I don’t want to pick on a pregnant woman, but Kate Hudson needs better styling. She wore Stella McCartney, and like Rihanna and Gwyneth, Stella completely failed to make her look presentable or stylish. Stella has been pregnant enough, she should know how to cut a dress so that it doesn’t make a pregnant woman look like a big bubble! This silky peach monstrosity has pleating around Kate’s bump for goodness sake.
Look at the single sequin boob and the other boob with the sequins framing the top. It’s just not flattering and wouldn’t look good on anyone, not to mention a heavily pregnant lady.
Kate had messy beach hair with long wavy extensions and she wore a little starburst brooch in the middle of her head just above the hairline. She was going for mermaid and she ended up looking like she just wet her hair and let it dry without doing anything to it. Plus the black eyeliner rimming her eyes just made her look squinty. I like Kate and she’s a beautiful woman, but Stella, her hairdresser and her makeup artist all did her a disservice here. Remember how she said being pregnant was like being stoned? I’m definitely seeing that.

I’m trying to imagine being that pregnant and walking around in those huge high platforms and it’s making my back hurt.
The real let down of the night is Stella McCartney. She seems to have the most dresses on the red carpet and all are pretty bad (except for Madonna’s and it really wasnt fabulous either).
I don’t like the color on her, she seems washed out..I did not realize her bump was so prominent.
I wonder if these celebs wear spanx until its announced.

The hairstyle’s really nice for casual, but not a red carpet. I hate the way the dress fits her in the bust, whether it’s the asymmetrical sequins or whether she needs a bra, it makes it look like her boobs are wonky, with one heading down south fast. The colour really suits her though, and I think it would work if it just had a better cut. And no pleats.
She looks like the pregnant chick at the prom who’s not sure if her date is the baby daddy.
When will the straggly blond hair thing end? I hate this look, it doesn’t look good at formal events.
Kate Hudson gives off the impression of general sloppiness. It’s unflattering, and especially highlighted when she isn’t whippet thin. When she’s small she can get away with looking dirty, stoned, and bedraggled.
Here, on the red carpet, 7 months pregnant? She looks dirty and sloppy, like she hasn’t showed, and unbalanced. Her center of equilibrium is totally off kilter, probably because she spent the past 12 hours laying in bed and then decided to just wrap herself in a smock and shove her swollen feet into those horrible shoes.
Fashion fail.

Apparently when she pinned that hair ornament to her head it impaled her brain. I guessing the part of the brain that tells you to ‘wash your hair’ and style it. I really don’t like her. Not since she looked so desparate these last few years to nail down a man and get knocked up.
Shame, I think the dress is nice (for Stella) and I think Kate looks lovely. But as for the hair – we’ll blame it on the hormones.
I especially like that last shot of Kate though, it reminds me of a lovely regular commenter here who is also about to get her baby friend 😉
Oh Kate! I seriously LOVED her preggo fashion with her first baby. she wore a Missoni gown & it seared in my memory I loved it so much on her. This is just not her style-she’s boho-chick…not prom with a silver spider on her head.
Oh dear. This woman just does not suit pregnancy. She just looks sore and swollen not glowing.
She looks like she just arose from the deep…it’s a wonder she’s not dripping water everywhere she goes. She’s have been better off staying home.

meh. i always give pregnant gals a break in the fashion department – they always looks so uncomfortable. if it were me i would probably wear jammies everywhere in my last trimester. i will say i don’t like the shiny christmas tree ornament on her head.

I don’t hate the dress as much as I usually do with Stella McCartney’s “designs.” But I have to agree with Emily (#7) about the wonky boobs. Unfortunate design for a pregnant lady. They do look askew. I kinda like the princess hair-do, but then I’m a Kate fan. She looks like she’s just having fun with that hair.
Her stylist is Rachel Zoe so you can blame Stella McCartney for putting her in this dress Rachel Zoe is the one who pick it out for her to wear.
I feel so bad even thinking it, but my first thought was “…She looks like a PLANET orbiting the red carpet, eclipsing the sun.”

She’s close to delivery I saw she said in an interview. So kudos to her for even dragging herself out and fitting into something. A little too pale for her. But her stupid hair is the bad thing.

Poor old Kate is like myself, and does not bloom during pregnancy. The dress is too fussy and contrived. If it were a simpler design and cut it would be better. I am thinking preggers girl at the Prom. Money cannot buy taste.

The shoes are a no-no (why do that to your back and spine when you’re so heavily pregnant?!), but honestly she looks comfortable to me in that dress. I have to confess, I don’t mind the jewel piece in her hair. 🙂
While I thought she was so pretty when she was younger (the Almost Famous days), she does typically look sloppy and unshowered. I find its usually a combo of her outfit, flat hair, unpolished makeup and, when she is not pregnant, an untoned unhealty kind of “I don’t care what I eat” body.
No pregnant woman should wear those heels. I’m sorry! I can’t stop giggling. The flower on her head makes it impossible for me to be objective!
I actually think she looks great, especially that pic where she is cradling her tummy. I really think the dress works there are a few things I think would make the dress better. It’d be better if the top had a matching sequin theme (either 2 full sequin boobs or 2 boobs with sequins on the top). The hair and sequin thing in it don’t look good though. Whose arm is she grabbing like an accessory clutch?

Stella McCartney is riding her father’s coattails. I am so sick of these celeb children making it on their parents’ name. Stella’s dresses in SFA window (NY) are laughably ugly and unflattering…some are downright baggy. The celebs are forcing themselves to wear Stella to pay homage to the cult of celebrity.
