I’m kind of in love with Carlos Leon, actor, personal trainer, and Madonna’s first baby-daddy. I find him handsome but not pretty, I like his lanky body, and the few times he speaks, he sounds interesting. Plus, I’ve seen him in a few Law & Order episodes, and he’s a decent actor. Whatever… I don’t have to justify myself to you!!! I think he’s hot. And his new interview in People Magazine has only made him hotter. He sounds really sweet here:
Their own relationship didn’t last, but Carlos Leon found the love of his life thanks to Madonna – their daughter Lourdes.
“I’m forever grateful to [Madonna],” Leon tells PEOPLE. “I have no regrets. I wouldn’t change anything. I got the best thing out of that relationship, and that’s my daughter. My daughter is everything to me.”
Like many smitten fathers, Leon, 44, admits he has a tough time being strict with Lourdes, now 14.
“I’m a lenient dad,” says the personal trainer and actor, whose new film Immigration Tango came out Friday. “I’m very empathetic, and I’m good at listening to my daughter … I’m probably a bad dad when it comes to disciplining her.”
One area where he tends to be overly compromising? Her curfew. “I try to work with her on it,” he says. “We settle on a time, say around 10 p.m., and she’s like, ‘How about 10:30?’ And it eventually becomes 10:15.”
Leon says Lourdes isn’t dating yet, but knows it’s coming. “I’m dreading it so much, because she’s my little girl. I want her to stay young forever,” he says. “I’m already overprotective, so when the time comes, I will be ready to have a talk with the guy she brings through the door. He better be ready, because I’ll give him the rundown!”
For now, he and his daughter bond by going on bike rides in New York City and hanging out at home, watching movies like Harry Potter and Twilight.
“She loves to watch Harry Potter. It’s a favorite of hers. We can watch that 100 times – well, she can,” Leon says. “Twilight is also pretty big at our house. She likes Robert Pattinson. She’s Team Edward all the way.”
Besides wizards and vampires, Lourdes loves fashion and is a budding fashionista. She even gives Dad a few pointers.
“Sometimes she will give me a hard time about my clothes,” Leon says. “I wore a pair of jeans once, and they weren’t as skinny as I usually wear them, and she was like, ‘Oh my God, Dad, those pants are ugly. Please change your pants.’ ”
He adds with a laugh: “They were too bootcut, so I changed.”

“Oh my God, Dad, those pants are ugly. Please change your pants.” Gosh, where on earth does she get that bossypants fashionista side? I wonder….? Ha, as we thought, Lola is totally the Mini-Madonna. Maybe Lola will even (gasp) exceed Madonna when her time comes.
But seriously, doesn’t Carlos sound like a sweet guy? I like that he doesn’t even really talk about Madonna – neither of them has ever said one bad word about each other, that I know of. I think Carlos gets to spend however much time he wants with Lola. They really have their stuff worked out, and Lola has benefited so much from having two mature parents (well, Madonna seems mature about this one issue), as well as a loving step-father in Guy Ritchie. God knows what Lola thinks about the latest young boyfriends, but whatever. She’s at the age where she’s too cool to hang out with mom anyway.

Any Dad willing to watch Twilight with his daughter is seriously the Best Dad Ever. My Dad watched Pretty In Pink with me once but that’s not even comparable. (LOL)
So adorable. As someone who grew up with a not-so-present dad (workaholic, he loved by providing, not by watching Harry Potter movies with me), my heart always smiles whenever I see a dad talking about his daughter like Carlos talks about Lourdes. He seems like a really solid, involved dad, and it’s very evident that he loves Lola.
..*sniff*….I’m sorry guys. I think I’ve got something in my eye.
SIDE NOTE: I wonder, too, what she thinks of the young boyfriends. I’d be fucking mortified. No question. First of all, GROSS, who wants to bang that sack of bones and filler (I hope those guys have a good salary), and second of all, I think I would date around my age simply for the sake of my kids. Especially if they’re younger. I imagine that would be quite traumatizing to start being attracted to boys, then have your mom bring home a glorified male prostitute who’s only 10 years older than you. I think a 10-15 year gap at Madonna’s age isn’t unreasonable at all if she is hell bent on dating younger. And you can’t argue that she vibes with these kids because, I’m sorry, but there’s no way Madonna has anything in common with Baby Jesus Luz and the breakdancer. That woman is not all there. Personally speaking, I think when you have kids, young kids, you should be very, VERY particular about who you’re involved with.
He seems like a nice guy. I read an interview with his girlfriend – she made him sound quite wonderful too 😀
Hey Twilight is a great opportunity to teach your daughter what not to do:
Don’t hang out with “dangerous” boys. It doesn’t end well.
Don’t let a boyfriend isolate you from your friends and family. It will get you a broken leg.
Don’t let your boyfriend convince you marriage at 18 is a good idea, even if he is wealthy beyond comprehension. It can lead to your death.
Don’t confuse stalking with attraction. It can lead to people showing up in your bedroom unannounced.

Carlos Leon seems to be a pretty involved dad- he’s been a pretty constant presence in Lourdes life (at least according to pap photos over the years). I give parents a lot of credit when they are able to put aside their own issues (Halle and Gabriel, giving you two the side eye here) and focus on what is the best thing for their kids. Just because your relationship ended doesn’t mean that this person isn’t still important in the life of your child.
it’s so nice to read about a guy with real dignity and a very sweet and genuine relationship with his daughter. you never see anything sleazy about him (i’m sure that’s part of the deal); and the only photos of him are when he’s with her.

I’ve always liked this guy. He lives a normal laidback life in New York, tooling around on his bicycle a lot. I really liked him the day I saw a photo a few years ago of him sitting at the park with Lourdes and Guy Richie and Rocco. The fact he got along with Madonna’s husband at the time showed a lot about both guys.
Carlos and Madonna have always had each other’s backs, and I’m sure she finds him one of the few people that came into her life not for fame and/or to get money out of her. Though, I’m sure she was generous with him when they broke up.
Beyond his bits of acting, I think he’s a pretty wellknown personal trainer in New York and opened a gym a few years ago.
Regarding Lola’s opinion of her mom’s male prosti-tots, I am sure she see’s her mothers motivations and intentions. I have a 16 year old niece and one day i casually made a sarcastic remark to her about the parents at A&F who are trying on clothes with their kids. She laughed and said that was her favorite thing about Abercrombie and how ridiculous old people look in teens clothes and that some people just need to accept their age. To us she is *MADONNA* to Lourdes she is her mother, a woman who adores ethnic looking young men on her arm no matter what her current age is.
If a parent hasn’t heard, “OMG you’re not for sure going to wear that??!!!” the child is still a toddler.

Why do the press call her ‘Lola’ when her parents only refer to her as Lourdes? I know the press speculated before she was born that she would be named Lola, but I never read that she was offical nicknamed Lola. Lourdes is such a beautiful name.
Actually, Madonna calls her Lola and has since she was little. That was how it was revealed what she went by when Madonna had her, instead of her birth name Lourdes. I have one of her interviews where she calls her Lola and such. Though, I’ve seen her call her Lourdes, too. The press calls her Lourdes, though, and Lola.

@KJ, I was 23 and dating an older man. I was mortified what his daughter must think of me. I wasn’t the first younger woman he had dated. She was 15. One day we were talking, and she said, I can’t imagine being older like you and grown up. I was shocked, but realized she saw me differently than I realized.

It’s great that Madonna and Carlos have cooperated in raising Lourdes to have two parents who love her very much. Parenting is the most important job an adult could ever have, and I cut people a lot of slack for other mistakes as long as they are loving and fit parents to the children they choose to raise. It’s beautiful to hear a man express gratitude to the woman who bore their child.
Carlos is attractive on many levels. Being a great dad is the deal maker for me!
