Khloe Kardashian is working with “a team of people to help her get pregnant”

wenn3251870

I feel kind of bad about writing about Khloe Kardashian’s fertility troubles, but then I realized that Khloe is pretty much giving us permission to discuss the state of her womb. She gives lots of interviews about wanting to get pregnant and now we have this “exclusive” from Life & Style about Khloe and Lamar seeking out fertility treatments and such. Apparently, she has a “team” of people working in or around her biscuits. And before you cry foul and yell “TMI!” – Khloe and Lamar posed for photos for Life & Style, and they pitched this as a story about their “babymoon”. I don’t think this is the correct use of “babymoon” though. I thought babymoons were for ladies who were already pregnant, and the baby-daddies would take them somewhere a few months before the birth?

Khloé and Lamar Odom celebrated Memorial Day Weekend by going on a romantic getaway to the beautiful Montage Resort & Spa in Laguna Beach, Calif —and Life & Style has all the exclusive photos! The pair took the weekend away as a chance to finally take the honeymoon they hadn’t taken after their September 2009 wedding but more importantly, to spend time focusing on starting their family.

Khloé, who’s tried to get pregnant for a year, according to several insiders, finally decided to take action by looking into fertility treatments. “She told me she’s been working with a doctor and a team of people to help her get pregnant. She recently stepped things up and began exploring new methods,” a source close to the family tells Life & Style.

“She’s asked about every possible way to help her infertility problems, like trying artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization,” a pal of Khloé’s confirms. “She really wants to get pregnant by the end of the year.”

Another friend confirms that Khloé’s told pals she’s considering in vitro. Going through IVF can be draining, but experts including ob-gyn Dr. Shari Brasner say it can increase chances of getting pregnant. And while the 31-year-old NBA star, who already has two kids, is eager to welcome another child, he isn’t putting any pressure on his wife.

“He’s being extremely supportive and is willing to do whatever it takes,” an insider reveals. “But at the end of the day, he just wants Khloé to be happy.”

[From Life & Style]

I’ve gone from horror at the very idea of Khloe and Lamar spawning to actually rooting for them to have a baby. But that’s just me – I like Khloe. And I kind of like that she’s okay with her womb being discussed so openly. I hate to admit it, but Khloe’s fertility troubles might open a lot of dialogue and reduce the stigma and secrecy that still surround infertility.

I’ve never seen their show and all I know about them I’ve pretty much seen here, but I’ve been there and wouldn’t wish infertility on anyone. It’s sad to see this story right above octomom and her tool of a doctor. :(

Awww I love Khloe also and hope that she and Lamar do either create a child adopt one or do surrogate…but has Khloe ever explicitly come out to say that she has had fertility problems?

I know she’s said that they have been trying but all the other stuff is rumors imo until she says it. Unless she has and I just missed it?

No, I’m still (and will forever be)in the horror of them spawning phase, especially since Lamar barely acknowledges his kids. I can’t stand Khloe and her loud obnoxious mouth.

Of course Life & Style has the exclusive photos of their Memorial Day/Wilda Beast Sex Vacation but seriously, cant anything that happens in a Kardashian’s life be private? Can Khloe and her husband have one private vacation/day/bowel movement without the paps being called?

  5. Quest says:

ITA with brin on this one, another addition to the Kardashian Klan is just gonna be another opportunity for Kris to get her pimping on and probably more reality spin-offs.

On a personal note: my heart goes out to anyone who wants babies and need assistance for it.

I like her! She seems to be the smarter one out of her sisters. She does put her whole life out there but she’s been doing it for so long that it’s pretty much all she knows. Even if she wanted to keep something private, her mom would leak it to the press because she’s insane.

Here is my advice if you want to get pregnant, listen closely because it is 100% effective. Stop taking your BIRTH CONTROL! LoL. Seriously, I’m not buying any of this. I’m convinced this whole scenario is just another plot line for their reality show.

Sometimes it takes a little time to make a baby. To jump full into IVF is so hard on a relationship – I’ve seen a few marriages fall apart as a result of the stress.

If she has genuine health issues that’s one thing; but this just makes it seem like a timing issue. So, it feels pretty tacky.

@kaiser, thank you for the erudite commentary. Even if her reasons for sharing her struggles aren’t noble, her experience is still relevant (especially to those of us that have struggled with infertility).

I agree with Krissy_Kitty. I think this is manufactured drama. These people have no shame. She’s very young to be needing a “team” of doctors. Hubby’s fertile, mom’s fertile, sister’s fertile. If a doctor had given her a reason why she’s having trouble, I’m sure it would be out there already.

What about Lamar’s kids?! He BARELY sees them. This is just a famewhore story. I feel horrible if she is infertile and wants to start a family but they should incorporate his kids in their life now.

Of course shes the sane one out of the bunch, but in normal terms, she’s still atrocious.

IVF? Really? Isn’t she like, 25 or so? And they haven’t been married all that long. I thought IVF was kind of the last resort. Well, what do I know? I’m not her doctor.

On the last episode she got a full on examination on camera. Papsmear and more. She was tested and told that she should not have trouble concieving. Sometimes it can take a while. I have to respect her for being willing to put that discussion out there.

Yeah,I say it´s all fake drama!
It´s a very new low even for reality tv. But it´s the Kardashian´s , I wouldn´t expect anything less from them!
Not to mention, the more “infertility” and “speculation” more her pregnancy will be worth $$$$.

@ Kriss Kitty I agree, this is manufactured drama. I am seriously starting to believe that Mother Kris has meetings weekly and hands out the drama each will be facing this week:

“OK KHloe you want a baby & can’t make it happen, Kim lets see if we can a bikini spread on tab, remember key points booty, breasts and don’t forget to mention wanting to get married and babies too. little ones, the modeling career thing isn’t panning out, and you need to pull your own weight. this week we are putting you on birth control shock middle America out of their bonnets…. OK BREAK!

Yes that is exactly how i see it happening, losers the whole lot of them.

  24. Amanda says:

They have been married for ONE year and how old is Khloe? 25-ish? There is a absolutely no need for her to go through IVF at this time. Unless she has some sort of medical problem that will make natural pregnancy totally impossible (which seems unlikely as she probably would have told us about it already). It seems like desperation to have Lamar’s child and those guaranteed huge child support payments for 18 years, if something were to happen to the marriage.

  25. Blue says:

I caught the tail end of their show (getting ready to watch something else) they were having a family dinner and talking about what they were thankful for and Khloe said that she talked to the dr. who told her she was perfectly healthy and they could start making babies. So I dunno where this stuff is coming now, about her having fertility issues.

For her sake I do hope it’s made up. I’d be so sad if I couldn’t conceive. It must be really hard to go through all of that. If one day I find out I can’t have a child, I’m defnitely going to adopt.

I am a licensed Acupuncturist in Texas, and I can state with full confidence that ANY fertility regimen should absolutely include acupuncture & Chinese herbs to facilitate getting pregnant. Chinese medicine brings the body back into a state of balance, regulates mestruation & ovulation, and greatly enhances/increases the chances of fertility treatments being successful.

  28. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@dread pirate, according to my reproductive endocrinologist, fertility is not genetic (although infertility related miscarriages can be). So, her parents and sibling may have been fertile but, she may not be. Also, as @aenflx alluded to, high testosterone (low progesterone) is common in people with PCOS. As a matter of fact, @aenflx might be on to something. Other symptoms of PCOS include excess body hair, weight gain (mostly in the middle) and trouble losing weight.

@Gabrielle, a full OB exam (including Pap smear) can sometimes provide answers as to why a woman is having problems conceiving. However, after a year of unsuccessful conception , a reproductive endocrinologist is often consulted . Blood tests and ultrasounds help him/her determine why the couple can’t conceive. If the tests appear “normal,” but the couple still cannot conceive (even with reproductive assistance), then the woman is given the diagnosis of “unexplained infertility.”. So, I guess what I’m getting at is, everything can appear normal but, it may not be.

@fabgrrl @dread pirate, many of the women visiting my reproductive endocrinologist were in their mid to late- twenties the first time they saw the doctor. I was 28. However, I agree it’s too soon for Kloë to go the IVF route. Particularly if she hasn’t tried clomid, injectables, IUI etc.

Infertility sucks, and IVF is no picnic (it’s NOT an “easy” way out)—and it isn’t just for “older” women. There are a sadly large number of reasons why a woman can’t get pregnant, and there’s no need to torture yourself with trying if it’s just not gonna happen. They are very lucky to have the means to pursue this route, so best of luck to them!!!

I’m not buying it either. Not only have they only been married a year, they’ve only KNOWN each other a year + one month. Add to that their schedules , etc and they probably haven’t gotten the timing right.

Sounds like reality show generated drama to me.

@Morticians: You’re right, of course. I’m sure many *young* women with fertility issues have been helped with IVF. But, yeah, in their circumstances, I would think they would try Clomid (which my mother-in-law used to conceive in her early twenties) before going the IVF route.

I won’t judge her for wanting a baby with the man she loves. And sometimes even WE don’t know what’s going on with our own bodies, so (unless there’ve been a spate of tests) how would a doctor.

Her “team” of people could include: nutritionists; homeopathic and/or Chinese medicine practitioners; acupuncturists; psychologists (trying to conceive can be a very devastating time); reproductive endocrinologists (thanks @Morticians!); it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s seeing a “team” of OBGYNs and fertility specialists.

My heart goes out to women who struggle with infertility. My mom was one of them.

I hate to be a cynic, but I agree this is probably manufactured drama for their show. This family exists on an endless loop of weight-loss/engagement/pregnancy/marriage nonsense – and I find it really disturbing and gross.
If it’s for real, I wish them luck, but considering all the stories about him ignoring his other kid(s), she might want to think about it for a bit.

  42. Kasey says:

@Relli LMOL! *sigh* I so hate to say this but only because of everything I’ve seen to allude to Kris’ character do I believe everything about this family is manufactured drama. Take Kim’s “surprise” engagement that had already occurred when she was walking around and keeping it under wraps for about a week and things leading up to it apparently made it into the upcoming KUWTK season. I fail to believe that all just “happened” it was calculated. Maybe not completely but at the very least on an uncomfortable level.

Like @4Real said, as much as I like her “she’s STILL Kris’ kid”.

JPX: for starters, try these links. Than do your own homework from there. Acupuncture does in fact very effectively treat almost any condition, and what it can’t outright cure or prevent it can alleviate symptoms of. http://www.acupuncture.com/research/
    http://nccam.nih.gov/health/acupuncture/
http://www.who.int/topics/traditional_medicine/en/ I trust that NIH & WHO are reputable enough?
Morticians: PCOS is treatable, very much so. Acupuncture refers to PCOS, uterine fibroids, & ovarian cysts generically as “abdominal masses” and they can be integratively treated for maximal results.
