VMAN Magazine just sent us their new Kanye West cover and cover shoot. The photos were done by Karl Lagerfeld, who apparently is a big fan of Kanye. Of course. I would love to sit around with Kanye and Karl… I was going to spin a tale about what that would be like, but I can’t even fathom that awesomeness. As for the photo shoot – eh. Do you think it was Karl’s idea to have those electric waves coming off of Kanye?

I was not a fan of Kanye until I got his album… My Beautiful… is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, and I am a self-admitted music junkie of all genres. I so wanted to hate the album and I didn’t even want to get it because I loathed his personality so much, but once I did…wow. He even has a self effacing song about the fact that he’s a d-bag, so at least he can make fun of himself. Now I think his personality is amusing and so are his tweets, and if he wants to act like he’s God’s gift to humankind who cares? He’s not hurting anyone and he has the real talent – both as a producer and as a rapper – to at least partially back up his larger-than-life claims. As for the kazoo quote, I dig it. *kanyeshrug*

My friend drives a limo in Vegas and had Kanye in his car once. He said Kanye reffered to himself in 3rd person and would only speak through an assistant. It went something like this:
Kanye: “Kanye’s hot.”
Assistant: “Kanye’s hot.”
Kanye: “Kanye’s cold.”
Assistant: “Kanye’s cold.”
And so on…

I think he is very talented. His album is very good, his mother was always proud of his accomplishments.
I believed without a doubt his mom is looking down from heaven and smiling knowing that her little boy fell down, was sorry for what he did, apologized then decided to get back up and try to stand again and you have no right saying his mother is ashamed of him.

I live in Asia so I dont keep up with the American music lingo but..what the HECK does that even mean??
I looked up Kazoo on the urban dictionary website and it says there that Kazoo means – “to quote onseself ad nauseum”. But the real awesomeness comes after the definition of Kazoo – and I quote – “people who tend to kazoo are often grossly egotistical”. How ab fab!!
Let me explain the whole “kazoo” issue for you guys…
First of all, if you didn’t already know, Kanye is putting out a collaboration album with Jay-Z next month (called Watch the Throne) and he is also (claiming to be) putting out another studio album this summer (it will probably get delayed till early next year). When he said “I just threw some kazoo on this bitch”, he was probably referring to the beat he was making for either of these albums. Since Kanye actually makes his own beats (something 99% of rappers nowadays do not do), and because of his intention to do things creatively and uniquely, he was probably adding the sound of a kazoo (that annoying little horn you blow at New Year’s parties and other similar occasions) to one of the tracks. He also recently tweeted something like “I just threw some bassoon on this motherfucker”, so apparently his new project is making use of obscure instruments you wouldn’t normally hear in hip hop.
But that’s why Kanye is the only rapper on the radio that I listen to on a regular basis! Because he does things nobody else would ever even consider doing.
As for the photos… Meh.
