Back in November, Angelina Jolie did an interview with 60 Minutes in which she claimed that she “is still a bad girl… I still have that side of me. . . it’s just in its place now. . . it belongs to Brad–or our adventures.” She gave us hope, y’all. All of us Angeloonies, we wish and hope and dream that some day, we’ll see our old Angelina, the wild maneater who could just as easily stab you as f–k you. I like the current Angelina – I do! – but sometimes I get a little sick of her all-mommy-all-the-time stuff. I miss the old Angelina!
Anyway, Brad Pitt was interviewed on CBS’s This Morning with Charlie Rose. Charlie showed Brad the clip of Angelina talking about the “bad girl” stuff, and Brad’s reaction was just… delicious. Brad says: “She’s still a bad girl. Delightfully so. It’s not for public consumption.” It’s around the 4:30 mark on this video:
Um, did that make anyone else hot? The way Brad smiles and says, “Yeeeeah, she’s still a bad girl.” Like he’s whispering it in her ear as he’s on top of her? Or would he say that to her while she’s on top and his arms are tied to the bedpost? Damn, that was hot.
And, sure, Brad also talks about the kids, Moneyball, politics and using Paul Newman as an example of the kind of life he (Brad) wants. It’s a good interview, and you can read some additional quotes here. But I will be all over Brad’s Oscar campaign if he gives more interviews like this. Please, Brad! Talk dirty to us.

Well, it is nice to see a couple who loves one another and is not divorcing. I think they will go the distance in their marriage and I hope so for the kids. So many couples have divorced lately.

There’s a great article in New York magazine this week about the Fame Economy and there is a blurb on Brandgelina which basically says their relationship is where their real money comes from. I guess this is why we have to hear about their sex lives all the time and every intricate detail of their relationship and their children.
I’m so burnt out on them. They’re worse than the Kardashians when it comes to the personal life exploitation. They just don’t technically have a TV show about it.
Also, Brad appeared on a New York radio show this week and basically admitted that they stage all the photos of the kids because they want to control the images. He made it sound like this was a great thing and that he was pulling one over on the press. The fact that they use their children to manipulate their public personas seems to have escaped him. And his fans.

BTW, the logic of I say “when”, “who”, and “how” per the family photos doesn’t wash for me. Reminds me of the line in Pretty Woman where the hooker is boasting about all of the control she has in her line of work. The comparison with the Jolie/Pitts may be apt when it comes to making money off family.
What bugs me about Brad and Angelina is they hide behind this self-righteous “we’re exploiting our image and our children for charity” when they make enough money to give to charity. Johnny Depp is a huge star and I’ve never seen him stage photo ops with his kids. They don’t have to do that. They feed the press machine.

Maybe he meant that they prefer to choose when the press can take pictures of their kids. I am not a Pitt’s fan but I am trying to understand him. Public still wants them so the picture of their kids still selling. Better give some than getting hunt down. Might as well staged it. If there’s no sight of them people always assuming the worst like the kids are down syndromes or ill or they must be a bad parents for never taking the kids out.
Perhaps that’s why they let out some of the pictures just enough to satisfied public’s curiosity. They never bring their kids to the interview or bringing camera inside their house showing what the kids do. I noticed they have a tendency to give out almost the same answer for years so isn’t that counting that they protecting their privacy too by just giving a bit and mostly the same information about them?

What makes you think the people would feel the urgent to passed on the law that ban the media to put pictures of a celebrity’s child when there are so many other pressing issue in America?

Besides the exerpts that I’ve read from the NY Magazine article they really didn’t do a great job researching how the JP’s make their money. They claimed most of their income comes from endorsements and baby photos. Brad hasn’t had a endorsement deal since 2009. Angie LV $10 mil endorsement went to chariry. The baby photos of Shiloh and the twins went to charity which the magazine used as part of their income.
Even if it didn’t go to charity, the $20 million they received 3 and 5 years ago for the baby photos is not paying for the $100 mil in properties they claim the JP’s own.
Jolie-Pitt do not even compare to Taylor-Burton. Taylor-Burton were much more talented actors and much more glamorous and nuanced characters than these two.
@Ida : You do realize that Taylor also has reputation for stealing a man from his family and even her best friend? So much for character. On the side note, I think deltona lakes meant that people are interested at Jolie-Pitt for the same reason they got fascinated for Burton-Taylor. You’re doing it again Rhea! When I say complex and nuanced characters I don’t mean goody-goody at all. And, yes, I agree, la Jolie is by no means a goody-goody, and I’m not talking about her sex life with Pitt.
Yes, the Jolie-Pitts are overexposed but there is a difference (in theory at least) between being overexposed and actively promoting (and selling) your life or, rather, a cheesy, completely two-dimensional picture of what a modern American family is supposed to look like.
One more thing, I’m no fan of Taylor-Burton but gotta pay credit where it’s due: they were great actors.

If you say that Taylor not promoting as much as Jolie you should put a consideration about media in that era and media in this era. Also like it or not, real stories or not, internet can make you perform an opinion of someone you have never even met. If the media right now is the same like the media at Burton-Taylor era, you would not heard much about Jolie-Pitt unless the movie studio arranged it.
And I strongly believe that internet and media that so easily to access today required a different method to handle. Do you think if Burton-Taylor are in this era they would not do the same thing? When there are so many lies spread, so many fakes sources, so many people trying to discredit you, won’t you try to come out and give your own interview to straighten up? When they are hunting you down, since your family pictures still selling–won’t you staged a photos too so public can stop bother you for a while?

Based on what I’ve observed in other threads, deltona lake really means it when she says that Jolie-Pitt are the only comparable couple to Taylor-Burton in terms of beauty, talent, sex appeal, etc. As in, although that may be the general opinion, it is also one that she shares. Which is fair enough, just not one I happen to agree with.
Also, at the risk of repeating myself, again, you are doing it, again, petal. If I say that I ‘prefer’ Taylor-Burton to Jolie-Pitt (although that is not the case, I simply find them more interesting) because I find them to be superior actors and more nuanced characters, I couldn’t possibly explain that in terms of the fact that they all do/did what they want/wanted and give/gave money to charity. That wouldn’t constitute a very nuanced reading. But while we’re at it, the fact that they (Taylor-Burton) were bloody good at what they did certainly adds to their allure, a lot actually, as is only right. After all, what the hell does anyone of us *really* know about the life of the Jolie-Pitts? Nothing, is the answer. We go by the image they have constructed and put out there and their work as actors and I happen to find both very flat and two-dimensional and cheesy. When I see a great performer like Burton, on the other hand, I am quite moved, and Taylor, when at her best, was absolutely enthralling. Jolie meanwhile, apart from the fact that she’s a mediocre actress, although she did show some promise early in her career, can’t stop making disparaging comments about her profession, which I find unforgivable. For example, the nonsense she spouted around the time of her directorial debut. At one point she said she was relieved to be behind the camera because it meant that she didn’t have to concern herself with her appearance. As if acting involves exclusively looking good. As if looking good was a burden to her. As if she’s free from vanity. She’s a Hollywood star and you can’t be a Hollywood star and not be vain. Please. It’s a damn cheap trick and her comment an offense to the profession and people who have worked with her in the past.

By appearance I believe she meant her performance in act. Not her face. When you are acting to be someone in the movie, you are out there from your comfort zone showing your understanding of the character that you played by your act. People would judge your appearance in that character. They would either like the character you played or not. In any case it would put you on the spotlight. So I understand why she feels relieved to let other actress to take the spotlight.

lol at the people who think Brad and Angelina are above it just because the people who do work for them in manipulating their image in the press aren’t labeled “publicists”. They have a whole team of people to keep them out there. How do you think Brad Pitt is handling this long Oscar campaign? How do you think Angelina makes sure photos of her being a good mommy or doing charity come out just around the time any negative story about them comes out. Open your eyes people.
The studio handles Oscar campaigns. They have a whole separate budget for it. Studios often hire PR firms that specialize in Oscar and awards campaigning. Just like they handle promotion of the film itself and the other Oscars it hopes to get for the film.
Brad is obligated to cooperate to some extent. His co-producing responsibilities for Moneyball require him to sell it. Since an Oscar win historically generates more money and exposure for a film – even one already released – what kind of producer would he be if he didn’t go along with the studio’s Oscar campaign?
People in the industry who know Brad personally always comment on his reluctance to campaign for awards for himself. I am glad to see that he is more cooperative this time around. His reluctance to campaign for himself for Jesse James saw his incredible performance overlooked that year despite great reviews. Instead Brad pushed Casey Afleck for his nominations.
This year he not only put in TWO excellent and award worthy performances but he worked hard to make these TWO excellent films a reality. The industry has been enriched by his work.

I am a proud fan of the “Brange” because they lead an interesting and adventurous life. There has never been another Hollywood family like them. They are a united family, with solid acting careers, with similar goals and interests, with mutual love and respect for each other.
And I will never tire of watching the Jolie-Pitt loving family, just like I will never tire of watching Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Gary Oldman and Tom Cruise.
@Katherine: Ah, the voice of reason. As you said, if Brad didn’t cooperate with the campaign he would be derelect in his duty to his studio and his film. Oscars generate money. Studios don’t make movies for nothing. Period. An Oscar will also make Brad’s salary go up for his next picture.
I don’t understand why there is so much resentment because Brad tries to earn the fruits of his industry’s labor. Anyone with a job tries to earn bonuses, advancement, promotions, raises. An Oscar awards all those things. Every single person who labors at anything wants recognition for their efforts. So Brad is repulsive because he wants some? Please. People condemn him for doing the very same thing they would do in his position. And there is the rub. Few people are in his position and they are frothing at the mouth with jealousy and resentment.

I wonder if the tabs are going to make the connection between Paul Newman leaving his first wife for his second wife Joanne Woodward, who he met on the set of a movie, to the triangle of doom. They’ll probably take his comparison as a sign of admitting guilt. Also, that despite calling Joanne the love of his life he still cheated on her throughout their marriage. The tabs will probably than insinuate that Brad is cheating on Angie. You know they look for every angle to throw sh*t at her.
Anyway, it’s great that she still has that side of her (the mommy thing does get a bit boring and repetitive), but I just can’t think of this admission as hot because I feel like it’s being wasted on Brad. I just have never gotten the hype about them as a couple. If this had been Jonny Lee or Colin Farrell(alleged ex-lover) that would be hot, but Brad is just so not sexy to me.

Afraid your “theory” doesn’t hold much water. If anyone’s rep as a serious person was helped by their getting together, it was Brad’s. I believe that Brad always had this serious and more worthwhile side to him before he met Angelina but that with her encouragement, and maybe even her example, it flowered.

In 2003 20/20 dedicated an entire episode to an interview that Barbara Walters did with Angie. The subjects ran from BBT, to Maddox, to her UNHCR work, and to her opinions and feelings about sex. It also included footage, and talk about the land she’d purchased in Cambodia, that she planned to live there off and on with her son Maddox, and how she’d had to have the land de-mined, before she could build on it.
This was summer 2003. She’d never met Pitt yet. There was a huge amount of interest in her pre Brad Pitt. So much so Babs made her promise to come back and be interviewed again, which she did in 2004. And they again spoke of both her public, and private life, including her UNHCR work.
Given how she looks these days, “bad girl” probably means eating more than 500 calories a day. Anything more is not for consumption at all, public or otherwise.

If you look at the myriad of venues through which BP has done these interviews, you can see they’re trying to hit all demographics to promote both films, and Brad for Oscar. I mean from Inside The Actors Studio to CBS This Morning, the audience between even just those two shows is broad to say the least.
If one didn’t follow HW press, they may only see one interview. If a person does follow what is trending, they might be on overload by now.
I know that if I didn’t follow all of this campaigning online, I wouldn’t know much other than the nominations, as I watch very little TV. So, I see this situation as something I control, and would only get “overload” if I let it happen, which I don’t.

After many years of being with the same person it’s easy to forget that you once found them beautiful. It takes a little work, maybe even just a minute out of your day to look at that person and pretend that it’s the first time you ever saw them.
Love is many things, attraction being one of the first to spark interest, but interest would not last long in a world full of beauty, without something more. People need to share common interests, respect, learn together, have adventures together.

Thoughts about this interview: 1) the make up artist should win an award He looked great, 2) He has smoked too much weed or drank too much–his thought process is all over the place. He kept having to pause before answering simple Qs. And/or he is becoming like his wife and checking himself before a word comes out of this mouth—trying to sound smarter than he is. 3) He can’t hold eye contact around certain issues. I’m no expert, but I think he was lying at least 3x. 4) I agree with some other respondents that they are ‘selling’ this marriage and family for their own benefit. Dragging children around the world at your own whim–feeding them soda to get them out of bed—and making them pack their own bags—WTF? Children need stability. They have enough money to be with their children in one home. That many children need their mother and father—not a group of nannies.

We don’t know what they mean by “bad girl” btw. Our projections don’t count. They clearly know what they are talking about and it appears all warm and fuzzy. They have what seems a comfort and ease with each other, that they did not share with others. A tender sweetness that can turn to that something else that lots seem to fear.
Good for them. He adores her. Better for them. He loves her. Best for them. The feelings appear mutual and reciprocated and love is equally shared. The kids reap the benefits. What more can anyone ask for?
As for her physical body, REALLY? I believe ALL her parts are there. The shape of them don’t have to please us. Brad seems beyond pleased. I never slept with her so I can’t say what it’s like, but going by Brad these last 7+ years she must be something else. Great for him. He must be handling his business too, so great for her. Brad is probably every bit of a “bad boy” (See Tyler Durden of Fight Club) as Angie is a “bad girl.” These two actually make a great match. They don’t have any regrets because of everything that happened in their lives brought them together.
Jen was not the one for Brad. If Brad’s marriage was so wonderful, he wouldn’t have longed for something else, been in therapy and desire a better quality life. Billy Bob rejected Maddox as his son, and Angie refused to stay with a man who would not be a father to her child. Brad and Angie are soulmates.

Brad Pitt was and still is Hollywood’s Crowned Prince. Billy Bob wasn’t. He was more suitable for Angie’s “badness” than Brad is but she badly needed an upgrade in her image and career. Her partnership with Brad has made her more famous and bankable than all of her movies put together including ‘Girl Interupted. Jen might have not been the one for him but one cant help question if Brad would even still be with Angie if it werent for all of those kids and their public grabbing brand worthy image.

On the red carpet, in live interviews, talk shows, magazine articles… How many more interviews do you need to see where Brad/Angie talk about the joy of parenthood before you get the idea that they love being parents to a large family? Being a parent is a deliberate choice and a very happy and large part of their life. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.
