I used to think she was so pretty, but she’s getting hard looking fast. Why do Hollywood parents want their children to grow up so fast? My daughter just months older than Lourdes and she looks younger.

I think she has been bugging mom to do this for a while I remember a quote where Madge says something about trying to explain to her once you dye your hair you can’t get the original color back. But no I don’t think 14 is too old. High School is exactly the time when you are allowed to dye your hair its a right of passage.

I don’t think she’s too young to dye her hair. I lightened mine (and regretted it) when I was about 12-13. It’s not irreversible. Considering all the stuff her mother’s done over the years, she’s turning out to be a pretty tame kid.

I started at 15, I have been all colors of the rainbow. But with black you really need to be careful. I think the black hair looks harsh on her. It looked awful on me too! I don’t think she is too young. She doesn’t strike me as the kind of kid who is smoking cigarettes and pot and stealing jim beam minibottles so I think a little hair dye is ok. Ugh. Another celebrity offspring forced upon us? Lourdes WREAKS of becoming the next Potato-Head Willis, I mean Rumer Willis. I’m so sick of these celebrity parents stating matter-of-factly “my child is so talented!” as if they are an objective judge of a) talent; b) their child.

My two cents? Lourdes is not attractive, the black hair and black eyeliner just highlight that she is a completely plain girl and with an unmemorable face. Her clothing line is not attractive either, and completely useless. This 14 year old should go back to school and become a doctor. She ought to do something useful with all her mother’s money, since she is one of the few who can still afford higher education at this point.

On the hair, I say it’s a big “whatever.” I started at 13, and with my mother’s consent/input. her skin is typically covered, which I appreciate, and there’s something in her face/eyes wherein she seems more “present” than most celebuspawn. I think Lourdes is gorgeous. Growing through an awkward stage, but still a very beautiful girl. Lola’s hair was dark brown and I read that she wants to dye it red or a red/black combo. Kind of like Shakira’s hair before she began singing in english. Like this I think:

    http://www.shakiragallery.com/albums/userpics/10001/normal_pmp_19296.jpg

I like Lola’s hair brown because it looks better on her and compliments her skin tone. I agree that she’s looking too mature and not in a good way. The eyeliner is way too heavy. Maybe Taylor Momsen applied her make-up? j/k

It’s up to Madonna and Carlos to decide if Lola is too young to begin coloring her hair. If she has her parents permission then go for it.

  49. Anaya says:

Lola said this about dying her hair a couple of months ago.

“I wouldn’t go blonde,” Lourdes told reporters.

“I’d like to do a darker color — a really dark, dark red,” she explained.

So either Lola’s changed her mind having chosen the classic gothic black hair or the black hair is the first step taken before she ultimately goes red.

If she were my child, she would not be allowed to use permanent dye before she was 16.

Manic Panic, or a semi permanent sure but that’s it.

    1. It can fuck up your hair over time (though as Madonna’s child, I am sure that will not happen). Teenagers like to dye it 20 million colors in, like, a month. It dries it out and can even lead to breakage and thinning.

    2. I am going to quote my sister here “you have such a short window to just be a kid. Be a kid.”

But since she isn’t my child, I could care less. At least she isn’t like Gwen Stefani dying her toddler’s hair. Now THAT is F-ing ridiculous.

Lisa Turtle: wreak means to take vengeance, or inflict punishment on someone or something (wreaking havoc).

Reek means to give off a strong, pungent or offensive smell or, colloquially, to give off a strong sense of something i.e. of becoming the next Rumer Willis.

Hopefully she does get some schooling and reads a bit in order to get her homonyms down.

  56. ohduho says:

Lourdes isn’t too young to dye her hair. It’s probably temp or semi-permanent color. I would think Madonna had a professional do the color even if it was temp color.

I grew up with a mom and much older sister who loved dyeing their hair. I would watch them change hues each month then at 7 I asked if my mom could dye my hair too.

She didn’t want to use permanent dye on my virgin hair so she took my to her stylist and had them do a color rinse on it. My normally dark brown hair was tinted reddish auburn to match my mom’s hair color. I loved it and it washed out after a month. My mom had it done at least once a year til I reached 11.

I don’t even want to discuss the crap I pulled at 11 when I poured hydrogen peroxide and sun-in on my hair because I wanted highlights that matched John Taylor of Duran Duran. I did an amazing amount of damage to my hair that no stylist could correct. Only solution was to shave it all off and force me to deal with having no hair.

I am impressed! She goes to LaGuardia! I didn’t know Madonna had Lourdes in Public school.

For non NYC residents, LaGuardia is the old Music & Art aka the NYC school for the arts that the original movie, Fame, is based on. You have to audition to get in as either a music (vocal or instrument), dance, or theater major. It’s possible she sucked and got in as “Madonna’s daughter”, but something tells me the kid got in on her own merit…

Of course she’s too young for hair colour and black eyeliner at twelve years old but who gives a f*c*? She’s Madonna’s daughter so she’s going to do it anyway and we’re going to be talking about her inappropriateness, and her clothing line, and her high fashion modelling, and her singing, and her surprisingly good acting or hereditarily bad acting skills etc. It’s now only just begun; Madonna is passing the torch.

Yes, she’s too young to dye her hair, but she is also too young to wear that eye-liner and that skin-tight dress. And is she actually wearing foundation? Doesn’t she know that women wear foundation to make their skin look like it did when they were younger? When you are 14 you have no reason to wear foundation. My parents didn’t let me paint my fingernails until I was 16 — and then only a blush pink. I resented it at the time, but now that I’m older I agree — there is something to be said about staying a kid — there is plenty of time to dye your hair when you’re older.

Not at all. Her mother said she could dye her hair when she turned 14. So she’s 14 now and I assume has dyed her hair since she was apparently chomping at the bit to do so. Why is this non-issue even mentioned? Also the all around the eyes eyeliner is not a good look on pretty much anyone.

Dear God, some of the judgement – I’m mostly liking what I’m hearing from those who have either dyed their hair or have kids who dyed it, but the whole “inappropriate-ness” label is a little “over-the-top”, I think.

Like “ohduho”, my girls were 36C’s when I was 12, and they didn’t stay that way for long! (Nothing to be done about nature at that tender young age.) Needless to say, the boys loved me, and the girls hated me. C’est La Vie.

Normally – at least from the photos I’ve seen on CB – she looks cute, but this is not a cute look. She looks a bit haggard. I guess she’s going for edgy, but she just looks bloated and greasy, in my opinion. I don’t buy that she’s a child and therefore it’s not appropriate to comment on her, she’s (or those around her) clearly marketing herself as a celebrity/designer.

Nice skin or not, she – well, most people, I bet – wouldn’t look good in a professional photo without some foundation on. And she wouldn’t look “right” if she wore eye makeup and no foundation, your eyes would go right to the makeup. If you start making up your face, you need to finish it, even if only using sheer moisturizer and a light powder.
Looking again at her, it looks like she is just wearing some foundation for evenness, it’s not caked.
