Like all of the cool kids, Kate Hudson wore Stella McCartney two nights ago for the Met Ball. Many of you thought she looked rather messy. I was glancing through the photos and I think… yeah, she just looked like she styled herself. Like she picked out a half-decent dress, decided to hippie it out with granola styling, and then she just added a tiara. It was a dumb look overall. Now, however, I’m thinking that Kate was just saving her better maternity look for last night’s premiere of Something Borrowed, her new rom-com, costarring John Krasinski and Ginnifer Goodwin. Kate wore what I’m assuming is a Versace gown built just for her and her bump. I think she looks so radiant, put-together and lovely. But I’ve always loved Kate when she’s pregnant. I love that she gains so much weight! And she’s so cute pregnant.
Meanwhile, Ginnifer wore Herve Leger by Max Azria. I usually dislike Leger, but this is a cute dress, and it suits Ginnifer, I think. But I’ve never noticed how prominent her ears are! Weird.
Hilaray Swank was at the premiere too, for some reason. She’s not in the film. Maybe she just wanted to see it? Hahaha. She’s wearing Michael Kors.
And here’s John Krasinski! I don’t think he plays the love interest or anything, he was just stuck playing “the friend of”. Kind of sad for his career, but still, he looks nice.

I usually dont like yellow but I think this shade is pretty and mostly I like the dress on her.
Those of us with big ears, know that an old wives’s tale is that “big ears mean long life” – ha ha – yea right!
Any way, Ms. Swank looks awful – she needs a good haircut and brushing.

I love the dress. Gives me a southern pageant vibe for some reason.
Kate looks great, the film looks awful. Or whatever comes after awful – they couldn’t even find a single humourous moment to put in the damn trailer! But the straightened hair and the yellow colour and pregnancy in general really suit her.

What a difference a day makes – It’s hard to even believe Kate was such a disheveled mess at the Met ball when you see these pics – she looks fantastic. That’s a difficult color to pull off, but it look lovely on her, her hair looks nice and the dress is just cut so beautifully – radiant is really the only word for the whole package. She puts all of Portman’s puckered sacks to SHAME.

I love everyone’s outfits!!! I think it’s so difficult to dress pregnant women, and Kate’s dress really puts all other maternity wear to shame. I love the cut on Hilary’s pants and top, along with the simplicity of her matching handbag..and finally…Ginnifer and (and those shoes!!) are just fabulous. Great visual start to my morning 🙂
I think they all look great! I don’t particularly care for Ginnifer at all, but the dress looks great on her. And Kate looks radiant! She is still in that glowy stage of pregnancy (my baby is due tomorrow & I have totally lost the glowy look, lol). And, for once, I think that Hillary looks wonderful too!
Kate looks so much better here than she did at the Met event. A side note..her face really swells when shes pregnant. Also, she can’t be two far off, her navel it out.
Yellow has always been this girl’s color! She looked fabulous in yellow in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, and she looks great in it here too. I love Kate’s hair straight. Usually she wears the hippie-looking wavy hair.
I don’t care for Kate’s dress and why is it so long? But I l-o-v-e Ginnifer’s dress and shoes, just love them, love.
I really don’t like Ginnifer. I want to smack her like Kaiser wants to smack whatsherface. Ever since she cut her hair she has this “Im so edgy because i have short hair, but im wounded and small and you should think im cute but a badass at the same time” look. I just don’t like her.

I think the dress is gross on her but I don’t like those types of dresses on pretty much anyone. She looks good in yellow but this yellow is getting dangerously close to making her all one colour. Hilary looks WTF. Ginnifer, however, looks amazing. I love her dress (I think if the patterns were more on a diagonal it would have looked even better), her hair is great on her and the shoes are awesome.
Okay right clothes, wrong people. Kate should switch dresses with Ginnifer and Hilary switch with John.
I love the dress. I wish they would make more clothes like that for pregnant woman, especially the rest of us who can’t afford bespoke clothes.
Hillary Swanks actually bought the rights to the movie from the author of the book (Emily Giffin) so that is why she would be there. Perhaps she helped produce it as well.
I think that Kate looks wonderful! The dress looks light, breezy, and comfortable – definitely what you want when you’re pregnant and in your third trimester no less – and the colour suits her.

I actually love all the outfits. Wow! That’s a first! They all look tailored toward each personality somehow. Kate looks amazing in that dress. And her hair is gorgeous flat-ironed. The color is awesome. I love Ginnifer’s hair and I love that dress. And the shoes are a nice match. And while I think Swank’s outfit is a bit matronly, it still looks really classy and really flattering on her. Win for all three.
I would never think that blondes would look great in yellow, but they really do.

i remember a younger fresh-faced kate gleefully hyper and hungry for the world at her feet – and boy did she plunge in, and plunge in, and plunge in… then after some years, the magic rose-coloured glasses disintegrated, and she saw a world that was harsher, more cynical if not downright the antithesis of every romantic childish dream she harboured. now she’s just full of barely concealed cynicism. Her smiles are tightlipped, never a wide-open laugh anymore, and those smiles never extend to her eyes – they used to be upturned like halfmoons. she’s now has that mask about that’s just like, ‘been there, done that. next.’ she’s lost her innocence… and boy, her innocence used to light up my life.
Kaiser, If you ever read this book or the follow up you would know of John’s character. I don’t think his career will be as ‘the friend’. Boy they are pushing this hard. Maybe they believe if Thor is sold out women will drag men to see this crap. No, i will hold out for Thor.

If the sequel gets made then John and Kate are the main characters. I liked this book but I looooved the follow up Something Blue so fingers crossed this does well enough to get it made. Although it probably won’t. How many rom-coms have sequels?
