The National Enquirer is set to report that David Duchovny didn’t go to sex rehab for an Internet porn addiction, as has been rumored, he went because he was plain cheating on his wife, as everyone assumed from the start. The Enquirer says that he got busted and instead of getting his ass handed to him his wife Tea Leoni told him he could go to rehab as a last ditch effort to save their marriage of 11 years.
David Duchovny cheated on his wife for years before finally entering a rehab clinic for sex addiction according to a US magazine.
The X Files star allegedly agreed to seek treatment after heartbroken Tea Leoni discovered his indiscretions and threatened to divorce him.
‘He said Tea gave him an ultimatum: Get treatment or our marriage is over,’ a source is quoted as telling the National Enquirer.
‘She felt it was ruining their marriage and affecting their kids.’
The actor has been married to the Deep Impact actress for 11 years, and the couple have a daughter, Madelaine West, nine, and a six-year-old son, Kyd.
According to the source, Duchovny has admitted that he is compulsively driven to be unfaithful and finds it impossible to turn down the legions of women who offer themselves to him.
Leoni is said to have grown suspicious of her husband’s behaviour in recent months and after questioning him on a number of occasions, the 48-year-old finally admitted that he had been cheating on her.
Duchovny checked into The Meadows facility in Arizona last week and is currently completing a 35 day course. His wife has been to visit him at the centre several times.

‘Tea drove to The Meadows every day during the four days she was in town,’ the source is quoting as saying.
Although they are still very much in love, the pair’s marriage is though to be hanging by a thread.
In a statement, before his admittance the actor said: ‘I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction

If the National Enquirer reported it, it’s much more likely to be based on credible sources than some other gossip magazines, and it’s likely to be true. Maybe it was Duchovny’s camp who leaked the ‘net addiction stories in order to make it seem like less of an offense. If your husband was cheating for years would you give him another chance if he sought treatment for it? When there are kids involved, it gets much more complicated I guess. Seems pretty cut and dried to me though.

Ha! Some of us called this on the very first thread about this story and suggested it was a PR spin to make it look slightly less sleazy. Not that I’m gloating or anything, it’s very sad for his family.
But it reeked of plain old skanking about from the get-go, not clinical sex addiction.

I read an article years ago — when they first got married or first got really serious — where they both said how much they loved “phone sex” and how they loved talking dirty to each other. Now looking back — I’m betting it was more HIM than her that was in to it. Kinda makes me think he’s creepy.
And, no, I could not stay with my husband if I found out he’d been cheating on me. That just changes everything.

David simply became ‘addicted’ to looking at pornography online, like million of other men do daily - although he felt it was getting out of control.

Seriously, do other women blame the wife for looking mousey because it makes them feel that there’s a ‘reason’ for the man cheating, and so it won’t happen to them? It’s just him. Some of the most beautiful women in the business have been shamelessly cheated on. It’s not about looks.
I don’t think I’d want to stay with a cheating husband - with or without kids. All that extra energy wondering if he’s really where he says he is or off cheating somewhere could surely be spent elsewhere and more constructively.
I really think it’s important to observe a guy’s behaviour patterns before you think it’s a good idea to get married. And a lot of guys just say it straight off don’t get taken seriously. In fact, they ALWAYS tell you in some way before you commit - either with their mouths or by their behaviour.
Anyway, if we’re all taken with the idea that he’s been cheating, it’s only a matter of time before they dig up the who(s) and the where(s). This story could run and run, depending on how loose he’s been.

That’s hilarious. Somehow I find that hard to believe. Like there’s really a swarm of women out there just dying to get in bed with Mulder. Yeah, right.
I’m not sure, but I don’t think you can really be addicted to sex. I think it just shows that you’re lacking self-control and your morals are messed up. Finding it hard to restrain yourself from watching porn is one thing, but if you’re actively going out and looking for sex that’s another. And I doubt all these vaginas are just falling in his lap, I don’t think he has very good judgement. Hopefully if it really is an addiction he’ll get the help he needs. If I were her I would have totally left his ass, though.

I think Tea Leoni is beautiful, smart and witty. Have you seen any interviews with her? Very appealing.
Oh, and even if she were some morbidly obese fishwife, it wouldn’t make it HER fault that he cheated. Misogynists! He’s the villain here!

If he’s truly addicted, it’s from the rush of brain chemicals released during his “fix”. (Like a gambling/shopping addict). And screwing someone NEW or pushing the envelope each time that is the high. It has nothing to do with how attracted he is/how much he loves Tea. She could be on her back 24/7 but that wouldn’t solve DD’s problem. It’s the newness, conquest and variety that gets the addict off. Literally.
He’s sounded for years in interviews like he was seriously perved out. DD did an interview a year or two ago where he was laughing with the host at his like 4-5 y.o. son telling the babysitter she was “sexy” and went on to say the child told her that her *insert anatomically correct genital name* looked nice. Hollywood or not, does one think a kid would learn that a preschool? Skeeved me out BAD.

She is one of those women who seems not only pretty, but also sweet and actually a nice person.
I have a friend who has to cheat.
He cheated on his girlfriends and it continued to his marriage.His father was the same. I think it’s genetics for some people.
I can’t judge her for staying with him. Even without children, it’s very difficult to leave a person you love and walk out after so many years.
However, a women like should have no problem finding men.

I agree Ethan. I actually learned to like HIM because he hooked up with HER - not the other way around. Never a big fan of the X-Files so I didn’t pay any attention to him. If the marriage breaks up…his loss.

The guy is freaking sexxxy! And, let´s remeber he´s 48, and never looked hotter. I loved him in X Files, and I think Tea is a beautiful woman, they have a beautiful family. That said, and remember - i´m a huge fan, and i´m one of those women who would love to be in his list/line - he says terrible things in his interviews, most of them related to sex. IN the XF2 promos he recently said that what he and Tea have is special, because he thougt he would never settle down - and, if i´m not mistaken, the actual words were “my Huge sex interest” or something like that - and here they are, 11 years later and still going strong. Hey, if his business weren´t online sex - and doubt it was - he ´s a big fat liar. A smoking hot liar. I don´t believe in “ex-cheaters”, once a cheater, always a cheater (at least in your heart you - the cheater- will always feel the need to have someone else). I cheated my boyfriend some times, never regreted, married him and love him dearly, i´m a fatihful wife, but i´m also flesh and bones, and sometimes…oh, my… But I don´t go for it anymore. I´m mature enough to know the consequences. I think the difference in being human and crossing the line and being a sex addict lies here: having the urge and actually doing it - no pun intended. But my heart aches when I think about all the pain Tea may have been suffering, and I feel really bad for him, because if he´s really addict, he´s problably feeling like he´s looking: guilty and ashamed. -

Whats really weird in an earlier interview {And darn I’m trying to find it} Tea said that if David did have a sexual addiction it was sexy, to which I thought is this woman sick in the head or what!!

That being said: who the heck wouldn’t have cheated on Scrawny-Legs Crooked-Mouth Bad Actress Leoni? Doesn’t take a sex addiction for that.
I’m still mad at her for marrying him before I ever got the chance to, as I used to dream of when I was 8 years old
