Angelina Jolie says her kids are the center of her life

Angelina Jolie is continuing her mom of the millennium tour. She recently told the L.A. Times that her kids are the center of her life. She also says she hasn’t been intentionally picking “mom -centric” films, but that a lot of the roles for a woman in her thirties are about motherhood, since that’s something most women deal with at that time in their lives. There’s also a lot of talk about travel, and how Angelina enjoys getting to raise her kids in the world.

On her recent return from a mission in Afghanistan where she met with poverty-stricken families as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N.: “I woke up at 3 in the morning with four kids with jet lag and two babies. I put myself together for a few hours and go out. And then I go home. This is my job.” While trying not to sound ungrateful about Hollywood, she added, “I don’t dislike it here, I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I’m so fortunate that I get to do that.” She went on to say that her family life is what is most important to her: “The center of my life is my kids.”

On her recent role as a mother who loses her son in Changeling: “Christine fought so hard under such incredible circumstance for the rights of other women. It was a real story that I thought sent a positive message about what you can accomplish. About democracy in action.”

On the fact that Changeling is her fourth-consecutive mom-centric film: “I don’t think it’s a choice of mine as much as it is something women deal with when we get older. A woman in her 30s is more likely to have roles that in some way relate to family.” She added “I got pregnant right in the middle of it and I think partially because of it,” she said, smiling. “I was so emotional about children that I think something in me kicked into gear.”

[From Celebrity Baby Scoop]

Angelina has been on the receiving end of a bit of negative press since Jennifer Aniston called her discussion of her relationship with Brad Pitt “uncool” yesterday. A little while ago Angelina finally admitted to falling in love with Brad while they were filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Since he was still married to Aniston at the time, Jennifer obviously didn’t appreciate Angelina bringing all that up again. Jen has kept pretty quiet on Angelina for the most part, so her comment was a pretty big deal. Angelina hasn’t responded, but it seems like she’s already back to getting good press.

Here’s Angelina at the “Kung Fu Panda” DVD release at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. Images thanks to Bauer-Griffin.

her ass or the lack thereof needs to gain some weight and i am so tired of the world glorifying this homewrecker who would never cheat with a married man because it happened to her mother 🙄

  2. Syko says:

Oh god no. Not another forum for the venom spewing. I can’t handle three within 24 hours.

  3. Shane says:

Interesting angle on the teeth and nose. Nose looks different.

    Anywhoooo, what’s that I hear?

3-2-1….fire!! The sound of a Jolie cannonball firing back at Aniston. Or at least the timing is such that it is easily construed as such.

    Go PR Spin Doctors, Go!!

Love the “children are the center of my life” emphasis. Like, ummm, “I have kids, and you don’t, Aniston. So take that!” and let’s not forget the “a woman in her 30’s is more likely to have roles that in some way relate to family”. Like, ummm, “the family I have and you don’t, Aniston!”

Double whammy, ouch! No fair, time out Ang – come up for air why don’t you!

Groundhog Day, so soon after Veterans Day…..

  4. aleach says:

um, cool, but WHY is this news agiain??

  5. Kaiser says:

Shane, you have a point. “A woman in her 30s is more likely to have roles that in some way relate to family [unless you’re my arch-enemy Pity Party, in which you play the same old unlucky-in-love non-mother characters over and over].”

And actually Celebrity Baby Scoop, this isn’t her fourth consecutive mom role. Hello, “Wanted”? Was she a mother in that film and I missed it?

  6. Syko says:

Southernlady (which I doubt), you do not know that she cheated with Brad while he was still married to Jennifer. You only know that they became close friends and fell in love. You actually can love someone without fukcing them. You are guessing they had sex. But until you know the truth, why don’t you save your recriminations and name calling, because truthfully I have had just about one groundhog day too many.

  7. Shane says:

Angelina’s hair looks extra dark in that picture. No subtle highlights to be found unlike in other pics. Could be the lighting tho.

Of course, she wears it well.

  8. Bodhi says:

No joke! Let the insanity begin…

  9. Ladee says:

    WHO-GIVES-A-SHIT 🙄

  10. Cheyenne says:

I’d be extremely surprised if Angelina responded to anything Aniston had to say. At the most, she probably sees Aniston as a minor irritant. And I seriously doubt Brad cares whether Aniston lies or dies.

Aniston needs to get over this crap once and for all. That Vogue interview clearly shows she hasn’t.

  11. southernlady says:

at syko i am indeed a lady which is why i assume nothing and will not call you out your name falling in love with a married man in my opinon is a no no and if you are tired take a break from the site sweetie rest your nerves

  12. Anni says:

Why would Angelina “respond”? I guess she pretty much knows that Jen thought her behaviour was uncool.

  13. Bodhi says:

Aaand there it is! There is the insanity, right there!

  14. JaundiceMachine says:

Incoherent posts, delusional ramblings and questionable grasp of logic? It must be a JA/AJ thread! Yay! These threads never fail to disappoint, Bodhi.

  15. Kaiser says:

Oh no! *holding back Syko as she attempts to knife Southernlady*

Amen to you, Syko. You’re perfect just the way you are! 😀

  16. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa says:

Shane, I was thinking the angle on the first pic is weird too! I actually fixated on her teeth before her nose.
Yeah, this quote is everywhere though and I keep just wanting to go “Kids the center of your life? Yes, you and almost EVERY OTHER MOTHER OUT THERE”
On the bright side though, I love her dress & heels in the above pictures. I also love that – for once! – she’s not blabbing on about Brad. I think I just saw a pig fly!
I hope she doesn’t say/do anything back in retaliation to the Aniston interview. I really hope they all just let it go. I’m sure the interviewers and the media will never let that happen though…

  17. vdantev says:

Gotta love a PR team with nothing better to do than to lick up JA’s tabloid table scraps. 🙄

What an easy job, just wait for her to say something bland but moderately snotty then release a statement reversing it.

  18. Megan says:

Angelina is making a career out of talking about her family.

  19. Nicole says:

This interview took place WAAAY before JA said anything, so there goes that point.

  20. vdantev says:

Another person I have to explain snarky sarcastic humor to… 🙄

  21. Linda says:

If “Pity Party” Aniston would have put Brad first instead of her lousy career, maybe Brad wouldn’t have been looking. It takes two….but one wanted kids…now!

  22. someone says:

The center of Angelinas life is Angelina IMO..her kids come second and Pittstain comes 3rd…….maybe.

  23. ri23 says:

No, really? Gosh, I’ve never heard that before. Yawn.

  24. susan says:

Linda are you saying that women have to “make men happy” and are responsible for whether or not they stay in a marriage. And for your information careers are not lousy. Perhaps you are a stay at home mom but most women find that they need careers to have a good and full life. Women should have children when they are ready not because a man wants them to. I am really hoping that you have no daughters.

  25. debra77 says:

Look at the questions she was asked. She answered the questions. If you want her to not talk about her kids and family, then ask her different questions. Reporters need to ask more diverse things. They all ask the same questions time and time again. How is that her fault. If someone asked you your name, How many ways can you respond. Get a grip, Stop hating just to hate. :

  26. Anni says:

susan: i guess linda meant anistons career in particular. which, after friends, is pretty lousy.

  27. Syko says:

Thank you, Kaiser. I still have not quite figured out that semi-incoherent post, it’s hard to read when it’s all one sentence with no punctuation or capitalization. I suppose we should give her credit for no text speak.

In my experience, being a lady is overrated. Being a woman is much more fun. Possibly that’s why Brad’s with Angie.

  28. Lore says:

Does she EVER stop talking about herself?
If her kids were the real center of her life she probably would’nt have the time to say so.
Jaybird: AJ didn’t “finally admit” anything so much a rehash embarrassing personal history to publizice her new movie. She is uncool. Tacky even.

  29. fancyfree says:

Wow, bashing people you don’t know and making rude assumptions about them all because they disagree with you over a celebrity who doesn’t know or give a shit about any of us? Damn!

  30. Mairead says:

Hush now fancyfree, Syko’s got a Maine Coon cat that will make it his mission to leave fluff all over your black trousers 😉

Linda are you saying that women have to “make men happy” and are responsible for whether or not they stay in a marriage… Women should have children when they are ready not because a man wants them to…

Oh.my.God. I’ve just agreed with two sentences Susan wrote on a Brangelina thread! 😯

As for Angie’s teeth. Didn’t Dustin Hoffman say recently that he first met her when she was a teenager visiting the set of Hook (?) and that she had a mouth full of braces back then. So no porcelain horse-teeth for our Angelina.

  31. fancyfree says:

I’m sure that was meant to be an insult, Mairhead but unfortunately I don’t understand what the hell you just said.
If it’s any consolation, I’m an Italian who doesnt know much or care much about any of these people, so you can put your daggers away. I still think it’s stupid that you would draw them, in the first place.

  32. Mairead says:

Ah, I hadn’t noticed that I forgot to include the word “cat” – sorry about that. The Maine cat is the fluffy cat in Syko’s photograph.

All cats shed their hair, and they will always prefer to sit on the fabric or clothes that you don’t want them to sit on when they’re displeased – especially black trousers. 😉

I wasn’t insulting you fancyfree, just a little light-hearted joking. Sorry if I’m not making sense – I’ve had a hard day at work when I’m tired I make less sense than normal.

  33. Syko says:

Fancyfree, I don’t think Mairead was attempting to bash you at all. She was joking. Even in Italy they joke.

I also was not attempting to bash Southernlady. But the ridiculousness of the people who come on here with pitchforks and venom spewing because Angelina Jolie is a HOME WRECKING HO!!1! and yet they admire Joanne Woodward, Lauren Bacall, Cindy McCain, Nancy Reagan, and a host of others who did nothing more or less than what Angelina did – fell for a guy she worked with, who made her laugh – and they make assumptions about her. I try to keep a little bit of sanity going on here, but that apparently is futile.

  34. WTF?!?! says:

AJ is disappearing. Through all this talk about “the rivalry” and the kids and the Pittmeister, has no one noticed that she is dangerously thin? Of course her teeth look bigger, the rest of her is evaporating. She has no no fat on her bones or muscle tone, only sinew.
Bickering aside, why doesn’t someone do an intervention and try to help her before she goes into organ failure? Maybe that’s why Brad likes her pregnant, it’s the only time she takes care of herself.
Does no one care about the person beyond the persona?
    🙁

  35. scotchy says:

    im with Bodhi
the ridiculous debate continues as insane as ever…
    fantastic..

  36. KERRI says:

Having lots of fun over at the JA “uncool” sites. WOW! The words pathetic, desperate and whiny comes up mucho, mucho times.

Anyway, I love this classy lady. She’s a beautiful woman inside and out. She’s a great humantarian, a caring mom and a loving mate to Brad.

Can’t wait to watch Brad’s interview on Oprah. 😛

  37. Kristin says:

LOL. I love how AJ can say whatever she wants all the time, yet the moment JA says something, she is torched.

  38. Ben says:

Jen, her PR team and sick fans are pathetic.
This all prove Jen never moved on with her life. She has been rotting like a sore for 4 years.

  39. L says:

The hollywood women in their 30’s that come to my mind hardly ever star in motherly type roles. I’m thinking Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Halle Berry a few years ago, Julia Roberts a few years ago, Sandra Bullock a few years ago, Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron… not many mama type roles by any of those actresses that I can think of. Catherine Zeta Jones has had a couple roles, and Meg Ryan and Annabella Sciorra both had a couple mom roles in their 30’s… but when I think of mom roles the actresses that come to my mind are Sally Field, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton… all after their 30’s.

  40. Mairead says:

Interesting point L; the mother-type roles seem to be more for women over 40 in mainstream cinema – although that is probably different in more indie films.

Though in that type of tole I think of Cate Blancett, Laura Linney, Catherine Keener (of course they’re my favourite actresses, so I’m biased 😉 ) – we’d need to check the ages though (I’m fairly sure Reese is in her 20s). The bigger grossing films tend not to be family-orientated or it’s a very minor aspect.

WTF? I think you’re right unfortunately, she’s getting far too skinny again – she looked perfect in those photos where Maddox and Pax were playing at the playground and that was just a few weeks ago.

  41. Buttercup says:

It must be a slow news day at Dlisted, as it appears many more trolls are appearing over here in the AJ/BP/JA threads. 😐

With that said, AJ I think you are so pretty, but maybe just maybe stop opening your mouth and yapping on about your happy family, you are upsetting the JA fans…

    🙄 😆

  42. Jenna says:

Megan, surely you are joking. Making a career by talking about her family? This woman is more successful than a lot of other women in Hollywood.

Before you come back to an Angelina post, do your damn research. 🙄

  43. Mary says:

Ms. Jolie does not respond to people. She had the opportunity to respond to Roseanne and said nothing, so why respond to something as trivial as what was said about her by someone else. I doubt she really cares or even knows. She does not read tabloids or obsess over others opinions of her, at least that is what she says.

As stated above, this interview was done prior to the other and would in no way relate to it.

Other women who are mothers also go on and on about their families, ie Kidman and Halley Berry and in much greater detail. Berry talking about her home pregnancy tests and Kidman keeping a diary was was too much informaiton for me but it made them happy talking about it, so why not. Again, why not Jolie, she loves her family very much, what’s wrong with talking about it.

  44. Mayi says:

Angelina stop talking about yourself for once in your life please. She is a classic case of narsastic…I know that because she just can’t stop herself.

  45. WTF?!?! says:

“She is a classic example of narcissism”

    or

    “She is a classic narcissist”

    I’m just sayin’…

  46. L says:

Mariead, thanks for pointing out Laura Linney (love her), she’s a great example of someone who played mom roles in her 30’s and beyond. She’s been in some of my favorite movies.

Oh yeah and Reese is in her early thirties.

  47. Jeanne says:

As they should be. What parent doesn’t say that?

  48. Kim says:

This one trick pony is so full of herself.

Those stick legs should be hidden under the long gowns she always favours. The goth hair and fixed teeth not to mention the eyelash glue coming off. And now she is going back to her Elvira look.

She talks about her kids because she knows it is her only claim ot fame.

Who cared about anything she said till she joined this love triangle. If she can sel ‘private’ pictures to promote her movie what else can’t she do.

  49. IMO says:

Motherhood is about doing what’s best for your children and attending to their needs, NOT choosing films that enable her to “play” a mother.

I have yet to meet a baby who didn’t suffer greatly from flying (the ears are especially sensitive…).

Her newborn babies had to endure more flying than most adults tolerate during a couple of years.

Letting your children have friends, go to school and experience stability and a sense of a home would be a humble start for taking on motherhood seriously.

  50. Jenna says:

    @ Kim:

Really, you want to go there? Show me a mother in Hollywood who has done as much as she. Actually, show me a person in Hollywood who has done so much for the orphans and other activities for another nation. What can you say? Madonna because she adopted a child from a third-war nation?

Her claim to fame isn’t her children, biological or not. She has more success than many of the other female leading ladies in Hollywood.

So many actors and actresses dish on their private life because it does help bring in revenue to their films. But she doesn’t need to sell her pictures for The Changeling or whatever else she decides to pick up.

By the way, you said ‘sel’ when it is really seal. Just pointing out the obvious.

  51. Christina X says:

Angelina Jolie’s starting to sound like a broken record.

Wait a minute. Starting? She already does.

  52. Ter says:

Is it just me or has Angelina settled into being an “over actor”? She was fantastic in Girl Interrupted and good in some of her follow on movies, and I get the larger than life acting for the action roles, but when she started with the accents in Alexander and the other role as the widowed wife of the slain journalist and even the trailer piece for the Changling, it looked like she was trying too hard, to the point of over acting. I compare her to Meryle Streep (because I just saw Out of Africa again), the SUBTLE nuances in Meryle’s acting and the way she inhabits an accented role, and I find that there is no comparison. Angelina, for me, is just not up to snuff with her acting chops lately, no matter the role. I find it hard to plunk down money, either at the theater or at the video store if I can’t count on consistency. Meryle has that in spades, but Angolina, not so much anymore.

  53. roller says:

… wait my brother and i are the center of my mums lives why isnt that breaking news? oh wait thats rights, because all kids are the centre of every mums life! *rolls eyes*

  54. roller says:

and about other mothers who dont do enough for their kids, let me name a few. reese witherspoon, jenny mcarthy, heidi klum, isla fisher, gwyneth paltrow, gwen stefani. come on! the list goes on. you dont hear them gushing about their kids. oh yea and to add to the list faith hill and VB. vb talks publicly very often she talks about her kids and DB once in a while but not in EVERY SINGLE INTERVIEW!.

about jennifer not wanting kids, she had a miscarriage while they were together. GEEZ! give her a break!

  55. Kim says:

Jenna, I meant ‘sell’ pictures not seal. The internet has been manipulated by the Brangelina camp for a while now. But the tide is turning. Unless she comes up with another trick to lull people into forgetting what a nasty piece of skank she is, I think this is it for her. Even after four years, the media tries to suck up to her, bloggers are as vicious as ever. She is an ice woman with no friends and gets a kick out of hurting others. Her charity is fake too. She is the only one who buys into it. Wait till her kids start using the internet and get to blogs. That is when she will realise that when you have kids, you can’t afford to be a public hate figure. I can’t believe she once said she would never get with a married man because of what happened to her parents. Now she has made a habit out of running off with people’s men.

  56. roller says:

go kim! its refreshing to see that not everyone is a sucker for AJ’s antics. man, she’s getting more and more transparent!

  57. Jean Marie says:

Please make this woman go away!

  58. Christina X says:

omg u guise stop throwing a pity party!!!!1!!!!1!!

  59. Mairead says:

I don’t think Jenna meant what Hollywood mothers do for their children specifically. Nobody is saying that Angelina cares more for her kids than anyone else, and it’s unfair to imply otherwise.

Roller has quoted some fantastic entertainers and no doubt mothers in the last list – but I have to point out that the main reason Jenny McCarthy is getting any publicity of late is solely down to her tireless work on behalf of autism. She’s picked a cause she believes in and is fighting like a tiger to improve standards for everyone, not just her son – but why ignore that fact to take pot-shots at another form of public works?

Of course there’re plenty of other actors out there who do charity work, give money and choose not to stick their head above the parapet about it – but the UN and Angelina have decided that she can best help in a more political capacity because it’s often the fallout from political events she’s highlighting.

Everyone gives to and works for the charities they care about and it would take a very nasty person to have a pop at someone else because they prefer to do it differently. If you don’t like that, well, it’s a pity about you.

Many UN aid agencies have quietly not used Goodwill Ambassadors who aren’t putting in the footwork, and Kofi Annan has mentioned that some people are calling themselves GDs when they are no such thing. In this case, the work is being fully endorsed by the UN and they seem to feel that it’s having a benefit and her fame is putting the spotlight on their causes internationally and will hopefully make political leaders take action to avoid further scruitiny.

Quid pro quo, people, quid pro quo.

  60. Modesty says:

Kristin said: “LOL. I love how AJ can say whatever she wants all the time, yet the moment JA says something, she is torched.”

LOL back at ya — I think it’s because more people actually like AJ…

    😉

  61. RAN says:

Mairead, I left a comment for you on the Ivy thread… Just wanted to catch up with you.

    Disagree Modesty

  62. James says:

Of course her children should be the center of her world. She spent the past 4 years being pregnant and collecting children. There are no more decent movies for her. Period.

Don’t tell me “Wanted” is a classic. And, ALL the heavy-weight critics from mainstream media agreed that Changelling is the worst movie ever made by Clint Eastwood, because of Angelina Jolie’s over-acting.

I haven been reading these pro-Angelina posts quietly too long. The experience is like watching FOX news in attempt to defending Sarah Palin. It’s painul! Very painful!

  63. Modesty says:

RAN, I can just go on what I’m seeing on this site and elsewhere. Yes, many people dislike Angie, but on the whole it seems possible that more actually dislike Jen…

But of course you’re allowed to disagree! 🙂

  64. Mairead says:

Hey RAN, thanks for that 😉

James – the New York Times said that almost everyone except one person overacted in that film (no not AJ – or even John Malkovich, alas.). I’ve not seen it yet, but it sounds to me like the acting and the whole film itself was very mannered, a bit like Nicole Kidman in The Hours and many of her other more recent films. I’m not saying it’s bad at all, but it’s a different kettle of fish to the earthy realism someone like Laura Linney can bring to a role.

(hope that didn’t hurt too much 😉 )

  65. Christina X says:

Seriously, maybe if the Brangelina supporters weren’t so hell-bent on making bitchy comments about Jennifer Aniston, some of us would take you more seriously.

Your arguments are petty and childish, but at least (most of) you’ve finally given up on denying that Brad Pitt cheated.

Anyone who seriously believes that popularity and aesthetic beauty is ever an adequate reason to cheat on a lover is a seriously warped, insensitive individual.

    “But Angelina Jolie’s more popular!”
“But Angelina Jolie’s prettier than Jennifer Aniston!”

Like I said, I hope your husbands/wives don’t meet anyone who’s younger, more attractive, or more popular than you are because god forbid you lose the self-righteous attitude.

  66. James says:

Hi, Mairead, Are you sure we are reading the same article on New York Times? Because I remember clearly the article precisely pointed out it’s Angelina Jolie’s over acting kills the film.

I still remember the ending something like: “the whole film is very “oscar” and trust me is not in a good way.” The witty writing style brought a smile out of me.

    Have a good day. 😀

  67. Modesty says:

Christina X, are you referring to my comparison between A and J — which you should note was in relation to a (sorry for assuming) Jen fan’s comparison?

Beauty is in any case in the eye of the beholder — one man’s queen is another’s hag — so I would never say anything about a characteristic that by its very nature is so subjective…

  68. Mairead says:

I think so James. The full quote is:
“Oscar-worthy” might turn out to be an accurate description of this baggy, grandiose movie — or, at least, of Ms. Jolie’s exhausting lead performance — but I’m afraid it would not be a compliment.

    http://movies.nytimes.com/2008/10/24/movies/24chan.html

Now, he’s not that complimentary about her acting true, but the rest of the review doesn’t land the blame solely at her door. I’m referring to these quotes which are more than just AJ:

“Mr. Straczynski and Mr. Eastwood have produced a distended, awkward narrative whose strongest themes are lost in the murky pomp of period detail.”

“Some of the performances … seem overstated to the point of caricature, but to the extent that “Changeling” is a horror movie, such exaggeration makes sense.” (he does compliment Michael Kelly’s though)

Same article.. two completely different takes on it it seems.

  69. Kim says:

Modesty, ditch that Brangelina Kool aid you are taking. Count the posts even on this very site and see how many people like Angelina more than Jen. Better still, US weekly has two polls going on and Aniston is winning both by an 80% margin. There was also a poll on the dailymail site and over 67% of bloggers said they would not mind Brangelina splitting.

I don’t know many people who like Angelina Jolie. The same people on this site stick out for them blindly all the time.

Like James pointed out, many people have been watching passively till now. It is like watching Fox TV. Brangelina fans (and they are very few)are delusional and obsessed. Reason and percepective are an anathema to them. Remind me of the far right. Some of whom are calling Bush more eloquent than O bama, oh and more intelligent. Now if that is not frighteningly ignorant, I don’t know what is.

Do you know any other celebrity whose charitable efforts are widely questioned like Brangelina and Paris Hilton? No one still buys that ‘oh we are so nice, look at all the good things that we do…’

  70. Shane says:

IMO, you made an interesting point about children flying. I remember how bad it hurt my ears as a kid. Most kids don’t know how to make the pressure in their ears equalize to relieve the pain. Chewing gum and drinking liquids is “supposed” to help but for the most part, it doesn’t. So I share your opinion that flying alot is cruel to kids.

One thing alot of people don’t realize, and that I only just learned, is that you are exposed to

    ALOT OF RADIATION

while flying, and pilots/stewardesses have a higher incidence of cancer as a result. Same goes for kids flying alot, their systems are even more vulnerable.

  71. Kim says:

Shane, you would think a mother of six would read those facts before claiming that all her children love flying and travelling like she does and get restless when they stay in one place for a long time. Angelina is so egoistic that she wants to see herself in all her children. She probably is totally oblivious to their pain. Wait till they are uncontrollable teens, we will see whether they will still be ‘her world’.

  72. Modesty says:

Jeez, Kim, I’m not drinking any Kool Aid… Maybe I just counted the intelligent remarks 🙄

I don’t visit US Weekly’s site and I don’t count the comments made by trolls…

Yes, I am a fan but I’m not blind. Is the best argument you have for disliking Angelina the “fake” charity work she’s doing? She’s done more than you, I’d imagine! Hell, she’s done more than most!

I live in Africa — maybe the stuff she’s done just mean more to those who are confronted by the hardship of the masses every day…

And before you ask me what kind of charity work I’m doing: I’m not on trial here, the last time I checked.

  73. Kim says:

Modesty, now that you mention it, I am in Africa at the moment, my IP can show that, doing….Yes, charity and I would rather no one knew or worshipped me for every little I do or give. So forgive me if I am not wowed by one washed up hollywood star who earns too much money by selling pictures of her children and gives SOME of it to charity when she has a movie coming out.

I know people every day who give so much charity, time and money. I have a friend who lost his life for the same. Worshipping a skinny, cruel, manipulative so called actress who gets more from charity than gives to charity is not my thing.

Yes some people benefit but please I don’t consider it charity when she gets more from it than she gives. It is called trade. I would adopt 30 kids if I got a cool $3 mil and promoted my brand every time I got one and raised my profile. Image is everything in showbiz and Angelina’s was suffering a backlash after her adultery. It could have been worse if she was not pretending to do charity.

It is time you wake up to reality. Trolls or not, you selective imagination is your own problem. Doesn’t take away the fact that probably 70% of people hate Angelina Jolie and think Brad Pitt is a talentless pussy whipped cad who morphs into his latest girlfriend. His hair is probably dyed goth black now.

  74. roller says:

its actually true what christina said especially about the “maybe if the Brangelina supporters weren’t so hell-bent on making bitchy comments about Jennifer Aniston, some of us would take you more seriously.”

i really started hating angie when i got to this site. before this, i hated her but not as much as now. its the comments about how angie is a saint when she’s obviously not and so much more. and someone said about people who hate angelina are people whose husbands have left them? my husband neever left me but my dad almost left my mum for another woman. maybe thats why i take it so hard and to see angie gushing about her perfect life with brad and the kids just seems like she’s rubbing it in jens face.

  75. roller says:

and wow, way to go kim! keep up the charity work , i try to do my small part as well. but im more into helping the environment.

  76. Modesty says:

Roller, I never called Angie a saint — I just cannot for the life of me see why people are so hateful towards her!

And Kim, she does not have to give a cent. I give props to her and ANYONE else who actually make an effort…

  77. roller says:

ok maybe i used the wrong term. but some people just put her on a pedestal. that was what i was trying to get at.

  78. Kaiser says:

Kim, you are certifiable. You consider US Weekly and Daily Mail polls “proof” that everybody hates Jolie? And counting the anti-Jolie posts on CB and other sites? My God.

And even if there is a large contigent of hateful, obsessed, pathetic trolls who vote and vote and vote in these “polls” and sign in to blogs under multiple names to bash Jolie, what does it prove? Besides psychosis?

Modesty, keep on. You’re holding up well.

  79. Kim says:

Modesty, do you seriously believe that she can make $14mln and not give to charity and get away with it? Come on, even you can’t be that naive. She wouldn’t be getting that much without flying the charity banner. Believe me, she gets more from charity than what she gives. Not giving is not an option. They are building the Brangelina brand remember. All the rest is just a ruse. Pretty soon she will be selling Brangelina marchandise and (T-shirts, cups, balls- not Brad’s 😆 , pens etc with pictures of the kids)her fans will have excuses for that too. They always do. Face it, there is nothing genuine about Brad Pitt and Angelina charity endevevours. It is all self centred and self serving. Her PR machine has spun it well I must say.

Kaiser calling bloggers names does not help your case, it is rather childish. The fact is you are not different from them. In the absence of any other obvious proof, atleast we can infer from the opinion around the internet here. Face it, more people hate Angelina than not.

  80. Modesty says:

Thanks Kaiser, I was actually wondering if anyone noticed this mini battle! I feel better and less threatened now…

And don’t think I’m ducking out — but deadline just passed (yay!) and it’s 6pm, so I’m going home… Can I pass the baton to you? (Not a police baton, a relay baton!)

  81. Kaiser says:

    ZOMG FACE IT. 😆

Edit: Modesty, I can’t argue with her. She belongs in an institution. But have a good day!

  82. geronimo says:

TO THE MODS: Ok, I called it yesterday and I’m going to do it again now. I believe Kim is Lola. And may also be Roller. They turned up together at the same time yesterday, supporting each other in that mad obsessive way that a lot of us are familiar with from previous lola-posting, the style is identical, the terminology is identical, the obsession is identical. Couldn’t give two craps about the opinions expressed, just feel we should know where they’re coming from since posting under multiple names is verboten on this site.

If I’m wrong, I’ll put my hands up and apologise.

  83. Kaiser says:

Geronimo, I second that – and I’ll stand by you if we’re both lambasted as ZOMG MCCARTHYISTS. Over the past week, there’s been several threads with some multiple-named trolls. 😯

  84. Jenna says:

Ou, spelling error from last night. I blame the alcohol. 😳

But Kim,what Mairead said was true after you responded to what I said.

But one other thing you said that I don’t agree with is that the media has been sucking up to her for the past four years. The media goes back and forth with their bashing of her, as they do with other celebrities. She sells magazines when there is a negative article written about her. This week she is in their good graces but next week, who knows?

**Edit: Wow, that’d be a shocking turn of events. Geronimo, you are right though. Something doesn’t seem right. 😯

  85. Kim says:

Geronimo, I am not ‘Lola’ whoever she is and neither am I ‘roller’. The MOD should verify my IP and you will have to apologise I am afraid, I don’t even know those two people. I have posted on this site but rarely, I followed a link to get here from justjared.com, it is another celebrity site.

I have been free for the last two days, we run into problems on our operation unit, bureacracy and all, but when we are up and running again, I will be out of your hair. Believe it or not, I am too busy most times to blog about celebrities. I enjoyed the exchanges and will come back from time to time but not that often as the internet connection is never good in these parts any way. Maybe I will get an avatar.

I am humbly waiting for that apology.

I am cool Jenna, apology accepted. The media has been harsh sometimes on Angelina but the blogs have sucked up to her big time.

  86. geronimo says:

@Lola/Kim – I’ll be more than happy to apologise when the Mods confirm your identity. For the mo, I stand by my earlier comment.

  87. Moderator says:

Kim is no one other than Kim.

I check all the time, ladies. And when I find multiple aliases, I take action.

There are more than one or two people who relentlessly go on and on about the same thing in multiple posts, but they are not all the same person.

  88. geronimo says:

    Fine. Thanks for that.

Kim – My unreserved apologies for accusing you of being Lola/Roller and of posting under multiple names. In my defence, your posts and the way in which you refer to previous posts of mine is almost identical to the afore-mentioned Lola. Perhaps you and she attended the same school of blog-commenting?

Roller – My unreserved apologies for accusing you of being Kim/Lola and of posting under multiple names.

  89. Kim says:

Geronimo, apology accepted. I must say I wondered who this Lola was. Of course I am not her so I did not let it bother me.

Thanks moderator for clearing that up.
