God knows we give Tom Cruise enough grief about wearing high heels/lifts. In our defense, HE KEEPS WEARING THEM. This man is terrified that people will think of him as an unhinged, lift-wearing midget (credit: Agent Bedhead). In truth, he’s not a midget. He’s like… five-feet-six maybe? Nothing terrible, he’s just petite for a man. But his size limitations are made worse by the fact that Tom loves tall(er) women, both in marriage and as costars.
So Tom went to Japan today to promote Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz. Camy is wearing heels, as you can see. And Tom is wearing… his famous lifts. I told this girl to avoid pairing his heels with skinny jeans, but does he listen? NO. Anyway, the Legend of the Lift has grown so strong that even HuffPo is calling Tom out on it, questioning how tall Tom looks standing next to Camy. Poor Tom!

You can barely notice them and women wear high heels, whats the big deal if he wants to wear a shoe with a heel on it? I think he looks pretty good for his age, although really shiny in these pics. LOL who put all that oil on his face? I don’t like that shirt thing he is doing. He needs to wear just one shirt at a time. Otherwise Tom is still a good looking man.

I don’t think it’s a big deal, it’s not like the heels are ridiculous or anything like that, they’re hardly noticeable, i mean… they’re not the first thing you look at when u see a photo of him.
And I think Cam looks perfect for her age, she’s getting older for God’s sake!

I just said to my husband, who was reading over my shoulder, ‘Wow, Cameron Diaz really isn’t aging well. She looks 50!” and he said, “At least she isn’t full of fillers and plastic surgery.”

The only bad things I’ll say about Cameron Diaz are that all too often she looks like she needs a good bath, and that she should take better care of her skin.
BUT – I do appreciate the fact that she’s not jacked ten different ways. I like her more for looking her age.

It’s funny to call him out on this. Many actors wear lifts. I photographed one who is very popular right now in the comic to film genre and I shot his lifts in his shoes. No one even thinks to call out other actors, just pick on Tom. By the way, when I photographed Tom he wasn’t much taller than I am and I am 5’2″. I can understand why he would wear lifts but it doesn’t really have much to do with his acting abilities, does it? = )

I like Tom Cruise. He know’s it would be hard to photograph them two together if she was 6 or 7 inches taller than him. He is a professional and know’s how to do promo’s properly. No shame in that.
Better than rediculous hair-plugs or bulking up undershirts….women wear high heels and make-up and dye their hair, so why can’t a short man wear something to stand beside a tall woman without looking out of place???

The problem I have with Tommy’s lifts are that they force him to walk like a woman in heels. The lifts do something to the way he stands. Walking downstairs in 4″ lifts – his stride is NOT NORMAL for a guy. Actually he is doing it quite well!

Cammy’s shoes are great and she looks like a woman who spends lots of time out in the sun which she does so she does look older here than many other 37 year old women. But I applaud her for no botox or plastic surgery so far. Tom’s jeans are too small as usual which is how he always wears them. I saw him once walking in NYC and he is quite tiny even with lifts.

They are shiny because it is incredibly hot and humid right now in Japan. A coworker just got back from there and said in the 90′s with close to 100% humidity.
I actually think Tom looks really good here. Sure, he is wearing his lifts, but for all his quirks he is still a damn fine looking man. Too bad he had to turn out so squirrely.
And I really don’t understand what the problem is with the picture of Cami? She has a big smile and looks pretty. ? I’ll bet she’s one of those people who has had acne forever, and who’s skin will never look like porcelein but you know what? People with skin like that actually age better because their skin is naturally thicker and more oily. She’s counting her blessings now.

I just watched Something about Mary over the weekend, and forgot how cute and pretty Cam was back then. I’ll give her credit for not going all plastic, but I feel like she should still take better care of her hair and skin. It’s not like she can’t afford the best.
Those are some of Tom’s more subtle lifts, I’ve seen him wear some doozies. I think people pick on him about it because it’s clearly something that bothers him, but he would NEVER admit to it because of his ego.

I am 5’3″ and my BF is 5’5″ and I love it! We are just the right height for kissing and ahem, other activities.
He is not troubled by being shorter than the average man and it’s endearing.
I have always wished that Tommy Girl would just let all the pretense go and just BE THE HEIGHT HE IS. I mean, he’s got lots of other actual problems to deal with, like the fact that he’s crazy, a control freak and possibly a gay man trying hard to convince everyone that he’s straight.
I would say being short is the least of his worries.
Plus, don’t you hate it when people try to “fool” you by wearing shoe lifts or making their hair really poofy to seem taller? Just be yourself.

Please, Cam looks old people.. One thing about taking care of your skin ezspecially people who are of latin or African decent if you have oily skin growing up that perserves your skin the older you get and Cam is of latin descent. She may smoke but I think she took after her mother, who is white and everyone know most not all white people in America do not age well.. She looks like she is 20 years older than what she should. not hating on her but she really should do something about her skin. I just don’t have a problem with him b/c he’s so good to his extended family — kids, mom, sisters, in-laws etc. More Hollywood people should be like him in that way.
