Elizabeth Taylor passes away at the age of 79

lizheader

Damn, this is a sad way to start a Wednesday morning. Elizabeth Taylor has passed away at the age of 79. She died this morning, in LA, and the statement given to ABC News says that she was surrounded by her four children. She was a three time Oscar winner – she won Best Actress Oscars for Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and she also received an honorary Oscar for her humanitarian work. Go to IMDB and check out her filmography – she made some really, really good movies, and she was a much better actress than most people gave her credit for. Beyond her filmography, Elizabeth was known for many, many marriages, especially to Mike Todd and Richard Burton. She was also on the forefront of the campaign against HIV/AIDS, and she was one of the first Hollywood stars to raise money for AIDS research. Even in her passing, she asks people to donate to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Oscar winning actress Elizabeth Taylor died today at Los Angeles, Calif.’s Cedars-Sinai Hospital. She was 79-years-old.

“She was surrounded by her children: Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton,” Taylor’s publicist, Sally Morrison, said in a statement.

“My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love,” Michael Wilding said in a statement. “Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”

In addition to her children, Taylor is survived by 10 grand children and four great grandchildren. Morrison said that a private family funeral will be held later this week. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and said that those wanting to send personal messages can log on to Taylor’s official Facebook page.

Taylor, a two-time Academy Award-winning actress who in later life became notorious for her seven marriages and sometimes eccentric behavior, had reported health problems in recent years and appeared frail in public appearances. Six weeks ago, she was hospitalized with congestive heart failure. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home.

Taylor reported in October 2009 that she was having a heart procedure done. Via Twitter, she said it was “very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery so that my heart will function better.”

The actress’ past health setbacks included a fall from a horse during one of her early film shoots, bouts with pneumonia and skin cancer, a tracheotomy, treatment for alcohol and painkiller addictions, and lung, hip, brain and heart surgeries. She has had anywhere from 30 to 40 surgeries, according to biographers.

[From ABC News]

Over Christmas, I read Furious Love, which is the amazing story of the romance of Elizabeth and Richard Burton, from their early courtship on the set of Cleopatra (while both were married), to the last letter Burton wrote to Elizabeth, the night that he died. I think in Elizabeth’s mind, she never stopped loving Richard or tending to her memories of him, and I hope they are together today, somewhere. Maybe having a drink with Mike Todd in heaven.

Oh no, what a shock !

    RIP Lady Taylor !

  2. mln76 says:

Oh it’s so sad I read Furious Love also. What is striking is she had so many near death experiences where she rallied back. I really thought she’d make it another 10 years or so. But yeah she’ll be reunited with her favorite husbands in heaven. What a great lady.

  3. brin says:

So beautiful….what a life! RIP, Miss Taylor.

  4. Waldemar says:

    Rest in peace Liz.

  5. samihami says:

What a wild, amazing life she led. She made the most of the opportunities she had. There’ll never be another one like her.

    RIP

  6. Zelda says:

AW—I truly glamourous woman. Life well lived.

And as an aside, it is very easy–press/interests-wise–to suggest Jolie is the Taylor of modern Hollywood.

*edit* I’m not a huge Jolie fan, but their tabloid lives read very similarly*

  7. Saphfire says:

Thats truly sad! I wasn’t really into any of her movies but its sad to see these movie greats pass away. Makes one feel very old!

  8. Rita says:

True Hollywood royalty. What a life.

    @Courtney

Please post your thoughts on Liz and her loves. You seem to know a lot about these things.

  9. Dani says:

    Natural beauty. RIP

  10. Jillian says:

Rest in peace, Elizabeth. You’ll be missed.

  11. Diane says:

She was one of a kind, may she rest in peace.

  12. guesty says:

That’s shocking. Wow. RIP. But watch for the Kim Kardashian spin in a quick sec.

  13. Solveig says:

I cannot believe how sad this loss has made me, she wasn’t one of my favourite actors of the classic era of Hollywood, but she’s one of the most vivid memories of my childhood, ‘Father of the bride’ is one of the movies I loved to watch when I was a kid and I still love it.
Very few people can move through life the way she did and still be a class act.
Life gave her love, talent, success and above all the wonderful gift of compassion.
    She’ll be greatly missed. 🙁

  14. the_blonde_one says:

The world lost one of its last grand dames today. She was truly a Lady. Her dedication to raising AIDS awareness and her complete bravery in standing up for gay rights and those with HIV at a time when literally no one else was and continuing to do so from her heart even after it became fashionable makes her a Lady with a capital L.

  15. jc126 says:

RIP Elizabeth. She led an amazing life.
I too thought she’d live to 100, although the recent tabloid photos after it was revealed she had CHF made me think she might very well pass away soon.

  16. xxodettexx says:

    aww, sad news…

  17. Roma says:

Elizabeth Taylor lived her life full of love, passion and a flair for everything. Completely unconventional and original.

    You left your mark.

  18. EdithP says:

Gorgeous. Maybe now she will finally have peace.

  19. fabgrrl says:

RIP, Liz. She was so d*mn beautiful, it makes my eyes hurt.

I didn’t know she had so many children. For some reason I thought she just had one daughter.

  20. albeli says:

    RIP, Liz

She probably heard Jolie is going to play Cleopatra.

  21. Nanea says:

    What a life she had!

So sad for her family that she’s gone, but her long suffering has come to an end now.

  22. Anaya says:

She was an incredible person. She’ll be greatly missed.

    R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor

  23. JM says:

One of the last of the true Hollywood Icons have left us. Rest in Peace Ms. Taylor. I hope somewhere you & D!ck are reliving fond memories.

  24. Aria says:

RIP Elizabeth Taylor! So sad news! My thoughts are with her family and friends.

  25. RHONYC says:

in my eyes there will ‘never’ be another cleopatra on film. ever.

rip to the beautiful, raven-haired, made-no-apologies dame elizabeth.

p.s.- that 1st pic SO reminds me of megan fox! maybe she should do the biopic of her life. you never know. 😉

  26. Franny says:

How sad 🙁 She was truly a legend, gracious and beautiful with a great heart. Her life was like a soap opera! I’m sure she passed with very little regret. I am glad she was with her family at the end.

  27. mln76 says:

    @Zelda

I’m not a huge Jolie fan, but their tabloid lives read very similarly*

Did you read Furious Love? There are alot of similarities she wanted to adopt a ‘rainbow’ family like Josephine Baker. She was a great beauty and humanitarian. She was a scandalous woman who had the hearts of the country/world.

But at the end of the day Elizabeth Taylor was definitely more controversial, more scandalous, more hated and loved by the public. The woman was a child star. One of the first AIDS activists and a Senator’s wife. But she was also a drug addict/alcoholic . And she was actually threatened with deportation and condemned on the Senate floor for her relationship with Burton.

And let’s not forget she once mistakenly let her dog eat Anne Boleyn’s pearl.

  28. Saskia says:

Aw, this is terribly sad. She had a real rollercoaster of a life, but she devoted an enormous amount of time and energy into humanitarian causes. She should have been far more famous for her body of work (Kaiser is right, her talent has always been underrated) rather than her many marriages, but she took that notoriety and turned it into a powerful media force to bring positive attention to HIV charity and research at a time when those diagnosed were treated like lepers. She was a great lady.

  29. MeMyself says:

    I’m crying.
This is a woman who would have thrown back her head in laughter if you told her she had balls, which she did.

I remember her work with Aids long before it was fashionable in Hollywood and have seen many roles she played with perfection, from those with Mickey Rooney to Burton.

Have a sweet rest, old girl.

  30. Beatrix says:

This breaks my heart. I had a feeling this was coming, but didn’t expect it to hurt so much.

Talent and glamour like this doesn’t exist anymore. At least without pretention.
I hope she and Michael are giving each other a big ole hug right now.

  31. Syko says:

I’m surprised that some of you are using Liz Taylor’s obituary column, as it were, to vilify Angelina Jolie when really the two women were so much alike. Both were amazingly beautiful, strong women who grabbed life by the short hairs, who gave of themselves to worthy causes, who loved, who gave birth and adopted, who didn’t always behave in a way to be accepted in polite society, who captured our imaginations and entertained us. I grew up watching Liz Taylor, she’s always been part of my life and I actually sat here crying at work when I heard this news. But she rocked many a scandal in her day, she wasn’t a saint and I don’t think she’d want to be one.

  32. Adrien says:

    Sad.

    RIP

  33. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

    Rest in peace, beautiful lady

  34. nnn says:

Cleopatra doesn’t belong to Liz taylor either.

It was the fourth version. There were :

    1) Theda Bara : 1917
    2) Claudette Colbert : 1934
    3) Vivienne Leigh : 1945 (Ceasar & Cleopatra)
    4) Liz Taylor : 1963, which is more like Cleopatra & Mark Anthony kinda version.

I loved, loved Liz in Virginia Wolf but so far the best Cleopatra portrayal is the one with Claudette Colbert and teh weakest one is the one with Vivien Leigh who was totally miscast.

The next one with Jolie will be out in 2013, half a century after the last one.

Again, RIP great lady, I am sure you are one of those angels now !

  35. REALIST says:

An icon beyond icons. A woman with a big heart, and a survivor. Rest in peace, Elizabeth.

  36. Zelda says:

    @mln1976
Wow they are even more alike than I’d already thought. Very interesting.

And you’ve made me want to pick up furious love, which I will do now. Thanks!

    @Syko:
    Who is vilifying Jolie? Huh?

  37. TQB says:

Such sad news. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her compassion and love for others was boundless. I feel like the world is darker without her light. I am thankful she battled through so many health challenges to live a long and generous life and pass away in the company of her beloved family.

  38. Nash says:

Oh my God this is so sad RIP Elizabeth. This is truly shocking

  39. nnn says:

Liz Taylor had a strong independant personality and a caring heart for her loved ones and causes she loves.

She was neither lazy, neither coward, neither fearful.

She was a figher and a glorious warrior. She fought for her friends to Montgomery Cliff to Rock Hudson, both gays who had to live in secret in Hollywood because of their sexual orientation at a times where Hollywood didn’t tolerate that.

They were both closed friends to her and she protect them, was always there for them anywhere, anytime.

She was always upfront to her causes and tolerant to boot.

I prefer those passionate strong character who don’t hide their flaws and who are compassionate and protective like a wolf with its children, for people she care about.

Those people have always great relationship with their loved ones and there is no wonder that she was closed to each of her children, who all turn out well and grounded and respectful of their mother because of the love, strenght, tolerance she showned towards them.

I salute you Dame Taylor. This is so sad.

  40. Melissa says:

Ok, PLEASE stop comparing Elizabeth Taylor to Angelina Jolie. Nowhere near the same, sorry.

  41. ThatBoyLuke says:

A legend has passed, the last great Hollywood Movie star.

I’m SO upset >_< I can’t believe Elizabeth Taylor is dead, she seemed like somebody who would always be there like Michael Jackson or the Queen…

She was my favourite actress ever, i’ve always been captivated by her beauty and amazing life. I hope now that she’s finally at rest after years of pain and suffering, with Richard Burton and all her lost friends in a better place.

P.S they better start showing her films on TV and having some great tributes.

    RIP ☆★Dame Elizabeth Taylor★☆

  42. Tiffany says:

This one is a bit of a shock even with her age, I too, thought she would be around a few more years. I am currently reading Furious Love and that relationship was amazing and do was Liz. She was unapologetic when it came to her life and she survived things that most people would break down and give up. I have always a appreciation for the way she just lived life. RIP.

  43. Nancy says:

She was one TRULY BEAUTIFUL woman inside and out and I think she is really happy today wherever she is because I’m sure she’s with her one true love Richard.

  44. Mia says:

Cleopatra joins Mark Anthony for eternity. RIP Elizabeth Taylor.

  45. TXCinderella says:

My God that woman was beautiful! Growing up, I always thought her and Linda Evans were the most beautiful creatures ever.

  46. Lisa says:

RIP Elizabeth Taylor, beautiful woman, a true legend.

You know what really grinds my gears? Kim Whoredashian will now have one more excuse to talk about herself. Seeing that Elizabeth Taylor was sick why would Harper’s let a stupid twat like Kim Whoredashian interview her about superficial sh*t like jewels?!

  47. sapphire says:

Larger than life, an icon and inspiration.
And a hell of a woman.
    RIP, Elizabeth

  48. Syko says:

@ Zelda – at the time I posted, there were some posts that ran Jolie down, one calling her a name that rhymes with mutt. I guess they’ve been deleted.

  49. MSat says:

I will always remember her SMOULDERING performance in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” opposite Paul Newman. Goddamn, she was a great talent. Our generation hasn’t produced anyone who can come close to her natural beauty, glamour, ability and compassion. Rest in Pearls, La Liz.

  50. the original bellaluna says:

    RIP, Dame Elizabeth.

  51. JuJuBee says:

RIP beautiful La Liz. Truly one of a kind. Truly sad that Hollywood no longer churns out true beauty and talent.

Yeah the comarisons to Angelina Jolie are a bit much. If there are similarities, keep in mind that it would be Angelina who molded herself to be like Dame Elizabeth. BTW, does anyone know what Dame Elizabeth’s children look like? Exactly….

  52. Cheyenne says:

@MSat: “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” was probably her best performance IMO.

I was very, very impressed at how she stepped up to the plate and went all out to help AIDS patients. She walked the walk while everybody else was just talking the talk.

And OMG, she was so beautiful back in the day. I remember seeing her in “Ivanhoe” when she was only 21 or 22 and wondering what man north of hell would choose Joan Fontaine when he could have Elizabeth Taylor.

RIP, lady. They don’t make ’em like you any more.

  53. original kate says:

OMG, yes – “cat on a hot tin roof” is a great movie, and she was perfect in it. if you haven’t rented it you should, but be warned – liz and paul newman are so insanely sexy your TV screen might melt. what a gorgeous woman she was, and in a time when plastic surgery was not the norm – (maybe she had a little something done? but not much). i admire the way she lived her life and made no apologies for it.

i agree, there will never be another quite like her.

  54. bluhare says:

They don’t make them like they used to. She and Burton showed us how it’s DONE. There hasn’t been as great a Hollywood pairing since.

If you’re a heaven believer, there’s one hell of a party going on up there today.

  55. Ally says:

So sad. Truly one of the all-time Hollywood greats. A good actress, who defined what Hollywood was all about, in terms of art, glamour and gossip! And breathtakingly beautiful, too.

I loved her with Montgomery Clift and Katherine Hepburn in “Suddenly Last Summer”.

  56. Cheyenne says:

TXCinderella: My God that woman was beautiful! Growing up, I always thought her and Linda Evans were the most beautiful creatures ever.
    ============================================

PUH-LEEEEZE!!! She made Linda Evans look like a bag lady!

  57. Cheyenne says:

    Oh lord, I just remembered:

Greatest screen trio of all time: Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean in “Giant”.

Now I am ready to cry.

  58. margaritachum says:

you were one of a kind and led an amazing life.
    rest in peace, lady elizabeth.

  59. REALIST says:

I was reading the VF article about Elizabeth and Richard Burton and remembered something I heard after he died-that she had planned to be buried next to him. Also, the mysterious final letter…? CB-ites, any news to tell?

Despite my curiosity, one thing I know she would want in the end is her privacy…

  60. Anti-icon says:

Have wild, free fun in the afterlife, glorious Elizabeth Taylor, she with the violet eyes, the passionate heart, and personal flair that will NEVER be matched in my lifetime.

  61. ThatBoyLuke says:

Just reserved “Furious Love” at the library, can’t wait it sounds awsome.

  62. ThatBoyLuke says:

P.S i just thought, wouldn’t it be AMAZING if they made a travelling exhibit of her jewellery to raise money for her AIDS charity?

  63. Harley says:

She was as beautiful outside as she was inside. The first time I saw her was in “Cat On a Hot Tin Roof” with Paul Newman, and she just blew me away.

A legend has passed. Rest in peace, Elizabeth.

  64. Cheyenne says:

bluhare: If you’re a heaven believer, there’s one hell of a party going on up there today.
    =============================================

Back in the day, everybody thought she was headed the other way for running off with Eddie Fisher. You wouldn’t believe the outrage. It was too silly for words. They actually made a resolution in the US Senate condemning her.

Fortunately times have changed and people are able to look past the silliness and appreciate her for the great lady she was.

  65. Reality says:

Seriously saddened by this news. She was just breathtakingly and had such style and charisma. My second favourite silver screen icon, after Ava Gardner.

I Will watch Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and BUtterfield 8 tonight with a bourbon and toast one of the most beautiful women who ever lived.

They don’t make ’em like that anymore…

  66. Harley says:

Ok, just went back and read all the posts – someone mentioned the Liz/Kim interview that was done recently. If ever there was one final example (out of years of many examples)of how classy Liz was it was that. While Kim focused on the superficial – i.e., jewels, etc. – Liz kept gently reminder her that there are more important things in life.

Love you, great lady, you were a class act.

  67. YvetteW says:

She almost died so many times that I just assumed that she would rally again. Her passing is sad, but I must say she made the MOST of her time on this earth. I loved the fact that she loved, eat, drank and fought with abandon. Took her lumps with dignity and came back all the stronger. Job well done. RIP Miss Elizabeth Taylor.

  68. Maritza says:

Her beauty was truly breathtaking! So many surgeries, at least now she can rest in peace.

  69. Aqua says:

My heart skipped a beat when I turned on the T.V. this morning and heard this incredibly sad news. To me she is simply the most stunning, talented, generous human beings their ever was and I simply loved how she was not afraid to life her life to the fullest and on her own terms.I thought her sons statement was extremely moving and a perfect description of Liz not only as a humanitarian and a excellent actress but also as a woman and mother.

My favorite movie It’s so hard to choose is Cat On A Hot Tin Roof but also A Place In The Sun I’ve seen both of them a thousand times and I loved the chemistry between Montgomery Cliff and Elizabeth Taylor.

  70. wunderkindt says:

Oh no! She was a legendary actress, great beauty and philanthropist. She will be greatly missed!

  71. BeckyR says:

What a lady! I was born in 1951 and grew up seeing her movies, hearing about her loves and marriages and jewels. I can’t remember EVER seeing pictures of her drunk in public, half dressed or undressed. I called my 79 yr old Mother this AM after I heard the news. We both read Furious Love last yr and Elizabeth was really admired by my Mother. I hope her diaries and papers will be sensitively handled and published…what a blockbuster!!!! God Bless Elizabeth!!

  72. Delta Juliet says:

I am reading Furious Love right now….what a fascinating woman she was and what an exciting life she led.

    RIP Liz

**I too would love to know what that last letter from Dick said…..that kind of passion is thrilling**

  73. junipergreen says:

I have always thought that she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Even as an old woman she was just stunning. I love her movies, love her work for AIDS. She was a class act and she will be missed.

  74. Val says:

Thanks for the “Furious Love” recommendation! I immediately bought it for my Kindle.

I love Liz’s movies. They certainly aren’t making too many good movies these days, when you compare them to the old classics.

  75. Zelda says:

    @Syko
Ah okay–I thought I was going crazy for a minute.

I always thought she was such a tough lady–standing up for causes that were taboo, standing behind people everyone else shunned, the tabloid scrutiny over her love affairs, that horrible marriage to Nicky Hilton.

    Class act.

  76. Syko says:

@JuJuBee: her two sons with Michael Wilding resembled her when growing up, they had her eyes. I have not seen pictures of them in years, but eyes don’t change. The older, Michael Jr., is married to Brooke Palance. The daughter with Mike Todd looked just like Mike Todd, I’m sure by now she’s grown into her face and learned the tricks we all have to learn to maximize her potential. The second daughter was adopted from Germany and does not resemble either Liz or Richard.

P.S. I found this link showing her surrounded by the four of them. The tall blonde girl is the one adopted by the Burtons, the tiny brunette is her child with Mike Todd.

  77. eternalcanadian says:

    RIP Dame Elizabeth! 🙁

  78. lucy2 says:

I read a different bio of her a while back, will have to check Furious Love out. Like most people she had her good moments and bad, but I agree she lived her life to the fullest, and was one of the last remaining true icons.

I hope the charity work she was so dedicated to will continue.

  79. DetRiotgirl says:

Oh no!!! This is sad! I may have to watch Cleopatra tonight in her honor. Liz Taylor was a true icon and a forever beauty. I will miss her. The world will miss her.

I’m not religious. But, on days like this, I really hope there is a heaven. I’d like to think that Liz and Richard will reunite somewhere, maybe alongside George Burns and Gracie Allen.

Btw, I may have to download “Furious Love” now. For those of you who enjoyed a book like that though, you may also like George Burns’ book “Gracie: A love story”. It’s very personal account of another great Hollywood love story. I think George was close to 90 when he wrote it. Gracie had been dead for a very long time at that point too. But, he never stopped loving her. He kept her in his heart right up until the very end. It’s a very touching story, and often quite funny to boot!

Anyway, RIP Liz Taylor. You will always be among my inspirations! The world is now one star short, but the heavens are one star brighter.

  80. OtherChris says:

    Amazing woman.

  81. Trillion says:

I love that this dark, tempestuous beauty came up in the era of ditzy blonds. No one could hold a candle to her. Best movie star ever.

  82. Camille says:

Damn. This has ruined my day 🙁 . She will forever be a Movie Star Legend and is greatly loved by many (including me).
I hope she is happy and at peace now where ever she is.

    RIP La Liz.

  83. crazydaisy says:

I’m with Trillion. A true icon of beauty and one classy dame. RIP.

  84. Kiska says:

Goddess. She was an amazing woman. RIP

  85. France says:

What a sad day. Liz Taylor was such an amazing actress and woman, such a pure beauty, the quintessence of feminity, but with a true and strong personnality ! What a life ! As we say in France “elle a mordu la vie à pleines dents” !

  86. Flan says:

She was so strong physically (surviving so many things), but now she passed away.

Dear Elizabeth, you will be missed.

She can be almost solely creditted for making AIDS a topic that people could talk about, before she insisted on getting people to help her (like Reagan, who also avoided the mention of it for a long time) it becoming high priority, people shunned this topic like the plague.

I love her acting work as well, you will be missed a lot, Elizabeth!!

  87. Truthzbetta says:

    Will always love her.

Her talent was never underrated. She won two best actress Oscars. She was quite appreciated her whole life.

Burton on the other hand deserved a few too.

  88. BeckyR says:

I bought my Mother a coffee table book Elizabeth & publishers put together about her fabulous jewelry collection in mid 90’s. I think most of the profits went to charity. Beautiful pictures and stories about each piece. DOn’t know if it is still available, but would be worth finding and enjoying.

  89. Dea says:

What a beauty and what an amazing journey she had. There will be no one like her. I feel sad when I think that she had to go through so many illnesses but nevertheless she enjoyed her life to the fullest. A woman to admire for her passion for life.

  90. KatScorp says:

    @France:

“elle a mordu la vie à pleines dents”

    She had bitten life toothy?

  91. ezra says:

If heaven or some type of afterlife really does exist, then I would like to believe that it was Montgomery Clift who gently took her hand and led her to the other side. They had such a deep and true friendship, you could hear the emotion, how her heart ached with love & understanding when she spoke of her late friend.
    Rest in peace beautiful lady.

  92. nnn says:

    @ 90 KatScorp

It’s a french expression which could be translated into :

“She lives her life to the fullest”

  93. kiko says:

    a true beauty is now gone… 🙁
    RIP Liz…

  94. Emily says:

RIP Liz. I’m sure she’s meeting up with all her old friends somewhere.

  95. Mouse says:

I loved her as Maggie the Cat and Velvet Brown. So long, sweet Liz.

  96. Lee says:

Old Hollywood is indeed gone with her passing…Long live the queen….RIP in peace Elizabeth….you deserve it.

  97. Maggie says:

Truly one of the most beautiful women of our time. I hope she’s with her dear pals Rock, Montgomery, Rodney, and Michael, and her loves Richard & Mike…
    RIP Miss Taylor

  98. Justme says:

This is the first I’ve heard about this today (I sorta live under a rock and don’t watch much news) and I am absolutely in tears. I knew she was having health problems, but like a few other people have posted, I figured she’d bounce back like she always does. I’ll check out “Furious Love” as soon as I get the chance. @Zelda, actually Taylor and Jolie’s similarities are interesting. Liz had 7 husbands (and ruined a no. of marriages to get some of them too), drug addictions, countless plastic surgeries and was extravagant beyond measure (Diamonds and furs, anyone?). at times,i wonder how she got away with all of that in the good ol’ days when America was such an upright country, when in the 21st century, Jolie is considered some kind of she-devil. for having two husbands, tattoos, veins and a very slender physique, not constantly wearing high-end clothing and walking around with her kids.

    RIP Liz Taylor.
