No deal yet in Madonna divorce, he said/she said continues

According to Madonna’s publicist, the reports of a deal reached in the divorce are premature and nothing has been settled yet. Reports this weekend had Guy accepting a cash and property settlement worth a mere fraction of Madonna’s over half billion fortune. That’s not true, says Madonna’s publicist, who regularly repeats whatever Madonna tells her regardless of whether it bears any resemblance to reality:

While both Britain’s Sun and Daily Mail went to press Saturday with seemingly believable divisions of the duo’s nearly $600 million combined assets, Madonna’s right-hand woman Liz Rosenberg has denied that they, or any other reports of a settlement, are accurate.

“I will not be commenting on the various reports regarding the divorce or of the settlement, which has not been finalized,” she wrote in an email to the Associated Press.

The supercouple-no-more, who announced plans to divorce last Wednesday after nearly eight years of marriage, are expected to battle it out over money, property and, chiefly, custody of their two sons, 8-year-old Rocco and 3-year-old David.

While Madonna clearly provides the lion’s share of the duo’s combined wealth, accounting for roughly $525 million of their estimated $560 million fortune, the since-disputed weekend reports saw Ritchie walk away with just a fraction of that total.

No sex for 18 months
Even more details are coming out about Madonna and Guy’s relationship and the way they grew apart. The Telegraph is reporting that the couple didn’t have sex for a year and a half and that Guy was overheard comparing being with Madonna to “cuddling up with a piece of gristle.”

The pop singer’s daily four-hour exercise regime meant that they went 18 months without making love, according to a friend of the couple.

The pair lived like “brother and sister” in the final years of their marriage, with Ritchie, a film director, increasingly put off by 50-year-old Madonna’s muscled physique, it was claimed.

“He got more and more frustrated as she spent nearly half the day working out. Afterwards she’d be too tired to make love,” the friend said.

“And towards the end Guy wouldn’t be there. He’d get fed up waiting for her and go down the pub with his mates.

“He is the one behind the split.”

Guy wants more cash; was against adopting David at first
The Sun, which has largely been sympathetic to Madonna and some suspect is being fed stories directly from the 50 year-old pop star, is running two items today about the divorce, that Guy is holding out for more cash, and that he was initially against adopting David Banda but that he warmed up to him and loved him as a son. Madonna and Guy are said to have disagreed over the fact that she was hoping to adopt a baby girl next and he was against it. If this is the two year-old little girl Madonna wanted to adopt it’s a good thing she didn’t get her way because he has a living grandmother who doesn’t want her to leave the country.

The next question is what will happen with their children. Madonna is said to want to keep her three children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, with her in New York. Rocco is Guy’s only biological son and is is thought that his father will strive to keep him in London in school with his longterm friends.

I hope that Guy gets half of the money Madonna earned during their eight years together. He surely put up with a lot of crap and he’s entitled to half.

  1. For once I’d leave this alone. Suffering through a divorce is a no win situation for everyone involved.

  2. How many separate Madonna divorce posts do we need in one day?

I would almost rather read such riveting posts as your Jennifer Carries Violet and Opens Car Door with Key that Looks Like a Cookie.

Sorry - but it is getting really slow and repetitive around here.

  3. Honestly, I really can’t see Ritchie holding out for more cash. He’s woken up to a coyote arm and I hope he signs his copy of the papers as ‘See Ya!’

  4. Note to Geronimo: Told ya, girl!

Guy’s a fool if he gets out of this marriage for anything less than $100 million in cash and property.

  5. Ha! Wanna put some money on that, Missy?

Ok, we’ll see. Although I guess it depends on what else she says about him in public. He’s only human, has been decent so far in the face of extreme provocation; if she continues to piss him off, he may well reach the point where he says, right, f*ck this for a game of soldiers, we had a deal, deal’s now off. And could you seriously blame him?

  6. I find it strange that the story gives the impression Guy is a big meanie for initially being against the adoption of David (and subsequently whatever little girl was then being talked about). I’m surprised Madonna was allowed to adopt the baby. Maybe Guy’s reservations were correct. How much time does she actually spend with the kids outside of working out and rehearsals? I don’t begrudge her lifestyle, she’s works hard but really I think the baby smacks of an accessory but who am I to say?

  7. My D.H. started singing the Iggy Pop song “Tiny Girls” when I told him the Ritchies were kaput.
It goes in part like this:

    Well the day begins
    You don’t want to live
    ‘Cause you can’t believe
    In the one you’re with
    ‘Cause you know her tricks
    And you know her past
    When she makes a face
    You just have to laugh
And you feel like such a know-it-all
When you only want just a tiny girl
    And you hope she’ll sing.

  8. She exercises for four hours a day? Seriously, that shocks and appalls me more than anything to do with their divorce.

  9. G, I’ll put money on Guy walking away with somewhere in the neighborhood of $80-100 million. But your filthy Socialist Euros mean nothing to me!

  10. He deserves half for sure.

He’s probably cursing Trudie and Sting every day for introducing them in the first place.

  11. I’m grateful for the Madonna/Guy diversion. Too much AJ and Aniston news lately if you ask me.

  12. I’ve never been to one of her concerts nor do I ever want to, but I’m curious, can some one tell me how she straps her penis down when she struts in her tights? Guy should definitely get hazard pay for the marriage and fight like bloody hell to keep his son in England. Rocco would only grow up to be a nation hating sissy in NYC, or worse, fall prey to steriods use by emulating his “Uncle A-Rod’s” associates.
