Charlie Sheen rants, Two and a Half Men canceled, Sheen rants again

wenn2265265

Charlie Sheen isn’t content to party with hookers who will inevitably sell him out now matter how much money he pays them. He has to trash his employers for asking him to be keep a lower profile in order to keep collecting a $2 million an episode paycheck. As you’ve likely heard by now, Charlie called in to a radio show yesterday and went on an epic rant. He claimed to be sober, but that was belied by the crap he was spewing, most of which was vile and made no sense. The Huffington Post has quite a bit of Charlies’ rant transcribed in case you find the random verbal diarrhea of an angry addict amusing or educational. (Drugs fry your brain, kids!)

In that rant, Charlie called Two and A Half Men creator Chuck Lorre a “turd.” He claimed he’d “embarrassed [Lorre] in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his un-evolved mind cannot process.” In case that wasn’t enough, Charlie went on to trash Lorre further in another comment to TMZ. He said:

I violently hate Chaim Levine (Chuck Lorre). [Ed note: Lorre’s real name is Charles Michael Levine.] He’s a stupid, stupid little man and a p**sy punk that I’d never want to be like. That’s me being polite. these guys told me to ‘clean it up.’ Well this is me cleaning it the f**k up.

All I want is to bring my family together, and I have to deal with all this B.S. politics.

That piece of s**t [Lorre] took money out of my pocket, my family’s pocket, and, most importantly, my second family — my crew’s pocket.”

You can tell him [Lorre] one thing. I own him.”

Lorre quickly showed Charlie that he was still pulling the strings. A statement by CBS and Warner Brothers was issued shortly afterwards that production on Two and a Half Men was shut down for the remainder of the season:

Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season.”

There’s no word on whether Two and a Half Men will come back for another season and I think it’s safe to assume that show is over. No one took money out of Charlie Sheen’s pockets but himself. He’s a mean spiteful addict and he needs help. It’s pretty baffling how he reached this level of success in the first place.

So of course Charlie wrote a letter in response to this news in which he feebly tried to appeal to fans while again trashing the man who made him wealthy beyond imagination.

What does this say about Haim Levine [Chuck Lorre] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows … I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can’t handle my power and can’t handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words — imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.

Remember these are my people … not yours…we will continue on together…

[From TMZ]

And Charlie told Radar that he’s going to get his own talkshow on HBO. He’s delusional and he probably just cost himself a role in the upcoming Major League sequel. I would say that at least we don’t have to deal with his drama anymore, but like Lindsay Lohan this cockroach will be around for years even when his career and the money have long dried up.

I’m bi-polar and this bitch makes me look stable!

  2. brin says:

Suicide by stupidity. Good bye, Charlie.

  3. The Truth Fairy says:

The guy is gone. With Charlie and Lohan, it’s hard to know … does prolonged and consistent drug use cause mental illness or were they already mentally ill and the drug use just highlights the symptoms? Either way it’s sad.

  4. Rita says:

Chuck Lorre should feign a surprise reconcilation party where Charlie is convinced to hide in a pinata instead of a cake.

  5. Quest says:

Charlie should just go lie in a pool of his own porn enriched semen and dry up before he hurt someone other than himself. His train has long missed it’s stop.

  6. Isa says:

Blindgossip has a blind item up right now about an actor who is bipolar and is facing apparent conservatory shop and 5150. All clues point to CS.

His family will intervene and hopefully he will get his life back on track.

  7. Cherry Rose says:

    But what about the hookers!?!

Finally, CBS isn’t catering to this asshole anymore. The show really wasn’t that funny, and when it was, it was because of the other actors in it, not Charlie Sheen.

Hope he’s got some money saved up, because I doubt anyone else will want to hire him now, all because it’s crystal clear on just what an asshole he is.

  8. kathy says:

Now he needs a straight jacket and a padded cell…I feel so bad for the other cast members…what an a–hole!!!

  9. santacruz says:

    What a Buffoon!!!!!

  10. Diane says:

Another delusional POS. Maybe he and Lindsay can get together.

  11. TrueCelebHater says:

Charlie is jst an arrogant prick.Cnt say i blame hm though. With d kind of mny he’s making he can afford to b an A-Hole.

  12. devilgirl says:

CBS and Lorre were AOK with him beating women, BUT, when Sheen turns on the brass, it is another story.

    Beat women=Pass
    Insult your boss=termination

Don’t get me wrong, it’s about time the show was put on ice, however I think it is a disgrace that no one cared about him beating women. That wasn’t an offense anyone was interested in punishing him for. Going off on Lorre was worse than beating a woman.

    Typical Hollywood.

  13. Diane says:

    Excellent point devilgirl!

  14. Maritza says:

They can probably just write him off by faking a death due to a drunken car accident and bring a son he never knew he had, just when the lawyer is going to read his last will and his brother thinks he will inherit everything. Maybe Zac Efron could play his son. Jon Cryer is the real star of that show anyway, they don’t need Charlie Sheen.

  15. Jackson says:

It’s about time CBS canceled his show. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you, fool. Maybe this POS will buy a private island somewhere and he and his hookers can roll around on coke-sand beaches…and we never have to hear from him again.

  16. TrueCelebHater says:

Lol@Rita.I luv reading ur comments.Vry witty.

  17. Eve says:

It really amazes me when somebody has more than any of us could ask for in a lifetime but still manages to ruin everything.

I’m only sorry for the other members from the cast but I guess they’ve already made money enough (and probably learned how to keep it) to not have to worry about finding work anymore.

  18. Shay says:

Personally, I’ll be glad to see the end of this show. In Australia, it has been run, re-run countless times over (each episode being shown more than ten times, because Australian networks are stingy, but that’s another story) and as far as I’m concerned, as a viewer, this show is made not by Charlie Sheen (mediocre actor), but his co-stars who are way funnier than him.
It’s a shame that they have to suffer, along with crew. Sheen is a degenerate and pervert who feels the need to share his perversions with the world. Going on holiday with your (equally degenerate) ex-wife and a porn star doesn’t make people want to watch you Sheen. It makes them want to hurl, not because they’re jealous or anything like that, but because you think that being a misogynistic narcissist is normal, something to be proud of. He is the equivalent of the office loafer. A seat warmer. A waste of space and a narcissist.
I’m tired of the sexual innuendos in this show, sick and tired of networks passing this show, a show that glorifies narcissists, as a family show. It may have been funny for the first three seasons, but it ran out of stories after that. And no, Charlie Sheen is not worth a million dollars per episode. Shit, all three Sheens aren’t worth that much per episode. Bunch of b-grade actors, the lot of them.

  19. Bee says:

I guess Chuck Lorre turned down Charlie’s invitation to a foursome with Charlie’s ex-wife and new girlfriend. But, in all seriousness Charlie’s a disgusting man and CBS did the right thing by pulling him off the air. Now that he won’t have the 1.2 million dollars per episode to help him pay for blow and hookers he might get some help.

  20. Mrs.Rut says:

    @devilgirl…EXACTLY what I was thinking!

  21. Rita says:

    One more thing:

Charlie shoots off his mouth and a hundred people loose their livelihood. Of course with all his spare time, the pornstars should do quite well.

  22. Lauren says:

I am a conservative person, but Charlie makes me LMAO. I think he snapped cause everyone is always acting like he is the only bad boy in Hollywood. He says things that we wish we could say. AA is a crock, I agree. My ex went to that for years, and he is drinking more than ever..I went to a couple of meetings- a lot of these folks are deplorable in many ways, not just their alcohol addiction…even if they stopped drinking, they are still a scary, hot mess. Most of them are compulsive devious devils, pretending to be remorseful. Addicts are always addicts, I have no time for them. Charlie will always be an addict, but at least he works! Charlie isn’t on welfare or disability living off of taxpayers..and he is so friggin funny. The dude wants to work to support all his exes & his gorgeous children..so let Charlie work!

  23. Poppy says:

The rumour doing the rounds now is that he does suffer from a bi-polar disorder. Another excuse or the truth? His actions certainly do fit the pattern of a manic/depressive off their meds. Who knows, either way he needs some serious help and should be confined for his own good. His parents probably have enough now to have him sectioned and take conservator ship of his estate until he shows he can function as a normal person (exactly what happened to Brittany Spears)

The real WTF moment came when he showed his anti-semitic side, that will probably be the real kiss of death for him in Hollywood, odd that Charlie seems to have forgotten that his own ‘real name’ is Carlos Estevez.

Frankly his studio is getting what they deserve, for not only ignoring his criminal activity but rewarding it with a multi million dollar pay check, they were the ones who bowed down to his outrageous demands in the new contract, when he was clearly in need of serious help, more concerned with their syndication millions than doing the right thing and now it’s blown up in their faces.

  24. dorothy says:

Used to love him….not anymore. Looks as if he’s gone the way of Lohan and Spears. I guess some people just start believing their own hype….

  25. TXCinderella says:

Wow! He seriously thinks that he is irreplaceable. What a frickin jerk. People in addictions can be such a-holes. It’s all about them.

  26. Hakura says:

    ITA with DevilGirl (12) & Eve (15).

Wow. Just.. Wow…If there was ever anyone who should’ve been forced to STFU….

He just committed career suicide. (I don’t think someone can be ‘insured’ for that, either. Especially when every cent of one’s paycheck went up their nose or into the…use…of a herd of prostitutes). Bravo, CS, Bravo.

  27. AngelMay says:

    Cocaine induced psychosis. For real.

  28. pebbles says:

I’ve said it before, but sadly, I will say it again.

    Countdown to Charlie Sheen’s implosion:
    T minus 10, 9, 8………

  29. Penguen says:

    Good point, devilgirl.

Has anyone else noticed the antisemitism here? Chuck Lorre’s birth name is Charles Levine, but I believe his Hebrew name is Chaim.

    What the hell, Hollywood?

  30. Isabel says:

Holy mother…this guy is going kamikaze.

This sucks. It really, truly sucks to see somebody so far up their own ass wearing the blinders of addiction that they think they’re gliding on rainbows. He’s the king of his crackhead kingdom.

Was he always this bad, and now he just has the spotlight and the microphone b/c of 2 and a half men? Or is he just hitting epic new levels?

Even if he is bi-polar…that stuff doesn’t just pop up one day when you’re middle-aged to say hello.

  31. logan says:

And to think that this drunken jacka** makes as much money as he does when our military, firefighters, police officers are making squat. He and most sports figures, entertainment figures are what is wrong with this country. Wake up folks. As long as we support their a$$es by buying tickets they will continue to act as they please. Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Tiger Woods, Lindsay Lohan are just a few who think they can get away with anythings. Give your money to those who deserve it.

  32. Isabel says:

And yes…@Penguen…it’s quite rampant. Thanks for highlighting it.

  33. Eve says:

…and as far as I’m concerned, as a viewer, this show is made not by Charlie Sheen (mediocre actor), but his co-stars who are way funnier than him.

    @ Shay:

Exactly. The show is made by the actors who play his brother (Jon Cryer), mother (Holland Taylor — my favorite) and his maid (Conchata Ferrell). Sheen’s character has never been funny, per se, what’s actually funny is what the other characters say about him.

  34. Penguen says:

@ Lauren – He’s not working. He’s not functioning now. Seeing that he just showed a massive display of intolerance to other cultures than his own (and that he obviously ate his Crazy Flakes today), I can’t see him getting much in the way of work after this.

I’ll never support a single endeavor of his again.

  35. Melanie says:

The phrase “Fire breathing fists” sounds tough, but what does it mean?

  36. KsGirl says:

It’ll actually be interesting to see what ultimately wins here – the almighty dollar or the almighty boss’s ego. Isn’t that show the most popular show on TV? It must bring in a lot of $$$ for the network – I’m pretty sure this is why they’ve tolerated Sheen’s BS for so long. I mean, c’mon, most people say that stuff about their boss and they get shitcanned, blacklisted etc. CBS (CBS?) hasn’t even completely pulled the plug here, they’re still hedging!

He (Sheen) sounds like someone who has completely lost it, tho. It’s sad, but I can’t really feel sorry for him because he’s just so objectionable.

And Devilgirl? Good point. Funnyn in a sad way. Smack your wife around? Oooh, well, nevermind. Insult the big man? Immediate consequences!

  37. Hakura says:

@Isabel“He’s the king of his crackhead kingdom.”

And once Lindsay Lohan realizes her career won’t survive her crack-schemes, & finally realizes her potential by becoming a porn star…

    She can become his queen.

  38. Marjalane says:

It’ll be interesting to see if another network offers this jackwipe another gig. I can’t believe CS had the balls to come back with that lame excuse apology to “his fans”. But then again, anyone sick enough to still be a fan, probably bought it.

  39. CB Rawks says:

He owes Chuck Lorre, not the other way around. If not for that godawful tv show, Charlie would have died penniless in a gutter seven years ago. (Or however many incredulous years it has lasted.)

  40. Roma says:

@Penguen: My thoughts exactly when I read that last night.

People with true mental illnesses often turn to drugs to self medicate. I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlie was bipolar – not at all. One of the most successful lawyers I have ever met was bipolar and had a raging coke addiction. He was fine and professional for years but used to pull these types of rants at social gatherings.

Then one day he lost a big patent case and went apeshit towards the judge.

Rehab, moved cities, went on meds and has been clean for a few years. But still… Charlie more and more is reminding me of him.

  41. Gal says:

I agree that Jon Cryer and the other actors are the stars of this show. Charlie is not acting, he’s just playing himself. That storyline on the show gets old. I feel bad that the other actors and crew will lose because of his stupidity. But it’s time for him to go. They could certainly keep the show without him. Lots of shows write out characters.

  42. knitter says:

@Penguen: Good point about the antisemitism. I, too, am a bit surprised that commenters aren’t making a bigger deal about it. I found that the most striking thing about Charlie’s comments.

  43. Isabel says:

@Hakura – how soon before he moves her in as a member of his porn family?!

  44. Hakura says:

@Isabel“@Hakura – how soon before he moves her in as a member of his porn family?!”

My guess would be in about a year, after she gets out of prison. God knows she’ll be ‘ripe for the picking’ after that experience.

Unless of course his ‘crack kingdom’ happens to be somewhere without an ‘extradition’ agreement with the United States, then I’d give it about 2 weeks.

  45. DD says:

@knitter – I think people aren’t making a bigger deal about it because he didn’t actually come out and say anything anti-semitic. He repeated the producer’s real name several times. I didn’t even realize it was a Jewish name, till I was reading some blogs about it. Although now that I know it is, I do see a subtle dig by his emphasis on the man’s real name over and over.

  46. Racheal says:

@ Rita: I LOVE the pinata idea! I’m pinching it and want to do that to my ex.
The first movie I saw him in was Ferris Beuller’s Day Off. Remember his character? I’m not convinced he was acting. He probably just wandered onto the set and John Hughes kept the footage.

  47. sickofit says:

with that heavy drinkin and cocain use id go bi-polar in a second too.
but looney charlie is just an a**hole at that point. this bi-polar thing always being used as a lame excuse for an actors erratic behavior is unfair to all the real sick people who struggle serious with it…

  48. Rita says:

    @Racheal

I don’t remember Charlie in Beuller’s Day Off. Was he a background student?

  49. spinner says:

Charlie is not worried about money. His Father is Martin Sheen. No money worries there. He is now a psycho-path due to excessive drug use. This is what I think happened to Brit Spears as well. Bi-polar my arse. These people have fried their brains & it is passed off as mental illness.

  50. OXA says:

Can they use his rants to force him into a mental facility and conservatorship?
i an thinking that a lobotomy is the only thing that would help him now.
If he were a dog, he would be put to sleep for attacking the hands that feed and provide for him.

  51. CB Rawks says:

    @Rita
Charlie was in the Police Station, and he made out with Jeannie Beuller. It was the best role he ever had, very funny.
“You wear too much eye makeup. My sister wears too much. People think she’s a whore.”

  52. L says:

@Rita He’s the guy Feris’ sister Jennifer Grey made out with at the police station.

  53. Racheal says:

@ Rita: He’s the drug addict in the cop shop who makes out (in the cop shop no less!) with Ferris’ sister.

  54. SassyOne says:

Dude seriously needs some antipsychotice and benzos.

In an inpatient setting. Imploding in 3,2,1…

    Seriously.

  55. Racheal says:

@ Rawks: Oops! I didn’t see your response. Love the quote! It was his best role. He was very natural.

  56. garvels says:

    Delusional Douche!

  57. Rita says:

    @Rachael @Rawks

I think I remember now. I’ll look for him in the next rerun. Thanks.

  58. Crash2GO2 says:

I think that when someone is psychotic for whatever reason, their paranoia appears in the guise of anti-‘younameit’. In Charlie’s case, his perceived nemesis is Jewish, so he’s going to hone in on that. The guy is freakin’ nutburgers plain and simple. I don’t think it means CS is a racist necessarily – you know? Just my take.

This was inevitable, and I’m glad it finally happened. And yeah, he had to hit the guy holding the strings to make it happen. It just wasn’t enough to beat up wives and hookers, ’cause you know – they are second class citizens and probably deserved it anyway…

  59. spinner says:

Realtalkinboutdat is spot-on. Are you Helen Thomas??

  60. Lauren says:

Charlie is talented, but an addict. This is the way addicts behave, usually worse. Their brain chemistry has no functioning state of reason…somehow he still makes me laugh. These women having children with him are what disgust me..they know he has serious emotional/addiction problems, but still procreate with him! Then sue Charlie for tons of money for child support…I feel sorry for the children. Charlie should be neutered, since he is incapable of being a father to any of his children.

  61. mln76 says:

    ITA w/ devilgirl.

  62. lilred says:

@ Rita: Bet people would be lined up to take a crack…er hit at that pinata.

  63. Hautie says:

Didn’t I read that his financial adviser/lawyer is the one freaking out the most. That Charlie had blew threw a few million in the last 30 days. And the adviser went to CBS and Warner Bro.’s, freaking the hell out.

Charlie really has gone off the rails. And it is time for the parents and lawyer get him admitted.

He is going to end up OD’ing. Or killing someone cause he is too high to make solid decisions.

  64. Jan says:

No one should be surprised. The man has entitlement issues, which comes from receiving two million an episode, not to mention the checks from re-runs. What ever he has not pissed away on drugs, booze and porn stars will probably last him until he drops dead from all the drugs.

  65. GeekChic says:

@logan, you’re completely correct. People working to cure cancer are stuck in some basement university laboratory making little to no money, but jackasses like Sheen, Lohan, Ben Roethlisberger, and Micheal Vick have made millions. What is wrong with our world that we support people like this but our teachers and firefighters make 30k per year? It boggles the mind, truly.

As for this rant, well it is not the product of a sane mind, that’s all I can say. Dude totally went off the deep end. A lot of people are hypothesizing that it is cocaine-induced psychosis, and that sounds about right. Yikes.

  66. Rita says:

    @Crash2go2

IMO, that is a perfect diagnosis. Probably much the same as Mel but when it hits the public, it sounds terrible.

  67. CB Rawks says:

    @Racheal
    heheh I agree. 🙂

  68. happygirl says:

Charlie Sheen pinata. Best. Idea. Ever. 🙂

  69. guesty says:

@devilgirl…ita. lol @ cs in ferris bueller…hahaha…i’d forgotten about that!

  70. garvels says:

@GeekChic-I couldn’t agree with you more!!

  71. journey says:

agree that charlie’s really just been playing himself on 2 and 1/2, probably to the detriment of his mental health. playing the role of an unrepentant drug, booze and pussy hound who always winds up on top as the alpha-dog, probably made it very hard for him to get with any rehab program. it would be the equivalent of paying lohan two million an episode to play a shoplifting crackhead who always comes out on top.

if 2 and 1/2 goes forward, make the fictional charlie hit rock bottom, make fictional charlie get clean and sober. make the fictional charlie go through rehab and stick with it. with good writing it could breathe new life into an old show.

  72. spinner says:

    realtalkinboutdat…

I was so hoping you were Helen. I love her. She is a brave soul in a world turned upside down.

  73. Hollowdoll says:

I agree with devilgirl as well. The whole thing is disgusting.

  74. curmudgeon says:

    @Penguin and Knitter
I am seeing the crazy but not the anti semetism. Just because the guy he is attacking is Jewish doesn’t make his comments anti semetic. Most of Hollywood is Jewish.

  75. someone says:

I find it very sad that so many people have to suffer because CS is an asshole, and can’t see reality..only his delusional life. I hope the show can carry on without Charlie…hes almost at rock bottom and will soon self destruct!

  76. Welldun says:

    ITA w/devilgirl

I have a question though, why would Chuck Lorre have changed his last name?

  77. Jaye E says:

    This “man” is despicable. Gross.

  78. Praise St. Angie! says:

I hope this leads to permanent cancellation. I HATE that show. not only because of Sheen, simply because IT’S NOT FUNNY.

the “recently divorced guy moves in with perpetual bachelor brother” shtick got old after one season.

and sheen is a pig. I feel bad for the rest of the cast and crew, but my disgust for Sheen outweighs that.

  79. Wendy City says:

He is not bi-polar. He is a crackhead! That is what crackheads do. That is how crackheads behave. He has delusions of grandeur. He is a racist (called Denise Richards a n!gg@r). Made racist comments about Chuck Lorre. It is irrelevant why he changed his name, when his real name is Carlos Estevez. I can proudly say that I have never watched his show. I refuse to support anything that he is on. He will end up in a pile of his own vomit.

  80. mln76 says:

I don’t feel bad for anyone associated with the show. They work in show buisiness they are lucky that they’ve been on one show this long. And if they were crew members etc they have had plenty of warning that things were going south and time to find another freaking job. I understand that the actors were under contract and couldn’t just walk out but I am curious about just when they resigned and what state Charlie was in at that time. The network and cast was greedy and this is how they are getting repaid for their greed.

  81. mrsezc says:

Ummm .. did anyone watch the show because of him???? I was shocked to hear he got a show, but I guess that’s Hollywood!! Lets’ give the talentless drug addicts a show and when they fall from grace (as they usually do) we can use the press to boost ratings!!
This show should’ve been pulled years ago, I think Chuck Lorre was squeezing money out of this and now because Charlie’s crap has hit the fan he needs to back track!!
Charlie is a talentless little turd who needs to grow the f-up and take care of the children he’s made!! He is not bi-polar this seems to be the disease du-jour (sp)of these drug addict losers!!
I for one am happy this show is off the air but I feel for the people who counted on it for the paycheck!!
The next headline I’d like to see for him is one where the prostitutes and ex wives have gotten their revenge on him!!!

  82. CallieTrichid says:

How much crack do you suppose he ingested to get to this point? Like, are we talking that scene in Scarface? Boggles the mind.

  83. Liana says:

“That piece of s**t [Lorre] took money out of my pocket, my family’s pocket, and, most importantly, my second family — my crew’s pocket.”

    **********

No, asshole, YOU did that. And now you cost a bunch of people, some of them my friends, their jobs. The crew didn’t make what you make. YOU took away their livelihood for the time being. And Charlie, they weren’t your family… they couldn’t STAND you and your crap attitude and behavior.

  84. Dorothy says:

It’s such a shame that this ‘gentleman’ bites the hand that has fed him and his family with a large paycheck no doubt. It’s also a shame how the powers that be attempted to ‘cover up’ this mans shenanigans with denials aka damage control. Now these same folks are witnessing the wrath of this person whom they wanted to protect so badly. “The things we learn to accept will be some of the things we learn to regret.”

  85. Yael says:

I’m so tired of his SHEEN-NANIGANS!!!

  86. Faye says:

This whole thing is…out of control ridiculous. The blind eye to the abuse to women, as DevilGirl pointed out, the anti-semitism, and his ludicrous diatribe. Fire breathing fists? What the hell? This situation is so very close to being hilarious, but it’s really just a big WTF. He seriously needs help but obviously won’t get it unless he’s 5150ed because he thinks his behavior isn’t just acceptable but beyond reproach.

  87. icantbelievethis says:

I’ve never watched the show, but if they kicked CS off I would start watching. I think Jon Cryer is funny, but I’ve refused to watch an abuser make $1M+ per episode.

  88. Liana says:

And if they were crew members etc they have had plenty of warning that things were going south and time to find another freaking job.
    *********

It doesn’t really work that way. There are contracts and unions involved.

While I can’t speak as to CS, I do truly believe Britney Spears’ erratic sudden bursts of behavior were caused by being bipolar. I’m definitely not an expert, but it looked *very much* like what’s described as ‘mania’.

I agree with Crash2GO2‘s analysis, as to what may have caused Charlie’s ranting… As well as the guess that he’s paranoid, at this point. It really does remind me of Mel Gibson’s crash-n-burn… even complete with violent behavior, domestic abuse… horribly racist/anti-semitic/misogynistic statements.

It always appeared to me that Charlie was simply playing himself over & over. I can’t act to save my ass, but I was never particularly impressed with him.

Funny Sheen family with their made up show name would make fun of someone else’s.

Sad. After all he did, calling boss a worm was the last straw? Women, children, and animals are last in the upside down world of entertainment. And the upside down world of the rest of the world too.

But for someone newly sober, there isn’t anything better. So I’m sorry that you wouldn’t have anything to do with me IRL because I’m a devious deplorable addict, but with that attitude it would probably be mutual.

It’s not just that Lorre is Jewish, per se. It’s that Charlie is calling him all these names and also deliberately using his Hebrew name, when it’s not necessary and probably is confusing to people.

A Hebrew name is a religious thing, and it’s important in the Jewish community. When I was in synagogue and in Hebrew school, people would often call me by mine. Though some Jewish people actually go by their Hebrew names, a lot of us do not, though it’s something with which we identify (can’t speak for all Jewish people).

But generally speaking, the name gives us a sense of Jewish identity.

So Charlie Sheen is essentially calling out Chuck Lorre, insulting him, and using his name that evokes his Jewish identity in the same breath. There’s an association there that cannot be ignored.

I’m guessing Charlie doesn’t speak Hebrew. There’s no reason to be using the name Chaim unless Lorre asked him to, which I doubt. Instead, it’s a subtle dig, but a dig nonetheless.

    Hope that helped.

Hell, the Mormons were run out of Missouri because they were a closed bussiness society.

Anyway, I don’t see calling a particular individual by his Hebrew name as antisimetic. I see it more as an individual slap. Can you give me a short response to your offense to a man being called by his Hebrew name and how that translates into antisemitism in general?

When our local Catholic school plays basketball against the city school, the locals throw fish onto the court and the Catholics throw hotdogs but no one is really offended.

Your ex/spouse/whatever may not have had success in AA, but that doesn’t mean it’s a crock. Don’t talk shit about it.

AA is a wonderful community and a wonderful system that allows people to be accountable to themselves, for themselves.

I think the now thousands and thousands of people who have gone through 12-step recover programs would take offense at your cavalier disregard for the program.

And if your boyfriend didn’t get sober at AA, it’s not the program’s fault. The main tenets of AA are that we are responsible for our own actions. If someone doesn’t want to get sober, they’re not getting sober. Obviously your fella continued to place the onus of his recovery on some “magic” pill or program, that would do the work for him. And sadly you seem to have accepted this argument as true. AA didn’t work for him because he didn’t do the work. Point blank.

(BTW, my dad was a raging alcoholic for thirty years. AA was the only thing that saved his life and he still goes to 7am meetings every day, except Sunday when he goes to church.)

someone above wondered why Chuck Lorre changed his name. Why did Carlos Estevez change his? It’s very common in show business for people to change their names. Jon Stewart, for example, uses his first and middle names. Natalie Portman changed her last name (she claims it was to protect her family’s privacy, but she trots them out to every awards show). Winona Ryder’s name is really Winona Horowitz. Jane Seymore is actually Joyce Frankenberg. Michael Keyton’s real name is Michael Douglas (there was already a Michael Douglas in the Union). So, Chuck Lorre didn’t do anything shady or unusual.

  128. Jaquebelle says:

AA is like any sobriety program in that if you are as successful as the effort you put into it. If your loved one failed to maintain sobriety, there were probably other factors involved which led to this. To paint AA w/ such a negative brushstroke is unfair and inaccurate. It works if YOU work it!!!

Charlie Sheen is in denial. Until he admits his problem(s), no rehab or program in the world will help him. He needs the humility to acknowledge his addictions, because you can’t change what you refuse to acknowledge.

It is great that the studio heads finally took a stand, although I suspect they represented one of Sheen’s many enablers.

In addiction, like many things in life, there is always hope for recovery. But you have to admit a problem and change people, places, and things. Sheen is an addict and there are only three possible outcomes for this: sobriety, jail, or death. Let us pray for the first one, as well as pray for those impacted by addiction. One love.

You and me, both! I am a bipolar and would never be suspected of having a mental illness, because I am a productive, law-abiding, member of society. I take my meds, see my therapist and psychiatrist, and stay out of trouble.

I think a lot of the negativity and stigma regarding bipolar arises from ignorance;plus, it doesn’t help that TV shows invariably portray bipolars as knife-wielding maniacs. It doesn’t bother me as much as it once did;I just try to ignore it.

  139. Poppy says:

Re Charlie using Lorre’s Hebrew name.

Charlie repeated it over and over during his rant, specifically saying that his boss’s real name was not Chuck Lorre but Chaim Levine, the implication being that Lorre was trying to disguise his Jewish identity for some reason. Also the implication is that Charlie has a problem with Chuck’s change of name, (which is pretty bizarre as he changed his own given name Carlos Estevez, to distance himself from his own Hispanic roots in the publics eye).

Charlie was specifically making sure that the radio audience knew Chuck was Jewish as if it was somehow part of the explanation why Charlie hates him.

  142. Hmmm says:

    @adtwah & originalkate,

I cosign everything you said! I have a good friend who is bipolar in a big way, and no matter what, she has remained a good and caring person. Charlie is merely debauched and morally corrupt, his brain fried by drugs. It always pisses me off when this kind of behaviour is attributed to bipolar. Charlie is a crackhead. It came first.

  143. Hmmm says:

    @Rita,

“phobes”. Ye gods! Figures. (And BTW, you address @spinner whose hubs and family is Jewish (second hand opinion and POV) but not my post, where I state straight out that I am Jewish. What gives?)

You may be ‘educated’ and have travelled through 60 countries but it doesn’t mean you or @spinner and her hubs and family recognise anti-Semitism when it’s right there under your respective noses. And there is no Jewish ‘race’, only the Jewish people. I betya @spinner’s hubs didn’t know that either.

Hey, come to any High Holy Day service in North America, where there’s invariably (in my experience) prominent and undercover security, sometimes armed. Yeah, we’re all so ‘phobic’.

  144. Liana says:

Bottom line is that Charlie Sheen is an unapologetic narcissistic douchbag of epic proportions. CBS enabled him and enabled him, skewing their budget in favor of this unrepentant imbecile and at the expense of other more talented actors and other better written shows until he bit the hand that feeds him. That’s how H-wood works. Be an asshole, but until it effects production, until it cuts into the bottom line, it’s all good.

  145. Rita says:

    @Hmmm

Thanks for your post. I didn’t referrence you because I didn’t read your post. No insult intended. As I’ve stated, I don’t understand anti-jew-people-race-Hebrew-semitism or any of that and was looking for clarification.

The real problem with phobes is that they make the other side more sympathic to their opposition. If I am seeking simple clarification and someone jumps in my face screaming about their persecution, you can bet your ass that I will be the next one doing the persecuting.

Phobes are their own worst enemy and more detrimental to their cause than their opposition could ever be and that goes for civil rights, religious rights, gay rights, feminists, and all the other causes. If people want reasonable people to hear their voice, then they must speak reasonably. Otherwise, reasonable people will simply walk away, cautious of the people who get in their face.

  146. David Hurd says:

What is wrong with you people?

I am guessing not! Passing judgement on someone you DONT know is not only stupid its unconstitutional.

There is no way you can see his day to day life… Or see how this altercation came about. There is no way to see the two sides of this because nobody is that close.

Dont get me wrong I am not condemning or condoning I am saying that no one can pass judgment without knowing all the facts and the only people who know all the facts are Lorre and Sheen!

If your gonna blame someone for canceling the show blame lorre as I see it from the facts that were given Sheen had said he was going to go to work anyway.

One thing I do know is that everyone complains…

Its hard to choose. But I don’t feel sorry for Charlie Sheen – I just feel sad because my late father was an addict and I know what it is like to watch the ship go down. 150. Kim says:

    Liana – Agreed!

Charlie is a full blown drug & alcohol addict who Two and a Half Men employed to long and paid WAYYY to much. They enabled him somewhat.

How does Charlie justify being hung over and his coke & hooker fueled antics to his teenage co worker (kid who plays his nephew)? I wouldnt let my young, impressionable son near Charlie Sheen in a work environment or any environment.

Charlies addictions are what cost the show. Charlie addictions and him not getting PROPER (not in his house) help/treatment is the one who took away the crew & co workers job. The fact that he tries to blame someone else is what an addict does.

Charlie is on a suicide mission. He doesnt want to get clean and is pissed someone was forcing him to.

I feel so bad for his family and kids.

  151. jemshoes says:

I found Two and a Half Men watchable only in the first season, and that was because the story lines were still halfway decent, and the “characters” on the show were still being revealed / developed. And after the second season, Chuck Lorre might as well have renamed the show, The Charlie Sheen Half Hour. It stopped being funny a long time ago, and I agree with Shay’s post (#18) – here in Perth, we get the same episodes screened over and over again. Tedious, unfunny and a waste of prime-time TV space.

  152. echolocate says:

devilgirl, I thought the same thing when I read David’s post, but then I read it again and I think he’s a paid flack or friend (maybe a lawyer, purposely using “unconstitutional” incorrectly, because that’s what Internet dummies might do, in his view). One clue is that the first spelling of judgment is “judgement,” while the second is the way it’s really spelled.

Just a thought. I’ve noticed all of Sheen’s real fan defenders are of two types: sappy women/hooker hopefuls who tell him to get well soon, and young guys or teens who say they’d be doing hookers and blow all day if they had Charlie’s money.

There are so many people paid to surf around and post positive things that aren’t delusional enough for us to call them delusional and aren’t trollish enough for us to call them trolls. Paid help, and different from rabid (but real) fans of extremely popular stars.

  153. Rita says:

    @David

Posting in Charlie’s defense is fine with me. The ladies on this site are not amateurs so post away. I would appreciate it if you would specify which constitutional amendment is violated when we make judgements about Charlie. (I think judgement can be properly spelled with or without the “e”).

Also, much like any other group of people, there are different facets of Judaism. So stop vilifying @spinner for not being Jewish enough or whatever. Maybe her husband and in-laws aren’t offended by certain things. Geez.

As far as Charlie Sheen, I’m sure he doesn’t really care about any of this crap. He’s got boatloads of money, coke, and all the hookers he can bang. He may not be a bastion of righteousness, but I prefer him to the Lohan. At least he was working and hasn’t stolen anything. BTW – there are LOTS of people, in Hollywood and not, who are abusers, drunk, drug addicts and mentally ill. If their boss tried to tell them how to live their lives, they’d probably tell him to eff off too. He showed up to work and did what he was paid to do. What he does after that, however wrong, is none of their business. The women date him, Hollywood employs him, and people watch him. Who exactly was gonna kill the Golden Goose?!

I wish people would not besmirch those like you (a cellist) by giving him a label other than what we know:

Pampered Hollywood druggie who has been getting a pass since he was a baby for bad behavior. Epic douche. Batterer. Drug abuser. Lifelong John. Criminal. Ho. Person who used his dad’s fake name to get ahead. That’s all that’s known so quit giving him excuses without any evidence, let alone ones associated with high intelligence and creativity, and some fellow posters above.

  159. Liana says:

Charlie Sheen is more than likely NOT bipolar. But since “asshole” is not a mental illness, people will grasp for what they can in order to somehow excuse some of his behavior.

“If their boss tried to tell them how to live their lives, they’d probably tell him to eff off too. He showed up to work and did what he was paid to do. What he does after that, however wrong, is none of their business.”

    ***********

Actually, it IS. There is a morals clause in Charlie Sheen’s contract. His “personal life” behavior was harming production (and there’s a a lot more than him “showing up and getting the job done” that will probably come out down the line – the production delays because primacharlie wasn’t quite ready with his lines, the number of females who quietly exited the crew due to being “uncomfortable” with Mr. Sheen’s “attitude,” taping delays, etc.) When the personal life of an actor with a morals clause in his contract interferes with the production or integrity of the production, it becomes the business of the network and/or production company. Good time Charlie has become a liability.

I’ve always known that there are Jews in many races like Sammy Davis but I thought Halle Berry’s “one drop” theory may have been in play so, my bad.

Therefore, a slur against a Jew is not a racist remark; it’s religious intolerance. Now I’m convinced that Charlie is not an antisemite because I’m sure he knows very little about religion..especially Judaism.

Other than the killing of Jesus by greedy and selfish men, which by the way was God’s plan and led to the salvation of all mankind, I don’t understand the beef with Judaism.

I’m just not very good at this religious intolerance thing so….OMG there’s something you don’t see every day!!! There’s a Presbyterian in my back yard. How did he get out? They’re suppose to be on a leash. The city is pretty strict about that sort of thing. Someone will have to pay a fine to get him out of holding.

  161. mln76 says:

I stand by my original comment. As early as Christmas 2010 the cast & crew had knowledge that Charlie was heading for a serious meltdown Remember the whole Brooke Mueller domestic violence arrest? Everyone involved with the show had enough time to get out of the sinking ship. Just like Charlie Sheen renewed his contract during this time so did every other person on that cast (the kid is exempted from responsibility of course). They stayed because of greed and now they are getting repaid for their greed.

  162. mln76 says:

    sorry Christmas 2009

  163. Liana says:

They renewed their contracts so as to have a JOB. Jobs in Hollywood aren’t any easier to come by than jobs anywhere else, in fact, they are more difficult to come by. And, for the record, not everyone’s contract comes up at the same time.

And please, your garden variety gaffer isn’t getting rich off a network sitcom. There’s no “greed” involved with an electrician remaining with a production. It’s called hoping to hang on to your job long enough to pay your mortgage.

  165. Quercus says:

I don’t know what the “ph” on his t-shirt is supposed to stand for, but all I could think was Television Without Pity’s “Permanent Hiatus” category. Sadly appropriate.

I genuinely feel sorry for all the people he’s hurt, family, girlfriends, his children, the people who work on the show and are now out of work. It’s depressing the damage one person can do.

  166. sion says:

This guy got paid millions to play himself, and he did bad a job at it. He is a lousy actor and waste of space on this planet.

  167. mln76 says:

@Liana I was referring to the greed of the actors not the crew. But I still believe the crew had enough time to get out of that situation also.

  168. Liana says:

@mln: the crew couldn’t “get out of” the situation. Jobs are near impossible, especially at this point in the season. You don’t “expect” cancellation of a top ten series, regardless of the behavior of the lead. CBS was flat out to blame for not having a contingency plan. I know for a fact that some crew members were actively seeking other assignments for the following season.

  169. mln76 says:

@Liana I am sorry for your friends but that doesn’t change the fact that Sheen has been in serious trouble since Christmas 2009 when he was arrested in Colorado for domestic violence against his wife. There were questions at that point about whether or not he’d get jail time or whether or not he’d renew. So they had a year to look for work and get out of any contractual obligations.

  170. Liana says:

Whatever. It’s easy to play Monday Morning Quarterback. I’m not going to argue this point with you. Suffice it to say that I know how this industry works, having worked in production for over 12 years now and having a father who has been in the industry for well over 30 years.

Most of the crew will get other jobs, but unfortunately, it won’t be until the next production season starts.

  171. Hakura says:

@Penguen“It’s not just that Lorre is Jewish, per se. It’s that Charlie is calling him all these names and also deliberately using his Hebrew name, when it’s not necessary and probably is confusing to people.”

Something my mom said, after reading the transcribed rant… was “Well, maybe that’s the name he (Chuck) uses with personal acquaintances? (Like an author’s pen name, or actor’s stage name). Since they’ve been working together for so long, it doesn’t sound too strange that CS would refer to him by the name he’s used to using, instead of the stage name.

But I could be *completely* wrong. God knows I’m not defending this moron.

  172. David Hurd says:

As I suspected passing judgment without any proof you read and hear what you want to and thats evident in the posts that were said about me… Let me refresh

146 : QUOTE:”Dont get me wrong I am not condemning or condoning I am saying that no one can pass judgment without knowing all the facts and the only people who know all the facts are Lorre and Sheen!”

I never said I was sticking up for the guy nor did I say that I wasn’t… My point was I don’t know him… I have heard stories and comments but passing judgment on someone WITHOUT first hand knowledge is ignorant. The only person here who maybe eligible to comment would be Liana…

155 : QUOTE : *raises hand* I know MANY of the crew on “Two and a Half Men” AND I worked on the set for a couple days as a fill in.

    First hand knowledge!!!

And even then no one KNOWS all the facts!

  173. Hakura says:

And… as to the thing with the crew ‘having time to look for other jobs because they knew Charlie was in trouble’ thing… Just my 2 cents (& I’m NO expert):

As a member of the crew, it certainly wouldn’t have been my first assumption that the entire season would be shut down, mid-production, just because one of the leads goes AWOL. While I’m sure they were aware of the possibility, I highly doubt they saw this sort of sudden ‘end’ to their jobs coming, until it was too late.

Now they’re being left hanging, not knowing if their jobs are supposed to continue at all, next season. I really do feel for these people… Some dick-wad’s actions in his personal life have left tons of people SOL all the sudden.

The entertainment industry’s careers are normally fleeting (which also includes those of the crew)… but it’s still not right or fair that they’ve been put in this position.

  174. Liana says:

Thanks Hakura. That’s what I was trying to say. Most shows have contingencies. I know that “Criminal Minds” jumped into overdrive with their contingency plan when Mandy Patinkin jumped ship sooner than expected. We lost, I think, two days work, if I remember correctly, and got it back at the end of the season. And that was an hourlong procedural. A sitcom with a loose cannon lead should have been ready to finish out the season without Sheen. I know that’s what most of the crew expected to happen; if Sheen went apeshit, there was a plan to complete the season without him. Apparently, there wasn’t.

Gah, I am She Who Must Be Moderated this morning.

  175. eja102 says:

    well.

judgement is most definitely spelled with the “e”.

I find that beginning an opinion with “what is wrong with you people?” generally means the opinion is of very little value.

  176. CB Rawks says:

No it isn’t. Judgment is the correct spelling. May look weird, but there ya go. 🙂

  177. eja102 says:

“In Great Britain and many of its former colonies, “judgement” is still the correct spelling”

there we go! I guess in Canada we add the “e” like we add the “u” to honour, and spell cheque like.. cheque.

I apologize for assuming it was only spelled with the “e”.

  178. Crash2GO2 says:

“Passing judgement on someone you DONT know is not only stupid its unconstitutional.”

    ROTFLMAO…..Now THAT was stupid.

  179. Hakura says:

@Liana” I know that “Criminal Minds” jumped into overdrive with their contingency plan when Mandy Patinkin jumped ship sooner than expected. We lost, I think, two days work, if I remember correctly, and got it back at the end of the season.”

I know you’ve probably stated this before (If so, I apologize!) but if you don’t mind my asking, what sort of job do you have? It sounds really awesome to have first hand knowledge of the way such a business works. My mom is a rabid Criminal Minds fan, so I just had to ask. =)

I really do hope there’s a plan in place in this case, I can’t imagine having the rug completely pulled out from under me the way this crew has.

  180. Hakura says:

@David Hurd“First hand knowledge!!! And even then no one KNOWS all the facts!”

In that line of thinking, no one should *ever* talk about anything they aren’t personally party to, EVER. (Half the time, no one knows all the facts, even if they ARE party to something directly.) Which is just ridiculous.

Celebrities make their living being in the public eye… most take full advantage of their personal lives this for their career’s benefit (such as dating someone while promoting a new movie/album), purely for attention it receives, & the public’s reaction.

But for a few exceptions (such as crossing the line & attacking/being nasty about someone’s children), they’re putting themselves out there, & have to reap what they sow.

  181. Margo says:

There is a condition called dellerium that many people who abuse alcohol and drugs experience. It occurs when the drug is removed abruptly. That is why they like to do an inpatient detox. It can be life threatening and needs to be treated medically. It can cause some pretty crazy behavior. Pray for Charle.

  182. Liana says:

    @Hakura: I’m a production and director’s assistant. Basically, a go-fer. LOL.

  183. Hakura says:

@Liana – That’s so awesome! I know it probably sounds way more exciting than it is, but it’s so cool to hear from someone directly involved in the business, who’s spent time on sets with some of the people who come up in conversation here. =)

(I’m sorry, I just realized I asked you this question twice in different stories! I completely forgot that I’d asked you already.)

  184. David says:

He’s a bit pissed off at how other people (CBS) made a decision and blames Charlie for the decision. CBS pulled the plug on the money machine, they should own up and take responsibility. Pure and simple.

Blaming Charlie is wrong very wrong. He shows up for work on time and ready to work. CBS are idiots unplugging the money machine and blaming Charlie.

I think Charlie has a point, his personal life’s choices are not in breach of his contract but CBS is in beach of theirs and should pay Charlie for his damages which are immediate and apparent to his image.

CBS would have fared better to keep quiet and salvage the rest of the season and talk to Charlie discretely. Any organization that goes public about their employees should be sued to their underwear.

They are not owning the decision just a bunch of cry-baby weasels. Bad on you CBS. I hope you loose everything you made on 2 1/2 men. Charlie made that show and made it entertaining, funny and
#1 show on CBS. Are these guys idiots or what? What’s in their heads? Make the shows, make the money and shut up CBS. Charlie’s the star. Biting the hand that feeds you is a shameful and disgusting show of betrayal by CBS to a person whom made billions (2.5) to be exact. A little loyalty, discretion and respect goes along way.

Bad move by CBS and I hope and pray Charlie wins his law suit and sues you into the stone age.

  185. Jan says:

If Charlie Sheen thinks any of the “ugly people” will still support him, I suggest watching a copy of “A Face in the Crowd” with Andy Griffith. If they want to continue the show, since he’s not really acting anyway, they could write his absences in as “he’s in rehab”, “Uncle Charlie’s went to an ashram”, “he’s hitchhiking across the universe” They could keep the title, because Jake is now so big and Charlie would be lucky to be considered half a man.

  186. Julia says:

    Well, Charlie..yes,,not God…
looks like you are more interested in “being right”..by manipulation..as well as “screwing the system”
Morality.. Do you have ANY idea what that is??
Buddy..it’s unfortunate that you don’t believe in an afterlife..that you can be an absolute egotistical jerk and you DON’t have to answer to ANYONE..
but it will come..and that’s one party,,
it’s the universal law..so good luck with that!

  187. Donna says:

At one time I enjoyed some of the two and a half men shows, then it just became too inappropriate for even me to watch. My children were never allowed to watch. I sincerely hope that the network/Hollywood will stop enabling this extremely out of control actor. Sheen is obviously spinning way out of control and lost in his own substance abuse delusional behavior. He thinks he’s so different from any other suffering, addicted person out there. He absolutely is not! Sheen has a history of being abusive in his rants, he is also being abused in the level of codependency he is met with in his family and in Hollywood. What horrible examples all this is to everyone. I’ll hold the Sheen family and Charlie himself in my prayers, the same as I regularly do for all the folks who are so lost and alone due to their addictive illnesses. My biggest prayer is for all of us to stop enabling any of this behavior and turn our attentions to where they need to be for all. Not relationships with drugs, money or the wrong people, but a true relationship with God. If Sheen could dedicate one ounce of his energy learning and understanding what that actually is, he’d be a changed man and actually have something of value to offer the world and be an amazing testimony to people who have suffered the way he and his family have. We all do the best we can at the time with what we know. It’s time for the Sheen’s to dig in deeply and get to “know” some new things.
How’s all this working for you ???????
    God Bless
