Paris Hilton “felt ambushed” when GMA reporter asked about her irrelevance

fp_7586356_hilton_paris_lav_00_04

A few days ago, a useless cokehead dumbass walked out of a Good Morning America interview in a huff. Paris Hilton got her thong in disarrays after ABC correspondent Dan Harris questioned Paris about her irrelevance, citing the Kardashians’ fame as an example of how Paris has been overshadowed in the famewhore game. Paris looked off camera (to her publicist, it seems) and then she got up in a huff, temporarily leaving the interview. She later returned and finished the segment. Now TooFab reports that Paris is all whiny about it, and she thinks she was “ambushed”. Seriously.

Paris Hilton is upset with ABC and correspondent Dan Harris for airing an “Good Morning America” interview that went awry, a source close to the situation tells TooFab exclusively.

The 30-year-old reality TV star walked off set because Harris deviated from the agreed-upon (and very serious) topic of stalking, the source says.

The source says Hilton invited Harris and his camera crew into her home to talk about the recent string of celebrity stalkings. Hilton’s alleged stalker, James Rainford, was recently arrested and charged with attacking her then-boyfriend Cy Waits in April and stalking her outside her home in July.

“Do you worry sometimes that people that have followed in your footsteps like Kim Kardashian are overshadowing you?” Harris asked.

“No, not at all,” Hilton responded.

“Do you worry about your moment having passed?” Harris pressed on, at which point Hilton audibly scoffed and left her chair.

The source says that particular question set Hilton off because just moments prior, Harris had gone on and on about the success (to the tune of $1 billion) of her fragrance lines and merchandising. “It’s ridiculous that he went on an on about her making a billion dollars, and then asking if she’s relevant,” the source added. “She is upset. She felt ambushed.”

The source adds that Hilton resumed the interview after ABC told her they were cutting out the part where she walked away, but they did not. The source also says Hilton feels Harris did this only to get publicity for himself, which he’s now accomplished.

[From Too Fab]

Absolutely. Ridiculous. Paris Hilton was doing a sit-down interview which was being pre-taped (it’s not like this junk was live!), and she was trying to promote her failing reality show which no one cares about. The only way she gets attention anymore is by getting arrested, hooking up with someone major, or being absolutely idiotic (see this post). Instead of being smart enough to say, “Well, I think my multiple successful business interests speak for themselves,” Paris showed her ass and let everyone know that she actually is THAT irrelevant, and she knows it too.

By the way, don’t you love that Paris is calling Dan Harris a famewhore? That’s what she’s saying – “He’s only famous because he asked me a mean question!” It’s called being a half-decent journalist, for the love of God.

What surprised her is that somebody said it to her face, cmon Paris…everyone knows its true.

  2. brin says:

It’s GMA, not Access Hollywood, you airhead!

  3. Rita says:

Being ambushed often results in a brain fart…..seems she’s continuely being ambushed.

  4. dorothy says:

He just asked what everybody’s been thinking for years.

  5. wunderkindt says:

    Paris who???

Anyway, whoever so is, she’s been over for many years now and got replaced by KK.

  6. MB says:

This idiot missed a golden opportunity to give people the impression that she is anything more than a useless waste of space. She should have taken the questions on the chin and responded politely and the reporter probably would have moved on. That would have been the classy thing to do and people might have actually given her a bit of kudos for doing so.

Needless to say, she blew it.

  7. MollyB says:

She obviously subscribes to the Sarah Palin view of journalists–i.e. that their job is to ask puff-ball questions and anything probing or challenging is “mean” and “gotcha”.

  8. Samigirl says:

Dude, I like him better after this. She showed that she is still just a spoiled brat.

  9. Isabela says:

I loved that when she came back after her storm-off, her response was so carefully & clearly given to her by her publicist and she had rehearsed it.

  10. Anti-icon says:

This is so stupid of her. She can’t “face” her critics, but has no problem polluting the airwaves with an “entertainment” program of her creation, that begs scrutiny.

Hilton’s must be one of those real life examples of the dumbing of the gene pool of the “elite.”

  11. Chickie Baby says:

She just didn’t know how to deal with someone who has a real job and actually earns their salary, instead of relying on the family name to make money.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: there is very little point to her existence on this planet. If SHE would do something constructive in the world to help make it a better place, her life wouldn’t be so vapid and she would learn how to handle an interview by a competent and talented journalist.

Paris, your narcissism is what makes you irrelevant.

  12. velourazure says:

i saw this and immediately thought the whole thing was staged by both parisite and the interviewer. they’re both getting publicity now- isn’t that what these bottom feeders crave? a fake “scadal” to create fake “controversy”. yawn.

  13. Jane says:

Paris is one of the most useless people around. She has a ton of money at her fingertips and all she does is show her crotch, make a sex tape, do boring reality shows, put her name on products, pose for photographers, party, whine when someone doesn’t kiss her feet and generally just take up space.

There is so much more she could be doing with her money that would actually be a help to society and a good use of her time. But, she is too stupid and spoiled to know that or care. Her parents not only did a lousy job bringing her up, but they enable and make excuses for her behavior.

  14. lucy2 says:

She’d feel ambushed if someone asked her what 2 + 2 equalled.

  15. suggabugga says:

this “thing” sickens me beyond belief. her f… doghouse probably cost as much as some families spend on groceries in a year. somebody needs to tke her around town and show her low-income housing, families and kids in need , maybe a visit to the elderly in need wouldn’t hurt either to remind her of how frickin relevant she is to the world. and if that’s too mundane and trivial, paris, fly your private jet to a third-world country nd have your publicist tke you around the slums to remind you of how fucking lucky u r, you dumb ugly bitch.

  16. Runs with Scissors says:

Did she get another nose job?

  17. Dhavy says:

Can this guy do the same interview but this time with the Kardashians?

I will love to hear what their purpose in this world is

  18. Mauibound says:

Remember when paris got outta jail and said she was going to push womens causes and do charity work? I wonder what happened to that.

  19. Devon says:

I hate this bitch. I think this was the first interview I’ve seen of Paris with a journalist asking actual questions, probing a bit and not just buying the bullshit that she spews. Remember that Larry King interview after she got out of jail when she claimed she’s never done drugs? BITCH PLEASE! A real journalist would have said “fuck the agreed upon questions and I’m going after this one” because there are photos and video of her doing drugs, in possession of drugs and on drugs. Larry King just let it go. ARGH! She makes me so fucking angry. Going to go stare at pictures of ASkars to calm myself down.

  20. Madisyn says:

Parasite Hilton lives in that gilded cage that Blohan and now, Chris Brown live in: ITS NOT MY FAULT!

Wonky’s “ambushed”, Blohan’s “I was pushed by the paps”, and Chris Brown’s “it was a set-up”.

These useless pieces of crap just don’t get it. They look more and more ridiculous every time they open they’re pie holes. I can’t help it, I’m laughing right now at the absurdity of their comments. Instead of just letting it go, people do have short attention spans after all, by releasing statements on it shows how narcissistic, entitled and pretentious they are. Loves it!

  21. Kelly says:

@Mauibound, thanks for bringing that up! That’s a classic moment. Why can’t she realize (just like Lohan) that when she talks about “helping others” it sounds totally disingenuous? I just looked it up to find out how, exactly, she intended to help those putative others, and this is what she said to Barbara Walters: working for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis charities, and starting a Paris Hilton Playhouse for sick children. Paris, reports Barbara, has also begun consulting a spiritual advisor.

The Paris Hilton Playhouse! That sounds like a cathouse, for real.

  22. Skins says:

Why is Wonky getting all in a snit about this? The only thing relevant about her anymore is her irrelevance. Get over it Wonky and don’t worry, Catface will be just as irrelevant in a year or two and will still have to deal with being married to Frankenstein

  23. The Truth Fairy says:

    1. She needs to cut her hair short. The long hair is aging her.

    2. Isn’t this the second time she has walked out on an interview because she didn’t like the questions? Where is her publicist??

    3. If I were her publicist I would have told her to say that she is glad that Kim was able to use her association with Paris to propel her into the spotlight and that she is happy for Kim’s success since there is enough room in the Celebrity Universe for both the Hiltons AND the Kardashians.

Regarding her being over, she should calmly listed all of her recent successes including $$ value. End of story. She would have looked professional and not like a big spoiled baby. Again, where is her publicist???

  24. Anoni Mus says:

What a vapid, airheaded, stupid girl.

  25. feebee says:

Yeah so much publicity for him. Not one comment has included his name. However plenty of kudos for actually doing his job, which is the important thing.

I don’t see the instant corelation between making megabucks on superficial items like hangbags, shoes and yet another average perfume and actually being relevant. Doesn’t being relevant mean if you disappeared you’d leave a hole? Not any more Paris. The public at large would not miss you. That’s part of the point Dan Harris was trying to make. Neither you or your publicist (or whomever was advising you off camera) were smart enough to understand and answer. It may not have been Access Hollywood but it was only GMA.

Thanks for the laugh Mr Harris (who by the way is perfectly fine, very watchable journalist who doesn’t need this sort of crap to make himself more so).

  26. original kate says:

who’s douchier – the person asking if someone is irrelevant or the irrelevant person?

  27. Kelly says:

edit: was responding to a different thread, LOL

  28. the original bellaluna says:

Did she feel “ambushed” when her stalker attacked her boyfriend (or whoever) outside that courthouse? Or just by a fluff piece reporter?

  29. Amanda G says:

Don’t be fooled, she is thrilled that her interview “walk out” is getting so much press. No one would have even heard about that interview if that guy hadn’t asked those questions. She is secretly thanking him.

  30. kira says:

She’s always the poor little victim, isn’t she? When she got asked a hard question on The View, it was the same thing. Poor, poor Paris. The world is so mean to you! However do you get through it? Poor, poor dear.

  31. gemmaa says:

disclaimer – I am not a PH fan:)
Alledgedly, the interview was set up solely as a type of revelatory piece on stalking and the very real dangers of it.
If this is true, the interviewer WAS taking the lesser road and veering onto a subject which would inflame her.
He got his desired result, and she really let herself down.
She claims constantly how much of a savvy business woman she is and when asked a question which is not favourable, she cannot even turn it around to suit her purposes.

  32. MuzzikLvr says:

Deja Vu. This same thing just happened on The View. Paris needs a new schtick to keep herself in the news…because becoming indignant during interviews isn’t working.

  33. Mom says:

She did not invite this guy into her home to act like a jerk. The topic was stalking. He was gloating asking his inappropriate questions. Watch his face.

If you had someone come into your home on business and they turned on you with a camera rolling for the whole world to see, it would be just as tacky. Think about it.

  34. fizXgirl314 says:

even though she sucks and she’s worthless, that interview was kind of mean.

  35. TQB says:

If a useless cokehead dumbass walks out of a Good Morning America interview in a huff, does anyone notice?

  36. i.want.shoes says:

“It’s called being a half-decent journalist, for the love of God.”

Actually, it takes no talent to make fun of Paris, or to point out her all too obvious lack of relevance (now or ever, for that matter).

Honestly, if I were a reporter, had completed a degree in communications, had work experience and was given this assignment, I’d be asking who I pissed off to deserve this sort of punishment.

  37. LaCanadienne says:

OMG she looks so much like Ann Coulter in that top photo … funny how we wear our lives on our faces !!

  38. Jana says:

I love more how Barbara took her to task. She got out of jail and told Larry King she was going to stop talking in baby talk and do all this volunter stuff and opening a wing to a hospital — or whatever bull she said back then. Years later, nada, and still talking in her baby talk. Then she tells him it’s a character and not how she really is and then at the end she thanks him in baby talk. LOL You’re fooling no one, Paris.

  39. Anise says:

She’s in a business? What business? The business of being famous for nothing? If I had as much $ as she had starting out, I am sure I could have turned that into a successful business too.

  40. Madisyn says:

    @ TQB

“If a useless cokehead dumbass walks out of a Good Morning America interview in a huff, does anyone notice”?

Got it, good one, love it. The answer to your question is: NO!

  41. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

    Great post LaCanadienne :)

  42. Catherine says:

If you watch the put-takes that the news show provided on their site, she kept looking to the side the whole time he was asking questions and she wasn’t answering then all of a sudden she decided to walk off. Someone on the side was telling her to leave. She wasn’t even thinking for herself…no surprise because she probably is incapable but it had to be her publicist or someone telling her these questions were inappropriate.

  43. Pyewacket says:

I think she looks nice in these photos.

THERE, I said something nice about her for a change.

  44. michelle says:

Has anyone else noticed her one eye doesnt look as wonky as it used to? She musta had it fixed…good for her.

  45. Ulysses says:

There is no-one on this planet I have less respect for, she’s not mentally ill, there’s no excuse for her. She chooses to continue to be a stupid spoiled, useless woman.

  46. Meghan says:

I watch my 4-month old niece during the days and sometimes we watch How Do I Look? on Oxygen. Well they’ve had commercials about the “SEASON finale” of Paris’ show. I was like…I wonder how much she had to pay them to say season finale and not series finale…..

  47. Shannon says:

What did she do to her face? She definitely had some work done, but it’s surprisingly subtle and actually makes her look better. She looks more like her sister now too. Fillers maybe?

  48. Hakura says:

Title Quote – “Paris Hilton ‘felt ambushed’ when…asked about her irrelevance.

My first thought in response to that was: “…She’s asked about her irrelevance in every interview she’s ever given, you’d think she’d be used to it by now.”

I think the difference is that *before*, you could say it as much as you wanted, but she wasn’t going to really believe it. But now… after trying to set up a new show about herself (that unlike before, was relegated to a less popular network, Oxygen)& failing absolutely miserably

I think it’s really starting to ‘sink in’, finally, that no one cares what she does, & likely never will again. (Thank God)

  49. dovesgate says:

Ever since I saw the video of her calling people “n-er”, mocking fat people (meaning anyone heavier than her), and calling other women sluts (pot meet kettle you stupid b!tch – yeah we haven’t forgotten you being besties with that pedo Joe Francis either – that where you got your herpies?) I have had no entertainment from this blight on humanity. Until now. I bet that really stung huh? Ha ha.

  50. Woody McBreairty says:

I’ve seen Paris Hilton many times in public environments and she is actually a very polite and considerate person. She is respectful of people who approach her, always signs autographs and poses for pictures, smiles back and waves at people and so on. I personally think the questions here were inappropriate and I don’t blame her for objecting. I think those who treat others with honesty and respect should be treated likewise.

  51. Lucy says:

I don’t see what the big deal was…from the headline I expected her to jump up from the chair, angry, she just kinda laughed and got up…whoop dee do…

  52. Chris says:

I heard she’s going to be playing Lyn Hasley Taylor, the role made famous by Sandra Locke, in the remake of Every Which Way But Loose.

  53. Mom says:

Perhaps she has had her eye fixed or something done on her face. Perhaps she takes too many drugs. Who knows?

She’s got the money to do what she wants, things you and I could only prioritize and try to save for. Leave her alone.

  54. Wah wah wah says:

If Paris didn’t need to promote her show, she wouldn’t have done the interview. On The View, she was grilled (ok, not grilled, maybe “heavily toasted”) about why she hasn’t done charity work etc. Of course they were “mean” to her. I doubt she would see a pattern.

I would love for the paps to truly leave her the eff alone – can you imagine her sheer desperation to get attention? I am thinking “Sunset Boulevard 2012″.

  55. Dirty Martini says:

All she had to do was smile politely and say “My relevance is worthy of being interviewed by Good Morning America”.

She’s an idiot. And candidly, asking her about her relevance or being overshadowed when a national morning news show is indeed giving her airtime isn’t exactly rocket science either.

Candidly no one really comes off looking good in this story IMO.

  56. Scout says:

@ Dirty, I totally agree. I actually wanted to write to GMA and ask them why, for the love of all that is good and important and relevant, a NEWS program would even bother to have an interview with that twit. WHY does she even get to be heard about ANYTHING – especially on a news show?! I like that show and the reporters for the most part, but if they go down a path of having narcissistic idiots like this one on while I am trying to enjoy my morning coffee and catch up on our world, then I might have to abandon them for another station. I truly hate that they gave her that spotlight to revel in. It only feeds her bloated ego and confirms in her own delusional mind that she matters to the general public! Sorry for the rant….

  57. The Truth Fairy says:

IF SHE IS SO IRRELEVANT, WHY IS GMA INTERVIEWING HER ?!?!

  58. Hakura says:

I just saw one of her commercials (for her show) a minute ago… Where she says:

I live my life like no one’s watching…Even though someone usually is.

    Ahh, irony.

  59. ADS says:

@The truth. Exactly!! 60 + comments for some idiot airhead apparently. She will always be famous because people can’t stop talking about her. Now, who’s fault is that?

  60. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification appeared to be at the web the easiest factor to take into accout of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed at the same time as folks think about issues that they plainly don’t recognize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also outlined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thank you
