Alec Baldwin says kissing Jennifer Aniston was ‘painful’

Alec Baldwin got to clinch with Jennifer Aniston for her guest appearance on 30 Rock, which was almost as awkward as her singing. Alec Baldwin was asked how he found it by the New York Daily News.

“It was painful,” Baldwin sighed. “I mean, every man who’s had to make out with her in TV and movies — I don’t know how they do it.”

But did he believe in the episode’s premise that unstable women are better in bed? Baldwin, who has a famously intense relationship with ex-wife Kim Basinger, guffawed and wagged a finger at us. (Phew — we were half expecting he’d yell.) “That’s assuming I’ve been with crazy women,” he said. “If I answer that question in the affirmative, that would type a woman I’ve been with as being crazy, which I don’t really feel like doing. But I hear it’s true. I hear from my friends it’s true.” These same “friends” also told him the theory might not hold for dudes, so insane men may not make better lovers, he speculated. “I will say this on the record,” he said before fleeing. “I’ve never slept with a crazy man.”

NYDN

It is so awkward to be asked what it is actually like to kiss your co-star. Can you say it was the hottest thing ever and you want to do it again? Should you admit it was awful trying to create some kind of fake passion? Do you confess you wonder about germs and give your teeth an extra good brushing when you get home? It’s all well to make a joke, or describe it as ‘really good’ (Keira Knightley on Johnny Depp) or completely unsexy (Scarlett Johansson on Penelope Cruz).

Or was a tiny little part of Alec just thinking ‘I wonder if I’m better at this than Brad Pitt?’

i think he was joking about j.a.

  2. Scribe85 says:

Mr. Baldwin needs to remember that he has a beautiful daughter with his ex, against whom he ought not make disparaging, verbally abusive comments. GROW UP Alex Baldwin. No one ever looks good by trying to put someone else down. No one builds themselves up by putting down another.

  3. Cassie says:

    Woah. That’s kind of mean.

I mean, it couldn’t have been THAT bad. So, he’s being sarcastic, right?

  4. geronimo says:

OMG. He was joking!! This is nothing but a bit of good humoured banter. If anything, he’s implying the absolute opposite – ie. it was great! He’s not disparaging his ex or Aniston, he’s just responding to a light-hearted Q. 🙄

  5. Kim says:

Of course he was joking 🙄 . He is a B but any one can answer that question like that. It is a stupid question really.

  6. RAN says:

Yep – w/Geronimo on this one.

  7. Sdot says:

He was totally joking! I love him! He’s my favorite baldwin brother!

  8. ri23 says:

    Obviously joking. Geez. Sensitive much?

  9. Kaiser says:

    *giggle*

Tony Curtis once said that kissing Marilyn Monroe was like “kissing Hitler” – and 50 years later he’s still trying to roll that sh-t back.

Methinks the Pity Party Patrol will have Baldwin’s sack in a meat grinder for this “joke”.

  10. roller says:

haha i love 30 rock! and im sure he was kidding.

  11. vdantev says:

Sharp corners of her face digging into your lips, I can see that. lol. Kidding JA fans. Damn crybabies.

  12. Syko says:

I never thought of it as anything but a joke.

I will state, however, that I am EXTREMELY glad I don’t have to make out with my coworkers during the course of the work day!

  13. Trumiko says:

ammm it was Cruz on Johansson, not the other way around.

  14. Darlene says:

I feel quite certain he was joking.

  15. Lore says:

I think he meant painful as in blue balls.

  16. Cheyenne says:

It probably was a joke, but Aniston is so insecure she’ll most likely take it seriously and throw a major hissy-fit.

  17. Duhh says:

Baldwin must be thinking ewww that lips touched Mayer’s lips “NASTY” hence his comment kissing Aniston was “painful”.

  18. KateNonymous says:

Much as I don’t like Alec Baldwin…that clearly was a joke.

  19. miss_kitteh says:

That’s the problem with the printed word…the humor gets lost. I read that somewhere around 90 percent of jokes made in emails and instant messages are not perceived as jokes by the reader. 😆

  20. trollydolly says:

This is the very man who called his 12 year old daughter a “disgusting little pig” in a voice mail.
Maybe he should learn to keep those types of comments to himself.

  21. devilgirl says:

    He was being sarcastic. Jeez!

  22. drm says:

@Cheyenne how do you KNOW JA is insecure? You on her mobile hot list of friends to call while in a crisis??

That is SUCH a flattering pic of Alec 😈

  23. Gawd says:

Of course he was kidding. He is very dry.

  24. daisy424 says:

Agree Geronimo, just a joke. 8)
I thought she was good on that episode, except for the painful rendition of Happy Birthday………

  25. Buttercup says:

I like Alec, even though he’s a hot head and his comment was obviously ment to be funny- and it was.

  26. Rosanna says:

I just love Baldwin! Hot hot hot.

  27. Cheyenne says:

@drm: Only someone who is extremely insecure would throw herself a pity party and suggest that “the world was shocked” about her crappy divorce. Like the world doesn’t have more substantial things to be shocked about. 🙄

  28. Ophelia says:

    @Kaiser
Kissing Marilyn Monroe for Tony Curtis may have been unpleasant though, he is gay. That has to be awkward, kissing the wrong gender. Maybe not to Hitler-like proportions though.

  29. RAN says:

Geez Cheyenne – obsessed much? You are officially an expert on all things JA/AJ/BP. 🙄

  30. Goddess711 says:

    Alec Baldwin.
Wife Abuser. Childer Abuser. Part of the Abusive/ Addict Baldwin brothers.
We’re supposed to take this prick’s opinion on the weather much less kissing Jennifer Aniston?
Any loser who would eff-up a relationship with Kim Basinger has more then one problem. Look at him – he’s the poster boy for Crazy! Creepy fat old has been nothing.

  31. Jessica says:

how do you know it was a joke?? doesn’t he have a rep for being mean??

If it wasn’t a joke, I think it was kinda unprofessional. Like, talk about the kiss if its great! but if its not… you don’t have to make your co-star look bad!

  32. spoonman says:

What awkward kissing a dead fish I mean Jen-No say it Ain’t so!!!

  33. Gloria Clark says:

So what are we supposed to think? That J.A. was a lousy kisser or that maybe she had bad breath? Jeez…

  34. Ter says:

CLEARLY a joke. Why does this man make me like him? I really don’t want to, but he has a feel for comedy that is truly infatuating. Damn.

  35. YesReally says:

Will you people stop making excuses for this guy? I am sick and tired of hearing excuses and sympathy for him. He’s stomach-turning. He has a reputation for being mean for a reason. People like him hone in on the sensitive and vulnerable. Everyone knows that Jennifer Aniston’s mother gave her a hard time and Brad Pitt betrayed and publicly humiliated her, and her sensitivity and vulnerability show on her face. You don’t see him talking like that about any other actress, do you, no, he picked on her to talk about that way. He knew that even if he really was joking, it would be offensive and possibly very hurtful to anyone he spoke about that way. But he wasn’t joking, he was being the bastard that he is. I know, people don’t want to believe he could be the way he is, and he very deliberately and skillfully covers for himself so that they won’t. But he is. Even as a joke this wouldn’t be funny. It certainly isn’t gentlemanly. But then he’s no gentleman. Abusive to Kim, abusive to Ireland, abusive to others, abusive to Jennifer Anison…get the picture? How much he cares about women, or his daughter, shows in how he’s conducted his life post-divorce. You think Ireland needs him to have girlfriends not even old enough to be her mother, that he thinks enough of his daughter to try to provide her with positive, caring surrogate mother figures if his ex-wife is as crazy as he says she is? The ones he picks don’t have that vulnerable, sensitive look, either. He thinks he’s better than anyone who can be hurt. He’s trash, plain and simple, stop falling for his quest for sympathy and excuses routine; save those for real men, for gentlemen. This one just feels entitled, and it’s not funny at all.

  36. YesReally says:

Imagine the kind of guy Ireland might end up with if she grows up thinking Alec Baldwin is the way a man should be. It may not have been easy for her for that voicemail he left her to be public, but it’s better that it was, so that she can learn how wrong her “loving father” is. Meanwhile he says it was “equally wrong” that a court rule (which would have shielded him from exposure) was broken when it was released as it was that his daughter had to go through the public knowing about it. That says what he is right there. I used to feel sorry for him and think Basinger was in the wrong, too. But sooner or later he gets seen through, and that’s something his type can’t stand. Bottom line, he’s a misogynist, among other things, and he knows he’s no Brad Pitt and that he’d have no chance with Aniston, or Jolie, or a whole lot of other women. Can’t somebody please bring out the hook for this has-been? You know, the one they used to use in vaudeville.

  37. YesReally says:

Imagine if Jennifer Aniston or any other actress had “joked” that way about HIM. Think he’d take it well? Of course not. Case closed.

  38. heh-heh says:

Maybe her chin was digging into his neck or something…that would hurt.
