Another day, another “Angelina had the babies rumor,” except this time it’s a little closer to her due date and might actually be true. A French gossip magazine called Closer, which doesn’t look much different from US Magazine Star, has a super brief mention that Angelina had the babies. Even though I can’t understand French and have to rely on a translator, it’s easy to tell that it’s short on details and asks people to credit them with the news.
Here’s the rough translation from an online translator:
English automated translation: Exclusively world-wide, Closer is in a position to announce you that Pretty Angelina would have delivered this morning in a French hospital! The star would have returned last night in work room. All forbidden reproduction without the mention of the site closermag.fr
French version: En exclusivité mondiale, Closer est en mesure de vous annoncer qu’Angelina Jolie aurait accouché ce matin dans un hôpital français ! La star serait rentrée hier soir en salle de travail. Toute reproduction interdite sans la mention du site closermag.fr

So she delivered, but there are no details on if she had a boy and girl as expected, where she was even in general, or if was scheduled or unexpected. Just Jared says that it claims she went into labor on Monday night (I think that’s what the “work room” translation is referring to) and gave birth this morning.
It could be true, but it seems like they’d have a little something more to report if it was, and wouldn’t be so quick to insist that they’re credited with this vague exclusive. The website for Closer magazine features some of their other stories about celebrities, including the familiar “beach bodies” and “scary skinny” pictorials. The gossip press isn’t that much different in France it seems, including the penchant to invent stories in order to get publicity. We’ll have to see, but this sounds this total bs to me or they would have a general location of the hospital and/or the sex of the babies.
Update Thanks to commenters Gena and Elisha below for pointing me to this AP article which confirms that Angelina is in a hospital in Nice. There is no news as to whether she’s given birth yet and it’s phrased as if she’s waiting to give birth and her admittance was planned. She is thought to have been on bed rest for a few weeks up until this point.

So how many paparazzi and amateur photographers are going to be crowded around that hospital now? Why would they confirm that she’s there, though? It seems like they would refuse to comment out of respect for her privacy. Maybe Angelina should have rented all the equipment to set up a temporary hospital at that villa where she’s staying.
Update 2: In Touch is reporting that Angelina has checked into the hospital, but is “just resting” dyring a pre-planned visit and has not given birth yet. Her doctor us said to be flying in “later this week”
In Touch has learned that the Wanted star did check into the Hospital Lenval’s Santa Maria clinic in Nice, France, on June 30. “Ms. Jolie came to the hospital last night as part of a pre-planned rest period, before she gives birth,” Nadine Bauer, spokeswoman for the hospital tells In Touch. “The visit has been planned for a long time; there are no complications. She is just resting.” Angelina’s babies are expected to be delivered by French doctor Michele Sussmann and her regular ob/gyn Jason Rothbart, who is due to fly to Europe later this week.

i am so far over this woman it is sick. not only do i not care i am starting to care in a bad way, like if i see her name i hope it’s a nasty write up or that her partnership is busted… i don’t know why, it’s just like suddenly i don’t even want her on the same planet as myself. maybe i need to eat some chocolate, drink a glass of wine and cry. i am sure that’s all it is. one of those girl days.

I’ll be more straight forward. Whenever someone posts their opinion about angelina being anti american it is nothing more than an opinion. Ouch everyone! Although someone has a point… Let’s face it, some of us just don’t respect Angelina Jolie… It really IS unfair to attack someone for their opinion when that’s all they’re expressing… an opinion. In all reality, I have a ton of respect for most of the people on this posting board - you express your opinions, likes, dislikes, etc., with class and open-minded finesse. However, there are a few others on here who seem to take up the stupid gauntlet every time someone disagrees with them. I’ve been on both sides and I can tell you… some of these posters just take things too personally and launch counter attacks when I wasn’t attacking them in any way.
Long story short, give someone a break… he/she has a point.

If anyone was attacking, it was someone. Nobody else called names or got combative until he/she started it.
Sure, the joking around is silly. But it just sort of points out how silly the vehement hatred is. I’m not a Brangelina fan. I just get amazed at the hatred they inspire from people who are strangers to them. And I’ve sat reading the comments by geronimo, bodhi, Mairead, I Choose Me, and others, and almost choked with laughter over the goofy things they come up with.
John is right…Angelina is very beautiful and this is a couple that has done more good in this world than fifty other couples. They’re pretty cool. And they like kids, so they’re having a bunch. Let’s just send our good wishes that Angie and the babies come through the birth healthy and happy.

Her endless PR efforts are becoming annoying.
She always uses other people to annouce things about her.
can understand the need to promote your new movie, and staying in the “news”, but this is to much.
She can do what other actresse do- which is releasing a statemnt AFTER she gives birth.
Making sure the world knows she is in the hospital and making announcements about donating money- right before and after the premiere of your movie is very cheesy and calculating.

Angie doesn’t strike me as the type to “just rest” in the hospital. I think the possibilities are that her blood pressure is up and they are trying to get it down, or that she is having a non-stress test to see how the babies are doing. I just don’t see “resting” in the hospital (even a French one), when you could be hanging out at the chateau. Only time will tell. -
Seems to me the world needs more celebs like Angelina and Brad, who share their considerable wealth with those most in need. I admire them for their generous and caring spirit and only wish lots of other rich and famous celebs would follow in their well-heeled footsteps!

I can see “resting in the hospital” if you have four kids under the age of six at home.
Twins are treated as high risk. A co-worker of mine is expecting twins in 2 months, recently developed a kidney infection and was hospitalized on IVs, where the normal treatment for such an ailment is antibiotics and go on with your life.
As for it being cheesy to let someone else announce it…would you rather she held a press conference to announce it herself?
@ Silly Lilly - the Brangelina threads are always like this. Any other threads, people state their opinions and go on. For some reason this couple inspires so much hate in some people that they make irrational statements and start calling names and being totally ridiculous. That’s where the Badettes come in, to try to restore sanity by laughing at the whole thing.

Seems to me she use IVF to time the premieres of her movies for the pregnancy. It turned out to be twins and ruined her Brangelina red carpet summer. I wonder how much she will pimp these kids out for. Is she going to quit working? 6 kids? Brad is going to have an over doze on anti depressants. I hope this litter keeps them home. France, please keep them forever.

Well it will be a hell of a six week for her to regain her figure, which is sometimes why I think maybe they just want to cheat some weeks out…also the twins might need some care at the begining as well,plus kids, so there wont be time for personal trainer for a while. -

I’m not sure I understand the distinction between the Badettes and the Brangeloonies, but it sure seems like the folks who worship A Jolie, pounce on those who don’t. I would also add that those of us who don’t give a crap about AJ or Brad Pitt, still try to keep the peace with rational comments - despite the “jokes” the Badettes use to restore “sanity”.
Another quick note… IMO, in order to keep the conversation focused, the best way to restore sanity is to acknowledge the opinion of others and change the subject or return the focus to the original subject/thread of conversation. Mocking others because their opinion differs from the majority, does not return sanity. And… I’m NOT saying that you (personally) mock others… but there are some who do.
