At some point, I just gave up on trying to understand, interpret or excuse Kirstie Alley’s delusions. Bitch is crazy: I give up. Let go and let Xenu. Previously, KA has claimed that she went from a 12, to an 8, and now to a “stretchy size” 4 or 6, post-DWTS. She also claimed she lost 38 inches – just by going down from a 12 to a 6. So this latest interview with Kristie barely got a “Seriously, you need to be institutionalized” raised brow from me. Kristie sat down with Life & Style, and with a complete straight face, claimed that she has the same waist size as Megan Fox – 22 inches.
After losing 60 pounds on Dancing With the Stars, Kirstie Alley is very close to accomplishing another goal – slipping into a sexy Ports 1961 dress. “My goal dress has a waist that’s 22 inches,” she shares with Life & Style. “I tried it on, and I can almost zip it up.” She plans to wear the dress on her Italian vacation in a few weeks. “I’ll be my target size by then,” she exclaims. That means the 60-year-old can soon start sharing clothes with sexy Megan Fox!
“I do have a 22-inch waist,” confesses the 25-year-old. Although the Jennifer’s Body star jokes that she has to starve herself to maintain her trim physique, the truth is that it takes a lot of hard work to stay that slim. “I did a lot of Pilates — an immense amount of Pilates,” Megan reveals. Kirstie is just as determined to keep the weight off. “I’ve been dancing almost every day since the show ended,” she confides. “I like all the Latin dancing. It’s the best exercise and the best cardio.”

I’m really starting to worry… about Kristie’s poor assistants and stylists who have to run around, jury-rigging tape measures and sewing three pairs of Spanx together and doing weird stuff with magnets for Kristie’s scales. It must be exhausting. I guess I should give Kirstie some credit – at least she didn’t actually say she was the same size as Megan Fox. Life & Style just interpreted it that way.

A long time ago, when she was doing “Veronica’s Closet” (remember that?), I read that people who were in charge of costumes had to replace the labels because she was gaining weight and would freak out if her clothes were labeled “L” or “XL” so I agree with you about her poor stylists. Difficult job they do.

The Hell? Why does she say cr*p like this? She has obviously lost a lot of weight from her dancing gig and she should be proud of that. I think she looks perfectly fine now. Remember, Kirstie is 60 years old. Sixty! And she is a tall woman. At her age, with her build she doesn’t NEED to be a size 4-6 to look good. She can carry off a 12 just fine.

In Gone With The Wind, Scarlett O’Hara had a 16 inch waist. And that was from lacing herself into a restrictive corset that left her unable to eat more than a few bites of food or even breathe properly.
Due to punative dieting, bottom rib removal surgery, or lacing oneself up in a tight corset, some women can manage to achieve the feat of a tiny waist like that.
But for the love of God, why would anyone want to punish themselves that way? Kirstie has some kind of Body Dysmorphic Disorder ideation where she can’t even see herself as she really is. It’s like a body hatred.
Her insistence on harping on her weight and measurments is taking away from any ability for her to be happy or live her life as she really is. So sad for her and especially her kids.

Actresses usually lie about their age… and I’ve never known another one who is delusional about their weight. They either own up to it, or go into hiding until they finish their stay at a fat farm… umm…spa. Kirstie looks amazing for a woman in her 60’s, but as far as the weight, there is NO way she’s even a size 10 or 12.

It’s dieter’s math that she’s using when she reports that she’s lost 38 inches. You total all the inchest you’ve lost i.e. 5 inches from the circumference of the right arm, 5 inchest from the circumference of the left arm, 10 inches from the waist and so on…
She would have had to lose 100 inches from her waist to have a 22 inch waist though… that must be liar’s math she’s using for that!
She’s lucky if she’s able to fit a 22inchwaist dress in one leg. Really, what kind of delusional woman is she? @Gracie: in the past there were drastic methods to achieve a tiny waist (plus, you have to consider that women were a lot shorter than today, and measurements were different), but it’s still possible today to have some (not so extreme) measurements, a lot depends on body shape. While I think most model lie on their size (because 24inch is VERY SMALL for a 5’9” woman, especially if she’s built like a beanpole), someone like Fox (smaller) maybe is right. Hell, I have a 22 inch waist, and it’s mostly because of genetics (thank to hell, mom).
Maybe she meant 22″ across the front, laying flat? Because think about it, NO ONE has a 22″ waist, which is why Megan Fox’s measurements were newsworthy. Designers do not make dresses that no one can fit. I’m short and slim (not skinny) and I wear a size 2 designer, and my waist is 26″ first thing in the morning before I eat or drink…so there’s no way her size 4 or 6 or whatever she is claiming today has a 22″ waist.

She probably is a size 6, in Chico’s sizing. Size 1 is small, 2 is medium, 3 is large, etc. etc.
I’m also pretty tired of hearing about KA’s constant preoccupation with her weight. This has been going on for so many years and it’s just boring. She was fine on DWTS, especially for being 60.She would look sooo much better is she’d just brush her hair and stop making that face like she smelled something bad.Such a mom comment but so true. Maybe Kirstie’s mindset is the “Hollywood B-Listers Sizing Scale” that has fooled her into thinking she’s a size 6 with a 22″ waist. OR, she thinks that stretchy pants that start out with a 22″ waistband makes it true that SHE has a 22″ waist, even though the pants have stretched to twice that much!

My Mother died of Dementia. One of the first things I noticed about her before she was diagnosed was that she had this really unrealistic view of herself. I asked her if she had thought about dying her hair & she said…why? I don’t have a gray hair on my head. She was looking at herself in the mirror at the time…and she was totally gray.

It’s all about genetics. Some women have a 23′ waist even in their twenties or thirties, but I highly doubt that they do in their sixties as well.
That aside, she is obviously delusional and needs help. To have this kind of obsession with body image when you’re in your sixties, there must be something wrong in the attic. I’m just sorry that everyone gets to see how far gone she is. This sort of thing shouldn’t happen in the public eye.

I think she looks great at the size she is now, especially compared to how obese she has been in the past. With that said, her body isn’t making her look bad, it’s that god awful makeup. The thick black eyeliner on her is way too harsh and brown crap smeared under her eyes makes her look tired and/or sick. Her hair is so stingy looking, I’d love to see what a good makeup artist would do to Kirstie, I bet it would be a huge improvement.

She may be currently being ‘pressured’ (By her PR team, her management/representation, or even a company she may work with.) The faster it appears that KA is losing weight… The more interest people will have in both *her* & whatever product(s) she used to get to her current weight.

I had a 23 inch waist once. I was in my teens and lived on Megan’s diet and workout plan. Megan is right for once. It IS *work* Unhealthy, work that I didn’t have time for once I went to college. It doesn’t involve laces – it involves being very young, working out for hours a day and not eating.

The only positive thing I have to say about Kirstie’s body is that she is a lot more toned than she used to be.
I wouldn’t be ragging on her body if she wasn’t comparing herself to a starving 25 year old who is too thin.
I agree that she has some delusions about her weight. When we lie to ourselves about our issues (ie weight), we are dodging reality. It sucks that our society worships unreaslistic perfection. I believe she indicated she stayed drugged/coked up to stay super-skinny in 80’s. It was a struggle for her at 30, its a helluva lot harder when you’re older. Having to deal with those demons is bad enough without being constantly critiqued & criticized. I’m not sure I would leave the house.
Until she takes a good long HONEST look in the mirror, she’s going to continue to have her entire existence controlled by food/weight issues.
And that sucks. I’ve been there. I weighed over 320# (max of scale), but I lost the weight with lots of exercise & total revamping of food & my relationship w food. There is no magic pill (which I believe she is looking for). People often ask what my ‘secret’ is. Find a way to eat that you can live with the rest of your life. It’s hard but it’s a lot better than denial & trying to stuff yourself.
