The stars of WE reality series Raising Sextuplets, Brian and Jennifer Masche, would occasionally compare themselves to Jon and Kate Gosselin on their show. They’re now much more like Jon and Kate, because they’re breaking up too. Dad Bryan can be verbally abusive to his wife and was often shown chewing her out on their show. Masche made headlines earlier this month when he was arrested for threatening his father in law while visiting family in Arizona. Masche was described in the police report as belligerent and to have resisted arrest. Now Jennifer has had enough of his cruel treatment and has filed for a legal separation.
Jennifer filed a petition for separation from her husband at Yavapi County Superior Court on September 17, 2010. The breakdown of their marriage comes after he was arrested in Arizona on September 1 following a family bust-up during which he allegedly shouted profanities at his wife and threatened to “flatten” his father-in-law.
Masche exclusively told RadarOnline.com that he was “not a criminal” but his wife has decided to call it quits on their relationship. He had been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for domestic violence, one count resisting arrest and one count threatening domestic violence.
The couple were being touted as more positive reality role models than Jon and Kate Gosselin prior to his run-in with the law. Before his arrest, We TV admitted that the couple was seeing a relationship counselor. Masche allegedly refused to comply with deputies’ commands and that’s when he was arrested. Their children were not in the house at the time.
He was taken to the Yavapai County Detention Center where he was booked and released on a $3,500 bond.
Jennifer is a physician’s assistant at a hospital in their new hometown of Destin, Florida. Their sextuplets, three girls and three boys, were born in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 11, 2007. The couple got married in January 2, 2004, after Bryan asked Jennifer to marry him on National television at an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game in 2003.
Now it looks like just like she will have to follow in Kate Gosselin’s footsteps by raising her children by herself.

Good for Jennifer. She’s probably better off raising those kids alone than with a guy who treats her like that. I wonder if we’re looking at another movie-star-in-training type like “Kate” though. Given the size of her inflated lips, the answer might be “yes.”
Radar has more on the separation filing, and Jennifer is asking for child support and sole physical and legal custody of their six children, with visitation for Bryan. She doesn’t want spousal support, nor does she want to have to pay spousal support to her estranged husband. It’s clear that Jennifer, a physician’s assistant, is the one who brings in more money. Brian was training for some kind of new career and clearly didn’t have the ability to earn a living yet. They really do seem like Jon and Kate.

My heart breaks for this family. They should have never moved from Arizona (they have guns and football), but at the same time, the economy stinks in Arizona, so they had to move. This guy is abusive and aggressive, and the mother has now lost her support system to help her through all of this.

if i were queen of the world (or the aide-de-camp to future empress zahara jolie-pitt), i would abolish all reality shows, beginning with the shows that feature children. they never end well. there’s something toxic about the reality format that’s just soul-searing to those who participate.

Anyway, I hope they divorce quickly & quietly. This Brian Masche is a total loooooser. His “new career” is in financial planning/banking. (He chose this career AFTER the big crash of 2008) He made Jen uproot their family from Arizona because he had some opportunity in Florida that never panned out. Loser, loser, loser.

I think you’re right, Guesty. The guy really has nowhere else to go and child support and childcare for 6 kids is going to kill them both financially. He doesn’t have a job and from what I understand, he’s the primary caregiver for the kids. She may get sole physical custody b/c he’s been violent to others, but she doesn’t have a prayer of getting sole legal custody–he’s done nothing to deserve that(you can be a crap parent and not lose that).
The problem for her is that if she works odd hours and he has mainly stayed home and cared for them, a judge may decide that that’s the way it should stay. She’ll take him back because she won’t like the way things pan out legally. He’ll go back because he doesn’t have anything else to do.

as almost neighbors of mine, i can glady say i’ve never seen them in public, around the stores, the movies, the malls, etc. they would be hard to miss. i would love to see the hubs out and about tho, and remind him of what dick (repressed homosexual) he is.

This is sad because of their kids. No parent is perfect but you should never knowingly put them in a situation where they have to watch you be arrested for anything especially domestic violence.

what a couple of idiots. obviously their relationship has been bad for awhile, so why did they knowingly have sextuplets? they probably thought kids would save the marriage. whatever. anyway, a few thoughts:
1) i agree with whoever said this guy sets off their gaydar – mine is going apeshit.
2) if mr. original kate ever told me to “stop whining and put on my big girl panties” in front of anyone i would smack him. hard.
3) although i don’t get why they’re moving either, their parents need to stay out of it instead of berating them. way to show support, dumbasses.
4) i think teenagers should be forced to watch this show as part of sex ed.
