Anyway, last week we heard that about Blake’s man-hopping, bed-hopping, amazing dating game wherein she dumped (???) Leonardo DiCaprio (because he was getting too serious!!) and instantly moved on to Ryan. Allegedly, Blake tried to hit it with Ryan when they were working on The Green Lantern, but whatever went down, it was either nothing or nothing serious. But now RAKE is on. So on that Ryan traveled from Boston to New York just to see his new girlfriend. Seriously?

Well, just a week after their steamy station hookup, a source says that Ryan traveled to NYC to visit Blake on the set of her hit show, Gossip Girl on Oct. 8!
“They hugged and then got in a car together,” the source tells Us magazine.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why so many women are treating Ryan “Gerbil” Reynolds like he has a dong made of magic. Maybe he’s just not my type, but even when a guy’s not my type, I can at least understand why girls like the dude. Not so with Ryan. I don’t get why Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Wilde and now Blake are all over this guy’s jock. Please, explain it to me. Do these ladies know that there’s a single Fassbender in the world?!?
Also – In Touch Weekly has a “how Blake won Ryan’s heart” story, and it sounds suspiciously like a “how Blake won Leo’s heart” story that I remember writing – basically, every dude loves Blake Lively because she knows her way around a kitchen. According to In Touch (via Jezebel), “Blake exhibited what could only be called girlfriend behavior and went grocery shopping for Ryan, then made him meals and stocked his freezer with the things she made.” So domestic. That probably does work on dudes like Ryan. Dudes like Fassbender, however, are into a completely different kind of “meal”.

Anything from the worst blog on the planet (Hollywoodlife) should be ignored. They don’t get anything right. They just repeat bad gossip from other sites or make it up out of whole cloth. They suck.
First, where are the pictures? Secondly, it doesn’t seem like anything is going on if every putative encounter is reported in the tabloids. It’s a fantasy romance created by her PR. If I was them, I would worry that this approach is creating more harm than good. I certainly don’t plan to see any movie where she is the key attraction, not only because of the overemphasis on her personal life, but also because there is no evidence that she can act. Leighton Meester is the key attraction in GG, Hick, the last film she was in, received atrocious reviews and as far as I know was not picked up for distribution.
Finally, what’s this idea that she has game because she can get men in bed? Every reasonable looking young woman will have a certain amount of sexual conquests. The fact that her conquests are actors has to do with the fact that she’s an actor.

I had no opinion of her – I haven’t watched even one full episode of GG – until all of a sudden her name was everywhere, but not because of her work but because of red carpet appearances and relationships. Then I started reading she was in the top tier of young actresses, but I wasn’t hearing anything good about the quality of her work. Of course now when her name comes up, my reaction is negative. It feels too much like Hollywood is trying to jam her down our throats.
As to reviews on her acting in Hcks, I’ve read everything out there and whereas I haven’t seen out right slamming, I haven’t read any positive reviews about her acting. i would assume she is at most an adequate actor who we are being forced to accept as something extraordinary.

I never really thought much of Ryan Reynolds until “The Proposal.” I think it’s because it was a cute movie and he and Sandra had great on-screen chemistry. I do not believe any of the hype about Blake Lively. She is not pretty, cannot act and has the worst taste in clothes (like the black and white outfit above). I think this was something their publicists cooked up – and we all know how stars can’t be alone for too long or they drop off the Hollywood radar. I use to work in PR (music and television) and you would not believe some of the stories I have heard about what celebrities will do to stay in the (tabloid) news. So much of what we think is real isn’t. Blake’s publicist is obviously pimping her out to every A-List un-attached male celebrity in order to keep people (like us) talking about her.
Sorry but I think Ryan is gay and any woman with him is a beard.

I did try to post links, but it wasn’t happening, so I gave up. They were from Indiewire (The Playlist), the Hollywood Reporter, and I believe the Collider. None of them faulted Lively for Hick, but neither did they praise her performance. At this point, I have to say, in terms of acting ability, she still has to prove herself. The rest is a distraction that may do her more harm than good.
Reynolds is ‘cute and forgettable’. Handsome, fantastic body, good skin and good hair, very intelligent, articulate, socially active, sense of humour, stylish, sexy, much fun. ‘Boring and meh’? He reads Saramago and Roth, hardly everyone’s literary fodder. ‘His eyes are a tad close together’ … Funny, some of the French bloggers mentioned that he has ‘des beaux yeux noisette’ (beautiful hazel eyes), and he appears on a lot of magazine covers because he is ugly and has a gerbil face. Has anybody mentioned his tonsils or his toe nails yet? I must say, some of the comments are really very, very peculiar.

Look all over the internet and she is just so hated and despised. The performances in this movie were a little bit of a mixed bag, the better performances being Blake Lively and Eddie Redmayne. Both Lively and Redmayne played their flat, one dimensional characters to their strengths, but it was not enough to salvage this poorly executed wannabe black comedy. As for Moretz’ performance–I was very underwhelmed.

I don’t know, I don’t find this hook-up hard to believe at all. They were definitely hanging out together in New York last weekend, a friend of mine saw them at Locanda Verde on Saturday night. And neither her people nor his people have flatly denied any of the recent stories about them. Ryan is a hottie and harmless, Blake’s pretty and I like her sense of style. I can definitely believe there’s an attraction they are exploring. Guess I’m not seeing this as a p.r stunt like others are.
@Lou if I remember correctly Ryan made it abundantly clear he dumped Alanis and that Scarlett was better marraige material. (Look how well that worked out). Edit – mln76 – I never know what to make of the RR and Alanis split. Alanis definitely got the shaft there, but she handled herself beautifully. RR was always so kissy with her and then when he hooked up with Scarlett he seemed to behave like she does. Being married to Scarlett was better for his career. He got in many more mainstream films. Hopefully, that uncoupling will be positive for him.

I read somewhere that Alanis (whom I really like and find more beautiful than any of the other RR alleged girlfriends) is known to chew men and spit out the bones. Probably he was also tired of being Mr Morissette and later on Mr Johansson. I think he loved Scarlett until the episode of the Tony Award. There he realized she might have damaged him, in a way or other. I like her, but she seems always to be peeved and slightly pissed off by something. Beautiful, but definitely not warm. My opinion is that, maybe, he still misses Morissette. However, I like him with BL. She has vitality.

Scarlet was a terrible match for him. Probably kinky in bed but a real ice queen outside of it. After awhile, even the fun and games at bedtime will wear out fast. Blake seems like a fun gal who can hang with the boys and the girls. A much better match.

I don’t get Ryan’s appeal. He is a butterface. Sure, he has a fine body but that is it, and who cares about a toned body if you don’t have the more important traits. He seems selfish, egotistic, and not a nice person. There have been plenty stories of how badly he has treated “regular” people and does anyone remember the story of him having a big fight with Scarlett in Boston in plain view of others? A witness said he was acting like a “baby”. He is a temperamental, immature fellow.
As for Blake and Ryan – they both are cheaters and players so they deserve each other.

Based on my age and experiece, I say he is an honorable person. He has a great work ethic, I saw him in Boston a month ago, while he was busy being filmed. That, alot of women would like to be with him is not his fault. That his eyes are close together, that he may be gay, that he looks like a gerbal is all talk. There is always someone ready to criticize someone else.
RR is a model, a very rich man, an actor, a businessman, a producer, a friend, a son, a brother, an uncle, ex-boyfriend, ex-husband, a world traveler and a lover. He wears too many hats to be in the same friendly frame of mind all of the time. Give the guy a break.

Us mag is getting their “source” from twitter sightings. In fact it’s almost verbatim to a twitter post from a woman who saw them together at Union Square this past weekend. The Boston story was also based on sightings. So is the pr rep really leaking these stories? Does not seem that way to me. If anything, the two of them seem to be going on with their business rather low-key and the tabs are just using twitter for their gossip. Blake’s rep tried to deny the stories initially and then decided she wasn’t going to comment on “gossip”. His reps haven’t commented at all actually. No comment in Hollywood = pretty much true. And why not? They’re both good looking, young and by most accounts fairly down to earth, sensible people. Let them enjoy their time together.
