I couldn’t listen to the entire clip of her singing. I can’t carry a tune and know it, but don’t her friends tell her the truth?
Agree with CB; stay with acting.

Off base here, but am I the only one repulsed by the commercials for her new soft core porn, Woody Allen flick?

What, he can’t stick to funny murder mysteries? It’s got to be T and A? Upsetting. Woody, he lives up to only his name.

I’ll open with she sings as well as she acts. But CB, she should “stay with acting??” I’m sorry but with the exception of “Ghost World,” (okay and “Lost in Trans” – but that was less about dialogue, more about staring off into the distance …albeit intently and with gravitas) I find it painful to watch her act. She certainly looks good on screen (in person, I truly appall her unflattering style) but where’s the talent? I’m not a hater but just don’t understand how she is hired and tolerated at such a high level in the industry – and so often paired with some major talents. If you disagree – set me straight. Someone direct me to a performance of her’s that isn’t stilted, forced or that simply doesn’t hold weight. I’ve never read a wholly complementarily review about any of her work (save the first two movies I mentioned) so I know I’m not too far adrift with my opinion.

The public radio station here played the first single whenever they got bored and just laughed through it. So if I were her, I’d stick to acting…and getting better at that.

I didn’t even know she was engages to Ryan Reynolds! When did that happen?? I’m going to agree with CB with the whole really private thing.

Nikki, I see what you mean and I am not going to disagree., but…..
I did like “Girl with a Pearl Earring”, that could be my love for Colin Firth. “The Other Boleyn Girl”, thought she was good, but love Eric Bana.

Hmmmm, okay you won that one!

Agree with Nikki. She’s good at acting bored (Ghost World, Lost in Translation) but any other time she’s just flat. (Obviously not physically.)

I could be just a total prissy loser.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Heh.

Only thing I’ve ever “seen” her in was the Spongebob Squarepants movie, and she was AWFUL.

It seems something has been done to correct those horribly bloated jowles of hers. Can’t they do anything for Jen Aniston? Probably not, they’d need a sawzall for that.

Just read this right now–I’m honored to have started a debate on celebrity interviews!!LOL
Yes, I thought she did a good job in the interview. (have never seen her act or heard her sing…ok, I know it seems sometimes like I’m living under a rock, but there you go).
So, based solely on the interview, I thought she did a good job of being approachable and personable but not ‘too’ open or giving up way too much information (i.e.Katie Price).
Maybe we need an interview points system?

I thought she was 30 years old…I didn’t know that she was so young…I found her pretty good in Match point, but I don’t like her voice…Her look is awful..

Sorry, you must be confused. This isn’t DListed. I’m not taking the bait. I have no reason to be angry w/myself or my life. Oh, look, maybe I did get baited. You always have to be in some kind of argument w/someone. Try skydiving. It works.

“Johansson lost me when she started talking about flaws making people beautiful”

    — You’re a blogger who obsesses over Paris Hilton and L. Lohan. I’m not surprised you were lost by what she was saying about flaws and beauty.

  23. Scarlett doesn’t even need to act. She should just sit there and look like Marylin Monroe. No singing either.
