Gerard Butler did undercover rehab for approximately three weeks, by most accounts. Allegedly, he was having problems with prescription pills and maybe cocaine too. Unfortunately, I have some misgivings about this whole situation – I’ll buy that Gerard was having a pill problem, and I’ll buy that he was having issues with recreational drugs too. But why did he only go to rehab for three weeks? Did he leave early so he could make it to the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party? And what does it mean if Gerard’s first week out of rehab involves not only huge (cocaine-soaked) Oscar parties, but also a trip to a nightclub AND an event for the launch of a new rum? Sketchy, right?
Anyway, we got a tip about this somewhat random gossip story about Gerard and his pills. According to one of Gerard’s ex-lovers, The Butler was only poppin’ pills to dull his back pain… because he wanted to keep on screwin’.

Trainer Alicia Marie dated the Scot, who recently came out of rehab, in 2009 and said she never had it so good in the bedroom.
But she claimed his desire to be the best lover meant he made his agonising back injury — picked up on the set of 2006 movie 300 — much worse, which led to him using more medication. She said: “He didn’t want to make any sacrifices in the bedroom, [making] his pain issues so much worse.”
I actually went on one of The Butler’s fan-forums (those bitches make my Fassbender-lunacy look quaint), and they identify this Alicia Marie woman as someone Butler was seeing somewhere in the summer/fall of 2009. I wonder if he remembers her name? Anyway, the more I hear about The Butler, the more I think my years-long jokes/assumptions are dead-on. The man has addiction issues, but maybe he’s not dealing with one of his biggest addiction issues: sex addiction. When you’re popping painkillers right and left all because you want to keep bonin’ and bonin’, maybe the problem isn’t JUST the pills, you know? Gerard Butler is living the movie Shame. Sigh… and now I’m thinking about Fassy again.

I was thinking the same thing – pain killers are downers, just like alcohol, which delay sexual response. Maybe that’s why he did coke too? Pills kill the back pain and cocaine keeps Little Gerry awake.
I think it depends-yeah if you’re mixing a TON of alcohol and a bunch of pills you’re probably not going to be able to get it up but a couple opiates and a few cocktails and he would probably be ok to perform. Amazing how so many people don’t realize (or care?) how dangerous that combo is…

I am a chronic pain patient, now that I am off the stuff, I feel myself “guarding” during sexy time. It’s hard to relax because everything hurts. So, you are always tense. Which makes the above happen again. In my experience anti-depressants are the worst, killing all libido.
I’d rather be a bit blue sometimes than not be hitting it in the bedroom.
I actually buy this story from personal experience, I can understand why a man or woman who has a chronic injury would take painkillers before sex. Its murder on the low back.

I don’t know if you have seen him in an interview, but he is funny! He tells good stories and tells them on himself. Too bad he is wasting all that personality on random women. He seems a little old to let his nether regions lead his life to that extent.
He’s looking rough lately. Lost too much weight, drugged/strung out. A gorgeous, tall man, great hair, with a cute accent when he first entered the Hollywood scene. He’s destroying his body by acting like a 20 year in a 40+ year body.

Silliest comment in the world by his ex. Sure, he probably used painkillers to stop the pain while sex. But that is a small portion of your day. As someone who has had severe back problems before, you are taking the painkillers just to get through the day or get through your workday, because the pain is unbearable and taking away your quality of life.
Secondly, three weeks in rehab. LOL All that is is just detoxing him, basically, helping him through the withdrawal stage of getting off the pills.

I think he got addicted to pills because his dick gave up long before he got addicted to pills, he can’t stand getting older, his career never got past 300, his looks never got past 300, he was going nowhere fast except ho’s who didn’t have a clue because they probably were coked out, and when you give up… you stop dying your hair, stop washing yourself, have the dead look in your eyes, and he had it ALL. That last pic shows how terribly skinny he got last year. Not a good look for him, he has always been a muscular, “thicker” but not pudgy man (well, off and on, LOL). He’s not meant for the skin and bones look — it sucks away his hotness. A sign of the cocaine use, maybe?
I think you’re right. I also think the “skin and bones” look arose from stress, unhealthy eating habits, lack of sleep and the combo of pills/coke. I think he needs to detox from Hollywood for a while.

But the thing that really killed all attraction to him was seeing him on talk shows. I didn’t think he was funny at all. He was like watching a frat pledge make a total fool of himself while thinking he was the funniest thing on legs.
