Sandra Bullock’s new hair: hopefully a funky wig, or is it all-natural?

wenn5625270

These are newish photos of Sandra Bullock on the NYC set of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which she is filming with Tom Hanks. This film should heal America, right? Sandra plus Tom Hanks = Americana porn. Or maybe not – because Sandra’s funky wig is not doing anything for me. Actually, people don’t even know if this is really a wig or if the hair stylist is making Sandra’s real hair look this bad.

Meanwhile, I’m still wondering if Sandra had anything to do with Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper’s split. So far, the official word from both Us Weekly and People Magazine has the split happening sometime around the Oscars in late February, and with Bradley seeming to do the dumping. Also – I’ve gotten the chance to read Star Magazine’s full cover story this week, and while I don’t buy Star’s story that Sandra and Bradley hooked up at a NYC hotel in early March, I don’t dismiss out of hand that there could be something between the two.

Oh dear! Heaven forbid hairstylists actually make movie stars look normal! No, we must have poker-straight hair, fake tans and 24-7 party make up.
    Yeesh, what a non-story!

  2. Hautie says:

    It’s a wig. Thank goodness.

And why does there have to be another female if Cooper stopped dating Rene’.

(But if he did move on with another girl. Please don’t let it be Beil.)

    🙂

  3. coexxi says:

I think she looks cute and younger with this hair… I have a serious girl-crush on this woman, so I even watch films like “Two Weeks Notice” and “The Proposal”, with most other actresses these movies wouldn’t be my thing at all.

BTW the book is nice (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close) but also part of it’s appeal is the funky typing. Other than that it is a total tearjerker!

  4. Louise says:

I don’t see what difference it makes if this is her hair or a wig. It’s for a movie. It’s not as if this is her everyday style.

The picture of Bradly and Sandra are fake Star mag Photoshop a photo of Sandra leaving Quattro restaurant at the Trump SoHo hotel after the having lunch there by herself on Monday March 6 not March 5 and a photo of Bradly Cooper walking though an airport, together to make it look like something going on between them.

  6. Circe says:

Oh, come on. The hair isn’t that bad. It’s what mine looks like when I don’t spend hours styling it. I.e.: normal hair.

This movie’d better be good. That book is one of my all-time favorites.

  7. jinni says:

I really hope that she’s not playing a frumpy character. As a person with curly hair I’m tired of wavy/curly hair types being seen as frumpy and unkempt or as a sign that one has given up/doesn’t care about their appearance.

  8. LindaR says:

@jinni – I have dead straight hair and would give up a limb to have curly hair. I think curly hair is sexy and gorgeous and have endured many a perm to get it that way. Now that I am older I just keep my hair fairly short but still need to add body with gels etc. rather than get another perm. Anyway, I just read that curly hair is coming back in style like it was in the eighties. Hang in there. I would find you beautiful and not unkempt looking at all. I would just be jealous of your naturally curly hair.

  9. HotPockets says:

I’m beginning to think that Sandy is a lesbian, so I don’t buy any story of her and some guy anymore.

  10. jinni says:

    Thanks Linda R.

It’s just so frustrating that only one hair type is considered appropriate.

  11. ghostbuster says:

    i think its cute

  12. the original bellaluna says:

@ jinni – You are SO LUCKY! I have such straight hair; it’s so fine…but I have a TON of it. I think wavy/curly hair is the embodiment of sexy. It’s just not in the cards for me. And all these flat-ironed heads have become v-e-r-y boring to me.

I’m not sure the hair in these pics is a wig, but maybe SB’s hair un-straightened with some hair pieces added in? I could see that.

  13. abbizmal says:

It looks like mine, only a little longer. I refuse to straighten mine. Not only because I like the curls, but I’m a bit lazy and like the wet and scrunch and go. Glad it’s coming back. Just waiting for the silver highlights be in and I’d be the spokeslut for great hair.

  14. bluhare says:

@jinni: Me too. My hair’s very curly and if I style it and it gets humid it starts looking like Sandra’s hair. So apparently I’m frumpy too!

  15. Jessica Johnson says:

I do agree that it is a non-story so far as her hair, as most of us have checked in, that’s our hair on her! We should all be ashamed of ourselves, I suppose.

  16. Crash2GO2 says:

Count me in as a curly girl. It’s taken me years to embrace the spirals and stop torturing my hair. I do still lose my mind every 5 years or so and try to cut bangs or highlight it or something stupid like that and I pay for it. I’ve been recently fighting the urge to blow it out and flat-iron it because I got all the ends trimmed and it feels too short. AT ANY RATE. I think Sandy’s hair looks great here, although I also think it is a wig.

  17. Emma says:

@Jinni It frustrates me too! I’m so glad you said that! My hair isn’t curly, but it is very wavy. Just because I don’t like to kill it with heat every day does not make me frumpy or unkept! I haven’t let myself go because I prefer my hair healthy* It drives me crazy that that is the stereotype. I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who thought Anne Hathaway was adorable premakeover in Princess Diaries… minus the unibrow.

*Disclaimer: I don’t mean that people who use heat products on their hair necessarily have unhealthy hair… just that I don’t do it because I’m terrified of breakage. Also… my hair (naturally dark blonde) is currently white so I’m being extra extra careful.

  18. di butler says:

I just hope for Bullock’s sake, that her nazi sex tape with James doesn’t get leaked right before this opens. I kind of feel like since so many people know about it, someone will try to sabotage her. As for Hanks, until he apologizes for siring his little toolbag son “Chet Haze” and his white boy ghetto rapping about doing hos, he’s on my craplist.

  19. Micaela says:

Surprise, surprise. According to a Vancouver newspaper and Grazia from Australia Ryan Reynolds and Sandy are still an item. Ryan likes for his life to be private, I guess that is why no one is saying anything. If it is true that these two are still involved it would be great. He deserves some happiness.

Her change of hair style is for her new character.

  20. Valerie says:

I too love curly hair and would like my hair to do that naturally.

I’m so glad that curly is coming back in! Hooray!

  21. Mika says:

I’m a curly girl too, and I wear it proudly because I don’t feel the need to look like everyone else. Sandra looks like a totally normal woman here. It’s not glam, just normal.

  22. Cheyenne says:

You can’t see the scalp in the part. Most definitely a wig.

Funny how the straight-hairs want to go curly and the curly-hairs want to go straight.

  23. Mary Jane says:

I think her hair looks cute. As an Asian and super-straight-haired gal, I’ve tried E’ERYTHING to give me the appearance of “naturally curly hair.” (No matter how silly it looks!)
Howe’er, I do think she looks kind of gaunt and too skinny (and NOT just due to BAD makeup).
Blessings to her and her family! Love that she made a huge donation to Japan!
I’d love to have a beer with her…

  24. Violet says:

I think her hair is nice like that!

  25. Amanda G says:

That is a really bad wig…and I don’t mean the style, but the actual wig itself.

  26. Angel says:

looks like my hair a bit if I wash and go. I rather like it, but I think hair of this texture should be a bit darker and glossy, not this flat red so many do. Tends to make it look big and yet lifeless somehow, an odd combo.

Pretty sure it’s a wig, anyway.

  27. DetRiotgirl says:

Ok, am I the only one here who thinks her face looks… Different? Does anyone else think they see a little tweaking happening there?

  28. MaudeLebowski says:

It’s a wig, the part and hairline don’t look *real*.

  29. Newbie says:

I’ve always had stick-straight hair. And I’ve always loved it because I didn’t have to do anything to it. I’m proud of being low-maintenance. But ever since I had my baby, my hair has some natural wave to it. It drives me crazy and I’m hating it. I don’t like flat-irons, I rarely blow-dry it, and I don’t like spending more than 20 minutes on it, at the most. I’ve always had crazy hairstyles, so right now I’m thinking of growing it out to my ass and wearing it in fish tails like a hippie, or letting it get dread-locked. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, Bullock. Yeah…I actually think she’s looking pretty rough right here. And I don’t think it’s the hair.

  30. Newbie says:

It DOES look like a wig. Q: why would someone make her wear such a crappily-constructed wig when she’s got brown hair already and all they’d have to do is wave it? Sheesh.

  31. JQ says:

I live in China and here, the woman destroy their gorgeous hair with perms and horrid dye jobs. Maybe because I was born with naturally wavy hair that was frizzy no matter what I did (I lived in Miami most of my life so try as I might I could never keep the frizz gone for long), but I just cannot stand that kind of style ON ME. Some women look splendid with it, but I am unhappy if my hair curls so I got Magic Straight done to my hair when I lived in Korea and I looooooove it.

  32. Vesper says:

I’m not loving Bullock’s new hair either. It’s not just the waves, but the colour that is off. It is flat and mouse like, and has zero shine. Sandra’s natural hair colour is much more rich, and shiny.

Women in Hollywood have a much easier time maintaining straight hair vs. the average woman. Why, because they make enough money to affort extensions that can be used not just to add length, but to add fullness. Hair colour also helps as it thickens each individual hair shaft adding more fullness overall.

  33. Solveig says:

The hair doesn’t bother me, but the face yes. What’s happening to her? She’s becoming more and more like a Michael Jackson’s clone.
    Not good.

  34. teehee says:

Hmm I dont think that curly or wavy haired’s are seen as frumpies even with typecasting or stereotypes in films like that—- I think the idea behind it all is merely, that with a lot of hair and hair in all directions, it looks more convincinlgy unkempt or frumpy versus if you have stick straight hair- no matter how unbrushed and unwashed it is, it will still look more “kempt”. So its just “easy” and more “believable” to have curly haired frumpies than it is to have straight hair frumpies. I dont think they are trying to say, or make anyone think, that curlies are lazy or dont try 😉
[I have tons of hair- very thick and full, and with natural waves. It will curl if I leave it in a braid or bun that makes it curly LOL]

  35. MaudeLebowski says:

Yeah right, solveig. She’s never had any surgery. You might need a test for cataracts.
