When we were talking about Kate Bosworth’s recent appearance at Coachella, we ended up discussing whether or not The Bos was the kind of person to get “secretly married” to her boyfriend of nearly a year, Michael Polish. You see, in the photos of The Bos and Michael from Coachella, everyone was talking about what appeared to be wedding-band-type things. Both were wearing them on their ring fingers, which caused some of you to be all, “Huh, I wonder why there isn’t a story about that?” I said at the time that even if Kate Bosworth shills herself as a “private” person, she would still let us know if and when she got for-real engaged. Well… I stand by that. But I also think this story could be true. Star Magazine claims that The Bos and Polish had a secret Buddhist commitment ceremony, and they “exchanged vows.”
Kate Bosworth has taken the plunge – sort of. The actress, 29, recently exchanged vows with her Big Sur director and beau of eight months, Michael Polish, during a secret Buddhist commitment ceremony in LA.
“A monk she’s studied with performed the ceremony,” an insider reveals. “They’ll have a real wedding later.”
But Kate’s pals worry she’s making a mistake getting so serious so soon, says the insider. “Many feel he’s too controlling and her friends have urged her to take it slow.”

Michael Polish is too controlling? I don’t know the guy at all, but I don’t get that vibe from him. He seems kind of famewhorey AND like he’s genuinely into Kate, though. Like, he’s not worried about being seen with her and he’s fine with posing on the red carpet with her. And then there are the “candid” photo shoots on the streets of LA and at Coachella. He’s invested. She’s invested. So it wouldn’t surprise me to hear that they were engaged… at all.

I don’t know anything about him, but I can see her falling for someone who is controlling. She would mistake it for caring. I have a cousin who always goes for that type. Like Kate, she can’t be without a man.
Anyone remember Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux and their matching bands that showed up about 2 seconds after they started dating?? Kate doesn’t seem to have too many original thoughts so I think she is just copying Anistons famewhore tactics. There is NO WAY Kate is going to miss a single pap opportunity to show off an engagement ring and lead up to a real(?) wedding. She’ll be papped every single day if it’s really happening.

Well, he clearly doesn’t mind her famewhore ways (pictures on twitter,calling the paps…),and this is exactly why I think they probably didn’t get married. If they end up getting married we will have pictures of the engageement ring and a lot of details about the ceremony.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this little buddhist ceremony took place, though. They seem to be really in love. It’s just not “official” for the moment.
Why won’t these women *cough*j lo* cough* stay single for a little while and enjoy their freedom? If I had money like that I would be living it up with my friends traveling around the globe finding hot men;)

I can see her being involved with a controlling person, or at least gives control over certain areas of her life in order to “please” a guy. I don’t quite get that feel from Polish, though obviously we’re only getting pictures. I think he caters to her neediness and is willing to walk with her arm over his shoulder and holding hands. Some of their walking shots make me cringe in how awkward it is – all so they can broadcast they’re together and oh-so-loving. She’s very fake, to me.
My only question regarding the rings, haven’t they been wearing them since they first ever appeared in public as a couple? I think the press release for the break up with ASkars hadn’t even been publicized yet.

They’ve had the rings on since their first appearance, which was about 2 days after the announcement of the breakup with AS. She and AS hadn’t been seen together since Coachella so they’d been over for awhile.
And no, I can’t see her getting married and not publicizing it, it would be so out of character for her.
Not only that, but there was one where is looked like once she got in the car, she was taking the ring off and laughing.
They started wearing rings like a month after she and Skarsgard broke up. She can’t be alone for more than 5 minutes. But at least she found someone less “famous” than her who is totally fine with whoring his life out on twitter and in pictures.
This is true. I think the fact that gossip blogs are noticing the rings a year after they started wearing them, says a whole lot about KB’s relevance. It’s pathetic.

I just can’t see this being true. This woman doesn’t seem to do ANYTHING without calculating the possible opportunity for pap exposure. After all the obvious ring flashing didn’t raise enough attention, I could see this being a planted story in an attempt to get people talking. Doesn’t her movie come out soon?
ITA. And yes she has a movie coming out. She didn’t go to the premiere, which is so weird considering she’s one of the leads.
L!fe Happens came and went this month, When We Were Here is at Tribeca this week. And no, she didn’t go to the premiere, which is indeed odd, since she’s the female lead and was listed as a producer when the movie was announced.
It’s not as if she’s got much else going on, except for JewelMint.
The first thing I thought was that her publicist must have released this so people would FINALLY talk about the rings they’ve been wearing since July.

I can’t believe yall are just now noticing this. I thought bloggers had seen the rings, and they just didn’t care enough to mention it. She’s probably been wearing the ring in every pic this sight has posted of her this year! I know it’s only Kate Bosworth, but come on!
That’s the funny thing, isn’t it? She really did make a big deal of making sure those rings were seen on their first public outing, and yet most of the professional gossips either didn’t really notice, or even worse for her, didn’t really care. Even mentioning the ‘life partner’ stuff back in the fall hasn’t really helped.
