Ever since Benicio del Toro’s rep confirmed that Benicio impregnated Kimberly Stewart, I’ve been slightly surprised by how few photo ops Kimberly has arranged of her growing bump. She’s gotten pap’d a few times, sure, but I had the mindset of “Kimberly is a famewhore, so she’s going to milk this pregnancy for all that it’s worth.” Could it be that Kimberly is maturing, and that her priorities have changed? Could it be that all of the paparazzi are merely camped out with January Jones’s bump? I don’t know. These are newish photos of Kimberly and her bump on Wednesday, in LA. Benicio’s rep announced the pregnancy in April, probably when she was 3-4 months along? So she’s probably 6 to 7 months along now. She’s carrying high.
As far as we know, Kimberly is still living somewhere on her father’s LA property (it’s the guesthouse, right?). And the last thing we heard about Benicio, the tabloids just said that he wasn’t very happy that Kimberly was pregnant. I’m surprised the whole thing hasn’t gotten more coverage, but then again, as I said, Kimberly has really been keeping on the down-low. I feel like there’s more to the story, though. I still want to know whether this pregnancy was the result of just a one-night thing, or whether there was (initially) more to the relationship. I wonder if the lawyers are involved, and Kimberly’s disappearing act is more about a financial settlement than a maturing woman?

C’mon…cut her a break! I think she looks quite pretty in these pics, despite the fact “she’s not smiling”. Seriously, folks…had the girl cracked a smile at one of the lenses, the comments here would probably accuse her famewhoring her pregnancy. She walks to her car without smiling, and everyone assumes she’s miserable. Perhaps she’s smiling on the inside, cause let’s face it: this is going to be a very cute baby girl*

I have always noticed he liked a very specific type of girl: the trashy blonde. It’s a rather common phenomenon among Latin men (I’m speaking that as a Brazilian girl). I kinda hoped he’d acquire a better taste in women after a while…but I guess I hoped in vain.
Also, it’s ridiculous being upset because she got pregnant — as if his penis wasn’t inserted in her vagina multiple times (which led him to have an orgasm and impregnate her). If he wanted to make sure nobody would have his baby, he should have had a vasectomy. Jerk.

I’m pretty sure she got breast implants at some point, but it looks like she’s had them removed.
Her dad, who continues to foot her bills even though she’s in her 30s, probably told her to keep out of the public eye.

Why is this unfortunate? Why should she be unhappy? If she were that unhappy about an accidental pregnancy, she could have terminated the pregnancy, and no one would have been the wiser. She’s not some single mother welfare type, she’s the privileged daughter of a rock star, and having a baby isn’t going to hurt her financially, or emotionally. I know… it’s hard to wrap our middle-classed brains around the fact that an unplanned pregnancy isn’t a disastrous event for wealthy people.

*sigh* I am one of those flat chested pregnant women. It’s so disappointing. I’ve waited all my life! I always heard you’ll get them when you hit puberty. Then you’ll get them when you have a baby. No, I’ll get them when I pay for them. My bump gets bigger and bigger and makes my boobs look smaller and smaller.

Benecio should man up and own this child not be hiding from it. He chose to sleep with her, not using contraception is my guess, and he is old enough to know better so he needs to grow up and realize he is going to be a father and role model and should act like it. Someone I know ran into Benicio a couple of years ago at a restaurant in Puerto Rico and told me you could smell him coming from miles away. So I actually can’t believe any woman would want to spend any time with his stanky ass much less get close enough to get impregnated.

I read that about Benicio being unhappy she was pregnant. I hope it is because they didn’t have much of a relationship, not because he didn’t really want kids. I hope he is a good, loving father to the child when it comes whatever he thinks of Kimberly. Some people really don’t want to be parents, and I don’t think you should unless you really want to. But that’s what birth control is for, shame more people aren’t smart enough to use it.

I used to like Benicio (emphasis on the USED TO) but I think he’s just being mean.
Even if it was a one-night stand, why not go the January Jones route and say nothing? It’s not like either Kim or Benicio is scalding hot right now (neither is JJ, IMO) so there really was no need for him to be such a jerk.
FYI – I carried my oldest son so high that when he dropped, I could actually breathe again. EVERYONE thought he was a girl.

Look, she’s 30 years old with absolutely no marketable skills and no career prospects. She sleeps with a famous Oscar winning actor, gets pregnant after what is most likely a one or two night stand, and he publicly states how little he wants to do with her. That’s humiliating.
Add to it that her father is apparently quite mad about it, and I don’t think she’s got a lot of happy support right now.
If she’s hoping for a smooth relationship with Benicio once the baby is born (either as a co-parent or just as a financial support) then she’s wise to stay off the radar.
If she’s trying to diffuse the situation with her dad (who is her sole financial support and could certainly decide to cut her off in which case she’d be screwed) then she’s also wise not to be flaunting the pregnancy in the press.
I think staging photo ops and running to a third-tier magazine like “Life & Style” is only going to piss off the two men (Benicio and her father) that she depends on/will depend on for financial support.

@43 – That’s rich, considering in the comments above many posted that Kimberly at one point had fake boobs – size-D implants according to her wiki. She’s also been rumored to have other work done (although she looks fairly natural to me, personally.) I hardly think this is a case of commenters harping on a celeb for NOT choosing surgery.

I think she’s embarrassed…BDT did a “straight up diss” (as my children would say) of Kimberly…I read somewhere that she thought they had more of a relationship than he did (obviously). It would be humiliating (to say the least)to rock up pregnant and have the bloke basically say “Yep its mine and I’ll pay…but I don’t want anything to do with you…” UGH. Well, let’s look at it this way: she could had had an abortion and forget about the whole situation, but so far she seems to be willing to become a single mom and make the best of it. this wasn’t a staged Photo Op it was the paparrazzi chasing her because they have nothing better to do by the way She’ll be 32 August 20th and you tend to gain more weight on your first pregnancy than subsequent ones because you don’t know how your body is going to react to it. nor is having children at her age isn’t uncommon Gena Rowlands was 35 when she had her second child first daughter Alexsandra 9/21/1965 & 40 when she had her youngest child second daughter Zoe on June 29th 1970 or Vanessa Redgrave would’ve had her 4th Child aged 34 in 1971 had she not miscarried or Audrey Hepburn had her youngest son just before she turned 41 February 8th 1970 her birthday is May 4th ect.

Benicio has a type doesn’t matter if they have blond,brown or black hair he likes easy. I doubt this was a one night stand he must’ve been seeing her more than once. I have no sympathy for her as she clearly wanted this baby she probably looks glum because she didn’t get the guy aswell. There are recent pics of Benicio on the net and he looks glum also but what would you expect having to deal with Kimberly for the rest of your life. It seems work is coming in for Benicio which is good as I can’t see Kimberly working EVER!

Awful, vomiting, sick, can’t eat… My entire pregnancies were a misery. The only good thing about it was these suddenly enormo boobs, my hubby’s obvious love of my pregnant bod and the baby.
It’s just kind of fun to have huge boobs for awhile. It’s like new toys or just having a really voluptuous body for a while. Between having babies 2 years apart and nursing, it was like having a boob job for 4 years.
I feel for the flat pregnancy girls, only because you get big curves and the boobs make it look more balanced.
All in all, I like being smaller, I ride horses and would hate having huge boobs all the time. I also worked with many reduction patients whose lives were so much happier after.
Kim really looks like her Dad, huh? I guess if you have Rod Stewart for your dad and Benecio as your baby dady, it’s not so hard to be a single mother. She isn’t likely to be on welfare soon.

They are just so different! I liked Benecio because my Puerto Rican (and DR self) is so happy whenever a Puerto Rican succeeds in Hollywood (or anywhere for that matter, for ex: Sonia Sotomayor).
However, I don’t get this. Benecio is a proud (for lack of a better word) Puerto Rican. Some don’t speak Spanish or learn later in life…he has always spoken Spanish. He speaks both languages well…will this child learn Spanish? Will the child be brought up Catholic as is the majority of Puerto Ricans?
Her dad is English and they are probably Anglicans/Protestants.
It’s sad. It’s not my business, I don’t need answers and I sometimes I forget just how much culture, heritage, and a traditional upbringing matter to me.
Even if Benecio isn’t the settling down type, I’m sure if had been able to plan for parenthood that would have included a familiarity with his cultural backgroound and his parent’s values.
And Kim leaves in her Dad’s guesthouse, she once remarked that she hadn’t ridden a train before (until she went out with some friends in London who suggested they ride the tube).
Benecio has made his way in the world, in Hollywood, he speaks Spanish and gave a great portrayal of the Argentinian Che Guevara.
He has acknowledged the child and situation but she probably what he would have ever envisioned as mother/wife material…maybe nookie material…but not much else.
Both are wrong as so many have pointed out but as a woman I can only speak on her side and if it were me. I would ask a lot of questions before getting into a relationship or a ONS with him. And if a pregnancy happened I’d have to ask myself a bunch more questions. Like religion, education, language, travel and living arrangments, work…everything. Especially if you are getting involved with someone older, or who isn’t serious about you, or with total different views than you or background. Because you’d be rasing your child together (ideally).
I hope she has planned and thought all that out and that she and Benecio hash/talk it all out together.

@Yanira – I understand where you are coming from but this sounds like a casual hookup so culture, heritage, and traditional upbringing would not come into it. It’s physical/sexual attraction plain and simple. FYI Rod Stewart is not English he’s Scottish. Benicio has been asked about his impending fatherhood when he was in New York a couple months back where he organised a charity film event for Japan and he said “uhmmmmmm we’re just going to work that one out day by day” and that really says it all.

Kimberly thought she could tame a bad boy and she failed – no wonder she looks glum.
