I got the high alert from the hilarious Missile Panda on Twitter: “Waity Katey is a Wimbledon looking bored out her tiny t-ts. Wills looks like some kind of mafia boss is suit and shades.” While I would never (!!!) be so harsh, I will say this: I don’t think the Duchess of Cambridge enjoys tennis as a spectator sport. Maybe she prefers to play, I don’t know. All I do know is that in almost every photo, it seems like Kate is doing everything she can do to avoid watching the game at Wimbledon. Playing with her hair, gawping unattractively, gossiping with William, gossiping with the people around her, checking her watch, playing with her hair again, posing for photos. Anything to relieve the boredom. You know what’s weird, though? This wasn’t an official royal outing for them – they were there “privately” (in the words of a Palace spokesperson). So I guess Kate’s boredom wasn’t at an official function at least.
The dress is Temperley London, a label which is a good fit for Kate, and I always wonder why she doesn’t wear more Temperley – the label is girlish and feminine, but not overly so. It’s perfect for a princess… or a duchess.
According to People, William and Kate got an “enthusiastic ovation as they took their seats in the front row of the Royal Box at Centre Court, with William smiling broadly – and blushing a little – at the adulation.” They were there to support Englishman Andy Murray in his match against Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
Will and Kate leave for Canada on Thursday. How many times will Kate be photographed playing with her hair and looking bored? This is exciting!

I actually like it. It’s very pretty.
I’d rather play tennis than watch it, as trying to keep up with looking at the ball gives me a headache.
Also, just a note. Even when Kate is supposed to be giving attention to someone else (look at the first picture of Will and Kate), it seems her eyes are never on the person. They’re always looking directly at the photographer, or trying to locate where the photographer is.
EDIT: Is she starting to get some bags under her eyes or have they always looked like that?
i know it’s weird to say this considering all the plastic surgery train wrecks out there, but might she benefit from a tiny bit of upper lip injection?
Boring, hair flipping stick person. While most photos of her are pleasant; she is occasionally caught with a ghastly expression, as in the 4th picture above. Same thing for William. Must have been a great joke.
Kate looks perfect yet again. I think they make a stunning couple. I want to play with her hair!!
Her clothes look great. She and Pippa really need to do something about that eyeliner situation though…

I grew up playing tennis, and love watching it as well. I think it is absolutely wonderful for tennis that they were there, and the reception was very warm and welcoming. Her dress is cute, and is a nod to the tennis whites that the players have to wear at Wimbledon. Kate & the Middletons have been going to Wimbledon for years as spectators. I don’t think she was bored at all.
I wonder why William was wearing a coat and tie though – can’t he dress down if it’s a private trip? Also it was like 100 degrees today. He must have been sweltering.
Interesting dress and it looks good on her – I cant imagine staying awake at a tennis match – about as interesting as golf or baseball. I suppose reading a book would be a little obvious!

Oh dear, that’s 3rd picture of her is really unfortunate! Oh well at least she’s not like Posh who won’t even dare to crack a goddamn smile when she knows she’s being photographed, she doesn’t dare risk a bad picture. Glad to see she’s FINALLY wearing an outfit that isn’t covering up to her neck. I was beginning to think she had decided that a Duchess shouldn’t show ANY decolletage, ever. I really wish she’d wear her hair pulled back more often, she’s making me hot just looking at that blanket of hair she’s got round her shoulders. And I can’t wait to see how many times she’s photographed touching her hair in Canada!

I think Kate looks lovely. Yet, I am tired of hearing all the harping about her eye liner.
I have seen very few 20 year olds who didn’t love their black liner. When they should have tossed the pencil in the trash.
I can vividly recall Princess Diana, was obsessed with her royal blue eye liner, up to the end. When it had went out of style in the late 80’s.

Poor William’s face is red from the heat or maybe he’s embarrassed his wife continues to look bored and flipping her hair around? On the other hand the blokes behind them are in suits with red faces too. It must have been proctocol that day?
William’s hair doesn’t look any different. The comb-over is still pretty heavy. He probably added some hair spray or something to make it look more poofy after seeing how awful it looked on the wedding day.
@Hautie I can understand being tired of the carps on Catherine’s eyeliner, and too right about William’s mum overdosing on that bright blue eyeliner. I just wonder why no one is telling Catherine to lay off it now that she’s going to be 30 soon and really it makes her look like she’s pushing 40 already.
Another thing, it still bugs me William won’t wear a wedding ring. I see a wedding ring on a bloke behind William. It just tells me William doesn’t take marriage or Catherine seriously if he doesn’t wear a wedding ring. It has nothing to do with military stuff (I know a few blokes in the military that wear their wedding rings when they aren’t on active duty) or that he will try to pretend he’s not married. It’s the principle. He put a wedding ring on Catherine. Why can’t she put one on him?
Oh, that charm bracelet Catherine is now wearing. I think it is another Diana pass-down from William. I can’t help but think he’s trying to make her into a copy of his mum–the ring, the bracelet, similar clothing styles, etc.?

On a purely shallow level its good to be Duchess Skeltor in 2011 with all the privileges. You get to wear good dresses, can get your hair done at the best salons, not to mention the chance to meet some fascinating people like the Obamas. Even though she is meh looking, she gets ordinary folks to fawn all over her saying she looks ‘lovely’. The commentators here are normal but some sites the comments are bordering on sycophantic. Someone actually wrote ‘you can see how intelligent Kate is through her smile.”
I would really like to know how she managed to hold Prince William’s interest for so many years especially when they met at a age when a man likes to play around and isn’t thinking of long term . Sometimes I cant help but wonder, if she would have been a Duchess today if she had dated the Ginger Prince or the Prince of Monaco who would have made her wait until he turned fifty to put a ring on it.

I’m a huge tennis fan, so naturally, I spent the whole day seeing the Wimbledon matches.
And every time they showed Kate on TV, I found her to be really uninterested in the whole thing. She never looked at the people playing, she was always looking around or talking to someone.
I also think she’s looking scary skinny. In the past, she was a bit on the chubby side and definitely needed to lose some weight, but now she looks like a bag of bones.
Also, someone should tell her to stop using self tanner. It makes her skin look terribly orange and leathery.

The bracelet is not a Diana hand-me-down from William. Its actually got a little charm attached with Catherine’s initial and her official coronet engraved above it.
I dont think Kate looks bored at all. She’s at the tennis and watching the game while talking to William or whoever around her.
Though I do think a nice swish ponytail would’ve gone better with the heat and the cute dress to show off the front straps.
Love the dress, but I wish someone would update her make up a bit. That heavy dark eyeliner on the bottom is looking a bit dated.
