Rosie O’Donnell is smothering her new girlfriend, pressuring her to move in

The National Enquirer has run quite a few exclusive stories on Rosie O’Donnell, and they broke the news of her split with longterm partner Kelli Carpenter in 2009. It’s not like all of their Rosie stories are undeniably true, but they seem to have an insider source at least. Their latest story claims that Rosie is smothering her new girlfriend, Michelle Rounds, by calling her multiple times during the day while she’s working. Rosie is also reportedly pressuring Michelle to move from New York to live with her in Chicago after just a few month of dating. If this is the case, I don’t see this one lasting too long.

Rosie O’Donnell’s new relationship is already starting to crack because she’s coming on way too strong for her new galpal, sexy businesswoman Michelle Rounds…

Despite dating for just a few months, Rosie is already asking Michelle to drop everything and move to Chicago with her!

“The warp speed at which Rosie has been pursuing Michelle has left her head spinning,” revealed a source. “But Rosie just won’t let us! While the romance is still in the puppy love stage, Rosie is like a giddy teenager and her behavior is verging on obsession.”

She’s been calling and texting Michelle “constantly, just to check in” – even while her girlfriend is at work!

“Michelle has a busy, stressful job as a headhunter for firms seeking information technology professionals,” explained the source. “And to have Rosie pestering her at work isn’t sitting well with her bosses and colleagues, especially when she’s interrupted during important meetings.”

Now she’s asking Michelle to relocate to Chicago, where Rosie recently bought a $2.5 million home. Meantime, the star is getting ready to launch a new gabfest… on Oprah’s OWN network on Oct. 10.

“Michelle is balking at being pushed to commit,” added the source. “She thinks the relationship is far too new for them to be living together, and she’s not ready to give up her friends and family back east.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, October 10, 2011]

You know that old joke about the U-Haul lesbian? “What does a lesbian bring on a second date? A U-Haul.” It’s obnoxious, it’s offensive to some and it’s a stereotype, but it does come to mind in this instance. (And it applies to both sexes and to hetero relationships too of course.) Rosie is 49 and she’s got a busy life and four kids. She sees a potential partner and she doesn’t want to waste time, I get it. Still, people have their own lives and they need to ease into a relationship. Not everyone is ready to jump in head first or give up their career for a new relationship. Michelle is taking the smart course to wait and see, especially when it’s with someone with a history of volatility like Rosie.

The Daily Mail has photos of Rosie’s new $2.5 million home in Chicago, where she wants Michelle to move in with her if this story is accurate. It looks homey and nice.

I like Rosie, but I can’t see why anyone would date her, she seems so volatile and selfish.

    eeeeewwwwwww!!!!

  3. i.want.shoes says:

Michelle Rounds: be afraid. Be very afraid.

Rosie doesn’t strike me as being “all there” and balanced…

  4. Ally says:

It also seems like Rosie’s the kind who wants a partner to move in and be the “domestic” one, while she gets to be a self-indulgent, abusive blowhard.

  5. Linda says:

I still can’t get over the fact that Rosie got married and here she is with another. Why fight so hard for gay marriage if you’re just going to destroy and disrespect it?

  6. Hellen says:

    Rosie’s philosophy has always been:
In every relationship, someone is the gardener and someone is the flower. And Rosie’s ALWAYS the flower. She admitted that Kelli took care of absolutely everything for her.

She’s obviously looking for a new gardener.

If this is true, and it probably is, Rosie is something else.
Emotionally she’s a 14 year old playing at setting up house. What about that poor sap who upheaved herself and her six kids from Texas to move to Florida to be with Rosie? How did Rosie dispatch that clan? Where is this family now? Back in Texas? I hope Rosie at least financially compensated this woman and her children for all the upheavel (emotional and otherwise) she caused them.

  8. Kara Ann says:

I used to abhore Rosie because I found her to be mean-spirited and self-centered. I still think that those things are true but I kind of feel sorry for her. She seems to be her own worst enemy. You can’t be selfish and have the kind of relationship she appears to want. Why can’t she see that?

  9. SolitaryAngel says:

    Michelle, you in danger girl–RUN.

  10. Catherine says:

    Don’t believe it.

  11. Victoria says:

  12. Magsy says:

Rosie’s a brute, watch out she doesn’t smother you in the night and roll over on you.

According to Rosie, Michelle is moving into the new Chicago house next week. They have dated for two months. Great role model for her kids. You want it, you buy it. What happened to last year’s gaydy family?

  14. harfang says:

It’s not a myth, at least not in my town, which is liberal and has a big LGBT community but the L/B female part of that is notoriously clannish and frumpy. I expect Chicago is not L.A. but is still better than here for that. Anyway, I’ve dated girls who wouldn’t kiss me unless they were sure they were in love. Like on the first date they were like this. …Rosie looks pretty good.

  15. Headhunters says:

Ah well, what’s a few calls during the day. That’s far from stalking yet 😀
