Prince William & Kate spend time with the Obamas (update: more photos!)

fp_7363944_barm_cambridgemeet_obama_09_12

Oooooooooooh!!!! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Waity Katy) met the Obamas TODAY, at Buckingham Palace. These are the first photos of Kate and Will since their honeymoon. If possible, Kate looks even THINNER? Did she eat anything on the honeymoon? Good Lord. Anyway, William and Kate couldn’t be bothered to invite the Obamas to their wedding, so this is the first time the Obamas and the Cambridges (meh on that name) are meeting all together. I like that the president and William are the same height – they’re both super-tall dudes. And I don’t like how twig-like Kate looks standing next to FLOTUS. Look at her! (UPDATE: More photos at the end of the post!)

Newlyweds William and Kate greeted the Obamas in the grand 1844 room of Buckingham Palace at the start of the US state visit to the UK. It was the first time Kate had undertaken a role as a member of the royal family since her wedding. There were no television cameras nor reporters in the room for the meeting.

A Clarence House spokeswoman said the couples spent around 20 minutes together, chatting informally.

William and Kate returned from their romantic honeymoon in the Seychelles at the weekend and made a special trip to the Palace to see the President and Mrs Obama. The American leader and his wife did not attend the couple’s recent wedding but the state visit has been seen by form of sweetener instead.

Mr Obama told how his country was fascinated by the Westminster Abbey service when he met the Duke’s father, the Prince of Wales, at the White House in Washington a few weeks ago.

William and Kate will be visiting the US during their first overseas tour as a married couple, which begins at the end of next month. The Obamas met the royal couple shortly after arriving at the Palace ahead of the formal ceremonial welcome in the gardens.

Kate, looking slim and tanned after her honeymoon, was pictured deep in conversation with Michelle Obama. Dressed in a pale coffee-coloured cap sleeved knee length dress, she held a black clutch bag as she chatted to the First Lady.

William, in a dark suit with a handkerchief in his pocket, gestured with his hands as he talked with President Obama.

[From The Telegraph]

Us Weekly says that before meeting the Cambridges, the Queen arranged a private tour of Buckingham Palace for the Obamas, and the Queen also arranged a 41-gun salute by the Scots Guards, as well as a performance of The Star Spangled Banner. Nice. I think the Queen really likes the Obamas. Michelle especially, considering the two women had a touchy-feely moment during Michelle’s first trip to England.

The Obamas came to London after a brief stopover in Moneygall, Ireland, which is where President Obama became Barry O’Bama, the Irishman. He drank Guinness at a pub and he probably danced a jig.

lol. I like the pic of obama after he had a sip of guinness.

You are right, our little waity looks even THINNER. Honeymoons are for having fun and getting off diets, Kate!

  2. Jackson says:

Ew, she’s channeling Keira Knightly in that picture with Michelle Obama. And, wow, she does look even thinner. Doesn’t she know you’re supposed to gain back at least ten pounds as soon as that wedding gown comes off? Or maybe that was just me?

  3. maria says:

    nice 🙂

  4. chasingadalia says:

    Love Michelle’s dress.

  5. mogul says:

She should work on her posture, badly, she looks bored out of her mind (2nd pic). Her fake smile isn’t as honest enough as Williams. Being a princess is more than being thin. You’ve to be in the present of people, you wouldn’t bother to be in your spare time.

  6. azurea says:

I think this is the new Kate…ever thinner. On second thought, maybe she picked up some intestinal parasite on her honeymoon.

    Love Guinness!

  7. kasper says:

Kate to Obama: do you like… stuff? Because I … I really like stuff.

  8. Alex says:

mogul, you’re assuming that she’s actually thought about what it takes to be a princess. 😉 She’s had her eye on the prize, not realizing what comes afterward.

  9. mln76 says:

Kate Middleton in the same room with Michelle Obama… my mother loves them both so much I think her head will explode when she sees these pics 🙂

  10. Wendy City says:

OMG! Look at the side view of Kate. She is so thin! She always had a nice athletic figure…now she is rail thin. It’s scary.

  11. PrettyTarheel says:

@Jackson…You are not alone. Although I had to skinny back down 3 months later for a pistachio green satin bridesmaid’s dress.
I also agree about the Keira Knightley comparison-especially in the pic where she is flipping her hair. She looks like she has a mouthful of nails-Keira’s usual facial expression.

  12. almond says:

That is much too thin. She would never survive a winter in the Kamchatka. Maybe the Suomi can adopt her and feed her reindeer steaks.

  13. Praise St. Angie! says:

Kate looks very pretty here, but she does look skinnier than before.

also love the pic of Obama drinking the Guinness with all those ruddy Irishmen. The beer that eats like a meal!

  14. Hautie says:

I really like both of their dresses.

And I am thrilled to see that Michelle has stopped wearing those tragic looking big wide belts… cinched up under her boobs.

I have to agree Kate looks even thinner. Which I didn’t think was possible. But the cut of the dress and the color of it looks great on her.

  15. Samihami says:

Well, Kate does look quite thin, but not really more so than usual. I think standing next to MO,who doesn’t know how to dress herself in a flattering style, just accentuates Kate’s thinness. MO looks burly and beefy.

  16. really says:

William looks great! OBAMA always looks dandy, with his wife. Kate looks lovely, love her dress and her whole look, and her tan is divine! CHEERS.

  17. Embee says:

She looks really nervous, what with all the hair touching and awkward hand gestures. Generally she seems very poised (wedding day) but not here. I guess she’ll grow into it. Agreed seh seems very thin. I hope she doesn’t let her weight get out of control.

  18. Stephie says:

I wish they’d gotten better (hello, face forward) pix of the First Lady. Love the shots of our President drinking a Guinness. Not your typical PR photos, hehe

  19. Fifthpocket says:

Oh my god oh my god oh my god, these pictures are too good and it might be killing me…….I love how much it looks like Kate and Michelle get along!

  20. Julie says:

She may be thin but not bobble headed like Jolie. It actually looks to me like she gained an itsy bitsy on the honeymoon.

  21. aida says:

OMG Kate looks so old. She needs to gain som weight and stop smoking asap.

  22. Siren6 says:

    Someone feed her, quick!

  23. fabchick says:

I really like Kate’s dress. Simple and classy.

  24. kasper says:

    Captions:

Picture 1: Obama explains to Prince Bald Spot III the concept of meritocracy.

Picture 2: Michelle waxes poetic about the rewards of having a career. Princess Waity silently listens, while thinking about diet pills:

Picture 3: Prince Bald Spot III struggles to grasp how the concept of meritocracy leaves room for inherited privilege.

Picture 4: Having had his fill of the royals, Obama decides to get loaded

  25. Siren6 says:

Seriously??? Why am I being moderated? What have I ever posted that could possibly be considered offensive and worth moderation?

Please let me know, so I can either avoid it again or go elsewhere, because I’m absolutely baffled. I have seen mean-spirited postings here, and nothing I have ever contributed has come anywhere near that.

  26. Melinda says:

Kate looks beautiful, but she needs to put on 10. Great dress. I also think she looks nervous, I would be too!

  27. DGO says:

    I love Kate’s dress.

  28. Melissa says:

    Nice floods on Wills!

  29. potatopeel says:

I wish someone would explain why the “royals” always carry purses? It’s not like they actually have money in there! And – she needed a purse at this social gathering? I have read that the queen keeps dog biscuits in her purse to feed the corgis – maybe Kate has started that practice also. Or – is it just to “keep their hands occupied”? Oh well – they have their traditions.

  30. Kaiser says:

Siren – Chill out, dude. Moderation happens. Even I get moderated when I post comments.

  31. AngelMay says:

Royals carry purses because a lady always carries a purse.

Yes– too thin. And Kate should take a few inches off her hair. She doesn’t have to go all soccer-mom, but the long hair is too schoolgirlish.

  32. sapphire says:

    POTUS, FLOTUS and Cambridges.Marvelous!

  33. guesty says:

I like the fact that Katy is owning that ring instead of it wearing her.

  34. Chickie Baby says:

I’m with Kaiser on this one–I think the House of Windsor likes the Obamas. (And the Queen has looked a little more relaxed and less stuffy in recent years, so the Michelle Obama hug was probably not as big a deal as the etiquette folks made of it.)

This is sort of a perfect “first official thing” for Duchess Kate to get her feet wet. The Pres and wife are nice, friendly Americans who can chat about any topic, so there’s no huge pressure on Kate to “perform.” And they all look so relaxed in the pics! There may be hope for the Realm, yet.

  35. constance says:

Eh. Every time I hear the Cambridges, I think Madness of King George and how the plan to become more British is finally happening. lol marrying commoners! nuuu!

I think it was a good looking photo-op on the whole. Kate looks bored and thin- business as usual.

  36. HotLatino says:

She’s not too thin IMO, she’s perfect!

  37. Des says:

It was obvious in the wedding balcony photos that William, Harry and Kate were all much, much more tall than the rest of the Windsors, but I didn’t truly appreciate how much until they were standing next to the Obamas. This is the first time I’ve seen the Obamas looks like normal people rather than the Giants of Washington.

    Really gorgeous giants but still…

PS – that pic of Obama in a pub is from his visit to his ancestral Irish village. Apparently he was the first black person they’d ever seen and they were super excited and educating themselves about how it could be that a black American could end up with ancestors in their lily white village. The story is cuter than it sounds, really.

  38. Mia says:

Wow, she looks super tiny next to Michelle. Eat, Kate! You’ve won!

I hate the way she holds her hand, as if to show off the ring. I know it’s just what she’s been taught, but gah…it grates.

  39. ladybert62 says:

Contrary to popular opinion, I usually dont like what Michelle O wears – but this dress is nice on her.

Kate does look thin – does she even weigh 100 pounds any more?

  40. trolleydolly says:

Prez Obama’s visit to our little island was really appreciated by the people of Ireland (of which I’m one). His visit to his Grandfather’s Grandfather’s village – Moneygall- went down wonderfully well! Michelle and he spent 45 minutes shaking hands with all the residents, hugging and kissing some of them (especially Henry Healy, Barack’s cousin) It was a lovely snapshot in time – and the banter in the bar which was live on Irish TV was wonderfully natural and funny. When they went back to Dublin city centre for a public address there were over 100,000 people waiting and thousands more unable to get in due crowding. The best bit was when he went walkabout and a teenager handed him her phone to say hi to her Mom, which he did! The secret service looked horrified by all the manhandling, hugging and kissing.
Truly a lovely day for us here in Ireland.

  41. Ria says:

Obamas fucking own this. The Prince and the Princess suck

  42. deej says:

Kate is thin, but i would kill to have her hair!

  43. Stephie says:

There are a few more photos from this on their Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/britishmonarchy/

  44. trolleydolly says:

    @37 Des
“PS – that pic of Obama in a pub is from his visit to his ancestral Irish village. Apparently he was the first black person they’d ever seen ”

Ah Des, Des, Des – that’s the most unbelievably condescendingly incorrect comment I have read in a long time. May I assure you we are a multicultural society here in Ireland.

  45. Kelly says:

Help me — what do POTUS and FLOTUS mean?

  46. alma says:

i love Kate’s outfit!! and i love michelle’s dress, hate the pointy shoes 😛

  47. apsutter says:

They actually look like a handsome couple here and Prince William looks very cute in the top picture. I hate how Kate is apparently going to be wearing grandma shoes all the time now

  48. JustJen says:

POTUS: president of the united states

Waity looks like she’s trying too hard. Posing, cutting her eyes towards the cameras…and a clutch bag? Really? If I didn’t know better I’d call her out for product placement. Learn the moves sweetie.

Michelle Obama looks real and gorgeous in that dress. No clutch bag for Michelle. Maybe she’s giving style tips to Waity.

  49. Days after Christmas says:

FLOTUS looks fabulous. I can’t believe one of you people called her “burly and beefy.” Get out of town! She’s fit and very womanly.

Waity, on the other hand, looks almost emaciated. She’s a dead ringer for Celine Dion now! I love her dress though.

I like the Obamas as people; they seem like they are chill and know how to hang and still be proper.

  50. HotLatino says:

@Kelly President of the United States and First Lady… I learned it from The Simpsons hahaha

  51. mel says:

    Both ladies look stunning!

  52. Brittney says:

This is possibly the best article I’ve ever woken up to on Celebitchy. My two favorite royal couples (I know, I know) meeting… and then Barack, being completely bad-ass with my favorite beer.

“Obama downed the full pint in four slurps and came away with a foam mustache.” That’s my president! (Oh yeah, and that Osama thing…)

  53. Hazel says:

    Oh Michelle…what is that outfit.

  54. Anastasia says:

Kate’s hair needs to be tamed a bit. It’s pretty but too out of control, all those long layers everywhere. Needs to be neater for that dress and occasion. And I’m not a fan of black shoes with that dress but the dress is adorable.

Thin or not, the girl has NO hips whatsoever. C-sections for her.

It struck me looking at William with Obama that he’ll be king someday. Wow. I watched that kid grow up.

Obama with the Guinness is precious!!!

  55. Shay says:

Even the President of the USA can’t cope with Guinness. I don’t blame him. Yuck!
Michelle Obama doesn’t believe in pantyhose huh? Maybe she should consider it. Her feet are a sight.

  56. Hanh says:

The all look great. I love Kate’s dress but I agree that she looks like she has an eating disorder. She has lost all the athletic muscle she once had, and now she’s just bones. Please go back to looking athletic and fit, waity! You looked so much better then!

  57. xxodettexx says:

lolz to the idea of O’Bama dancing a jig! 🙂

  58. JulieM says:

Stickperson Waity better learn how to play the game a little more convincingly. Granted this is her first glad hand with visiting dignitaries, but how hard is it to talk to two very engaging, dynamic and intelligent people (POTUS/FLOTUS). This is what she waited nine years for.

  59. LindaR says:

@Siren, I get moderated all the time and I am not a controversial poster. It just happens. Don’t take it so personally.

  60. kasper says:

@JulieM — for Princess Waity it is very hard to talk to anyone about anything other than makeup, clothes and diets. I don’t think this is what she has been waiting for. She’s been waiting for the palace in the Magic Kingdom. If she ever sees Disneyland, she will be crushed, when she realizes that all those Disney princess cartoons she grew up watching and aspiring to aren’t real. Then in the evening she will lie there stiffly as Prince Baldspot III does his duty by god and country, wondering who she is. In the morning she will realise that self-reflection is not her strong suit and she will be happy once again, amusing herself by ordering the servants to do silly things.

  61. Magenta says:

Kate looks amazing. I love her dress!!!!

  62. JulieM says:

Kasper: Just so, brilliant! I stand corrected. 🙂

  63. Ron says:

They all look great! I love having a first lady with style. There hasn’t been one since Nancy Reagan so it’s nice for a change to not see the first lady in some suit from Dress Barn.

  64. Anon73 says:

    @kasper: LOL and love it !! ; -)

  65. Kim says:

Michelle is the worst dressed first lady ever! What is that 80 yr old senior housecoat she is wearing with her 50’s dress? Totally ugly print & super unflattering to her body type. Pear shaped women should never wear dresses that flare out at the hips it just makes them look huge on the bottom. She is also wearing way to much makeup but her hair looks good – ill give her that.

Love Kates dress but she is to thin.

  66. Redheadwriter says:

What I want to know is if Kate and Obama went outside together for a smoke.

  67. Dee says:

strong beautiful women with the men who need them – so the public will notice the men ( sorry mr.prez and William)

  68. Des says:

@ Trolleydolly – Uh, maybe you should tell that to this here Irish writer who has this to say:

They accepted without demurral that one of their descendants was president of the United States, but struggled to get their heads around the notion that one of their sons could be black…Still, the fact remains that Moneygall is very, very white. No black people live in the village, but Moneygall is not unusual in that respect; rural Ireland is very, very white.

    Moneygall =/= Dublin

If you feel he’s wrong, please let The Daily Beast know because it’s coloring people’s (my) perception of multicultural rural Ireland.

  69. Mairead says:

I hope trollydolly will forgive my hyperbole when I say that this post has made me squee like a squeeing thing as we’re all still coming down from the most positively-historic week we’ve seen in an incredibly long time with the visit of the President and the lovely wind-blown Michelle yesterday and the Queen and Prince Philip last week. Such a shame it was tinged with sadness at the passing of the late great Garrett Fitzgerald, our ex Taoiseach (prime minister).

Normally I cringe at footage of Presidents, and even poor ould Hillary, being dragged along to pubs, but the footage in Moneygall last night was hilarious and heartwarming. He actually looked really at home.

And you know that Prince Philip was like, totes jellis, because Obama got to have a pint and Philip didn’t. The Queen and Prince Philip had a perfect pint pulled for them in the Guinness Storehouse, which PP was enthralled with. Decorum meant they didn’t drink it, but poor ould Philip looked like he could do damage to that pint! (although to be fair, the Guinness at the Storehouse isn’t very good, stout needs to travel).
    http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01898/queen-guinness_1898691b.jpg

I’m looking forward to sitting down and properly enjoying all of the footage from the past week and the President’s (he of the Moneygall O’Bamas 😆 ) speech.
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2011/0524/breaking2.html (another brilliant pic in that article too)

Speaking of the wedding, the visit to Ireland/Moneygall, and presumably to the UK, was arranged as far back as September at least (that’s when I was given notice of it on the QT), so possibly they were avoiding causing mayhem to a long-standing schedule. And perhaps also because the level of security needed to accommodate the Obamas would have really inconvenienced the wedding?

Des. Was that meant to be funny?

  70. Skins says:

She looks like Sammi from Jersey Shore

  71. Madison says:

Does she eat anything, for a tall girl she’s way too thin.

  72. Incognita says:

I loved Michelle Obama’s dress and cropped jacket. I appreciate her willingness to take fashion risks without looking crazy. Kate and Wills looked great too.

  73. gemmaa says:

Ummmm, delighted by O’Bamas visit to one of our little villages. He and Michelle were impressive in the time they spent meeting the locals, shaking hands and kissing babies ;D
It’s taking it a bit too far to say that many of the locals had never seen a black person….lmao.
Waity Katie – does she smoke? She looks like she may, but I doubt it.

  74. Brittany says:

Kate looks rather intimidated by Michelle…
    As she should!!!

  75. sleepy says:

Gemmaa, Kate has been photographed with cigs in her purse and there have been rumors of her smoking for years – she’s just never been caught smoking on camera because she knows it would blow up into a scandal. I think in the article here yesterday or the day before someone noticed cigs in her purse in one of the pictures.

  76. jenni says:

I read the Obamas were not invited to the Royal Wedding due to the fact the security detail would be far too expensive. They also did not invite Sarkozky and Bruni nor did they even invite Tony Blair. And as luck would have it anyway-there was a lot of devastation in Georgia and Alabama the day of the Royal Wedding, which Obama went down to see — so in a way I am glad they weren’t invited. He was really needed here that day. I like these pics.
I love how styling yet relaxed all four of them always tend to look. 🙂 Thanks for posting these!

  77. Venus says:

That “touchy feely” moment was a major faux pas by Michelle — the Queen was too polite to say anything, but people trying to pretend that was some kind of “nice” thing are out of their gourd. It is ok to like Michelle, but her touching the Queen was a social gaffe & I’m sure the Queen was not amused.

  78. polkasox says:

@Jackson – ITA – I gained about 15 lbs after my wedding! 10 on my (2 week) honeymoon – the food was so tasty!

  79. kasper says:

@Venus – I’m so glad Queenie tolerated being touched by someone who actually earned her place in the world. It was quite brave of her really, keeping a stiff upper lip in the face of the commoner’s touch, as every brush with reality brings with it the risk that the entire Magic Kingdom will go up in smoke. And then where would the world be, without the Windsors to laugh at? We’d have to go back to mocking Lindsay Lohan — although, it isn’t always easy to tell the difference.

  80. zesty says:

Did I hear that Obama gave the Queen an ipod with one of his speeches on it and she wasn’t thrilled? Or was that just an urban myth?

Kate looks like she’s trying so hard to act grown-up and important…love the dress.

  81. gemmaa says:

Thanks Sleepy! I love a good smoking scandal…lol.
Anyone see the footage of Queen Elizabeth in Ireland for the last week, especially in Cork? Although touching the Queen in an over friendly manner is a big no-no…us Irish got a good feel several times, ha ha….and no big scandal in the media. Strange. Was it in NZ where it happened some time back and made big news?
She seems to have enjoyed her stay in Ireland throughly.

  82. Steph says:

Michelle Obama is ALWAYS sooo well dressed, she’s a stunning lady!

Katie is a little skinny for my taste, but she’s a lovely girl and I really like that dress.

  83. Poppy says:

A big yawn for Kates look and a What The? on Michelle’s dress, it looks like something and 18yr old would wear to a prom in 1960.

BTW William is 6’3″ and kate is just over 5’8″ (though she likes people to think she is 5’10” like Diana)

  84. Solveig says:

I’m as thin as Kate so to me she looks ok, but I don’t have a bobble-head, tho.
I like the dress, simple but not boring and original.
Dear Barry O’Bama, you are drinking Guinness in the wrong way, dilettante. Guess you didn’t like it.

  85. bluhare says:

In other news, Obama and Cameron got trounced in ping pong by 16 year old kids.

And as to the moderation thing, I’ve been in permanent moderation for about a month. No idea why. Not complaining; gives me good editing time, but I have no idea what i did to get sent into the corner for life.

  86. Camille says:

Where are all the people screaming that Kate must be a drug addict??
    After all aren’t all thin-skinny people druggies/anorexics?? 😮

  87. Quercus says:

trolleydolly and mairead, thanks for the local reporting on “O’Bama”‘s visit – that was great fun to read! As an American, he does me proud (which is more than I usually expect from my political leaders).

    Love Michelle’s outfit!

  88. Mairead says:

    @ Des.
One blogger does not a nation make. And one British writer (as it clearly says on his profile and in the article) certainly doesn’t speak for the country population of Ireland. Rural villages are generally very white as you say, but most larger rural and county towns will have an African community as well as Middle Eastern and Asians. Sure, there was a disconnect initially – 4 years ago before he was selected as the Democratic candidate. But at that time Moneygall weighed in whole-heartedly behind him, despite Hillary being better known and pretty well-liked here.

And although far rarer then, it did happen before the late 1990s as Irish emigrants had relationships or would marry people from the West Indies, Asia and South America. The most famous examples are of course Phil Lynott and artist Kevin Sharkey.

But you and that one blogger both implying that we rural Irish dwellers are so friggin’ backward that we can’t get our heads around a distant relation being less pasty than us is incredibly insulting. We are well aware of the network of Irish descent, regardless of colour or nationality, regardless of whether it’s JFK, Henry Ford, Martin Sheen, Che Guevara, Prince Albert of Monaco, Mariah Carey, Jimi Hendrix, Muhammed Ali or Barack Obama. Whether many Irish people want to like it is another matter.

    In short: sod off.

  89. kasper says:

Michelle knows colour, but she doesn’t dress well for her body-type. Somehow she always looks like that kid in the class photo who hit puberty before anyone and had a massive growth spurt — oversized.

  90. Mairead says:

Bugger, too late to edit. I notice that that blogger does live here. But he still doesn’t understand the country it seems – “inadvertent racism”? I’d say there’s fierce little inadvertent about it, boy.

  91. Jaxx says:

@Siren–I’m always moderated and I’ve never said anything hateful either.

I think Kate looks elegant and beautiful.

  92. Lisa Turtle says:

Kate posing hard with her right hand in every photo. She loves that ring. She worked hard for that ring.

  93. Lisa Turtle says:

I am in love with Michelle Obama’s pink caplet. I want one and I want to wear it with everything.

I think America should be proud! Our first lady looks BOMB! That silhouette of Michelle is beautiful. Lady-like and very elegant. I love that Michelle isn’t afraid of dramatic color. The particular hues on display today are very baroque. Very regal.

Poor waity’s ugly beige dress is tired and tacky and pulling on the sides. This is a big event Waity, dress for the occasion. I’ve seen much cuter stuff at Zara.

  94. Siren6 says:

@kaiser & co. Thanks for clearing that up. I have posted for years and all of a sudden a couple weeks ago everything I post goes into the moderation queue. No warning. No explanation.

  95. Samihami says:

“FLOTUS looks fabulous. I can’t believe one of you people called her “burly and beefy.” Get out of town! She’s fit and very womanly.”

No way. Like her or not, she is a very masculine looking woman with a poor sense of style. She just is-that’s been proven over and over again throughout the Obama regime.

  96. kibbles says:

Yes, there are people out there who are naturally very thin. Waity has always been skinny, but her current weight is NOT her normal weight. Just look at Celebitchy’s archives or photos of Waity in college. She was at a healthy weight then. Normally, people gain weight as they age unless they diet and exercise to actually weigh less than they did a decade ago. Waity seems to be a good 30-40 pounds thinner than she was at age 20. That is a good indicator that she is purposely losing weight with extreme dieting and/or exercise.

All four beautiful, and both cross-continental fairy tales. Hats off to both couples, may they enjoy their special lives.

Whoa. Absolutely no hips on that Catherine! Straight up and down on the sides. And how the heck did she lose even more weight when she did nothing but lay around on the beach? Not even shagging 24/7 would cause someone to lose another 10 pounds.

I have to question the reasoning of people that continue to call Catherine “Waity Katy.” Why do they still call her that?

Also, Catherine seriously needs to curb this hair touchinng/flipping stuff. It is annoying plus she keeps waving her hands around. If her hair keeps getting in her face, put it back in a tail or wear a headband or clip.

Anyone who teaches public speaking and communication etiquette will tell you those are two of the worst things you can do.

Could Kate be any more “look at my ring” in those photos?

    1. Michelle looks gorgeous, and she looks so young. It’s hard to believe she’s decades older than Kate.

    2. It was racist and offensive that the Obama’s were not invited to the wedding. It was the first time in over a century that an American president was not invited to a British royal wedding.

  101. Samihami says:

it was racisr that the Obama’s weren’t invited to the wedding? Sorry, that’s just idiotic. Thwere were other people of color at the wedding, so your comment is invalid.

Besides, why should they invite them? They have done nothing burt make missteps with the royal family since Obama took office. I don’t find it at all surprising that they were excluded.

  102. Mairead says:

I don’t understand how not inviting the Obamas was racist either, especially when the heads of state of neighbouring countries were also not invited as it wasn’t a state wedding. And from what I can see online there have been any number of recent royal weddings that the then POTUS wasn’t invited to.

  103. Poppy says:

    DB your an idiot.

There were 4 Black heads of state with their wives at the wedding three Arab/Moslem kings/queens and several Polynesian/Melanesian and Asian heads of state all of varying degrees of colour and religion.

No European heads of state were invited only leaders of Commonwealth countries and Obama needed 500 security people with him plus several tanks disguised as cars this visit, he would have been a bloody night mare at the wedding.

Hey, Poppy, learn how to spell before you call someone an idiot.

  105. Lia says:

Sorry, but I think Michelle Obama’s dress is “Appalachian Sadie Hawkins Dance” fugly. Maybe if she ditched the little pink jacket…..

  106. taxi says:

Kate’s dress is nice & she’s now too thin, but WTF with all the hair-play stuff. She’s far too aware of the cameras & shows less poise than I’ve seen in the past. Trimming the hair a few inches wouldn’t hurt. Maybe then she’d stop fiddling with it.
