Miley Cyrus says she cried for a month after breakup with Nick Jonas

Miley Cyrus will probably be a billionaire by the time she’s 20, and I’m not exaggerating, but she’s still just a 15 year old kid. When you’re 15, life seems super intense and your emotions are always right at the surface waiting to boil over. You think your problems are deep and serious, and they certainly are at the time, but you eventually realize that the social intricacies of the ninth grade just don’t mean much in the scheme of your life or even next month.

Miley has a new interview with Seventeen Magazine in which she admits to her rumored relationship with fellow musician and teen sensation Nick Jonas, 15. Miley says that she “bawled for a month” after they broke up. She also said she dyed her hair black shortly afterwards in order to rebel against Nick’s expectations of her. That’s what 15 year-old girls do. Miley colored her hair in January, so I guess we can assume that’s when they split. The article doesn’t say how long the two were together, but really does it matter?

Miley Cyrus didn’t take her split with Nick Jonas lightly.

“At first I bawled for a month straight,” she tells September’s Seventeen (as excerpted by Access Hollywood). “I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black.”

While they were dating, “Nick wanted me to get highlights – and so I did that, and I got myself looking great,” she recalls.

“And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, ‘I want to make my hair black now – I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core.’

“I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be,” Cyrus explains. “And then I was like, ‘I’ve got to be by myself for now, and just figure out who I really am.’”

The 15-year-old Hannah Montana singer — who recently said she’s “lookin'” for a boyfriend — also says she relies on close friends to support her when “weird, personal things about me” wind up on the Internet.

“I think you’ve got to keep a very close circle of people you can trust,” she says. “I’ve had so much drama with girlfriends. A lot of them became those tabloid sources you read about.”

She says she “can’t think of one other friend” she can trust besides her YouTube pal Mandy Jiroux.

[From US Weekly]

Nick is now said to be dating Disney star Selena Gomez, 16, who is often called Miley’s rival. Miley says she’s friends with Selena, but she did record a YouTube video with her friend Mandy mocking one of Selena’s YouTube videos with her friend. I wasted like a half an hour watching videos from Miley’s channel and Selena’s channel a couple of weeks ago trying to figure out that story and I got so annoyed, particularly at Miley, that I gave up and didn’t report it. Selena and her friend definitely come off as more mature in their videos. These are still kids to me, though, and I don’t find their foibles that interesting. I used to feel that way about Hayden Panettiere too, but then she decided to care about the dolphins. Maybe Miley should get a cause and quit wallowing in her own problems. She’s 15 though, I’ll give her a break.

Miley and her BFF Mandy are shown at the Teen Choice Awards on 8/3/08, thanks to WENN. From what I could find, Mandy is at least 21 is 20, according to her Myspace. [Thanks MonicaBee]

The “official” Mandy Jiroux myspace says she’s 20.

    However, my little sister’s myspace says she’s 20… but she’s really only 17. 😕

    Who knows.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe, maybe she shouldn’t take skanky pictures of herself then. I’m not saying that the hackers who stole said pictures are justified, but come on. Knowing how other famous airheads such as Paris, Lindsay, and even Vanessa whatsherface have been hacked and had their personal stuff pasted on the ‘net for all to see, one would undoubetdly be smart enough to not put themself in such a compromising situation in the first place. Using the excuse that Miley is “young and immature” is really no excuse for sheer idiocy.

  3. Lauri says:

A.J., I think you forget how incredibly stupid teenagers are. It’s just the way they are; they are still children in a lot of ways, even though their bodies are maturing. At her age, yes, it is appropriate to blame her poor judgement on youth and immaturity. Add to the mix that she is so very much in the public eye, and that is a recipe for disaster-most girls get to live down their idiotic behavior and move forward; not so much for a kid in the public eye.

  4. G. says:

May I ask why a supposed 20 year old would want to hang out with a immature 15 year old?

  5. Kris says:

Lol the 20 year old isn’t mature either. Did you see the video with her and Miley where she disses those other girls?

  6. Nouvel says:

OMG she is soooooooo irritating. She is so annoying and wierd.. wth??

  7. Snowblood says:

This Miley Cyrus is really, really annoying. She’s just naturally irritating. I started becoming annoyed by her when I saw her being one of the presenters at the Oscars last year. What the hell has she got to do with the Academy Awards? Emmys, sure but the Oscars?

And hey, I don’t care how many get-out-of-jail-free cards she gets to collect right now for her idiotic behaviour/personality just because she’s a teenager; if she’s annoying & hypocritical now, and is cool with pretending the Christian thing whilst having affairs with boys and taking salacious picture after slutty picture of herself, she’ll have those qualities her whole life. I mean, cool, be the slut you were born to be, nothing wrong with being true to yourself and nothing wrong with sluttin’ it up a little if that’s your thing, but to be so blatantly hypocritical about yourself, is just bulls**t. I don’t care for this girl, not at all.

  8. Samantha says:

OMG, Twinsies!! Seriously, I thought that was her sister when I first saw the pic. Is it sickening to anyone else how similar they look in this picture??? Oh, yes Sam, keep in mind she is 15 and its cool when you are that age….wait, her friend is 20? hmm…*rubs chin* I guess if my best friend was a multi-millionaire, I would let her dress me up like twinsies too.

  9. drm says:

My twin teenage boys are almost 14 and this is the way teenagers talk. I like Miley, I’m happy to have my twins watch her on telly, they think she’s ‘hot’.

And those pictures she took of herself? They aren’t skanky at all. She’s fifteen, you are becoming aware of your own sexuality, you’re curious, ITS NORMAL. What is not normal is all this puritanical , self righteous name calling…give the young woman a break.

  10. czarina says:

How many of us would like to have everything we did during our 15th and 16th year being reported to the world?
I am not a hypocrite, so I am in no position to criticize Miley Cyrus. When I was 15/16 I did a lot of very stupid, embarassing, emotional things. (I was not a bad person, but I sure wasn’t in the running for Miss Maturity!)
I really don’t think she is doing anything different than other girls her age (exploring her body and her sexuality in “sexy” clothes and taking “daring” pictures, dating, hanging with friends and occasionally being snotty to other girls).
I don’t think it’s fair to brand a young lady a “slut” for taking pictures (wearing the equivalent of a bikini) or for dating boys.
How hard must it be to have total strangers be that nasty and judgmental towards you?
I’m lucky I didn’t have people telling me how I behaved at 15 “were the qualities I would have my whole life.”

  11. rottenkitty says:

Oh Lord, save me from the sanctimonious pronouncements of people who have never been young and foolish. Because, thank heavens, everyone who posts on this site have lived their life with the perfection of Jesus. (BTW, if you can’t tell this was meant to be dripping with sarcasm, well, pity about that…)

Miley Cyrus will indeed be fabulously wealthy. Forbes lists her as the top of their list of wealthiest teen earners. She pulls in a cool 3.5 million a year.

As for these “stunts,” some of them can be attributed to youthful indiscretion, but some could be being done with a canny eye toward her adult career post-Hannah Montana.

Tweens don’t stay tweens forever. Just ask the Jonas Brothers in three years when their demographic has moved on and they’re too old for the new crop of tween girls.

  12. Orangejulius says:

Don’t want to jump on a bashing bandwagon, but I’ve got to admit, I just don’t get the appeal of this girl. It’s nice that she got this far without being pretty thanks to her dad, but wtf?

  13. Christina X says:

Yeah, Miley, because black hair inherently represents depression.

  14. anele says:

Which issues does she write all this so i can make sure to NOT buy it .

  15. A.J. says:

I’m not bashing her for taking the pictures per se, but I’m calling her out for being a fucking hypocrite. Don’t go around saying what a hardcore Christian you are and how you have such high moral standards and proclaim to be a virgin, and then turn around and take pictures of yourself in wet tshirts and little underwear. She is a hypocrite, and that is a disgusting quality that I for one do not want my children exposed to.

  16. Cassie says:

Who can blame Miley for the racy pictures? As soon as my boobs started sprouting up, I was eager to flaunt them (although digital cameras weren’t so prevalent back then)

She’s not some sort of sexual deviant for taking those pictures. Just a normal kid entering into puberty. I do question why her parents haven’t taken the camera away yet, though.

As for the melodramatic change in hair color- give her a break. Sure, the symbolism is slightly hackneyed, but I challenge everyone criticizing her to open up their journals from when they were 15. When my first boyfriend dumped me, I listened to Adam’s Song over and over and employed corny lines such as, “I feel numb. I don’t know how I’ll live without him. Life as I know it has come to an end.”

Anyone who somehow bypassed this stage of utter lameness must be some sort of emotional anomaly.

  17. Salty Beans says:

She cuts, bleeds and takes a dump like everyone else. Big deal…everyone has a relationship that didn’t work out.

  18. Because I say So says:

I just don’t like the Disney machine, which includes all of their ripe-for-the-plucking future adult entertainment stars. I mean, really, that’s what these girls are being groomed for: first being whored out by their parents & then by Disney and other media. Her “talent” such as it is, is for selling a package. She promotes a “Christian” upbringing and moral system, but then undermines it with questionable judgment from her parents and her own behavior. I think a boycott of Disney is in order to stop this blatant sexploitation of teens, tweens, and the younger set.

  19. Because I say So says:

And a final comment: any 20 year old that chooses to hang with a blatantly immature, self-absorbed 15 year old must not be too mature herself. And it is rather disturbing how similar they look. Who came first– th chicken or the slut?

  20. SiRA l. says:

I think everyone should just leave Miley alone!!!!!

She is only and 15. she is still a child, i mean give her a break no one is perfect.

obviously she is immature, but weren’t you when you were 15.

and if you think she is so annoyin why even bother commenting or even lookin at any website heading etc. of hers.

LEAVE HER ALONE> AND HOP OFF

  21. lauren says:

miley its just a break up suck it up!!!! 😡

  22. paris herpes says:

A 20 year old only hangs out with a 15 year old if the 15 year old in question is a millionaire. And Miley is, so, that answers your question.

  23. Christina X says:

Cassie, I wish I was about five years younger so I can blame my lack of class and discretions on my age.

I developed at a young age, and well, I never liked my body, but as other girls began to develop, they showed it off, but not in such a disturbing manner. There’s a difference between wearing cute outfits that flatter your newly matured body, and outright flashing your panties.

Call me a prude, but all of my pictures have always been from the neck up. A lot of girls take pictures of themselves in cute outfits or posing with their friends, but they’re not making disgusting “come hither” faces while flashing their undergarments. That’s ASKING for negative attention.

Sure, some girls took skanky pictures like that and posted them on Myspace, but none of them have good reputations. As a matter of fact, one’s already pregnant, and one had sex with a twenty two year old; at the time she was fifteen years old.

But that’s fine. Since everyone else is doing it, there’s nothing wrong with it.

I was a teenager five months ago, and I have two teenaged sisters. I know my fourteen year old youngest sister never felt tempted to take pictures of herself in her underwear, but then again, she never really cared too much about popularity and attention, and let’s face it, that’s people do these things.

For the record, I’m still devastated from the last and only relationship of mine failing. I didn’t know you’d get so offended by me making a joke about the corny black hair dye story.

  24. Snowblood says:

Damn, ChristinaX. I’ve just re-read all the comments here which’ve come up again since the last time I was here, including of course yours, and I’ve really been trying HARD to make some kind of muddled, weird sense between whatever it is you’re tryna say with that above post to Cassie, and whatever your post there to Cassie has anything whatsoever with the teenage Miley Cyrus chick. Or, how your post to Cassie has anything to do with the celebrity/story of this thread. Or other things.

But, look: I’m – too well-nicely buzzed off my Saturday night birthday Champagne & bowl of homegrown to put any more even semi-serious effort into Celebrity nonsense gossip-arguing, so, eh.

What I’m saying, or been trying to say, is that you make no sense, ChristinaX, NO sense, none. I mean, what the hell are you even SAYing in that long-ass post of yours up there? Seriously, I’m not even joking, for real – what?! Really, what is it? For real!

    What?!

  25. kat says:

oh shut up people.. it’s not easy when u have a break up.. admit it.. u cry and wallow and self pity.. so y shouldn’t miley do the same..? she’s also a human being.. ur crazy people.. saying suck it up and all.. i’d wish that u guys have breakups and let’s see if u can suck it up.. stupid idiots

  26. Christina X says:

    How doesn’t it make sense?

Let’s recap what triggered my response:

She defended Miley Cyrus for the racy photo debacle, with the “She’s a teenaged girl! Everyone does it” card, to which I proved that wasn’t true.

I’m not sure what I said that set YOU to attack mode, but sorry. This is not only the first, second, but the third time, you were unnecessarily snarky, and it’s getting annoying, because generally, I don’t ever aim to offend any users on this forum. I hate having to be aggressive toward you or anyone for that matter, but this is getting a little bit ridiculous.

  27. kymmiexkins says:

dyeing your haiirr for a boy? not wanting to look pretty? c’mon how pathetic can you be, considering how amazing nickjonas is, miley’s just a somewhat of a slut.
