Lindsay Lohan visits a homeless shelter, and not to score drugs

These are new photos of Lindsay Lohan entering The Dream Center, a mission and outreach center for the homeless. She visited the place last night, and it was her first public outing since getting out of jail two nights beforehand. According to E! News’ sources, Lindsay went to visit the homeless at the encouragement of her management. And of course, she invited along the paparazzi. As CB pointed out, this is the first charity work Lindsay has done since she “saved” all of those kids in India.

Two days after getting out of jail, Lindsay Lohan has emerged from hiding. Accompanied by two friends, sister Ali and mother Dina, the troubled starlet, who will be heading back to rehab possibly as soon as Monday, spent part of Sunday evening visiting the Dream Center, a mission and outreach center connected to the Angelus Temple in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood.

What brought her there?

According to a source, LiLo’s business manager Lou Taylor, who also was part of her group, is a supporter of the facility and encouraged her to visit.

While there, Lindsay met with children and families, signing autographs and handing out purses to some of the teen girls.

“What a great place The Dream Center is here in LA… had a nice time there today, it’s so important to give back. I feel blessed,” Lohan later tweeted.

The source said Lohan wanted to make a return visit to see some of the young women housed there, but one thing was clear: She would not be checking in there herself.
Lohan plans to check into rehab, but that it would not be at the Dream Center facility, said the source.

I mean… yes, it was nice of Lindsay to visit the kids and give away gifts. But it’s too little, too late to try to rehab her image. When you visit a homeless shelter as your first public outing since getting out of jail for the fourth time, you have bigger issues than public relations. Also, Lindsay is still playing her cracked out PR games. Try this, via her Twitter:

Oh, she made a Terminator joke, isn’t that… cute? Ugh. Also – did she visit the shelter in the middle of the night? Shouldn’t these poor people be getting some rest? Not everyone keeps crackhead hours.

How is someone like Lindsay encouraging? What is wrong with this Homeless Shelter? Will this get more celebrities to donate time and money? I don’t think so. This just makes no sense whatsoever.
I dont think this was her attorney or her management’s idea. I think her management is the code word for Dina. Her attorney and managment probably wanted her to go to rehab so they can start making money again instead of just spending it.
Can you imagine how much her attorney’s fees are right now? Her managers are probably wishing for the days when she was making movies with that Saturday Night Live chick and Jane Fonda. Trust me, the homeless shelter is not where they want Lindsay to be. It is just entirely too close to where she is probably going to end up once TMZ and Radar get tired of her and move on to another starlet in decline.

  2. Lady Jane says:

Can she go anywhere without hot pants? “It is so important to give back…” How much does she love herself – really?

  3. logan says:

I’m sure all the men at the homeless shelter enjoyed her outfit. PR trip.
Next will be a class at a morgue. All PR Nobody will ever buy her I care crap.

  4. dorothy says:

What an idiot. Why in the world would she think she would be an inspiration to these people? She STILL just doesn’t get get it. She is not the star she was years ago. Her expiration date is nearing.

  5. anoneemouse says:

Maybe she’s scouting out new locations to live.

  6. Lita says:

“It’s so important to give back..”

What, so she’s heard from other people of this concept??

Also in the last pic, Dina and the also-ran. I want to hear their conversation because I sort of wonder if they keep up their media pretense to one another or if it’s no-holes barred in private time? If I had to guess, I’d say they live by the delusion full time.

  7. bizzy says:

yeah, not sure what message of inspiration a homeless teenage girl is expected to extract from this. if you work hard and have a dream, you too can spend your twenties in a breathless whirl of drugs, skeeze, petty theft, court appearances and short prison stays? or is she just meant as a terrible warning?

  8. Ruby Red Lips says:

Lindsay: “I’ll make a visit to a homeless shelter, get the paps to photograph me, head to rehab for a month, then come out and party like crazy whilst all those thick stupid fans of mine think I’ve really changed’

Dina: “Well done Lindsay, now c’mon lets go snort some white stuff together”

  9. Kaiser says:

Bizzy – Not “petty theft” – GRAND LARCENY. She’s stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and clothes.

  10. bizzy says:

@kaiser: i guess i consider everything linds does to be petty. 😛

  11. Nicky says:

Urgh, this entire family makes me sick! If her manager hadn’t suggested it, Lindsay and her useless mother, sister and friends wouldn’t have even bothered making the trip and why are her friends tagging along? What does this have to do with them?
It’s the disingenuousness of the Lohan’s that piss me off so much – it’s all done for show. And yes, I suppose it’s better than her going out and getting wasted but that’s not really the point – this was a badly staged PR move and no one at that shelter will gain anything from her visit. She probably only stayed long enough to have her photo taken anyway.

  12. Kaboom says:

She’s looking for cheaper living arrangements, then?

  13. liz says:

Give back? How in the hell is she giving back? This girl has a personality disorder in the most hardcorest of ways.

  14. AJ says:

Desperate PR exercise at the expense of the unfortunate.

  15. soxfan says:

I realize spelling/grammar are the least of her worries, but c’mon, Lindsay, using “accept” for “except”??? That Dina Lohan homeschooling program is still seeking it’s accreditation I see.

  16. logan says:

Those poor, poor people. Probably couldn’t get a meal until this twittard strolled through with her family circus. As if life isn’t hard enough for them.

  17. Ursaline says:

Brown boots of insanity!!!!! And would it kill her orange mom not to wear high heels and skinny jeans to a homeless shelter? What a stupid bunch.

  18. OXA says:

I find her PR stunt sickening and self-serving. It is insulting to the people dependent on The Dream Center for food and shelter that she would use their misfortune to pimp herself.

  19. JM says:

    @ Oxa: My sentiments exactly!

  20. eja102 says:

    this is just pathetic.

  21. Raccoon Princess says:

Since when is visiting a place actual volunteer work? This weekend, my daughters–who are younger than she–will be rebuilding a hurricane-damaged home for an elderly resident. No paparazzi.

  22. Suzy says:

If she really cared she wouldn’t have made sure the Paps were there to film her “giving back”. This family makes me sick. I cannot believe Dina got a Mother of the Year Award?! The people who gave it to her must be on drugs!

As for Lindsay and the jail being so overcrowded that she gets out early no matter the sentence she’s given (yeah, that teaches a good lesson)…well, with all the unemployment and stuff, maybe the government (instead of bailing out banks) should donate money to build more jails, which can hire people to work and then idiots like Lindsay can actually serve the sentences they are being sentenced to. The way things are now is just a joke and a waste of money and time. How can you have any respect for the court and judge when what s/he says in terms of sentencing is so meaningless? I mean, why not do coke and drink, etc. when she’s out of jail in a day? Totally worth it in her mind, not to mention another Paparazzi opportunity to keep her name in the news. It’s all so ridiculous!
Why do people keep hiring these idiots for anything? (Lindsay, Dina, Ali, etc.)

  23. Shy says:

Gosh those people are stupid. Does they think she will not get sentence if she will “play” rehab and charity card? They think they will come to judge and say: “Hey mister Judge. I came here but I have to return to rehab soon. You see you can’t put me in jail because i’m in rehab”.

New judge will probably do the same as old one. He will put her in jail for couple of days and then will sent her to 3 month rehab.

The most funny thing that she is finished but still thinks that she is some RDJ or Charlie Sheen, or Britney and she will get forgiveness just by admiring that she has problems. She thinks that she will go to rehab, give an heartfelt sad interview and everyone will forgive her and she will get movie roles.

Those idiots (Dina and Lohan) can’t understand that no one wants and no one waits for her to be ok. Everybody gave up on her. Long time ago. Those people at Inferno movie should oficially drop her. So that she would understand finally that she is finished and will not get a job again. Because she still holds on to that “straight to TV” role and thinks that she has a job and a minor slip.

  24. Paul E. Stanley says:

Are there still people that believe anything she does or says? She has proven time and time again that she is incapable of being truthful with anything. Trips to rehab, AA Meetings and homeless shelters. These are nothing but stunts to do control damage. If people where to start ignoring her, maybe she would really go away and get the help she needs.

  25. Paul E. Stanley says:

    @Shy
The Inferno producer can’t drop her because she is all they have. They still don’t have the full finances for production. I believe they think if they keep her name out there, they may get the money needed. of roll this will be Stupid move. Lindsey is not bankable anymore and I don’t recall the internet blazing with requests to see a movie about a druggie pornstar from the 70’s.

If the movie ever does get produced it will bomb big time, because you know people will be expecting Lindsey to be nude and we all know she won’t go nude. She wouldn’t even do the topless scene in Machete. News will get out and nobody will watch it.

I just want her to go away.

  26. Persistent Cat says:

So she visits a homeless shelter late at night with an entourage???? It would have seemed slightly more sincere had she shown up alone. I doubt she’s capable of doing anything sincerely.

And what exactly did she do? People that actually like her aren’t going to start giving money to shelters.

That girl has absolutely no redeeming qualities.

  27. original kate says:

christ almighty, don’t those people in the shelter have enough problems? they don’t need a visit from some cracked out, ducklipped, orange skinned megalomaniac. and is that her charity PR outfit – her ass hanging out of a pair of daisy dukes, and a nasty, semen stained flannel shirt? ugh. i have no doubt the people in the shelter are cleaner than lindsay.

  28. lucy2 says:

    I agree too, OXA.

I hate to break it to her “management” but the rest of us are not as stupid as she and her family, and see right through this latest nonsense. The best thing they could do for her image is keep her home, try to keep her sober, and have her actually take responsibility and do what she’s required to do.

Paul, I agree – without people wanting to see the Lohan train wreck, that Inferno movie is DOA.

  29. dingle says:

UGH so predictable. She is saving the world in her own delusional mind.

  30. jen says:

The scary thing to ME is that there are plenty of people who WILL swallow this crap. They really will. And that’s more infuriating than this PR stunt, because really, nothing this douche bag does surprises me.

  31. TQB says:

That’s what I would want if I were homeless and struggling: a new purse. PURSES?? How about FOOD. How about CASH MONEY. Unless the purses contained vials of coke that “someone else” left in there. Then, sure, good.

Check out the side boob sag on Dina in that last pic. Honey, please: now is the time for SLEEVES.

  32. Erin says:

She also used the word “accept” instead of “except.” Could her PR person help her with proper grammar, too?

  33. TQB says:

@Paul, I agree – the only person more transparent then the Lohan clan is the Inferno director – constantly starting little rumors that they are dropping her so he can run to the press and release another statement about how committed they are to her. As if there is any chance of that movie being made without her name attached. Right. No one else with a name in Hollywood is dumb enough or desperate enough to get involved with that project.

  34. Confuzzle says:

    😆 she’s so benevolent

  35. la chica says:

bad PR plan. what she needs to do is DISAPPEAR for a year. just lay low and do nothing to call attention to herself. but of course this is Lilo we’re talking about. she seems surrounded by stupid (other than the lawyer).

  36. jemshoes says:

A big fat FAIL on so many levels and in so many ways.

  37. Jazz says:

Why don’t they try getting her clean instead of putting all that work into getting good publicity, when she’s only going to screw it up again anyway.

  38. What¡¦s Happening i am new to this, I stumbled upon this I have found It positively helpful and it has aided me out loads. I hope to give a contribution & help different customers like its helped me. Good job.
