These are photos of Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd in Berlin yesterday. They were promoting How Do You Know?, that film that bombed stateside. Gotta sell, sell, sell in Europe. And since Reese is putting on her strained happy face (seriously, that smile looks painful in some of these photos), Reese also decided to openly flash her new engagement ring from her fiancé Jim Toth. Jim has great taste in jewelry. Look at how beautiful this ring is:
Simple. Elegant. Big, but not gaudy. Classic setting, solitary diamond. Not only is this just a really gorgeous and classic ring, but it also suits Reese’s style and personality. Sigh… Jim wins. Reese wins too. By the way, her dress is Giambattista Valli. I’m surprised it’s an actual designer outfit – it looks so simple. I figured it was from, like, Banana Republic. Reese seems like she would shop at Banana Republic, doesn’t she?

I’ve never thought her smiles looked genuine, she has this kind of ‘cheeeese!’ expression for the cameras. They do look extra strained here. On that fourth photo it’s more like just showing her teeth..
I just don’t get this thing for those oversized rocks on engagement rings. It looks like it was bought in a toy store as an accessory for a princess costume.

I think it says a lot more than she can be wearing all black without showing cleavage or bare legs to promote a movie. She’s Reese Witherspoon. She doesn’t need to TRY unlike starlets.

The wedding band to go beneath it, eventually, must be quite wide, judging by the thin shank on the engagement ring. If this looks nice, it will probably look unbelievable with the wedding band. The jeweler is probably the one with the good taste, not Toth.

The ring looks slightly too big and should be sized to fit properly on her finger. Pretty design, but such a big and clunky stone doesn’t seem practical for everyday wear, especially for a mother of young children. Guess she’ll have to reserve it for the red carpet and nights out.
What on earth does she do to get her hair so shiny and silky? It’s practically glowing.
It looks like a safe, easy and fairly comfortable outfit to throw on and look presentable in when you are dog tired from travelling. I agree, her smile looks forced, but she did show up, looked appropriate and performed.
Paul Rudd’s smile looks more strained than hers. She looks great. Beautiful ring too.

On the fashion side of things, she’s wearing tights because it’s WINTER. There was probably snow outside, hence the covered legs and booties. Practical, but not her best fashion moment by any means…

I don’t dislike her, but I’m not a huge fan either. She seems like a normal, common-sense kind of girl.
Having said that, I actually really liked the movie. I’d recommend it to my friends. I think it just suffered from bad box office timing.
In the movie, she plays an athlete who gets a bit of bad news. Paul Rudd plays a down on his luck guy too. I think the movie was about how to change yourself as a person when life throws you a curve ball.
