red Riding Hood says:

Why am I not surprised by the heroin story. There have been rumours about lilo and Paris and hard drugs b4

what is even more scary is dina taking alcohol to lilo’s to party the night b4 her hearing – god those ny peops who awarded dina mother of the year must be so happy with their judgement

lilo is just playing the game, she really doesn’t care less about giving up drugs or drink

  3. malachais says:

I agree, I really don’t think she is an addict. Its part of her game with the press. She knows, if she keeps getting into trouble and making a spectacle out of it, Lindsey will remain relevant.

Its like everyone is just waiting for her OD already, which is pretty f*cked up. How will people react? “Told you so”

  4. Katalina76 says:

@malachais: You really don’t think she’s an addict?? Despite all the evidence to the contrary? To each their own, I guess.

The one thing I don’t get is how not one of the tabloids has ran a cover with Dina and how she’s a horrible, awful enabling human being and mother. Somebody needs to put her face right out there, front and center. Yes, Lindsay is an adult and her problems are her own. But that doesn’t mean that White Crackhead Oprah shouldn’t be taken to task. She deserves it. She’s still raising 2 younger children to be her new piggy banks, and that should scare the crap out of everyone.

  5. lucy2 says:

Look at the difference between the skin on Dina’s face vs. her neck. EW.

I don’t think she’s a hardcore, unconscious in an alley addict, but she’s proven she can’t go more than a few weeks without using something.

  6. original kate says:

the very definition of an addict is when drinking/drug use interferes with your life. bingo.

  7. Bullett says:

it’s like Judy Garland…. minus the talent. A sign of the times and our culture— form devoid of substance, the shell of a story minus the ingredients that would/could make the story genuinely heartbreaking. Why is this so very pedestrian druggie/alcoholic in print day after day?

  8. She is an addict, all of you stating why have nailed it. Yes, it is like Judy Garland, and many more since. Everyone is talking about her lips, the rest of her face looks puffed, and the sun glasses have been covering her cheeks. She is too young to be doing things to her face to try and recapture her youth. I hope she does go back into rehab. Relapse is part of the process to becoming clean for good.

  9. Stephanie says:

    You stay classy, Lindsay.

  10. hairball says:

Most of these pathetic celebrity offspring who are getting record deals and have their own stylist at age 9 and have no expectations put on them for personal responsibilty and educating oneself will be here in 10 – 12 years.

I could care less about Lyndsay Lohan. I don’t want to hear another word about her. Her family should care about her, but not me.

  11. BethL says:

What is an addict? When I think of addicts I think of people who can’t go without. Lindsay goes weeks without drugs. If she was addicted wouldn’t she have more positive tests and happened earlier? She’s probably just addicted to adderall. I think she dabbles with harder drugs and alcohol, stuff she would do if it was around or if she didn’t have meds.

  12. beebee says:

You should post the new pics of her shooting up and skin popping OH! and straddling Paris Hilton.

  13. What is ADDICTION?
“When an individual persists in use of alcohol or other drugs despite problems related to use of the substance, substance dependence may be diagnosed.”

So in other words; when you continue to use, although it is having a negative affect on your life.

  14. flourpot says:

They always check themselves into rehab if there’s a chance of jail. It’s like saying Look at me! I’m doing something to help myself! When it’s really doing something to help themselves get out of paying the actual price for the crimes they’ve committed. Sad … it often works for them. As for those pictures of her and Paris and a needle – ew. That is all.

  15. YT says:

It’s a PR move and means nothing. Her management team pushed for this over Dina’s screams of her “darlin’ child is fine”. She’ll be out in time to shoot her movie, and the producers had best have a team of keepers at the ready.

  16. Marjalane says:

    @hairball

It’s funny you mention children getting stylists and record deals at 9years old because when I saw Will and Jada’s daughter getting those, I thought, What kind of hideous parent would shove their child into an adult world that they know is unbelievably cruel? yeah success is awesome, but does a 9 year old understand the fall? Doubt it.

Through this whole obnoxious Lindsey mess, the one person who needs to be frog marched into a courtroom and then sent away for psychiatric evaluation is crazy Dina Lohan! And yet she just stands around with her freckled paw out, grabbing cash from the media. Sick.

  17. Anon says:

I’m glad more people are finally saying it. It’s not her drug use that is a problem (well it’s a problem for innocent people on the roads). SHE is the problem.

Rehabs aren’t treating her actual issue…her personality disorder.

There is no cure for megalomania, except for a complete media blackout of Lindsay.

That is the only thing that would cure her. Every blog, every media outlet must put out an announcement that no longer will lindsay be covered by the press. No photos of her will be purchased. No interviews granted. Clothing line dropped from stores and dropped by her agents, no book deals no recording contracts.

When her image becomes worthless, she will change and she will change fast.

People would be amazed at how quick.

The media, needs to make sure that any known association with Lindsay is business/career suicide.

It’s ironically her only cure. The media who built her, must cure her with a blackout.

  18. Lenore says:

I think of addiction not so much as continued use, but inability to stop, owing to actual chemical and/or psychological dependence, even if – and this is crucial – even if you really want to stop.

Lindsay may well be addicted but that is not currently her problem. Her problem is that she refuses to acknowledge her dependency or regard it as a problem. All appearances suggest that as far as she’s concerned, she’s partying and having a damn good time, and the SCRAM bracelets and court appearances are minor inconveniences inflicted on her by haterz who are jus’ jealous of her awesomeness.

Lindsay probably is an addict but that’s not the problem. Her sense of entitlement is the problem. The hangers-on and enablers are the problem.

Maybe one day they’ll isolate her for long enough that she goes into withdrawal from her attention-seeking, her friends, her mother and the drugs, in that order, and when she finally sobers up and experiences the downside of her behaviour, then she’ll be able to deal with the addiction itself.

  19. albeli says:

All for the benefit of the judge and public at large.

  20. cookie says:

I have to agree with Bullet, why is this useless person and her equally useless family in the press day after day? How much money is she costing the US tax payer with her ongoing court shenanigans? I don’t get the fascination with her, she hasn’t made a movie in years, her “career” is well over and she is fast becoming a burden to society. Who is paying for her rehab? There are people out there who genuinely need the help that have to wait months to get it, people who are desperately trying to get their life in order. Her attitude makes me sick.

  21. logan says:

    Yawn. Boycott

  22. Snarf says:

Is “voluntarily” another way of saying “at her legal team’s insistance”?

  23. Kloops says:

I totally agree. She may be an addict, and definition seems to indicate she is, but her primary issue is her raging personality disorder and that is never going to change. I wish they’d lock her up for a year and force all of us to detox from her. I need LiLo rehab.

  24. Hautie says:

If she had any honest intentions of going to rehab, she would have simple checked herself in and be done with it.

Not giving PR announcements to People.

I also tend to wonder about her being a legit addict. I am wondering if she spent a little time learning how to be a responsible adult would she fare better.

Does Betty Ford offer that? How to be a adult classes?

I agree that she lacks a good basic set of life rules to live by and has suffer greatly from it.

But every time I see that piece of sh*t father of her’s talking about her problems with anyone who will pay him… I give her credit for at least cutting off all contact with him.

Why can she not make better decisions about other toxic people in her life?

  25. Just a Poster says:

Is “voluntarily” another way of saying “at her legal team’s insistance”?

    Snarf I believe so.

  26. cprincess says:

Look-rehabs in of themselves do not work-all they can do is seperate an addict long enough from drugs and alcohol to where they can hear a solution to enable them stay clean….
Her behavior is typical of an addict-relapse, drama, lying, enabling friends and family, manipulative and now she has said she will voluntarily enter rehab -for what?I dont hear her admit shes an addict and I dont hear her say shes powerless over drugs and alcohol….
I dont believe she has reached her bottom with drugs,I think shes someone who really would have benefited from being locked up for 30 days although generally I dont believe that locking an addict up is the answer-our jails are full of addicts there ONLY because their disease and susequent actions took them there- but once again these fancy lawyers can get her off(something the average person does not have) and in the long run it is not helping her at all…
When you have experienced the agony of drug addiction, how a person loses the power of choice over whether or not you take a drug and when you start you cannot stop it truly is a miracle when you get clean but the start of it is the greatest surrender you will ever make-just being able to give it up and admit powerlessness…
I say all this from the perspective of being sober over 12 years….

  27. CB Rawks says:

Are the morons that released her from that other rehab five minutes ago because she’s “not an addict” going to have to answer any charges, or lose their damn jobs?! No one should ever use their clinic again, that’s for sure.

  28. skeptical says:

Lindsay is a megalomaniac. That is her problem. This “rehab” is just PR.
Please see the lyrics to lindsay’s song Bossy to see a pretty clear example of narcissism. It could be the narcissist’s theme song.

  29. cantbelievethis says:

@CB Rawks I’m wondering the same thing!

  30. Chris says:

She’s probably just doing so it looks better in court,it’s a fairly standard move by people who think rehab is the easier softer option to jail. People who’re in rehab for the wrong reasons usually disrupt the rest of the group with their cynicism and childish attempts to get away with breaking the rules.

  31. anon says:

wow re Bossy lyrics – so true! i looked them up:

I like it how I like it when I like it
    And that’s how it is
    I’m just a little bossy
You got a problem with it
If I want it then I get it now
    I get it now

  32. Shelley says:

I agree we should all stop writing and reading about her, and commenting on her. So my last post on her is this – let’s assume her Dad is as overall worthless as her Mom. But at least now and then, for whatever reason$, he does point out that she uses drugs/alcohol to the level at which she is a danger to herself and (far more importantly) others. Her Mom never has and apparently never will acknowledge that, and was reported as taking alcohol to LL’s house Thursday night. And this is why Lindsay is furious with her Dad and speaks so adoringly of her Mom. Drew Barrymore became at least semi-sober, part of which was coming to terms with the toxicity of her Mom, and is at least semi-estranged from her. When your own Mom encourages you to continue down a road leading into utter darkness, then how hard is it to see what her intentions are?

  33. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

Are they serving up crack at this rehab? That’s the only way she will be checking herself in.. FREE CRACK!!

  34. dread pirate cuervo says:

Going back to rehab will be great for her, IF she actually tries to work on herself. There’s a saying in AA, “meeting makers make it.” There’s also another saying, “meeting makers make meetings.” She can go through the motions, but unless she does the work to correct her character defects, her physical addiction cannot be controlled. When I drank/used, the amount I drank/used was a problem, no doubt. But the #1 problem was that I was an asshole. I was completely & utterly unable to deal with life on life’s terms. I believe this is Lindsay’s problem. A little humility will go along way towards getting & keeping her sober.

  35. Cam says:

This is the LAST comment I write on any post that has to do with her, I swear. I just wanted to say that @Anon is right, so… let’s try, it doesnt matter if it’s almost impossible, I’m totally IN.

    MEDIA BLACKOUT!

  36. Crash2GO2 says:

    @Lenore: Ditto your post.

  37. Shelley says:

@DreadPirateCuervo – your post says it all. I think you should open a rehab! Thank you and stay strong. Best wishes.

  38. She really does deserve our compassion. She was not allowed to have a childhood. No wonder she is an addict! I hope she pulls through.

  39. DiMi says:

I blame UCLA. Why did the let her out? It’s still pissing me off.

  40. say says:

I love the journalism relevancy of your website and it will a attractive decent job of presenting the info.

Hey, maybe this is a bit offf topic but in any case, I have been surfing about your blog and it looks really neat. impassioned about your writing. I am creating a new blog and hard-pressed to make it appear great, and supply excellent articles. I have discovered a lot on your site and I look forward to additional updates and will be back.
