Christina Hendricks did voice work for an animated film called All-Star Superman, which seems like a direct-to-DVD affair. But still, they had a little party for the project, and Christina and her husband walked the red carpet. Now, it wasn’t really an occasion for some flashy cocktail dress… but is this ensemble a good idea ever? A glittery boob capelet and some bunchy old-man pants? Oh, Christina. The only way this could be worse is if she wore her Sgt. Pepper coat over this outfit. I seriously think that her clothing issues aren’t about her curvy body whatsoever. I think the girl just has bad style.
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks made a decidedly lacklustre red carpet entrance last night as she attended a screening in New York. The 35-year-old actress donned a pair of high-waisted trousers and a tucked-in bunchy blouse. Her ensemble, which she teamed with a bejewelled shrug, was a far cry from her usually-glamorous attire.
Hendricks, who is famous for her curves, usually knows just how to dress to compliment her body shape. But last night was a different story as she walked the red carpet in her outfit which did nothing to flatter her voluptuous shape.
Christina was joined by her husband Geoffrey Arend as they attended a special screening of All Star Superman. The actress voices the character of Lois Lane in the direct-to-video animated film based on the acclaimed comic book series.
James Denton, who plays Mike Delfino in the television series Desperate Housewives, takes on the role of Clark Kent. Co-incidentally Denton plays the on-screen husband of Teri Hatcher, who starred as Lane alongside Dean Cain in the ABC comedy-drama series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

If I’m really nit-picking (and I seem to be in the mood, right?), I don’t find the boob capelet offensive. Sure, it looks like a holiday sweater my mom would have picked out, but it’s not hideous. What is truly disturbing is the fit and design of these pants. Look at the detailing – it’s like there’s a built-in stomach panel, like with maternity pants. And look at the fit in the crotch! Ladies, would you ever buy a pair of pants that fit like this?

I am smaller curvy, but used to be her size. This is not an outfit to put on this body. The pants are hideous! Her hubby must be a tool, because mine would have been the first person to tell me that I looked fug and change into something else, and I’d be grateful he wouldn’t let me dress my body so badly.

It’s like she’s trying for vintage cutesy, like Zooey Deschanel. But Zooey Deschanel’s look only really works because she’s petite, sort of delicate, and extremely odd looking. Christina Hendricks just looks like an old lady. She needs to go more vavavoomvintage like she is on the show! That works for her and it’s what we love.
Oh Christina. Just stop it. You have an amazing bod, and it won’t last forever, for so goodness sake own it! Show it off whenever possible. That shirt does nothing for you, and nobody should wear capelets unless it’s for costume. And even then…

This “outfit” looks like it was put together at a Salvation Army Store or from someone’s closet-cleaning-out pile on the floor. She should go after the Marilyn Monroe look since that’s the way she’s built.
@ David This really kills me. Her husband looks like a tool? What would you like him to look like? Maybe she likes him because he has a personality. I see this all the time, and it really gets to me. We criticize people who do everything that is within their power to look “beautiful” and then we bash normal looking people for looking….gasp…..normal. Sheesh.
About her, I think she looks fine. Not a fan of the cape-let, but the outfit is fine. She gets criticized no matter what colour she wears, dunno why, and magazines seem to have no idea what to do with her at all. Like most redheads, she looks vey nice in bright blue-tones, like aqua, or else in something more “natural”, like warm earth tones. No pink, and besides blue, really no “cool” colours.
My boyfriend thinks she is the greatest thing on earth, and I think she is very beautiful. No idea whether she can act or not, don’t really watch TV much (no superiority here, I spend my time on the interwebs and video games), but she is very different than most of hollywood, and very curvy-beautiful.
This is the best she’s looked in a while. I like the outfit, although that bulge in the vadge area is quite ridiculous (unless she’s hiding something there)

I’m pale and have big boobs, so I know how hard it is to find clothes sometimes. That said, someone needs to dress her. She is too gorgeous to be wearing such heinous clothes
Her makeup is great, she looks gorgeous.
I think the overall effect of her outfit is cute. You are focusing on each component, and invidually, I agree with you, they don’t work. But all together, they flow.
The reality is with Christina’s curves, most designer clothes aren’t designed for her shape, I’m sure that she has to get a lot of clothes tailored. She is thin, only she has large breats and a large bum, which make her proportions more dramatic (no matter what she wears) – compare Christina to, say, Kate Middleton. Kate can probably wear anything, and never look slutty, while Christina has to dress with her figure in mind. That said, these pants are not great, but Christina’s stylist probably came over with only a few options, and they probably had to do last minute tailoring which did not solve all the problems of the fit.

I’ve seen a bunch of other celebs sporting the military coat trend, so I won’t judge as harshly as was done here, though that style didn’t work for her either.

No on the caplet. That’s a horrible look for anyone. No on the bunchy pants as well. She is a full figured type with a not so great body overall, so she must pick clothes carefully that drape yet are still appealing. Honestly, I’ve just never found her to be very attractive, especially not in most of the photos where she is spilling over. She looks over processed when she could try for a more natural look.
