This Us Weekly story reads like a paid advertisement for a luxury resort, but in the resort’s defense, I think they were just overcome with (Brange)lunacy that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie came to their little establishment for a no-kids-allowed date night. It was more than a date night, actually. Brad and Angie spent the night, and Us Weekly estimated their time at the resort to “27 hours”. That’s a lot of sexy knife action. Keep him in line, Angie.
Alone at last! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ditched their brood of six for a 27-hour escape at the luxe Amangiri resort in Lake Powell, Utah on March 26 and March 27.
“Brad said he was enjoying a little mommy and daddy time,” a source tells the new Us Weekly of Pitt, 47, who jetted from New Orleans (where he’s been filming Cogan’s Trade) to meet Jolie, 35.
Checking in at 2 p.m., they enjoyed a late dinner and flew their private plane over Lake Powell the next morning. Suites at the resort — which features stunning desert views, full-service spa, yoga and “floatation” pavilions plus a fitness center and beauty salon — go for $3,300 per night. Says the source, “They liked the downtime.”
One weekend before, Jolie touched down in New Orleans with their six kids — Maddox, 9, Zahara, 6, Pax, 7, Shiloh, 4, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 2, — for a lowkey visit with Pitt near his Big Easy film set.
(The couple have explained in the past that they never schedule film projects concurrently, in order to ensure that the kids are looked after.)
“Brad and Angie have a truly loving, caring, romantic relationship,” another pal recently told Us Weekly. “They try to make it possible for to be together as much as possible, no matter how tight their schedules are. That’s what makes them so successful in love.”

So what about those reports that Angelina only brought the kids to NOLA for a quick weekend and then she left again? I don’t know. I can’t keep track of them. I think she and kids went to NOLA, stayed for a few days, then she and Brad had this little getaway, and then they split up, with him going to NOLA and her going to LA? But seriously, I have no idea. In Touch Weekly’s theory (via Jezebel) is that Angelina only went to NOLA in the first place to “check up on Brad” because she was concerned he was smoking cigarettes in between flirting with actresses. ITW says Angelina left because she “overstayed her welcome.” But then why did they go to Utah for a romantic getaway?!?

This trip doesn’t seem out of character for them. I remember after Shiloh was born, Angelina gave an interview to Vogue magazine where she said Brad and her make time for each other by taking random road trips together.
Neither of them have the magic looks they used to have. They’re now simply ok, they were once magnificent.

Brad’s next film World War Z starts principle photography in June.Angie will have a screening for her film in April she is flying the cast to LA according to one of the actors.I’m looking forward to May when Brad’s Tree of Life opens @ Cannes. Why is it that we never see stories like this about Johnny Depp and his partner or Matt Damon and his partner, etc. I would love to know what they do for down time together! Do you guys think that Brad and Angie encourage these people to talk or at least say it is OK to talk to the magazine?

I find the phenomena of Brangelina absolutely mesmerizing. They are exceptions to every soceital rule. To all the norms that average Joes must follow (yours truly, Lisa Turtle included).
It’s not so much either of them, it’s the hugeness of their privilege. They are probably the most well-known people in the world. Widely considered the most attractive. Powerful, wealthy.
Their life is something beyond my comprehension. They blow my mind. SIX kids. Two high powered careers. Enormous wealth. Even better than the wealth, they have flexibility. They can work for a few months, then not. They can up and leave on a vacation whenever they please.
Me? I’m chained to my desk. I’m lucky if I get two weeks of vacation. My husband works 100+ hours a week to make a good living. Even if we could afford it, we could never take a “random” Wednesday and fly to a luxury resort for a romantic liason.
Rarely do I look at celebrities with envy, but Brad and Angelina are different. They have everything AND they are HAPPY. Where as, most actors and actresses are unhappy. They put on a surly attitude and demand that the world owes them privacy and they won’t be happy until they get the paparazzi outlawed and all anonymous sources and tabloids shut down. What Brad and Angelina prove is that privacy has nothing to do with happiness. These two have been dragged through the mud, they have no privacy. They are seen, noticed everywhere. But Brangelina proves that celebrities are wrong. The trade off for privacy is the massive liberty of wealth and flexibility of movement.
Despite the fracas surrounding them, these two have managed to be happy and positive. I feel like they know they are exceptional, they know life has dealt them an incredible hand and they want to share it. The truth is, more than any other celebrity couple, these two fascinate me. Their outlook, their lifestyle, their personalities, their artistic work. I’m very drawn to them, and I think it’s their positivity that makes them so unique in Hollywood.
I’ve always tried to be dispassionate and ambivalent about the Jolie-Pitts… but…. that last post of mine… Damn it!

that’s how to keep the love alive!! spending time alone as a couple even though they have children. too many couples with children neglect the “lover” part of their relationship. brad and angie appreciate this and that is what makes their relationship work.
this couple is amazing, they don’t seek out attention, it seeks them out because like mentioned above, they are a unique couple, so in a class by themselves, no one in Hollywood is like them, they are not always in your face and that’s why it’s such a treat to see them. TRUE HOLLYWOOD ROYALTIES IN EVERY WAY, i like the Liz/Richard comparison, old Hollywood indeed. they are both still gorgeous.

In one of Angie’s old interviews, she mentioned that she and Brad often get on bikes and go on short trips.I think that’s really cool. They’re still in love but it takes work to keep the romance going. I like that they make the effort for each other.
Well, everything comes with a price. The loss of privacy for tremendous wealth and freedom to take a break whenever.
Apparently they are strong enough to keep it up and deal with all the pressure and turmoil that surrounds them.
I will give them kudos for that and sticking together even when times were not so good.

@cici: She’s no spring chicken any more. And fortunately, she accepts that fact and she’s not trying to dress and act like as if she was 20 years younger than her actual age. I don’t think looking hot is a priority with either of them any more; they have a lot more substantial things going on in their lives (family, careers, etc).

flotus -There were reports of this trip online on Monday, tweets , flight info, name of spa, etc. US weekly probably got most of the details from stuff I read Monday online . The only new info in US weekly story was the time of arrival. Also there were tweets of Brad back on set Mon night from a costar- a DJ.Also it wasn’t a vacation more like an extended “date night”Angie has mentioned before that they do these quick getaways once to a Motel 6.As someone mentioned before someone tweeted last night was Brad’s last day of filming.

Yes celebs lead the good life, but who knows what’s going on inside those pretty heads? We’ve seen so many couples who have talked and looked like they were so deeply in love, but wound up in divorce court a month later and in bed with somebody else a month after that!
So I find it hard to take any celebrity romances seriously unless they’ve been happily married for about 25 years….

I disagree. I think most couples that we see are usually complaining. Often the target of their complaints are gossip websites, the paparazzi, tabloids, etc. Yet, all of these whiners have had it easier in the press. Brad and Angelina never complain about it. They just go on living their lives, they are content; it’s as if they are living in a different universe. I can’t really think of any other couple that falls into that category.

They can look happy but we don’t really know what their private thoughts are, and as I said, I’ve turned into a skeptic now because I’ve heard so many celebs gush about their undying love only to crash & burn the next week, proving that what they said couldn’t have been honest. I believe that most things celebs say are part of their PR branding program.

Angie’s plane arrived at the AZ airport@ 2:49p, Brad’s plane arrived at 4:49p .You can track a private plane using Internet flight tracking service like flight aware.All you need is the Tail Registration Number of the aircraft.AndraSWChapman tweeted that BP heading to LA signed his boarding pass at the NOLA airport yesterday.

@Katherine: What accusations? Kim, herself, admitted in her post that she was tracking the JP’s flights, and I think that’s odd. Because, frankly, the only reason I’d have to check the departure/arrival times of a flight is when someone I KNOW PERSONALLY is on said flight, and I want to arrive to pick them up on time, etc. But if you people want to continue stalking this family from afar, go right ahead. *backs away slowly*

I can’t believe it. A positive story from US Weekly where they are not kissing Jen’s butt and demonising Jolie with stories of breakup fights and violence. It even has a positive story on her! Hell has frozen over and turned into the North Pole.
I don’t mind that they’re rich and fly all over the place. But the truth is, Angelina is an attention hooch. She would not be with Brad this long without the fact that she “took” him away from Debbie Reynolds…oops, I mean Jennifer A. She has to make sure she keeps getting attention. Look at all the beautiful actresses with great charisma and don’t get “followed” as much as they do.
