Emma Watson in Calvin Klein at the NYC Potter premiere: gorgeous or boring?

wenn3100471

These are all photos from the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Jesus, isn’t this Calvin Klein dress beautiful on Emma Watson? Like, it’s just perfect. The cut is gorgeous, the color is great (perhaps a little too dark, but black looks wonderful on her), and the makeup, accessories and styling are fabulous. Emma Watson gets it right consistently, bless her heart. The simplicity of the cut works so well on her slender figure – a girl with a bigger bust (me) could not pull this off at all. Also: Emma’s date last night was her brother, Alex. Alex is rather hot. Okay, he’s really hot. But I don’t know how old he is, so I’m trying to tamp down the cougar.

Look at Emma’s bracelet thing – it’s fabulous.

I love that Rupert Grint went with a three-piece suit. He looks good in a vest! So cute.

Guess who else was at the NYC premiere? My love, Ralph Fiennes. And he brought Liam Neeson along as his date! I love that Liam and Ralph are so incredibly tight, I really do. They show up to each other’s premieres all the time, they go on vacations together, and they just seem like they’re really close, really “real” friends. Also: I could eat Ralph off a cracker. THIS MAN.

This dress is boring compared to that spectacular dress she wore on Letterman… I want to see that again!!!!

  2. Praise St. Angie! says:

she’s gorgeous, the dress is a little boring for my tastes.

but SHE makes it look fab.

  3. carrie says:

great haircut and very boring dress
OT: Neeson and Fiennes are in couple or what? i know they’re best friends but they’re all time together actually

  4. mollyb says:

I know I am going to get slayed for this but I cannot stand Rupert Grint (or the character Ron, in the movies and books). He is just so fugly and his voice and mannerisms are just so incredibly obnoxious to me. I’m sure he’s a nice guy in real life, though!

  5. ams511 says:

    LOVE HER!
    Hate the entire outfit!

    a rare miss, emma….its alright 🙂

  6. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I am loving the seam down the front of the dress. I love the bracelet piece its beautiful. I think Emma looks gorgeous Emma is rocking that pixie cut for all its worth, I think she feels so much more grown up with it.

I like how everyone is styled but it kinda looks like funeral a little. I guess the new Harry Potter movies will be darker in nature so I guess its fitting.

  7. Tess says:

I like the dress but feel no love for it.

It’s proportions suit her. As does the hairstyle. But, I think she could use a little more length, a little bit of messiness… a bit of a tousseled look.

She looks just a little too perfect for my eye. The result is kind of bland for such a pretty girl.

  8. Lady Jane says:

Not really a flattering dress but I lurve her anyway. She needs to stick to a slightly retro look – 40’s – 50’s and take inspiration from Audrey Hepburn. This dress is more Jennifer Anniston and really does nothing for her. The length is awkward (just above the ankles?) it looks like it is made out of wetsuit material and the jewelery is an odd choice. More Chanel, less of whatever this is, please (she says, hoping it isn’t Chanel).

  9. Isa says:

I like her braclet. I don’t like the dress. When the picture was first loading it looked like a bathing suit. It doesn’t look well made. The seam in the middle looks like it bunches up.

  10. Ferguson. says:

    ITA with Lady Jane.

The dress is boring, I dont like it at all. She’s gorgeous and has a great body, which is hidden under this long and weird dress.

No. This time Im not with you, Kaiser. But anyway, I LOVE EMMA.

  11. Dorothy#1 says:

It looks like Malfoy got a tan! HAHA

I don’t like the dress either, doesn’t fit right. I love the way Rupert and Daniel look!!! Rupert is super cute and Daniel works it well (for a hobbit) 🙂

  12. Jaye E says:

I always thought Emma Watson was a pretty girl, but the pixie cut has really upped her “wow” factor.

Rupert Grint looks…dare I say…clean. Tom Felton makes my inner cougar growl.

  13. Cleo says:

The color of the bracelet looks a bit off to me. It was supposed to stand out against the simplicity/plainness of the dress but I’m not sure it worked. I loved Hermione’s GIGANTIC hair. Look how teeny her waist looks.

  14. Carmen says:

She is lovely but seems to be trying too hard to be sexy and grown up in these photos. The sexy, short and lacy LBD she wore in London was much better than this one.

  15. K-MAC says:

    loving that bracelet!

  16. Abby says:

Not my favorite outfit she’s worn, but I love Emma and want to be her.

  17. Francesca says:

Gosh, hate that dress, looks cheap and just out of the packaging (the middle line on the front looks like the dress was folded right there and wasn’t ironed).

    Love her though!

  18. Delta Juliet says:

She is beautiful…the haircut really emphasizes her beautiful doe eyes. The dress……yuck. Not flattering, and rather boring.

  19. Runs with Scissors says:

    lovely

  20. guesty says:

    boring.

  21. voodoobetty says:

    Boring. she looks so 1995

  22. Henriette says:

The dress hangs oddly – puckers and puffs where it shouldn’t. But I like the fact she tries different things: she’s at the age to experiment with hair and clothes and learn what works on her. So, even though I think her hair clip is ridiculous and the dress is unflattering, I say good for her for getting out and taking chances.

  23. Henriette says:

Oh, and Liam needs to lighten up on the makeup and dye!

  24. Cheyenne says:

The dress sets the bracelet off. Overall, she looks great.

  25. Obvious says:

Dress isn’t bad, not a fan of the bracelet-maybe in silver??? but the hideousness comes from that THING on her head.

Thing on the hair just don’t work will with pixie cuts. It looks like a growth!

  26. I Choose Me says:

Did anyone see the navy coat she wore to Letterman? Talk about coat portn. I’m still drooling. Love the dress, love the shoes. Surprisingly I don’t love that bracelet. i.e. I really like the design but it’s too gold. I’m not a fan of yellow gold.

  27. Henriette says:

@ I Choose Me – NO! I didn’t see the coat; please post a link… love coat porn!

  28. sickofit says:

sorry that dress looks like a nightgown?
Def not Chanel. IMO black as colour is not doing it for her.

  29. Liana says:

LOVE the dress. Love love love it. It’s simple, elegant, and she wears it well.

  30. serena says:

I like her, she seems nice and with a good head on her shoulder. She’s also very pretty and this style is perfect for her (and I love the pixie cut).
Anyway the dress..I find it boring, she could do better. Too simple, it doesn’t enhances her chest and her arms at all.

Gosh, her brother is so hot.

  31. serena says:

Yeah yellow gold doesn’t suit her too muc :/

  32. lala in nYc says:

this dress is really, really hard to wear. it’s shiny and creates strange shadows all over that ruin what could be a sleek silhouette.

all that and she still looks great!

  33. Cheyenne says:

@choose: really? I love yellow gold. I wear it 24 hours a day. I don’t like 22k yellow gold, though; it’s too orangy. 14 and 18k is gorgeous.

I can’t stand platinum. It looks tacky to me.

  34. dj says:

I love the dress and her hair. I could do without the barrette in her hair & the bracelet but whatever. I’m just glad there is no fur with crow feathers in it or some other outrageous fugly stuff here. Maybe that is why so many are calling this boring because we have gotten used to so much garishness.

  35. aenflex says:

I fucking love Potter and I love it when you ladies do a Potter-related anything! Thanks!

  36. Raven says:

Like her, don’t like the dress. It looks like a swimsuit with a cover up. She usually gets it right, but everyone is allowed a mistake or two.

  37. Belle Epoch says:

I like the group picture. It looks iike they actually get along.

Not like those horrible forced Sex & The City pictures for example – where they look like each person is standing in a different room even though they are squished together.

    “Hermione” is changing fast!

  38. original kate says:

calvin klein is usually boring, but the bracelet is gorgeous.

  39. Ron says:

Overall it’s elegant but when you have short short hair like she does now, you NEED some sort of earring action in the evening. A nice pair of decent sized gold hoops would have added some umph to it.

  40. Az says:

VodooBetty nailed it. Take away the bracelet and Emma could be hanging out with Gwyneth Paltrow and Winona Ryder back when they were roomies and dating Affleck and Damon. The short hair with the little barrette, the unadorned Calvin Klein slip dress (which actually very much resembles that Narciso Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wore to get married – may she RIP) and the minimal makeup. Put Emma in some Docs and a flannel shirt and she’d be right at home starring in Reality Bites.

  41. I Choose Me says:

    @Henrietta. Here you go. http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jj1/2010/11/watson-letterman/emma-watson-letterman-04.jpg

Tell me that coat isn’t gorgeous. I like the bag too. Also check out this – http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jj1/2010/11/watson-letterman/emma-watson-letterman-03.jpg for a pic of her in a tan double-breasted coat with black leather jacket – it almost looks like one piece but I can’t be sure. She looks fierce in it though.

Cheyenne, I’m not a fan of gold in general. Aside from my wedding ring and two pairs of gold earrings given to me as gifts, I own no gold. I prefer silver believe it or not and quirky, art-crafty type of jewelry. Like stuff made from wires and volcanic rock and the like.

  42. gabs says:

She looks beautiful. A bit smug too though but thats okay sometimes. Her bro is a cutie!

  43. Angel says:

Oh, Tom Felton, the things I would do to you. Grrrr!

You know, I’ve never asked for anyone for HGF, nor have I ever read one of those posts, but I’d be all over that like white on rice if he was featured. (And whatevs, he’s only five years younger than me so it isn’t that bad!)

Actually, you ought to do a Potter themed HGF this week in celebration of the new movie!!! Alan Rickman, Jason Isaac and Tom Felton? Oh god, yesss.

Oh! And Emma looks lovely, as per usual. I wish Calvin Klein would make a dress personally for me!

  44. Camille says:

    Gorgeous.

  45. chris says:

She looks good but the dress isn’t very flattering. I don’t like it. I love her bracelet. It’s awesome. I’m so in love with Rupert Grint and his amazing 3 piece suit. Keep on bringing it this premiere Rupert!! He looks fabulous. 😀

  46. Ruffian9 says:

She’s always gorgeous, I just don’t like satin dresses. On anyone.

  47. Lindy says:

I love her and think she can do no wrong. Can someone please tell me if Alan Rickman is at any of these premieres? And if so, can you pretty please post some pics? (I have a minor obsession. Well, depending on how one defines minor…)

  48. Taurus says:

This look is so Winona Rider circa the mid 90’s. Am I the only one who thinks she looks like a very cute BOY with this haircut?

  49. Laura says:

    Yum, Tom Felton.

  50. Anti-icon says:

The dress kinda says to me: Olympic Swimmer goes to a Premiere. She looks so good in it. I’ve seen her wearing so many stylish dresses that were more “happening” than this.

  51. LT says:

Since HP7 opens tonight at midnight I’m voting Ralph get a clinch spot in HGF!
